HP Simplepass 2011

I'm having issues with HP Simple Pass on Google Chrome. I saved the wrong password and now cannot log into that site.
How do I delete the password ?  I have been able to do it on the Explorer 8 browser but can't find anything that deals with Google Chrome.
This question was solved.

You can correct passwords from within SimplePass.
Close Chrome and IE,
Open your SimplePass 2011 software,
open that Webcard (for that website)
Correct the password,
Save the Webcard,
Close SimplePass
Best to Reboot / Restart, but you might get away without it...
This should do it.  If not, then you may have to delete the webcard (from within SimplePass) and make a new one for that website.  Not a huge deal, but do try the correction first, if you like.

I have been trying to update Hp simplepass 2011 and when I hit check for updates, it says download successful but the file isn't valid.  Could someone please tell me what I can do?  Also, when I update to the most recent internet explorer, the simplepass will no longer work.  Thanks for your help!

, Hello and thank you for posting on the HP support forums.  If you are having an issue with an update it may not be meant for your OS.  Do a system restore back before you tried to update.  If the software is working do not update. HP PCs - Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 7) Only attempt an update in software if is classed as critical or if it starts having problems. Here is a link that may help. SimplePass PE 2011 came preinstalled on my new HP computer and I've used it successfully with IE8 and IE9.  I recently installed IE10 and now SimplePass no longer works.  It doesn't pop up for any of the configured web sites.

  • HP Simplepass 2011 no longer working in IE

Hello, I'm using a Dv7 notebook and I recently changed a setting, and unfortunately cannot find my route back to it. I was resolving another issue and changed a few settings specifically in my IE browser (9, 64 bit) and now I can use my fingerprint scanner to log into windows, but it no longer works in my browser at all. Would anyone mind herding me in the right direction? Been searching for hours, Thanks in advance!

Hello JuliusofRome.  I understand that your fingerprint reader no longer works in IE9.
What was the other issue which you were resolving?  This information may prove useful.
Does it give you an error when trying to use the reader in IE?
You believe you may have caused the issue while changing settings in Internet Explorer.  You should try resetting Internet Explorer's settings to their defaults and see if that has an effect on your issue.  Try the following.
    Close all Internet Explorer windows.
Click Start, type "Internet Options," and press Enter.
    Navigate to the "Advanced" tab.
You will see "Reset Internet Explorer settings" towards the bottom.
    Select "Reset."
Once the settings are reset you can reboot your notebook and verify whether this resolves the issue.
I hope you have a great day!

  • Quicklaunch on simplepass 6

    Hi,
My question is about getting quicklaunch to work with simplepass 6.0.100.276 on Win 8.1 on HP Envy Touchsmart laptop
I use simplepass to login OK.
It allows me to assign websites to fingers once I'm logged in.
It allows me to 'tick' quicklaunch.
However I cannot assign an app shortcut to a finger - I can only 'add' a website and assign that. Most of the other options/buttons simply do not appear as HP online documentation would suggest they should.
I can see various config files which relate to apps.
I haven't found a config file which shows the websites I have already assigned.
All online help refers to simplepass 2011 or 2012, mine is Authentec V6 copyrighted 2012.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks

    Linux Guy,
The Muddle in the Middle - Which SimplePass is which?
The naming convention for HP SimplePass could have used some work, in my opinion.  I could spend paragraphs on the subject.  Smiling.
You have, with V6.0.100.276, the latest viable Version 6 program available at this writing.  It may be the last ever in that series.  Sigh.  Whether the program is called by one official name or another is something I used to try and keep straight -- I have frankly lost interest in the muddle and now just go by version numbers.
    Defaults and File Associations
The browser pulled is the browser assigned to the "default action" for that type.
For example, you can easily assign Chrome as the default container (program) for opening http files.
Set Default Programs – File Associations
Interesting idea - tricking the opening.  I have not looked at the subject for a long time -- there may be enough structure in there to do this.  ??

  • SimplePass not fully working with IE 11

HP DV7 6143cl Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit recently updated IE from 9 to 11.
I bought the laptop mid 2011and did not get around to looking at the fingerprint reader until the end of that year. I used it briefly but with very few passwords I un-enrolled my fingerprints and let it sit idle.
Recently I decided to use it again but it was dead.
I installed the Validity Fingerprint Sensor driver sp55109.exe and HP SimplePass Identity Protection 2011 sp54680.exe. Upon restart it took me though the fingerprint enrolment process and started working.
The first driver is the actual sensor and the second is the management software, correct?
Very recently I updated Internet Explorer from 9 to 11 and the SimplePass stopped working again. So I repeated the above steps but only overwrote the existing drivers.
It started working again in that I can logon the laptop with a fingerprint and I can assign a website to an enrolled fingerprint to launch but it is no longer asking me if I want simple pass to save passwords.
Could this be related to IE 11?.
I read Dragon Fur's tutorial on SkyDrive:  Simple Instructions to Upgrade HP.
Should I try again after I delete the existing fingerprint driver?
I the tutorial mentions an very new driver sp63224 HP SimplePass V6.0.100.276 Win7-8
Would this driver help or am I just overlooking something else as it partially functions?

The newer SimplePass adds better compatibily with newer browsers. Will it solve all of your problems? Possibly, but either way it can't hurt.
There is also a newer Validity you might want to try.
    Validity:

  • MBP 15'' 2011 battery lasts only 3 hours!

    Hi
I bought MBP 2011 15 inch last week and received it on Monday.
    My configs are
    Model Name:          MacBook Pro
      Model Identifier:          MacBookPro8,2
      Processor Name:          Intel Core i7
      Processor Speed:          2.2 GHz
      Number of Processors:          1
      Total Number of Cores:          4
L2 Cache (per Core):          256 KB
      L3 Cache:          6 MB
      Memory:          4 GB
and I also upgraded to high resolution.
So far, I'm pretty much enjoying my new MBP
But I have one main concern with my new laptop's battery time.
The battry time is really really short!
When I first turned it on, it took 3 hours to drain the battery. (starting from 98% or so)
And I did calibration thing so that the battery runs more "efficiently"
Of course, I didn't expect that calibration would make the battery last longer, but no matter what,
I only get 3 hours of battery life and I'm not even doing something that would drain my battery fast.
I just do simple web surfing and word documenting on about 30-40% brightness (or even lower sometimes)
And I get only 3 hours of bettery time.
So is this because my MBP has four i7 cores or or what?
Previous MBP 15'' models seem to last at least around 5 hrs doing exactly same thing.
And considering that I have been using my MBP only for 5 days or so, I'm worried that the battery life will become even less!
    Maybe like 2 hrs?
Is this a particular issue with my laptop, that I can return and exchange to new model or get fixed without fees?
Or is it just built this way that all the MBP 2011 15'' models have this kind of short battery life?

OMG turning off the Bluetooth just gave me like extra 3 hours of battey time! (6 hrs total)
I didn't even know it was turned on in the first place because I never touched it.
I guess bluetooth is on as a default setting.
Thank you so much for advice.
I feel so stupid, but please be understanding since it's actually my first MacBook.
But I'm really glad to find out that I was wasting battery with bluetooth on, and now I can get better battery time.
    Thanks once again!

  • Mid 2011 Macbook Air Painfully slow.

Mid 2011 Macbook Air Painfully slow.
Hey everyone.  I am writing about my 13 inch Mid 2011 Macbook Air.
Recently it has been extremely slow and on occasion has not started up.
I have reset the PRAM and SMC already, yet it is still very slow.  I have a couple theories about what might have caused it, are they plausible?
Theory 1:  It’s a software problem. I tried to upgrade to 10.8.2 but halfway through the upgrade the computer restarted and somehow I was still on 10.8.1.  For fear of a big issue happening I didn’t try to upgrade again. Perhaps it is a flaw in Apple’s software update?
The important thing to note about this update is that I tried to install 10.8.2 around a month or two weeks BEFORE I started having problems.  So if these issues were due to 10.8.2’s failed update then it certainly was a delayed reaction.
I would of course like to update to 10.8.2 BUT as my computer is acting EXTREMELY slow and having trouble turning on occasionally I am worried the software update will completely brick the machine.  Is that possible?  Should I actually finish through with the software update?
Theory 2:  It was an electricity problem.
The computer died when I was sitting at a café plugged into their wall sockets.  A few days later when I came back to the same spot with my old macbook which is now being used in lieu of the Air it suddenly turned black for a little while. Sensing it might be an electricity surge or something with their system I unplugged the cable.  I am not sure if that was paranoia though.
Can an electricity surge or a bad outlet fry a computer?  Can it fry the ram so the computer is extremely slow? Does that theory hold any water?
Thanks for your help diagnosing this problem.
    All the best.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then either copy or drag it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
    Step 1
Copy or drag — do not type — the line below into the Terminal window, then press return:
    kextstat -kl | awk '!/com\.apple/{printf "%s %s\n", $6, $7}'
Post the lines of output (if any) that appear below what you just entered (the text, please, not a screenshot.) You can omit the final line ending in “$”.
    Step 2
    Repeat with this line:
    sudo launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.(apple|openssh|vix)|edu\.mit|org\.(amavis|apache|cups|isc|ntp|postfix|x)/{print $3}'
This time, you'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning.
Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.
    Step 3
    launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.apple|edu\.mit|org\.(x|openbsd)/{print $3}'
    Step 4
    ls -1A /e*/mach* {,/}L*/{Ad,Compon,Ex,Fram,In,Keyb,La,Mail/Bu,P*P,Priv,Qu,Scripti,Servi,Spo,Sta}* L*/Fonts 2> /dev/null
Important: If you formerly synchronized with a MobileMe account, your me.com email address may appear in the output of the above command. If so, anonymize it before posting.
    Step 5
osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to get name of every login item' 2> /dev/null
Remember, steps 1-5 are all drag-and-drop or copy-and-paste, whichever you prefer — no typing, except your password. Also remember to post the output.
    You can then quit Terminal.

I have an SBS 2011 domain with 2 servers(SBS2011 Premium) The SBS box acts as domain controller and the second server runs Server 2008R2 and has SQL 2008R2 on it for Dynamics GP and Dynamics CRM 2011 and hosts the Sharepoint Foundation 2010 Databases. Is

  • How can I connect my Early 2011" Macbook Pro 13" inch, with a generic Mini Display Port to HDMI connector, to a LG 32LD340 LCD TV, using Mountain Lion 10.8.2?

I have an Early 2011" macbook pro 13 inch (core i5 2.3ghz 4gb ram 320hdd) with Mountain Lion 10.8.2, and I want to connect it via Mini DP to HDMI connector, and a HDMI cable to a LCD TV LG 32LD340. When I had Lion OS, I had no problems at all.

If you have an external drive equal to or larger than your internal HD, clone your internal to it with either Carbon Copy Cloner or Super Duper. Test the clone to make sure it's bootable. Then upgrade either one. Try it out first.
