  • HELP: SimplePass that apart from open web pages, can also run applications

    Operating System: Windows 7
Good, to buy my laptop HP Pavilion m6, I came a version of SimplePass in which could add web pages, passwords and also run applications (such as games), but then I gave for updates thinking that a next version would contain improvements; but the version that was installed no longer gave the option of running applications.
Since then and I tried to find the version I had in the beginning, but without results.
If you know SimplePass versions running programs, or if you know a better version leave the download links, please put them in the answers.
In advance we thank you comment.
I used the google translator, sorry if you do not understand the text.

  • I upgraded for Firefox 4 and now my simplePass identity protection (biometric scanner) on my laptop will not work. WHY? It still works with IE but I don't use IE.

I upgraded for Firefox 4 and now my HP SimplePass Identity Protection (biometric scanner) on my laptop will not work. WHY? It still works with IE but I don't use IE. It worked with the previous Firefox version but now when I use the internet, it doesn't even acknowledge I have the scanner. When I run my finger over it, it opens the settings panel but does not allow use of the already saved information or allow new information to be entered. I need this corrected. Any suggestions?

I asked this same question, and just received a response:
"Thank you for contacting DigitalPersona. There will be no update releases
for DigitalPersona Personal in the future. There will be no updates for
Firefox 4 nor Internet Explorer 9. IF they work they work, if they do
not work with DPPersonal, then you will have to decide to either keep
DPPersonal and forgo Firefox 4 or IE 9, or vice versa. DigitalPersona
is leaving the consumer market and is focusing on business applications.
In fact, DigitalPersona Personal will not longer be supported after
    Mid-April of this year.
We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause. Sincerely, Tech Team "
In other words, there will be NO update.

  • HP Simplepass not working with Windows 8.1

Hi everyone, I'm not sure if I'm in the right section, so please tell me if I'm not. First of all, here are my specs: System Model: HP ENVY TS 15 Notebook PCProcessor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40GHz, 2401 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)OS Name: Microsoft Windows 8.1Version: 6.3.9600 Build 9600 So, I bought this computer with Windows 8 and I originally had some problems with Simplepass but I got it to work. I actually only use it to login to my computer from the lock screen. Since I've updated to Windows 8.1, nothing is working anymore. I can't use the fingerprint reader to logon (but the biometric device is visible and working in Device Manager). So, I told myself that Simplepass probably reset it's database but here's what happens when I try to go in Simplepass. I can access Simplepass by using my Windows password (Master password). I now have access to the "Manage my websites" part of Simplepass. When I click on "Set up Windows Log On", it again asks me to put my Windows password. I then put my password in, but it says "The Windows logon password you entered does not match. Please try again." and I have the right password... I've tried repairing Simplepass, reinstalling it via HP Recovery Manager and nothing has worked so far. I know that upgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 made me use a Microsoft account instead of a local account...maybe that messed up Simplepass? I don't really care what I use, I just want to be able to use my fingerprint reader. On top of that, the new option with Windows 8.1 that lets us sign in using a fingerprint dosen't even respond when I click on it... Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time! Jerome

Jerome, There are a number of things going on - at least as far as I can tell:Some computers have a compatible fingerprint sensor that can be run with the Native Windows 8.1 fingerprint logon mechanics.   For those machines, the built in fingerprint driver installed by the latest Windows Updates, seems to be enough. For those machines in a particular list of compatible sensor types, there is a download available that addresses Windows 7, 8, 8.1 fingerprint logon, that is, fingerprint logon for Windows but without any support for website login.  The keywords are "compatible sensor type" - the download only addresses certain computers that have a particular sensor hardware built in.  Usually this is not an issue for folks as most of us want more than "just windows" logon. For everyone else - one must depend on a third-party driver, like the Validity drivers that are normally supplied by HP.  The problem is that HP has not yet released all the drivers for the "everyone else" group for Windows 8.1 OS. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I do see that you found a driver for the Eagle Sensor for Windows 8.1 and dated 30-Oct-2013 >> good news! sp63418 Validity Eagle Sensor V 4.5.228.0 Win8.1 64bit [Operating Systems]W8.164=OEM[Devices]USB\VID_138A&PID_0050="Validity Eagle Sensor(WBF) (PID=0050)"----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Remember, this is guesswork on my part.  I have deepened my search and have yet to find another way to do this - I still think we do need the updated compatible driver for your computer. If you would like to try once again to force the Validity Sensor driver to work, you might try the following: Close all extra programs (email, Facebook, games, etc.) Remove the current Driver and DeleteWindows key + X > M (Opens Device Manager) > BIOMETRICS > Right-Click on your validity sensor driver >Properties > Uninstall > in the prompt to remove the current driver >> tick the box to allow the removal >Proceed with the uninstall process When the uninstall is complete, shut down the system to prevent the kernel from hibernating:                                                  Complete ShutdownWindows key > type anywhere on the Start Screen: command prompt >RIGHT-CLICK on the Command Prompt box that shows up on the left side of the screen >From the bottom ribbon, select "Run as Administrator"  > Opens the command line >If the User Account Control asks, click "Yes" to allow the command to proceed >In the Command Prompt window, type the following command: Shutdown /s /t 0             Reference: Shutdown Syntax

  • HP Simplepass no longer functioning properly.

I recently had to refresh my computer, once that was completed My simplepass was no longer functioning and have been unable to use the biometric scan.
When I go to control panel and look it up, this is what is displayed.
I have gone through the process that was posted on a previous thread. ( https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx?cid=56113256B09443F6&resid=56113256B09443F6!25430&app=WordPdf )
Unfortunately the steps that are listed here have not helped me at all. I have tried all that has been posted.
When I open SimplePass these are the screens that I am able to see.
It am not able to get to the screen where I am able to register finger prints for log in.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program. Each time it stated I would lose all previous data and fingerprints that were saved.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I still haven't been able to get the program or the reader to work properly.
I have tried all other solutions posted on related Simplepass Threads, None have worked for me.
    Some Help Is Greatly Appreciated!!!

  • Impossible to access with hp SimplePass

    Hello!
I recently formatted my hp dv6-6159sl (mintaining the same operating system Windows 8.1) and since than I no longer access Windows with fingerprint reader. In the logon screen Windows, as access option, shows only the password but not the fingerprint. Also, I tried to install Recovery Manager but the driver does not work.  Also, do not work even drivers Hp Support Assistant and Hp Update. So, I can not install any of all these softwares.
    What can I do? Thanks.

    HI @Aryg ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
It is an awesome  place to find answers and information!
For you to have the best experience in the HP forum I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide Learn How to Post and More
When I checked the software and driver page for your notebook, I noticed that Windows 8.1 is not a supported Operating System on your notebook.   Windows 8.1 may work well on your notebook but because it has been untested by HP they will not provide updated drivers and software for your notebook.   Downloading or Updating Software and Drivers for HP Computers
You stated you formatted the drive, was the recovery partition also formatted. If you go to Disk Management and show hidden partitions is the recovery partition intact?
For the fingerprint reader to work it would need a validity sensor driver.  As there is not one listed on the driver page for your notebook I am unable to look for a  specific update.
Have you done all your Windows updates?
Here is a link to an update for the Simplepass software and Windows 8 that you could try.  sp61399.exe .

  • SimplePass

SimplePass makes me want to smash this computer into little pieces ... it pops up every 2 freakin seconds when I type and the computer was purchased to replace my last work computer which was also an HP ... I am so unimpressed with this one ...... I have no desire to store all my passwords or my fingerprint on my computer. The only posts on here about SimplePass are from 2013 and back ... it is now 2015 ... I need to know how I can remove simplePass from my computer without screwing up everything else it may be attached to. If I can't remove it then how can I make it so it stops popping up .... there NO optons to disable it (well, to the naked eye) ... I am extrememly electronically challenged so anything that someone tells me needs to be dummied down for me .... and yes, my company does have an IT department but last time I let them have free range of remotely fixing my computer they screwed up what was already on my computer, didn't fix what the problem was and then had the nerve to tell me my best recourse would be to delete everything and then re-install everything .....
Thank you for any help ......
    kim

    Hi Kim,
The HP SimplePass Identity Protection Software is a fingerprint management/security application.
You can disable Validity Sensor in device manager or uninstall HP SimplePass Software and reinstall when you want to....
If it still asks for a password to logon follow the steps below.
    1. Start Run.
    2. Type netplwiz
    3.  Users Tab
    4. Uncheck users must enter a user name and password to use this computer
    5. Click Apply, Ok
Once you do this, try whether again simple pass asks you to swipe or not.
Let me know once you are done with this.
    Hope this works.

  • Can you edit HP simplepass pin authentication to remove a website?

I started using Hp simplepass pin authentication to facilitate logging into various websites but I want to remove a couple of websites that dont work well with hp simplepass.  However, I can't find a way of removing a website that Ihave told hp simplepass in the past to log me into.  Is there a way of editing my choices I have made of which websites I want hp simplepass to log me into?
I am using an hp pavilion laptop with w8.1.

    Hey @mjones78 ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you're trying to remove password information for particular websites in the HP SimplePass software.
You should be able to accomplish this by following this document: Using HP SimplePass Fingerprint Reader (Windows 8).
You can see there are a few ways passwords are stored. Icons and Webcards will need to be edited to completely remove support for a particular page in the SimplePass software. You can use the + and - buttons in the bottom left corner of the list of websites to add or remove websites from the list of cards and icons.
Hopefully this is what you're looking for.

  • Simplepass export to other program

First I have to say that I absolutely love(d) having a fingerprint scanner on my laptop. However, the SimplePass software just really isn't up to snuff.
That being said, I just got a new work laptop and would like to store my SimplePass passwords on it. However, the new laptop doesn't have a fingerprint scanner.
Besides for printing out the webcards, is there any way that SimpePass can export the data for use in another password manager (KeePass for instance) or even Exel? This is a huge oversight if this functionality is missing.

Hi Andy thanks, I did that first. 2nd time, it prompted me to "Bounce Realtime to Action" under the "Process" heading. this returned the file in good order.
then I tried to export the video to Shake. Shake asks for a placeholder and a script. I pointed both at my external drive but it said that the drive was out of space. In reality though, there is lots of space left on the drive.
So I looked at the permissions -- opened all to "read & write" but that dident help either.
why would it be saying that the disk is full?
then I tried aiming it at 2 other drives (also with space on them) drive 2 said it was full and after aiming it to drive 1, I got a crash and an auto error message sent.
    best, M/
