HP slate 6 update 4.4 Kitkat

Hello,
I have a HP slate 6 voicetab and today I got a notification for a new update voor Android.
I let the phone update, but now I can't use my phone anymore.
It shows a screen with the 'HP' logo and coloured lines going around it.
Sometimes the phone shows the beginning screen where I have to enter my pincode, but it goes back to the other screen before I even had the time to enter my pincode.
It also won't shut down. When I try to shut it down, it startes right back up to the 'HP' logo screen.
I already took the battery out and took my SIM-cards out, but nothing works.
I can't use my phone now and I don't know what to do to make it work again.
Is there anyone who knows what I can do??
Robin

I faced the same issue. But by trial and errors, I could install it but my data is lost. First switch off the phone. then press power on button and volume up arrow button together for about 30 seconds. a screen is opened. Scroll down by using volume buttons and select option wipe data factory reset. It will then wipe off the data . Once data is wiped off, then select option reboot system now. Your kitkat version will be installed successfully. But your data is lost.

Oh goodness,SLEEPER888. We wish you didn't have this problem while trying to complete this update. You have done quite a bit of troubleshooting on your own. If the phone update does not take, we would need to replace it with the warranty. Is it still locked up?

    Hello @levzkane,
I would suggest performing a System Recovery on your device. Please refer to the following instructions:
Performing a system recovery on the HP Slate 6 VoiceTab and Slate 7 VoiceTab
In order to perform Recovery, you will need to download the Restore Image for your device here:
    HP Slate 7 6101ra VoiceTab - Software & Drivers
Good luck & hope this helps!

  • HP Slate 7 Voice tab showing Android icon after I tried updating JellyBeans to KitKat

Hi,I got an Android update information on my HP Slate 7 voice tab for updating the JellyBeans to KitKat version. Once I followed the instruction the tab got hangd and shows the Android icon.I tried all online instructions to reboot but to no avail like pressing both the buttons at a time: volume up & down plus the power off buttons and release them once hp icon comes up.It did not work. Any help with the problem? Regards,Ravishankar Rai

Hey , Welcome to the HP forums. You can download a recovery image for your tablet here:Google Android KitKat Restore Image for Slate 7 VoiceTab - IndiaGoogle Android KitKat Restore Image for Slate 7 VoiceTab -South East AsiaUse the following steps to recover: 1. Download the update.zip for your device and copy the file to the root directory of an empty micro-SD card (at least 1 GB, FAT 32 format). Do not unzip the file.
    2. Fully charge the tablet and then disconnect the power from the device.
    3. Power off the device.
If your tablets micro-SD slot is on the side or bottom of your tablet skip to step 5.  4a. Place the tablet on a flat surface, display panel side down, with the release notch towards you.
NOTE: Before positioning the tablet with the display panel facing down, make sure the work surface is clear of any foreign objects. Failure to follow this caution can result in damage to the display panel assembly.
4b. Remove the back cover. Use the release notch to remove the back cover.
4c. Insert the micro-SD memory card into the reader slot.
4d. Reverse the procedure detailed above to install the back cover and continue to step 6. 5. Insert the micro-SD card into the micro-SD card reader.
    6. Press and hold the volume up button and power button at the same time.
    7. When the HP logo appears on the screen, release all the buttons.
    8. When the Android system recovery menu appears, use the volume down button to highlight "apply update from external storage".
    9. Press the power button to validate "apply update from external storage".
    10. Use the volume down button to highlight the software recovery file, update.zip.
    11. Press the power button to select the update.zip file and launch the recovery.
NOTE: Wait until the entire recovery process finishes. The device might seem unresponsive at times (multiple reboots and black screens) when it is performing the update. If this does not resolve the issue please call our technical support: Phone Assist Worldwide. Thanks.

  • HP Slate 21 Pro Kitkat 4.4.2 update issues

Nice they've finally updated us to Kitkat now everyone else is being updated to Lollipop.
    Bugs now introduced with KK
    1. Physical keyboard numlock. In JB it remembered I always had it on. Now it always boots up off. Change it to remember or give a settings option to start it 'on'
    2. Location - I switch it off, some app/system app keeps switching it on. Never did this under JB. Fix it
    3. Removing apps via 'system/app' - once the toast appears saying it's uninstalled an app, the app stays in the list and the list doesn't respond to clicks. You have to click on 'system/users' for example and then back into 'system/app' to remove the next app. Please fix this glaring BUG.
    Many thanks
    Adrian

  • HP slate 6 voice tab dual sim (HSTNH-B19C) factory image needed

    Hi,
I bought HP slate 6 voice tab dual sim (HSTNH-B19C) from Karachi 6 months back. Since then it was working fine on jellybean 4.2.2 until i got a system update Message from Hp. So i updated it with kitkat 4.4.2 successfully.
Now the problem is that most of the 3rd party applications doesn't support it. The updated software is working fine but i want to revert back to the jellybean 4.2.2 that originally came with the tablet.
If anyone knows from where can i get the factory image than please share a link.
If anyone have a same model with backup image of original firmware then please contact me on my cell no. [edited Cell Number by Moderator]
    Thankyou.

    Hey @Paracha ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you're looking to downgrade back to JellyBean on your HP Slate 6 VoiceTab.
The factory image files are hosted on the HP website for your product. The model you have posted is actually the regulatory information for the battery and not the tablets model. If you can provide me with the exact model I may be able to offer a link to the factory image.
For information on finding your model number please see this guide: Locating the HP Slate 6 VoiceTab and Slate 7 VoiceTab model number.
If you would like the file faster you can go to HP - Drivers & Downloads and enter the model number. Once entered you will find the factory image listed under the Drivers section for your device. Keep in mind that typically the Android OS will fault when trying to downgrade and often rooting the device or using third party apps/software is needed to do this which HP cannot provide support for.
    Thanks!

  • Note 4 SM-N910A Update

    Hello,
My name is Saif, I am from Jordan. I have got a new unlocked Mobile Phone from AT&T US (Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910A). I am using the phone here in Jordan and its working fine. The problem I cannot update it from KitKat to Lollipop!
So I have the below inquiries. Could you please send them to someone who can help me?! PLEASE!
    1) how can I update to lollipop? If OTA then should I insert AT&T SIM even while I am here in Jordan?
    2) If I update to Lollipop would it lock the phone or not?
    Thanks a lot,
Saif [edited for privacy-please do not post personal or unique information such as but not limited to full names, employee ID numbers, email addresses, phone numbers, account numbers, etc.]

Since your not in the USA you wont get updates with that phone.  There is also no work arounds to get it updates on the phone either.  The bootloader is encrypted.  Also note your hotspot feature wont work.
My suggestion is sell the att note 4 and get an unlocked note 4 for your country.

How about you get around to releasing Lollipop 5.1 or 5.1.1 to Samsung S5 customers? On reading the terminology post I came across this... "What is a showstopper?A “showstopper” is a bug or behaviour on a device’s hardware or software that  is deemed so serious that we cannot release the device and/or software to customers. It essentially “stops the show” with the “show” being the device or software launch.
Showstopper issues can appear in many (in fact all) parts of a devices hardware/software implementation but in practice they are more common in some areas. Some common ones include compliance to emergency calling regulations, stability issues such as reproducible device resets/hangs, reproducible voice-call drops, network connection issues,  poor data performance or coverage issues."  Why was Lollipop 5.0 ever released to Samsung S5 when you knew full well it has a memory leak issue. I can barely use my phone.  That's a show stopper for me and your slack release of updates quite frankly is a show stopper for my ongoing custom with Telstra.

  • Acer Iconia A1-830 and Blackberry z30 Hotspot Connection After OS Upgrade To KitKat 4.4.2

Despite receiving an update for OS KitKat 4.4.2 my Blackberry z30 is still unable to connect to my Acer Iconia A1-830 via HOTSPOT or BLUETOOTH TETHERING. Obviously this is a software issue because the original OS Jellybean 4.2.4 was working fine before the upgrade to KitKat 4.4.2. Acer need to provide a fix so that my Acer Iconia A1-830 and my Blackberry z30 can connect via HOTSPOT or BLUETOOTH TETHERING.

Anything happening with this? I have 3 Acer B1-750s, Android 4.4.4 Kernel 3.10.20+Acer Image version: Acer_AV0K0_B1-750_RV03RC02_WW_GEN1Build #: Acer_AV0K0_B1-750_1.012.00_WW_GEN1 Steps to reproduce:1. Turn on the blackberry hotspot2. Enable WiFi on the tablet3. Select the Blackberry hotspot from the list of available networks4. Enter the WPA pass phrase5. Watch as the Acer repeatedlt tries (and fails) to connect. An open unsecured hotspot is not an option, and in any event the blackberry has no option to disable security. The Acer does connect to Android and iPhone Hotspots with no trouble, but I use a Blackberry in my business operations so those devices don't count.Really need this to work or the Acer tablets I purchased have to be returned for something that works with Blackberry Hotspot, by way of investigating this problem I now know Nexus works properly, as does Samsung)

  • Lag on walkman

    HI
I am having a lag while trying to play mp3s on my e1 dual. i tried using different mp3 players including walkman with its latest update but i m still having some lag. Sometime its frequently sometime not. so what shuld i do. i m updated os to kitkat.

Try performing a system repair as this will often fix issues after an upgrade - This will factory reset your phone
Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the onscreen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process
If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

  • External speaker not loud (xloud not working)

    Hi everyone.
The external speaker is not producing enough sound to hear a ringtone or music . There was a huge difference when i was using the xloud function 2 months ago.
I took a backup and used the SUS to update with latest kitkat, still the same problem

It might be a hardware issue, you should stop by a Sony repair center

  • Hangup on enabling hyper-v on HP pavilion 15-n259-tx Windows 8.1 pro

    Hi to all,
I can not enable Hyper-V on my laptop HP Pavilion 15-n259TX. The OS is Win8.1 Pro. Every time I enable "Virtualization" to Ënabled" from BIOS then save changes, laptop just displays HP logo with revolving loading dots.

Tried disabling Wi-Fi and BT and rebooting the laptop. Does not help.
    Can somebody help me ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Multiple attempts to update the BT drivers from HP website and Mediatek website failed to solve the issue.
Disabling and uninstalling the BT driver from Device Manager also does not solve the issue.
Removing the device from the Registry solved the issue as I did not need BT.
The BT device is : PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_3298.
Search for this device in the registry (regedit.exe) and delete it.
If you need BT along with Hyper-v on HP Laptops, you are out of luck as the issue is not resolved yet.
