HP Slate 7 Voice Tab - Audio Quality Issue

I see drastic change in audio quality in HP Slate 7 Voice Tab after an upgrade to recent Kit Kat update. Songs and other media is not all audible , Volume through external speaker is very very less at maximum volume also.Tried with many song, HD videos but issue remains same and feels its related to new android version update on HP Slate 7 voice tab.
So would like to know is there any new update or solution for this issue.

Hey @S_Thomas ,
Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand you're experiencing issues with audio quality on your Slate 7 Voice Tab after updating to KitKat.
How to check for system updates:
You must be connected to the Internet to check for updates. Use the following steps to check for system updates on your tablet.
1. On the Home screen, touch the All apps icon, and then touch the Settings icon.
2. In the System section, touch About tablet.
Figure 1: About tablet.
3. Touch System updates.
Figure 2: System updates.
4. Touch Check now.
Figure 3: Check now.
5. Install any available system updates.
If no updates are available, or updates do not resolve the issue try the following.
Clear all cache on the tablet: Settings > Storage > Cached Data. You should have the option to erase all the cached data here.
Hard reset: While the tablet is on, press and hold the power button for 8+ seconds to force shut down. Turn the tablet back on and see if that helps.
Factory reset: Make sure you backup any important files or information first. Settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset.
If this fails to resolve the issue please call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the following link to get the support number for your region: Phone Assist Worldwide.
Thanks.

  • Poor On Call Audio Quality issue

    Hi guys,
Im aware everyone has issues while listening to music via the headphones as i have that too. Thats something i can live with.
However, what i cant live it is poor on call quality issues without the headphones. The other person on the call doesnt sound all that loud, clear n crisp to me. I keep having to press the phone more towards my ear to hear them louder and better. Its sub par. Its worse than any phone ive used.
I just switched from an iPhone to this and im very dissappointed.
NOKIA PLEASE FIX THESE AUDIO QUALITY ISSUES!!! This needs more addressing than the battery issues..

Happens to me on Lumia 800 (12070). Usually at the beginning of the call I can hear the other party well but the call quality seems to degrade slowly over the course of the call. I've tried pressing the phone closer to ear and going volume up or down but in some points of the call I have really hard time hearing what they're saying. Then it goes away and I can hear well again. It's not so much volume issue rather than the call getting really unclear.

  • Flash PLayer Audio Quality Issue

    Howdy,
I am having a strange issue where I am hearing quality issues in the playback of sound on any flash content (youtube etc ..). The background music or backing tracks all play fine, but the Vocals / Voices in the video are quiet and distorted.  The best way to explain it is, that I can hear the music on a music video ... but the words that the artist is singing aren't there.
    Strange ....
I am running Windows 7 64-bit prof. on a brand new machine.
    i7 X980X
    12 gig memory
Realtex onboard sound from an EVGA X58 motherboard.
I have tried clearing and re-installing the installs, codec packs ... etc ... additionally this problem is present any time I play flash content in any browser or with a stand alone flash player.
Also, my sound works fine in games and local audio. And it passes all the surround sound tests, so I am sure the cables are hooked up appropriately.
    Any thoughts ?
    Thx !

Sadly, none of those seemed to help.
I was able to track down the issue. I have a new graphics card, and GTX 580
with HDMI support. It also installs an audio driver so it can pull out the
audio and send it out the HDMI port to a monitor with speakers / TV .. etc.
Once I disabled those drivers, everything started working normally. It was
    some very strange symptoms.
    Thanks,

  • Audio Quality issues in You Tube

    Hi Guys
I am really struggling to work out how to submit my music video to 'You Tube' without severe degradation of audio quality.
    V. Happy with the vid. side - H.264 output with optimised parameters on all fronts (debatable I know - but I guess I'm aware of those parameters)
Trouble is the whole point is the music - which just loses it.
The export from origin added to project in Premiere is 24bit, 96khz sample rate - mastered to optimised preference and sounds pretty cool in direct
comparison to random productions from other sources.
(ie: your favourite band music through stereo system (decent speaker output) via CD Rom)
Have attempted all available audio parameters within CS6 to no avail.
Whatever I do - the audio sounds the same ie: diminished
I know 'You Tube' compresses again but how can I avoid this? - Would love to hear from anyone who has had, is having the same issues!!
Suspect that this requires some kind of server side 'pay for' service, I just can't identify where.(or that my master is crap)
    Kind Regards

You won't even get CD quality sound out of YouTube, let alone anything approaching 24/96 quality.  I think you're only avenue for delivering that is DVD-Audio, which never really took off.

  • CD/MP3 Audio Quality Issues FCP 5

    Hi all;
    I'm running FCP 5.3 on Tig 10.4.3
the video in my HD PAL project behaves fine.
the audio is taken from an mp3 file that came from a CD. it has been converted to 48.000 and 16 bit stereo, which matches my sequence settings, which were those in the HD Preset.
I know these are common compression issues, but this is different. The audio plays fine in the viewer, and it also LOOKs good when I double click on it (from within the sequence) to see the waveform in the viewer.
But it all goes wrong when I actually play it from the timeline: it goes all crackly and fuzzy and slightly slowed.
This only does not happen if in my sequence settings I choose "uncompressed" from the compression settings, but I obviously want to remain in HDV compression as far as the video goes, so I am not willing to make the whole project uncompressed.
I tried lots of different settings and ways of exporting and recompressing the audio file, but nothing seems to work. Also, this same file used to play just fine from the timeline in FCP 4.5... but I had to upgrade to FCP 5 because it supports HDV, which is what I shot.
    Muchas gracias for any help.

  • HTML5 Canvas mode audio quality issues

Trying out the HTML5 Canvas mode of Flash CC 2014, and have banged right into a couple of show-stopping problems with exporting audio--
Every audio file I've given it, Flash has converted it to MP3 with a loud click at the end that is not present in the original.
In HTML Canvas mode, it seems there is no option to modify the Default compression setting for audio. So the only way to export MP3s as anything other than 16 kbps mono is to manually change the compression on every single file. Am I overlooking something?

Yes, I already pointed out in the first post that you can change the compression at the individual asset level and that there doesn't seem to be any way to change it in the publish dialog.
Seems a bit absurd that the ability to change the default compression got left out of HTML5 mode. This has been core Flash functionality since pretty much forever.

  • Poor Audio Quality From Exchange 2010 UM

    Hi,
I'm experiencing an issue with our Exchange 2010 Unified Messaging system in that the audio quality is suddenly rather poor.  We are using Cisco Callmanager 7 for our phone system.  When you call an automated attendant, hit the "messages"
button or call the extension to go to voicemail, the audio you hear "crackles," or sounds like it is skipping slightly in that there are brief but noticable interruptions in the audio.
The audio quality issue only occurs when you are connected to voicemail or automated attendants, but not when conversing to other people on phone calls, so that leads me to believe either some interoperability between CM and Exchange UM is malfunctioning, or
just something in UM is a problem.  Also, if you listen to voice messages through the computer instead of over the phone, the quality is fine.  The problem seems to be mainly with calling in to the UM system.
What can I do to properly troubleshoot this?  I have found the Exchange 2010 UM Troubleshooting Assistant, but I have to wait another 2 weeks before I can install Service Pack 1 due to downtime window restrictions.  I'm not coming up with a lot of
documentation involving this, so if anyone has any information they think might help me get to the bottom of this I would apprecaite it.
    Thank you.

Cisco Callmanger and UM are on the same LAN.
I highly doubt that QoS is the culprit here, simply because there aren't any issues with phone calls.  If QoS was dropping VOIP packets, then IP phone to IP phone calls would also have poor audio quality.  If I call somebody on another IP
phone on the LAN, the audio quality is perfect.  It is only when you are connected to the UM system that you hear the poor audio quality -- either listening to voicemail prompts, listening to actual voicemails, listening to the automated attendant --
anything in which UM is on one end of the phone call.
It also seems strange that this is somewhat intermittent.  When the issue first occurred, it was definitely happening every time you called in to the UM system and I could repeat the issue by simply pushing my messages button and listening to the welcome
and prompt for a PIN.  I restarted the Exchange server at night, and the next day it was intermittent with people calling the help desk to say they were getting poor audio quality from UM but when I tried to repeat the issue I could not.
I also have users complaining of intermittent slowness when using Outlook, which may be totally unrelated.  I have been running Perf logs on the Exchange server for the last couple of weeks othe CPU, Network Connections, Exchange RPC totals, etc.
and can't find anything that is using too many resources.

  • Poor imported audio quality in Captivate 4

    Hi Everyone,
I'm having some serious audio quality issues with Captivate 4.  I'm recording my audio in Audacity and importing it into Captivate.   The audio sounds great in Audacity, Windows Media Player, iTunes, and everything else I've tested it in.  However, once I import it into Captivate and press play, it sounds horrible.  It's thin, tinny, and robotic.  The degradation in quality is considerable.  I've tried recording my audio as both .mp3s and .wavs, but they both sound bad once imported.  I've also downloaded all of the available patches, including the patch specifically designed to address poor audio quality in Captivate 4.  I've tinkered with every audio setting I can find.  No luck.  I have noticed that the shorter/smaller audio files are less garbled, and really short files are sometimes not garbled at all.  I would record directly into Captivate, but the audio sounds even worse when I do that.  Anyone have any idea how I can remedy this situation?  Just for background info, I'm running Captivate 4 on a macbook running XP via parallels.
    Thanks

    Hi,
I responded here in the forums because I figure other people might need this info as well.
    In Audacity, I go to:
Preferences -> Quality -> Default Sample Format and set it to 16 bit.
    Then click OK.
When you record new audio tracks, they should automatically be set to 16 bit.
    Does that help?
    Shawn

  • Software issues in slate 6 voice tab model

    dear sir
I have bought one HP Slate 6 voice tab in the month of February 2015. the device is now showing software issues as mentioned below:
    1. All the numbers saved in contacts are getting jumbled in to one another and numbers are getting automatically mixed with other persons contact name. due to this reason, it is very difficult for me to identify the contacts as the numbers are mix matched.
kindly resolve the issue at the earliest.

    Hey @vikash4iob ,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand the contacts on your Slate 6 Voice Tab are getting mixed up.
This could be a few different things such as having accounts set to sync with your contacts, which may be automatically changing them. It could also be the result of having the same contacts saved on your SIM card, the internal storage, or Google account.
Personally I prefer to use the SIM card to store my contacts so that should something happen to my phone I will not lose my contacts.
Try saving your contacts to your SIM and doing some cleanup. After you have them saved to the SIM remove any contacts from the internal storage and set your accounts so that they do not sync your contacts.
You may also want to try the following if that does not help.

  • HP slate 6 voice tab dual sim (HSTNH-B19C) factory image needed

    Hi,
I bought HP slate 6 voice tab dual sim (HSTNH-B19C) from Karachi 6 months back. Since then it was working fine on jellybean 4.2.2 until i got a system update Message from Hp. So i updated it with kitkat 4.4.2 successfully.
Now the problem is that most of the 3rd party applications doesn't support it. The updated software is working fine but i want to revert back to the jellybean 4.2.2 that originally came with the tablet.
If anyone knows from where can i get the factory image than please share a link.
If anyone have a same model with backup image of original firmware then please contact me on my cell no. [edited Cell Number by Moderator]
    Thankyou.

    Hey @Paracha ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you're looking to downgrade back to JellyBean on your HP Slate 6 VoiceTab.
The factory image files are hosted on the HP website for your product. The model you have posted is actually the regulatory information for the battery and not the tablets model. If you can provide me with the exact model I may be able to offer a link to the factory image.
For information on finding your model number please see this guide: Locating the HP Slate 6 VoiceTab and Slate 7 VoiceTab model number.
If you would like the file faster you can go to HP - Drivers & Downloads and enter the model number. Once entered you will find the factory image listed under the Drivers section for your device. Keep in mind that typically the Android OS will fault when trying to downgrade and often rooting the device or using third party apps/software is needed to do this which HP cannot provide support for.
