HP Software and click Scan a Document or Photo for Deskjet 3052A
I have a Deskjet 3052A. It used to have an option for HP Software and click Scan a Document or Photo. It disappeared. I uninstalled and reinstalled. Nope. Trying downloading the full featured driver. It downloads, but when I install it it only installs the Basic printing services. This happened a couple of years ago and there was a fix. Just don't remember. Any ideas. I don't want to get up and push the button on the printer everytime I need to scan.

I understand you are having some trouble with the scanning from your computer aspect of the HP software. You now have to actually get up, go to the printer physically and scan. You have uninstalled the software, reinstalled it and downloaded it and nothing seems to be working for you.
I recommend you download the HP Print and Scan Doctor and run it.

Scanning to Word won't do what you want.
You see, a scan of a page is just like a photograph of it. You have photos of letters and stuff, but no actual letters. There is a special process called "optical character recognition" (OCR) which analyses the picture in detail, and decides - hey that pattern of dots looks like it might be a letter A - and that would could be an S... it is difficult and time consuming but if the original is clear then you can get a lot of text text with the need only for careful proof reading.
Check the software which came with the scanner first. It may well offer options for OCR. Yes, Adobe Acrobat Pro can do this, but you have unnecessary complication, because you'll then need to get the text out from Acrobat to begin the tedious process of typesetting each page. To be honest, you might find retyping everything the quickest and most reliable approach. If you aren't already experienced in dealing with long documents in Word you are in for a long haul. Back up a lot, so you don't lose everything due to a mistake.
(I'm assuming you don't want a "facsimile" - a warts-and-all exact copy of each original page, as typed and scribbled, with no changes at all - that would be a different story). -

I receive an Untitled page when at a website and click on a file to load , for example a pdf file.
When at a website, I click on a file, for example a pdf file to open. A new tab comes up calling it a untitled page, file never opens. I have version 3.6.3, vista OS.

Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard came out in July of 2009 and became obsolete in July of 2011 when 10.7 Lion was introduced. Unlike earlier Operating Systems which were removed from the Apple Store when a new OS came out Apple kept Snow Leopard around for a year until 10.8 Mountain Lion came out. When Mountain Lion came out they removed Snow Leopard and Lion from the online store.
The Early 2006 model 1,1 Core Duo can only run a maximum of 10.6 Snow Leopard. The models Late 2006 Core 2 Duos 2,1 through Early 2008 4,1 can only run a maximum of 10.7 Lion. The Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody through the Mid 2010 White Unibody model 7,1 can run 10.8 Mountain Lion.
The Snow Leopard 10.6 DVD should still be available from Apple for $20. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775 to purchase it. It may still be in the Legacy Products list.
If they no longer have any in stock you will have to buy it from eBay or Apple resellers that still have stock. But you will have to pay a premium since the DVDs are no longer being made. Snow Leopard DVDs are already up to $100 on Amazon.

How do I scan a document, and where does it appear once scanned?
I have located the scan feature in System Preferences/Print&Scan and successfully scanned a document so it appeared in the preview pane.
How do I find the scanned document?You can also use the Image Capture application in the Applications folder to scan. It will allow you to select a scan location and various other options.

Officejet 7610 wide format: can't scan legal documents to pdf
I am having a problem scanning legal documents from the ADF and/or off the glass.
only cropped letter size gets created.
I believe I am using newest model with the newest drivers.
Just purchased and installed drivers from the internet.
I need work-a-round or other fix.There is no setting in the Front Panel to set to Legal. All paper size settings need to be done on the SW. I believe you have installed the overall SW.
Select HP Office 7610 series icon from pc desktop. Otherwise Click > Program > HP > HP Officejet 7610 series to open HP Printer Assistant.
1. Select Set Preferences.
2. Select Paper/Quality.
3. Change Paper Size to Legal.
4. Click OK to save setting.
Now by default the scan target will be scanned to Legal size. Take note by default if there is A4 or Letter siz paper and when setting is at legal, then these paper sizes will be scanned to legal sizes.
Alternatively if you do not want to set the default size to legal, then you can go to HP Printer Assistant. Select "Scan a document or Photo". Select the appropriate settings and do a SW scan.

To scan:
You may press the start scan button on the printers control panel or use the HP solution center that must be installed in your computer to scan a document or photo.
Scan to email:
Some printers don't have the option in the control panel for scan to email. Mostly it is with the HP solution center software that should be installed in your printer.
Note:
For Windows the software is called HP solution center
For Mac it is called HP utility

I got a new 3 in 1 that does not use HP Solution center; uses HP Scan. I scan many things in each session and cannot figure how to keep the program open. Every time I hit done, program closes; i have to wait till it opens again. These are not pages in a single doc but individual docs to be in their own files.

Please try (may be slightly a bit difference from printer to printer, but very close):
Double click printer icon on desktop,
Select Scan a Document or Photo,
Put the first page on the glass (face down),
Check options (size, dpi ...), and select Scan document to file,
Click Scan - machine will scan the first page
Remove the first page on the glass, put the second page,
Click + (plus sign) It sits on the left hand side of a red x
Machine will scan the second page, put 3rd page on the glass and click + again ..... to the end then click Save
Click Done after Save
