HP Solution Centre cannot run

When I try to open HP Solution centre to perform a scan I get the message
"HP Solution Centre cannot open because your device installation is not complete"
I have checked the control panel programs and the HP Solution Centre is in the list of programs
I ran the "HP Scan doctor" program and was able to get a test scan from my HP PSC 1510 but I still get the same message on the Solution Centre.
I have unplugged the printer power and then powered up again but still no luck.
I am running Windows 7 64 bit
Any advice on how to 're-activate' Solution Centre please?

Hi holidays21,

  • "HP Solution Center cannot run because your device installation is not complete"

I cannot use HP Solution Center because I only get this message when I start it: "HP Solution Center cannot run because your device installation is not complete". I am running Windows XP with an HP PhotoSmart Premium. I can print just fine and the printer is recognized by the PC and the network. I get the same problem whether connected wirelessly or through USB. I have re-installed all software multiple times. Please advise on how to get Solution Center up and running.

I had to do a total uninstall and reinstall of the driver. However, as you will see from this and other Support Forum threads there seem to be multiple stumbling blocks to the uninstall/reinstall process. Seems very glitchy. After nearly two days of unsuccessful tries I finally got it done. I did find three different official HP scenarios for the process, including one automatically sent to my desktop by HP upon one of the earlier failures. That sequence did not work work for me, but it was close--I got a partial install. But on another HP help file titled "Product Software Installation stalls or stops in Windows 7 with a USB connected product HP..." I found a six step process (with details for each), and it worked for me on the second try. Here are the six steps, plus extra things I did or discovered that could have helped make it work. I did step 5b. first: downloading and saving  the HP driver file on my computer before starting other steps, since I elected not be be on the internet as I did the installation. 1. Uninstall the HP printer software. See my note below about four ways HP lists do to this. I used two of them.2. Turn off the 'terminate and stay resident programs (has to do with system configuration). See HP details.3. Clear temporary files and folders through Windows accessories.4. Disable firewalls (see my note below about this)5a. Disconned the cable from BOTH the printer itself and from the computer, BUT TURN ON the printer.5b. Get the lastest version driver for you printer from the HP site and save it where you can find it. (I did this first, before other steps, so I could install off-line)5c. Install the driver software that you saved. (see my note below about an optional step that helped me with this, so the install will complete, and not hang up)6. Enable the start up software that was turned off with step 2. (See HP details) Notes: there are versions of HP instructions that  skip steps 2 and 6 and or 3 and 4, but that would not work in my case. I describe the steps that finally worked in case they can help someone else--this has been so frustrating. This uninstall/install process seems to be very touchy and perhaps changes depending on your printer or other configuration of your computer: Note about step 1: I found an HP document that listed four ways to uninstall. On my final and successful attempt I actually used two of the techniques. First I used the HP uninstaller program from the start menu program list on my computer stored with other HP stuff there. When I rebooted it did not appear that any HP programs were removed, but who knows, perhaps this got rid of some hidden file somewhere that had been causing all of the problems. Then I used the regular uninstall process from the control panel, and that worked. All HP programs were gone upon reboot. Note about step 3: I counld not believe this would help, but did it, and again, who knows, perhaps this is critical. Note about step 4: I assumed that step two 'terminate and stay resident programs' turned off my McAfee firewall and antivirus, so I did not turn it off. And I elected to be off the internet during install because I am always fearful about turning off those programs. However, and this may be the source of problems for many people, the HP list was very specific to turn off the Windows 7 firewall. I checked it and it was running, even though I thought McAfee was in charge. So I did turn off the Windows 7 firewall. Subsequently I learned that many people who have upgraded from earlier Windows operating systems to Windows 7 have the Windows firewall operating along with their other firewall, without knowing it. Apparently this does not happen if you did a clean install of Windows 7 rather than an upgrade install. Note about step 5c: On many of my tries the installation program would not terminate or complete, and I would get a partial install that allow some functions of the printer to work, but not Solutions Center. The only way I found to prevent this was at the step near the end, where you hook up the printer, select the box that says it's okay to connect it later. The installer program dumps an icon on you desktop that allows you to connect the printer after the installation shows complete and terminates by itself. By clicking the icon and plugging the cable into computer and the powered-on-printer when directed, the device installs perfectly. That was the only way I could get a full install, or get the installation to terminate. During the two days of trying to make this work I also reinstalled the latest version of Flash player since I read that HP Solutions Center needs it to show screens on your computer about printer functions. Of course downloading Flash onto a 64-bit version of Windows 7 is a little tricky too, but not that difficult. I do not know whether that was important, but it is one more thing to try if you can't make your Solutions Center part of the printer program work. I learned way more about the unintall/install process than I ever wanted to know. Sorry to be so wordy, but after two days of frustrating work on this I thought I should share this, in case any of these ideas could help someone else who is hung up on this. Perhaps there is an easier fix somewhere. The six-step process was on an HP help site and was not even for my specific printer, but the similar list from my model did not work. Wish I knew what the secret to success might have been.

  • I cannot scan and my hp solution says cannot run because device installation is not complete

I am using windows 7 64 it. My printer is HP Photosmart eStation All-in-One Printer - C510a. I am using a wireless network and a notebook. Earlier my printer was not working, so I reinstalled the program using the cd, but now the hp solutions won't work and I cannot use the scan functioning. When i try to use it the scan feature on the zeen it just says I am unable and to use the software the printer came with. I have no idea what to do. I have to be able to scan as well as print. I don't want to uninstall or use the cd again because it took hours for me to get the printer to work. Please help and thank you

    1.  A brief, descriptive issue summary:
"HP Solution Centre Cannot Run because your device installation is not complete"
After trying all solutions re device and software installation on this forum I have not been able to resolve the issue. However I believe I have narrowed down the problem and require expert advice on how to proceed.
Taking a step back, all I want to do is to be able to SCAN MULTIPLE PAGES, perform OCR (Optional) publish/print to PDF. If you can advise me how to do ALL of this quickly and efficiently without HP Solution Centre I would also be happy. Note the following are NOT valid suggestions as they do not allow me to scan mutliple pages into a single PDF.

    X - Import/Capture to Paint

    Spoiler (Highlight to read)
My hunch is that HP Solution Centre cannot see my printer because it cannot find the CUE_Device_ID in the registry.
My hunch is that HP Solution Centre cannot see my printer because it cannot find the CUE_Device_ID in the registry.
Given I have uninstalled (Inc using the Uninstall_L4.bat) and re-installed several times, this is either because the installer is not configured correctly for Windows 7 Home Sp1 OR the HP Solution Softward is searching for the wrong identifier - i.e. "CUE_Device_ID" instead of just "DeviceID".
To help you diagnose, below is the contents of my registry for the below registry path. Point to note is that there is NO SUCH IDENTIFIER with the entry of CUE_DEVICE_ID.

    Troubleshooting performed:
I installed basic-only software/driver, then Dital Imaging Monitor and HP Solution Centre.
I received the "HP Solution Centre Cannot Run because your device installation is not complete" error.
I uninstalled all HP Software and re-installed FULL software from support site for this model (same error).
I browsed the forums, ran the uninstall l4 bat and re-installed using USB-Cable mode, but this also resulted in the same error when opening HP Solution Centre.
I Ran HP Print and Scan Doctor and this gave me the pointer that something was still wrong in the registry "A problem was found with device registration" (see attached).
I came accross the HPDiagnosticCoreUI_PSdrServer.log file and saw the specific registry path issue, and that it was not fixed by the tool, but do not know how to proceed.
Connection Method: Initially wireless but also tried USB.

Hello - Is there an HP expert in the house?? HP Expert day is today!!

  • HP Solution Centre reports unable to start as printer not installed; but I can print!!!

My Officejet Pro 8500 A909g suddenly stopped working. It was connected to my HP Pavillion dv9700 by wireless and has been for the last 6 months or so. My laptop is running on Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. I have made no software or hardware changes since I last used the printer; just a few hours ago.
I can now print again (having run through all the steps listed below), but can no longer use the HP Solution Centre to run any tasks as it reports that it 'cannot run because  the device installation is not complete'
In order to get back to printing, I did all the usual of shutting everything down...computer, router and printer...all to no avail.
Then I downloaded the latest printer software from the HP site (OJP8500V909_Full_14.exe) and first ran the uninstall section of that software; removing ALL of the HP software from my machine.
I used CCleaner to remove all traces including those from the registry as well.
I uninstalled and re-installed the software.... 3 times. (at least it gave me a chance to catch up on reading a good Terry Pratchett book)
Each time I varied the conditions relating to my antivirus... Kaspersky. First by leaving the AV running; then by switching off the AV and switching on the Windows firewall; and then finally by switching off both the AV and the Windows Firewall.
On each occasion, during the installation, the software 'finds' my printer on the network; reports that it is installing, but when it gets to the end of the installation and moves on to the part where it reads 'configuring the printer', it gets stuck and after waiting for some time with the green progress light moving from side to side, nothing further happens.
I have downloaded and run various 'help' bits from the HP site ; HPHNDU.EXE and HPPDU.EXE and printed the test pages from them as well as printing from Word and Adobe pdf; so there is now no problem in printing.
Now, when I run the installation software again without uninstalling, depsite inputting the IP Address of the printer, I still get the error message that no printer could be found on the network?????
    What have I missed here??
    Thank you

One very important place to remove the other software is in the "server properties" in your printer folder.  You need to click on your printer icon in the printers folder> then look for "server properties" , click it> go to drivers> remove all instances of your first printer you originally uninstalled.  For some reason the drivers get hung in this and have to be removed in order for you to configure your device- Let me know of any questions

  • Lenovo Solution Centre Small Business Maintenance

The model is a 3347 (ThinkPad Twist) running Win 8 64 bit.  The version of the Small Business Solution Centre being run is 1.1.27.5565 (which by the way has not been posted in Downloads).
Four jobs are to run after hours: namely, After Hours Maintenance, Disk Defrag, Delete Cookies, and Delete Temp files.  The first is run daily and the others weekly.  The machine is supposed to wake up to run the tasks (whether powered off or sleeping).  The problem is the jobs fail to run with only a "task incomplete" notation.  There is no entry in Event Viewer to explain the failure.  I can run the tasks manually without a problem.
I also note that the first job is not listed in Task Scheduler but the other three are, under Intel.  Nonetheless all jobs fail to run as scheduled.  The machine has been plugged in at night.
My first thought was to reinstall the program but I can't find this version for download.  Suggestions?

This is going straight to downhill
I found update to Intel Management Engine for Win 8.1 here:
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?lang=eng&DownloadType=Drivers&keyword=intel+manage...
I updated it and this is what it did!!
So now I get rid of that annoying update box that thold me tu update IME but now whole Lenovo Solution for Small Business program wont work anymore

  • Solution Centre in Win 8.1 keeps runs device detection on every use

New Win 8.1 notebook. Connected the OfficeJet Pro 8500A A910g by USB. Windows detected and loaded printer driver, also loaded network driver as printer connected via wireless.  Disconnected USB cable. Downloaded and installed HP full software package. It went through device detection, wirless, could not find printer, gave it the IP address, it then found it OK. Went through all steps including opening an HP web page to sign up for something. It created desktop shortcut and enabled scan over network. Can scan from device to PC, works just fine. Next time I wanted to scan from PC, double click on desktop shortcut, UAC pops up, say OK can make changes. Goes through device detection agian. Eveything works. Closed Solution Centre. Re-opened it and same thing. Every time I want to use the Solution Centre I have go through teh detection process.  I tried running the .exe directly from Windows Explorer so there are no switches in the command line, no change. There must be a fix.

    Hi,
Please try following the steps below and let me know if that helps:
From the Control Panel go to View devices and Printers.
Right click the HP Officejet Pro 8500A and select Remove Device, next unplug the USB,
from the start menu's search bar type %temp%. open the temp folder and then open the newest installation folder which starts with 7z, then open the Utils folder.
For a 32 bit OS open the X86 folder, open the X64 folder for a 64-bit OS.. follow those steps if you aren't sure about your OS type:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03666764&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en
Run the RemovePreinstalledDrivers file and allow it to reach 100%
Go 2 folders up back to the 7z folder and locate the installation MSI file:
search for *x86.msi or *x64.msi, depanding on your OS type.
Right click the larger MSI file out of the 2 resutls, then click on Repair. if you get a prompt that it is only valid for installed software select Instal instead of repair.
Reboot your PC if prompted to do so.
Open the Officejet Pro 8500A software and follow the steps to reconfigure the device, then check for any difference.
Please let me know if that helps,
    Shlomi

Hi there StuBet, welcome to the forums
I understand Solution Center is not working for you and you cannot scan after installing the printer by disk. I would suggest trying to download and run the install from the HP website to see if that helps.

  • Additional software Solution Centre, IRIS etc

I am experiencing considerable difficulty installing any of the software suppllied with the C7280 driver.
The driver seems to install OK and works but ....
Installation runs until the the 'configuring programs' actions (last item) which goes on for a long time then fails.
I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling numerous times. I have tried uninstalling the individual software items and then running the driver installer and installing the software individually. All say installed OK but IRIS cannot be found, solution centre tells me 'device installation is not complete'.
I have run Print and Scan doctor that tells me no problem with the 'Printer' but the Scanner reports A problem was found with the device registration.
I needed to reinstall the printer etc as some how the printer was reporting it was connected and failed to print but the problem was that the printer was using a different IP address X.X.X.10 and the computer thought it was on X.X.X.7 .  This problem has been resolved.
Also when running one of the HP diagnostic programmes I was also asked to select the printer and it listed 3 Versions of the printer. I suspected that this could be the problem but I am unable the replicate this and only one printer is shown in Control Panel.
    I have a C7280 printer
    Windows 8.1 (64 bit)
    Wi-Fi connected.
Any help would be appreciated .

Hi alanw8888, having 3 versions if the printer could certainly be causing a conflict.Sounds like we need a fresh start. I suspect, removing the driver from printer server properties and doing a complete uninstall will resolve this issue. use the instructions below to perform these tasks.
    1. In the ‘Devices and Printers’ folder delete the printer < Click here for instructions.
    2. Choose ‘Print server properties’.  (Select any printer in the ‘Devices and Printers’ folder and click ‘Print Server properties’ above.)
    3. Click on the ‘Drivers’ tab at the top of ‘Print server properties’ window
    4. Choose the printer you want to uninstall and click ‘Remove’
    5. Choose 'Remove driver only"
    6. The next screen will give a warning, letting you know that deleting the driver package will remove it from the system. Click ‘Yes’ to say that you are sure you want to do this.
If you get an 'In use'  error try restarting the print spooler, then try to remove the driver from ‘Print server properties’ again. If it still won’t remove the package, restarting the computer and printer should resolve this ‘in use’ error and allow the driver to be removed.
After the driver is removed from the server properties we can proceed with uninstalling and reinstalling  the software.
Hold down the Windows Logo key (  ) on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box,  type %temp%
Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)
    Open folder Util
    Open folder CCC
If you have an HP computer run the L3uninstall.exe. If you have a non-HP computer run the L4uninstall.exe
When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
Follow these steps to reset the registry settings and options for Windows Installer.
Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open  box, type msiexec /unreg, and then click OK.
Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open  box, type msiexec /regserver, and then click OK
Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools
Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
Now we can restart the computer and Download and install the HP Photosmart Full Feature Software and Drivers
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, if you require additional assistance I will gladly help out.

  • Error Message when attempting to install Solution Centre for HP OfficeJet J5780

    Hi,
Each time I try and install the HP Solutions Centre software for my Office Jet J5780 on my laptop (Microsoft Windows Starter 7 32Bit) I am confronted with the following error message:
    "Micorsoft Visual C++ Runtime Libary
    Runtime Error!
    Program: C:\Users\.....
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusal way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information"
Any help would be much appreciated!!

    Hello Sophia10,
    Welcome to the Forums!
I noticed your post about the Runtime Error you are getting when you try to install your printer. I have a few suggestions to hopefully get it installed and working for you.
First of all, I would suggest performing a clean boot:
How to perform a clean boot in Windows
    Next, try reinstalling the printer:
HP Officejet Full Feature Software and Driver Download
If the installation still does not work, try this:
Running Microsoft's Fix it tool, which will fix corrupted registry keys, etc:
Fix problems that programs cannot be installed or uninstalled
Try to reinstall the printer again.
Please let me know how this goes! Good luck

  • Officejet 6500 e709q won't scan through Solution Centre after upgrade to Windows 10

After upgrading found that I could print but not scan with my HP Officejet 6500 Series e709q all in one, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the full download from HP and still no go. I get this message  Scan cannot be performed because another program or computer is using the networked HP imaging device. I did a search using that same message and have tried the solutions that were posted but they are not for Windows 10.  I have turned off the router, the All in one and my laptop. Is there a solution to this? Thanks

Hi , Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I understand you are not able to Scan using Solution Centre with your HP Officejet 6500. When you attempt the scan you get an 'Scan cannot be performed because another program or computer is using the networked HP imaging device' error message.  I would like you to go ahead and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor > www.hp.com/go/tools-- It was designed by HP to provide users with the troubleshooting and problem solving features needed to resolve many common problems experienced with HP print and scan products connected to Windows-based computers. What does the PSDR find, are you now able to Scan? If not, leave me with the following information: 1. How is the printer connected, USB or Wireless? 2. When you uninstalled and reinstalled did you use a CD or software download for Windows 10 software and drivers? I will watch for your reply. Thank you,

  • After fresh installation on a new machine, my licensed copy of Adobe Encore CS6 "cannot run in non-royalty serialized mode."

"The application needs to be serialized with a royalty bearing serial number."
I have done everything recommended in all of the other threads relating to this issue  -
Uninstalled the entire CS and used the Adobe cleaner tool  - to no avail.
Uninstalled just Encore and re-installed, nothing.
And multiple combinations of the above mentioned.
Really need this to work, ASAP. We've tried to contact Adobe via phone, chat, and other means. They are very to receive an audience from, it appears. Can anyone offer a different solution?
This is for a brand new edit suite that is running Windows 7 pro, 32 GB of RAM, and the [email protected] GHz.

I did not see this earlier. Forums are a bit odd today.
Do you  have a subscription (to the cloud) or is this a perpetual license? You cannot run Encore in trial mode.
Generally, with CS6 suite (or earlier?) this indicated that Premiere is not activated, or there is a problem with activation. What version are you trying to install?
Unfortunately, the link that tells you how to fix this went missing in action some time ago.

  • TS1717 I tried to open iTunes but a box pops up.  In it is written "iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing.  Please reinstall iTunes."  I have done so a number of times but nothing is working.  How can I fix this problem?

iTunes will not open because a dialog box pops up with "Itunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing.  Please reinstall iTunes.". I have done so a few times to no avail.  Any solutions for this problem?

No you will not lose your content reinstalling iTunes.
    Do this:
1: Download and run the Registry Cleaner of the free Ccleaner.
    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard
2: Next follow this Apple document to un-install iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
3: Just for good measure, run Ccleaner again
    4: Reinstall iTunes.
