HP Solution Centre Missing Win7

Hello,
I have a problem on a reinstall on my Laptop on which I have installed Win7. I have downloaded the full set of HP x64 bit drivers for my Photosmart 3310 and the printer has installed. However, Solution Centre is missing, so I am unable to scan.
Solution Cenre is not in my Programmes list, yet the HP site says it is downloaded with the driver. Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

Hi @chinarog,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that you are missing the HP Solution Center software for your HP Photosmart c3310, and that you cannot scan. I am happy to help you with this issue!
I would recommend the following solutions:
Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Clean boot the computer. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Re-install using the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.
If that doesn't work, I would also suggest visiting this guide, HP Multifunction Printers and HP Full Feature Software or HP Basic Driver solutions do not work as e....
Also, here is a How to scan guide, How to Scan: Windows 7, for alternate methods of scanning, just in case.
Hope this information is helpful, and thank you for posting!

  • HP SOLUTION CENTRE - MISSING for HP Scanjet 4890 Photo Scanner - after upgrade to Windows 7 or 8

Tearing my hair out after searching for months for solution - hope Someone Anyone can help.  I love my HP Scanjet 4890 Photo Scanner and it is still working wonderfully 90% of the time - after a number of years.
However - when I upgraded to Windows 7 and Windows 8 (on other machine) - I had to download New Drivers for it.  These did not come with the HP Solution Centre - which is where I was able to select "Transparencies or Slides".
I have Adobe Photoshop and can scan anything else - but not the Transparencies and Slides for which I bought the machine.
Is there a way of downloading the HP Solution Centre or accessing this feature?
    Happy to hear any solutions
    Thank You
    KazVee

  • On launch of HP Solution Centre:- "Program cant start because ATL90.DLL is missing..."

I would be very grateful for advice regarding the following message that I have only recently started to experience
I have had the HP All-In-One C6380 printer for a few years.
When I launch the "HP Solution Centre" and other associated software I receive the message below.
I have tried many things, too many to place in this message, to try and resolve the issue. Message is
    "Hpqdirec.exe - System Error
The program can't start because ATL90.DLL is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem"
I have tried many things, including the following:-
    - Completely uninstalled and then reinstalled the HP software several times - from supplied disk and using latest   downloaded software from the HP website
    - Several Restore points
    - Windows "Start up Repair" option
    - "Scannow"
    - Ran Virus Scanners
    - Ran the following Registry repair tools: RegZooka, RegGenie and Registry Mechanic

    Hi there,
Try downloading and running the print and scan doctor located here:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03275041&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en
It can fix a lot on its own and if not give a better idea of what is going on.
    Best of Luck!

  • HP Solution Centre reports unable to start as printer not installed; but I can print!!!

My Officejet Pro 8500 A909g suddenly stopped working. It was connected to my HP Pavillion dv9700 by wireless and has been for the last 6 months or so. My laptop is running on Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. I have made no software or hardware changes since I last used the printer; just a few hours ago.
I can now print again (having run through all the steps listed below), but can no longer use the HP Solution Centre to run any tasks as it reports that it 'cannot run because  the device installation is not complete'
In order to get back to printing, I did all the usual of shutting everything down...computer, router and printer...all to no avail.
Then I downloaded the latest printer software from the HP site (OJP8500V909_Full_14.exe) and first ran the uninstall section of that software; removing ALL of the HP software from my machine.
I used CCleaner to remove all traces including those from the registry as well.
I uninstalled and re-installed the software.... 3 times. (at least it gave me a chance to catch up on reading a good Terry Pratchett book)
Each time I varied the conditions relating to my antivirus... Kaspersky. First by leaving the AV running; then by switching off the AV and switching on the Windows firewall; and then finally by switching off both the AV and the Windows Firewall.
On each occasion, during the installation, the software 'finds' my printer on the network; reports that it is installing, but when it gets to the end of the installation and moves on to the part where it reads 'configuring the printer', it gets stuck and after waiting for some time with the green progress light moving from side to side, nothing further happens.
I have downloaded and run various 'help' bits from the HP site ; HPHNDU.EXE and HPPDU.EXE and printed the test pages from them as well as printing from Word and Adobe pdf; so there is now no problem in printing.
Now, when I run the installation software again without uninstalling, depsite inputting the IP Address of the printer, I still get the error message that no printer could be found on the network?????
    What have I missed here??
    Thank you

One very important place to remove the other software is in the "server properties" in your printer folder.  You need to click on your printer icon in the printers folder> then look for "server properties" , click it> go to drivers> remove all instances of your first printer you originally uninstalled.  For some reason the drivers get hung in this and have to be removed in order for you to configure your device- Let me know of any questions

  • Hpqdirec.exe has stopped working report: HP Solution Centre

Has any progress been made with resolving the "hpqdirec.exe has stopped working" problem?  No positive suggestions have been put forward in the past other than to try using HP Print and Scan Doctor, which I tried unscussfully prior to looking for a solution on the forum. I suspect it may be due to me having recenhtly used "Driver Booster 2.3 (Free)" to download and update a whole variety of drivers, including HP Drivers.  Since then "HP Solution Centre" just hangs until cancelled and then the "hpqdirec.exe has stopped working" advice appears.  HP Print and Scan Doctor reports no problems when the Scan option is selected and if Test Scan is then selected, one can still Scan, but it is only a once off. Any direction would be much appreciated. John

  • HP Director now Solution Centre for Windows 8?

    Hi there,
well have got the new windows 8.1 PC running and my old Officejet 6210 All in one pretty much installed itself.
It prints and it scans but am really missing the HP director  software interface that was installed with XP.
I have searched the forums and yes put in my printer model etc but just ended up installing the basic drivers again.
Gotta say the support area asked me if it helped me alot more than it actually helped me.
What I liked about the HP direcor was the ease of a preview scan, then crop then maybe lighten or darken the image then scan for final image etc.Great.
Now unless I have missed I now dontseem to have these options with the current basic driver install in Windows 8.1
I am gathering HP Director has been replaced by Solution Centre?
I have tried to find it but just get the run around in the support area.
Can I have a direct link that will start the software downloading to me please?
    Cheers,
    Shane.

    Hi,
No more Software and Drivers for around 5 years now:
       http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=2093&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=4219...
That why Windows 8.1 installed a generic printer driver which allows you to print.
    Regards.

  • Officejet 4500 after Win 7 Upgrade - No Scanner -No HP Solution Centre

    1) Upgraded from Win Vista to Win7.  HP Solution Centre didn't work.
    2) Uninstalled all HP software using Control Panel\Programs and Features.
    3) Attempted to reinstall with my disc - failed several times. Disc just spins in Drive.
4)Downloaded HP Scrubber OJ4500vG510a-f_Scrubber_13.exe. Ran it twice. No idea what happened.
5)Went online and downloaded hppiw.exe Install Utility. Turned on printer and connected with USB cable.
I have attempted this twice now. No success. After it finds my printer and I select Next, it goes and downloads the same software over and over again. Infinite loop.
    6) Restored OS.  Printer works but no scanning and HP Solution Centre results in Parsing error.
Nothing that I have tried works. Very frustrated here.

    Hi aquaboy,
I understand that after upgrading to Windows 7 you could not get the HP Solution Center to work. I will try my best to help you resolve this issue. This document for The Printer Is Not Listed in HP Solution Center After Upgrading to Windows 7 are steps for resolving this issue.
If you are still having a problem finding the download, tell me the Model Number of your printer I will send you a link for the Full Feature download.

  • Maintenance Fuction Will Not Work on HP Solution Centre

I have my HP Pavilion laptop going to my HP Photsmart B209a-m printer via my Netgear Wireless router.
I can print  scan and read the ink levels in the Solution Centr, but if I go to >Settings>Printer Toolbox<  none of the maintenance function will work,
Message box “The computer is unable to establish a two-way communications with the device”
If I go to>Devices and printers and right click>Printer preferences>Features tab< and click the box Printer Services, all the same maintenance functions will work.
So there is a way out of this.
As I seem to working on a knife edge with this software, in case I lose all of the function again, I am do not want to try anything like reloading drivers etc. unless there is a definite reason/fix why this does not work.
But would appreciate an explanation and fix, or is it just poor software? Even running the troubleshooter before, I lost the printing function and had to do a restore.

Looking at other threads, it would appear that there was software problem with Solution Centr before ver 13.
I have been on to HP support because I could not find out which ver I have, they tell me I have ver 14 but were not clear how I could check this myself.
If this is the case there must still be a  bug in the sofware preventing my Toolbox from working.

  • Not able to use HP Solution Centre after installing on Windows 7

    Widows 7 Office Jet 6500 N
I have reinstalled drivers on 6 occasions, each time a diffenetnt problem. I now have it installed to work on a network and all seems OK except  I have no Solution Centre only HP Document Manager.  It asks me to complete the installation by connecting a USB cable. When I do that it gives me full HP Solution Centre but messes up my printers, insatlling Copy1 and I find I cannot print again. (I have also installed on a XP computer on the same network without any problems, all works properly with Solutions Centte etc)
Any ideas if I can have the HP Solution Centre as well please
    Thanks  Robert

    Hi
    Thank you for your reply.
I am not sure that it actually answers me problem.
I now have the printer and Windows 7 computer set up and working.  The only way I can work the printer for scanning etc is thorugh an icon called HP Document Manager which whilst fine it does not have the refinements that I have ben used to when using the icon HP Solution Centre in the past.  This allosw easier usaeage of scannong etc, ink levels, settings and so on. It is this that I would like to reinstate.
I am not using a Wireless Network rather a Wired Network
    Thanks
    Robert

  • Solution centre not working for windows 7 and wireless all in one, altho can print ok

I have installed an officejet 6500 wireless all in one on my HP Elitebook running Windows 7 64 bit.
Although the printer installed - albeit with an error for Microsoft.net4 that was resolved after a re reboot - HP Solution Centre v14 wont start. Indicated device installation wasnt complete, plugged in USB and tried to uninstall/re-install all same thing.
Ran Network, scan and print utilities and have MacAfee and firewalls all dis-abled during install. After the error pop up it just closes.
The printer works fine and I can scan through the webscan option but what's happened to solution centre?

    Great information.

Hi there StuBet, welcome to the forums
I understand Solution Center is not working for you and you cannot scan after installing the printer by disk. I would suggest trying to download and run the install from the HP website to see if that helps.

How do i install the Solution Centre?

    OK.
    Thanks.
Install the full feature software driver package that is available at the printer's web support driver & software download section. This will also be based on the operating system you are using the printer with. Some operating systems may not be supported. The basic driver does not contain the HP Solution Center.
I would have been able to provide a link to the section but you did not completely identify your printer. Post the product name or product number in a post in your thread.

  • Solution Centre in Win 8.1 keeps runs device detection on every use

New Win 8.1 notebook. Connected the OfficeJet Pro 8500A A910g by USB. Windows detected and loaded printer driver, also loaded network driver as printer connected via wireless.  Disconnected USB cable. Downloaded and installed HP full software package. It went through device detection, wirless, could not find printer, gave it the IP address, it then found it OK. Went through all steps including opening an HP web page to sign up for something. It created desktop shortcut and enabled scan over network. Can scan from device to PC, works just fine. Next time I wanted to scan from PC, double click on desktop shortcut, UAC pops up, say OK can make changes. Goes through device detection agian. Eveything works. Closed Solution Centre. Re-opened it and same thing. Every time I want to use the Solution Centre I have go through teh detection process.  I tried running the .exe directly from Windows Explorer so there are no switches in the command line, no change. There must be a fix.

    Hi,
Please try following the steps below and let me know if that helps:
From the Control Panel go to View devices and Printers.
Right click the HP Officejet Pro 8500A and select Remove Device, next unplug the USB,
from the start menu's search bar type %temp%. open the temp folder and then open the newest installation folder which starts with 7z, then open the Utils folder.
For a 32 bit OS open the X86 folder, open the X64 folder for a 64-bit OS.. follow those steps if you aren't sure about your OS type:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03666764&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en
Run the RemovePreinstalledDrivers file and allow it to reach 100%
Go 2 folders up back to the 7z folder and locate the installation MSI file:
search for *x86.msi or *x64.msi, depanding on your OS type.
Right click the larger MSI file out of the 2 resutls, then click on Repair. if you get a prompt that it is only valid for installed software select Instal instead of repair.
Reboot your PC if prompted to do so.
Open the Officejet Pro 8500A software and follow the steps to reconfigure the device, then check for any difference.
Please let me know if that helps,
