Hi Ryan,
It seems not a hyper-v issue .
Maybe you need to keep the storage up-to-date.
Also please refer to following link:

The effective way is to contact HP for further assistance .

  • HP Proliant 0 Storage Works Disk Array Mounting help

I am a Solaris newbie so please bear with me while i try to explain the problem.
I have just installed Solaris 10 (x86) on a HP Proliant DL380 G4, this involved applying the friver updates for the RAID controller to allow the Solaris install to work.
The machine has two raid controllers the onboard 6i controller and the additional 6400 controller we've added (it's a PCI SCSI controller) to hook up the Storage Works (used to be called Smart Array with Compaq).
Now, i can only see my disks in the server itself and need to know how to mount or add or configure the disks in the storage array. I think i have the driver installed for the 6400 raid controller but the next step i am not sure of.
Is anyone able to offer a suggestion ?
Having a HP server with a Storage Works device and a numebr of additional discs should fairly common but Google hasn't turned up anything useful.

Further information (may or may not be useful).
In the Server BIOS i have the following information for the disk array controller:
    Logical Drive #1 RAID 5 1955.8GB
    Direct Attached Storage
Controller HP Smart Array 6400, Slot 3
The individual disks are (i have 8 in total):
    SCSI Port 1, ID 0
    SCSI Port 1, ID 1
    SCSI Port 1, ID 2
    SCSI Port 1, ID 3
    SCSI Port 1, ID 4
    SCSI Port 1, ID 5
    SCSI Port 1, ID 8
    SCSI Port 2, ID 0
I don't know what happened to SCSI Port 1 ID 6 and 7.
In /dev/dsk/ i have quite a few disks listed but htey don't seem to map onto the 8 disks, or the one disk logical disk i was expecting solaris to see.
I thought my disk would be something like
c1t0d0 - is the disk which Solaris install found (i think)
    c2t0d0 - this is a symbolis link to devices/pci@0,0/pci8086,3599@6/pci8086,329@0/pci1014,la7@2/pciell,409c@4/sd0@0:wd
Is this my second disk ??

  • How does iCloud Photo Library and Optimize iPhone Storage Work?

Even Apple Phone support can't answer these questions:
How does iCloud Photo Library (Beta) from yesterday's 8.1 update with Optimize iPhone Storage turned on work? (I'm on an iPhone 6)
It only stores your iPhone/iPad versions on your device, which is amazing. Why would you need anything else? It freed up around 8-10GB of space on my device which is amazing. But how does it work when you use it?
When you email it seems to ask you, when sending what size you want to send like it's always done. It gives you the original 2.4MB version. This works like I'd imagine and when I received the test email the photo was correct. In this case I assume it hits iCloud and sends it from there, not your actual device. (Like it doesn't re-download it to email it). Correct?
When posting to Facebook, does it do this same thing? Or is this something Facebook has to build into their iOS app in an update? Or does it just work? Correct?
When posting to Instagram, does it grab the right version. Obviously the phone optimized version should be fine, but when viewing on a Desktop version of Instagram at instagram.com, will it show the right version?
Sometimes I backup photos using Image Capture on the Mac. If I did that right now, would it only grab the iPhone versions? Obviously I can just test it but it'd be amazing if someone who knows these things could explain all of these use cases.
Do you need to be on
In closing it's more of how does this work? Does it work? Why wouldn't you want to use this feature if it saved space and made more sense? I guess I just would love some real clarity since not even the blogs are explaining how it works in every application.
In closing part 2. It does seem to work really well, it's just those fringe cases. I just viewed all my photos on https://beta.icloud.com/#photos and they're all there, easy download of the high res, delete, it deletes from my camera roll on my phone, it's amazing, it works, it's magic. Just tell me what issues there are with storing only low res iPhone on my device and if there are none, game on!
    Thanks!

And of those 4.3GB of backup, my Photo Library is 1.4GB.
So my question is, how do I prevent my Photo Library from being backed up to the cloud, since I already have a backup of it everytime I connect to iPhoto and it copies all those photos to my mac?
I don't know, sorry. It's supposed to work alongside Photos & iCloud, so that photos are stored only once. When it doesn't work you have a couple of options as I see it –
Delete the old backups on iCloud to hopefully start over (I don't like deleting the only backup of anything).
Forget about iCloud backups & use iTunes to backup instead, it might not be suitable if you have no computer etc.
    Buy more storage for iCloud.
I don't use iCloud backup, it bemuses me with issues like this, there is no easy way to resolve when it fails.
And one more question while we are at it...can I erase iphoto from my computer now that I have the new Photos app?
That is up to you. If you are happy you do not need it & have a backup of it go ahead & remove it. You can re-download it from the app store if it is already in your Mac App store account.

  • Linked clones , sysprep sql server , how does storage works

    Hi,
I have created a sysprep install of SQL Server 2008 R2 . deployed linked clones from this templates.
    Everything works fine !!!
I just want to know how the installatioon takes place. will the linked clones share the binaries and files from parent ?
will there be any performance degration in future ?
or all the SQL Server program files and installation files actually gets copied over ?
    What exactly happens ...
    Thanks

The deployed linked clones of your SQL template contain only the difference in data between themselves and the original template.  Therefore when they are 1st deployed there is very little data attributable to them.  Once you've powered them on, and loaded some data in, the linked-clone's virtual disk files will contain, the difference between themselves and the base template, and will grow in size as they're used and data changes.
So (overly simplifying things) the OS and SQL application will reside in the VM template, and the SQL data imported after clone/deployment will reside in the linked clone.  If you update the OS or SQL install (or make any otehr changes that will affect data stored on the VM's disks), these changes will occur in the linked-clone, but will still be dependant on the original template.
So far as performance is concerned, there can be some performance drop when using linked clones as opposed to full fat VM's, in a similar fashion to normal VM's with snapshots.  Normally it isn't a problem, even if you have a chain of linked clones of linked clones, but it can be.  All depends on how much you need to push your SQL servers, and how much grunt is available from your ESX's and the storage that your VM's are running from.

  • Using MacMini for Time Machine Storage & Work?

I have recently got my brand new Macbook Pro and absolutely love it!
It replaces my Mac Mini PowerPC G4, which has a hard drive of about 70g.
It also has all my work on.
Basically can i use the MacMini for time machine, over an ethernet network, as shared my pro sees the mini when they are both connected to ethernet.
Is this connection ok for Time Machine?
Also would it be worth just leaving all my work on the mini and opening it on my pro through the shared network also?
Work such as using Photoshop and Dreamweaver or would this be hindering the power of the Pro and i might as well copy my work to the Pro and not work over the shared network?
    Or no difference?
    Thanks for any input

If you install Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) on the Mac mini you can use it as a Networked Time Machine backup device.
NOTE: Leopard running on the Mac mini is a requirement.
I have a Mac mini attached to my WiFi network. I use it as my Time Machine network backup device for my MacBook, and my Wife's MacBook Pro. I've added 3TB of external storage (Drobo).
The only problems I've had a closing the lid on my MacBook while a back was in progress. So I'm very careful about making sure Time Machine is not running and that the Mac mini shared volume is not mounted when I put my MacBook to sleep.
    Setup:
Install Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) on Mac mini
Enable file sharing on the Mac mini
Mount the Mac mini's shared volume on your MacBook Pro
Configure your MacBook Pro's Time Machine to use the just mounted shared volume.
Once configured, when Time Machine runs it will automatically mount the Mac mini's shared volume, create a sparsebundle disk image (at config time), and perform Time Machine backups to the sparsebundle.
The Time Machine applications (viewing/restoring backups) will also automatically mount the Mac mini shared volume.
NOTE: I am a bit paranoid about backups, so Time Machine is NOT my only backup. I also use SuperDuper! to backup my MacBook each work day onto my PowerMac G5 at work. That way I also have off-site backup.

  • How does cloud storage work with my iTouch?

Lately, I've been receiving a message stating that i need to go to Settings for my storage because I am basically running out of space on my iTouch... I have the cloud and it says I have 5.0 GB Total Storage and 4.0 Available Storage... So, How Am I Low On Storage???

    Hello Luupymichelle,
Glad to see you on-board. Well surprisingly I had a similar issue with my iPhone 4G and then I just reboot my device and things get back to normal then. Try this, if it works for you. Elsewhere, try what AnaMusic has recommended. Just got a statement from the source link shared above: You can manage your iCloud storage space (for example, delete old email messages) from any device.
But i think your case is something different. It is actually showing 4.0 available, right? Try the magic of rebooting your device, it it works then cheers and if not then look around for some other options. By the way, which OS is yours?
    Thanks,
    Sab

  • TO Split for open storage works?

I'm using weight and volume for TO split and it works fine, except for open storage where it seems to ignore the limits.
Is there any exception that says TO split doesn't work in open storage?
    Thank you

    Hi
As suggested by Mihailo there is no separate code written for Open strategy. You can take the help of development team to get more idea, Find below the perform (solldaten_position_ermitteln) detail where system read the detail where system read the split related data and pass further for execution

  • Will EMC storage work fine now that OSx Lion supports ALUA?

We are on the verge of purchasing a whole new Xsan and EMC storage is under consideration. Does anyone have any experience with EMC and XSAN?
With Apple supporting ALUA multipathing using EMC seems possible.
Here is a quote from the Xsan 2.3 manual: "Use only Apple-qualified RAID systems or ALUA-compliant RAID systems for storage devices."

I have a similar problem, except I can't edit contacts or appointments on any of my three OSX devices, but I can edit them on my iOS7 devices.
Of course, now I'm on Mavericks and have all of the latest updates.

  • How the data storage works?

i'm looking for new ideas about how to save an stl has map into the disk..

You could use a Berkeley DB database to store the data from an STL hash_map.
Berkeley DB btree and hash databases store key/data pairs. These can contain variable length key and/or data items.
It should be fairly straight forward to iterate through a hash_map and store each item in a database.
The best places to start learning how to use Berkeley DB are the Getting Started Guide:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/gsg/CXX/index.html
Or the examples distributed with the source code.
Please let us know if you have more specific questions.

  • Ipod shuffle does not work on USB 2.0 but works on USB 1.1

The ipod shuffle works fine but slow on the USB 1.1 port but is recognized as a corrupt Ipod (by the itunes 7.1.1.5) when I use the USB 2.0
The ipod was first used by the the USB1.1 port because the machine did not have a 2.0 port. I installed a USB 2.0 card and my other USB mass storage works fine on the 2.0 but not the ipod. I have tried to reset the software but the ipod don't respond on the 2.0 ports. I have reset on the 1.1 port with no problems. I have windows XP pro SR2. Do I need to uninstall the itunes and reinstall.
I don't understabd why even when recognised by the usb1.1 ports why can't I access the ipod through windows explorer like any other usb storage device, it would save the hazzle with the itunes software (click and drag in widows explorer works fine on other usb devices).

    Hi raymarcus,
Have you tried reinstalling your USB drivers? See this for instructions:
iPod is not recognized properly by computer when USB drivers are not installed properly or are out of date
Also, are you on a laptop? If so, then make sure that your computer is not set to conserve power by automatically turning off the power to its USB ports. See this for details:

  • Lenovo U510 Intel Rapid Storage Installation

I got my new U510 and wanted a clean installation of Windows 8. So (as I am a Studen and can order it for free) i bought a Windows 8 Licence and reinstalled Windows 8. At first i thought it would be the best to use the SSD as System Partition but i noticed that 24GB are just to small.
So I Installed Windows 8 on a 100GB Partition on the 500GB HDD.
Then I installed Intel Rapid Storage from here: http://support.lenovo.com/de_DE/downloads/detail.page?&DocID=DS032591
After the installation and configuration (use all of the 22GB SSD for Rapid Storage) I rebootet but Windows doesnt want to start. It just shows a low line like this " _ ". No "missing MBR" or something.
The Windows repair features do not work and say the Windows partition ist "locked".
Can anybody help me? I dont want to have an SSD and not be able to use ist.

Looks like the LUN is not configured correctly on the storage array. The kernel can't take the LUN online.
I have seen this on various boxes, most of the time it was either that the LUN wasn't set online on the SAN box or there is a SCSI reservation on the LUN.
Can you access the LUN from another host?

  • E3000, USB NAS storage - disk disappears when unit sleeps the drive

Working to get network attached storage working on my new E3000.  Have Western Digital My Book drive and the unit has a feature where the disk goes into a sleep mode when not used.
Appears that when the disk does this when attached to the E3000, the router thinks the disk is gone. Trying to connect to the drive from the network does not seem to wake up the storage.
Like to be able to save power and wear by not spinning the disk all the time....
    Firmware 1.0.03
    Any suggestions?

the issue is the drive is going to sleep and the router can not detect it to wake it up. western digital has stated (based from others who have contacted WD support) the drive is not compatible with NAS'ed routers.
i dont know about WD but seagate has software in the drive to disable the sleep state..
and you would rather have the drive SPINNING rather than sleeping/spinning/sleeping as this causes MORE WEAR vs. having it spin constant.
i have a couple buffalo drives 500gb, and had one on an e2 and e3 and now an e42(which ive now added a 2TB seagate go flex drive--no issues btw...) and never had them spin down and give the error.
so perhaps since you can not disable the sleep mode on the WD, and that WD itself has stated thru internet users/google searchers, that this drive is not a good fit.. perhaps you should replace the drive.

  • Loading music via USB mass storage (from other os ...

Does the N* phones support just copying the music files via the USB masstorage device or do you have to use the software?

Copying via usb-storage works fine. I'm a happy Slackware Linux user so no problems there. You just have to remember to go into the music player and do "Options" > "Refresh".
A wireless alternative is to set up an FTP server on your machine and to access data using the phone as an FTP client. I use "SIC! FTP" for that.
