HP Support Assistance have stopped working/desktop. and have not worked in weeks

This computer have many problems, HP Support Assistance have stopped working, and Hp Quick Start have also stopped working-every time the support assistande update programs it stop working-and no matter what I do for quick start it never works. I have refreshed the computer many times only to loose my progrems and they are
hard to get back- and when I recard them on a dvd they looks unreadable and will not download on the computer my computer is

Microsoft said I could download windows 8.1 free but when I did they put the price up to 119 dollards what is it-

Try resseting the network settings in settings>general then go to reset a the bottom.
Then reset NETWORK settings.

What to do about Finder options for "all desktops" and "none" not working

I have seen only one thread dealing with an issue similar, not identical, to mine. Hope I'm not missing something obvious.
I have experiment with the finder showing after upgrading to Lion. I have consistently found that the show options of "all desktops" and in "none" needs to be altered after I re-boot. If I have it as 'all desktops' it doesn't show unless I change it to "none." If I have it set to "none" then I have to change it to "all desktops" or "this desktop" after re-booting.
I even tried to reduce the number of desktops. That didn't work.
I tried deleting my finder preferences file and that hasn't worked.
Is this a bug or do I need to do some other process?

Solved through applecare; had me delete all of my preferences and start over (with saving things like mail, dock settings). Has worked fine for weeks.

Some Audio files have stopped producing sound - audio files not working

I recently noticed on a number of my projects that a few audio tracks have stopped playing back. This is very frustrating as I don't think I have done anything to change them.
For instance, the snare drum audio track that I have doesn't play anymore. The track is not greyed out, and it worked before, and I see the waveform when I zoom in. The file is still in my audio bin and if I play from there, I can hear it. I don't have the track muted, or the fader down, and it's output is set to my MOTU Output just like the rest of the tracks that do work.
I also have another project with various sound FX placed and timed just right, and a few tracks have done the same problem. I don't want to have to re-align them all again.
Please help!

Do you have two regions of audio assigned to the same audio track?. Create a 2nd audio track directly below the questionable one on the arrange page. Slide the silent audio object down to the next track. Does it play then?
Is the audio track going to the proper outputs? If you are using a multi channel interface box like Motu 828, they could be assigned to the wrong output.
Can you create more audio tracks, and drag them out of the audio bin? do they work now.. Two years back, I was having that problem, don't remember how it got rectified other than creating new audio tracks and sliding the audio onto them.

Does it still work in iPod docks or other adapters where it plugs into the bottom? That is what happened to mine and there was nothing they could do to fix it. I had a friend who said that he found a kit online to do it yourself, but that's risky. If it's still under warrenty, just take it in to an apple store and they should replace it. I was given the option to trade mine in for a brand new identical one for half price because I was past warrenty. They no longer made the 80g that I had anymore, so I ended up getting a 120g for the same price. I was prettty happy.

Two finger zoom in and out does not work most of the time. The two finger tap does work. Why does the two finger zoom not work. Checked settings and it is on.

It only works in some Apple applications. For example, it works in Safari but not Firefox.

Missing desktop, and finder not working

My Macboook pro has gone haywire. There is nothing on my desktop, not even a menu bar, just the dock. With that I can open the few items that are listed. I can't open the trash. When I open an application the menu bar appears with only that item no clock or anyhting else that should be there. I can't shut down the computer from the blue apple. The only way I can see the hard drive is to open the mail and add an attachment, then it allows me to look, and add the attachment.
I added a new user, and tat works fine, but I don't how to get to my user account from there.
I am totally lost at this point. I have looked thru the topics, and seen many similar problems, but they were all able to actually do things with tere computers.

Sharing Itunes library between windows desktop and macbook not working

Hi, I just bought my laptop today. I've had it about 3 hours. I have 2147 songs on my windows itunes library, and i would love to be able to put them on the laptop too. Now, both of my computers are on the local area connection, but for some reason when i go to network places on my desktop the laptop doesnt show up. When i go to iTunes on my laptop and click import, i find my server, i find my computer, and then it asks me for a domain name, a username, and a password. I've tried multiple combinations, i'm not sure which username/pw combo its looking for but no matter what I do i get no error messages telling me i'm wrong, but absolutely nothing happens. Please help.

This is a compleentary advice: MAKE SURE THAT WINDOWS AND MAC HAVE THE SAME GROUP NAME!
In mac go to the preferences and activate Windows Sharing from the network.
Then go with the finder to applications utility and Directory Access. SMB is the protocol that OS X uses to exchange with Windows. Go into its proprieties and choose the same name you have given to your windows group (USUALLY "WORKGROUP" but it may differ)
To change the name in windows Xp is even easier. right click the m computer and choose properties and then the "Name" tag - change the group - You'll need to restart.
Almost forgot: you have to share the Music Folder on XP to have it show up from the mac. Right click it and choose Properties - Share tab - Activate network sharing
And remember, it is easier with a USB drive

Seems that when i sign into http://xfinitytv.comcast.net/ to watch online content, this is the message i receive: "Hmmm, we're having trouble finding that page.It's probably because the page has moved or is no longer available. If you typed in the address, you may want to double-check your spelling. If you think you've found a broken link, please let us know.Go to the XFINITY TV homepage." I only watch via online due to being out of the country for a month. Please advise!

The link you supplied worked for me, so I'm going to guess that since you said you are out of the country, that might be the issue. Sometimes content is only allowed to be streamed within the borders from where it was produced. The error message you are receiving might not be very helpful, but I think you are getting it because you are out of the country.
