hp support solutions framework + How do I uninstall? It will not uninstall

Hi lbjr, and welcome to the HP Forums!    I see that you are having a problem uninstalling the HP Support Solutions Framework. I will try my best to help you resolve this issue. To better guide you, could you please tell me the model number of your computer and the operating system that is running on it. Here are some guides for How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number? and Which Windows operating system am I running?. I want you to be aware of what the HP Software Framework provides. It is a common set of software interfaces that centralize and simplify access to hardware, BIOS, and HP specific drivers that work with the Microsoft Windows Operating Systems. (Notes from Should I Remove It?) You should be able to uninstall HP Software Framework from your computer by using the Add/Remove Program feature in the Window's Control Panel. On the Start menu (for Windows 8, right-click the screen's bottom-left corner), click Control Panel, and then, under Programs, do one of the following: Windows Vista/7/8: Click Uninstall a Program. Windows XP: Click Add or Remove Programs. When you find the program HP Software Framework, click it, and then do one of the following:  Windows Vista/7/8: Click Uninstall.  Windows XP: Click the Remove or Change/Remove tab (to the right of the program).Follow the prompts. A progress bar shows you how long it will take to remove HP Software Framework.I hope this helps, please let me know how it goes. Thank you and have a great day!

Sorry, but I'm confused. I have the HP Support Asst, use it regularly, and it works fine. My problem is with the HP Support Solutions Framework. Will down loading Suppoft Asst again resolve that issue?

  • How do I uninstall safari 7

Fidelity told me to upgrade browser. I installed safari 7 only to find out my macbook pro doesn't support it. How do I uninstall?

If  you need to use Safari 7, then you need to upgrade the version of OS X you are using. I believe you need Mountain Lion or later. Since Mountain Lion and Mavericks are no longer provided by Apple, you would need to upgrade to Yosemite.
    Upgrading to Yosemite
You can upgrade to Yosemite from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Yosemite can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
    Upgrading to Yosemite
To upgrade to Yosemite you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Yosemite from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Yosemite is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
        OS X Mavericks/Yosemite - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Yosemite
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.

  • How do I uninstall the last itunes update on my new mac?

Ever since I downloaded the update for itunes it will not let me sync any music onto my classic ipod at all. Stupidly I restored it to maybe sync it and now i just have no music, how do i uninstall this update to have the itunes before on my new mac?

Below are instructions but I don't know if they are the solution to your problem.
    =Downgrading from iTunes 11 to iTunes 10.7=
Try activating the sidebar, menu bar, and status bar and see if this is close enough to the previous version to make you content.  It is easier than downgrading and eventually you will be forced to run a newer iTunes unless you have an endless supply of the model computer you currently own.
You may be able to go back with Time Machine but this may involve restoring other items too (https://discussions.apple.com/message/20441404).  Alternatively:
Back up your computer first, in case the unexpected happens.
Here's a step-by-step method and you may find it easier to follow than alternative methods I have posted below.
    Downgrade iTunes 11 to iTunes 10.7 - http://www.emacconsulting.com/apple/itunes/downgrade-itunes-11-to-itunes-10-7/
If the above does not work, or you want to do it without Pacifist, or you want to know what is actually going on when downgrading, or you encounter error messages, here's more details:
    Quit iTunes.
Get iTunes 10.7 from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1576 or the direct download link at:  http://appldnld.apple.com/iTunes10/041-7195.20120912.d3uzQ/iTunes10.7.dmg
Do a few preparatory steps by making sure all iTunes components are not running and cleaning old files.   See https://discussions.apple.com/message/20475394.  Do steps 3 and 4.  Steps 6-8 may be also useful but I don't know if they are essential.  Some of the other steps are not necessary, duplicate steps listed later in my post or are perhaps even unhelpful in the process.
Replace the iTunes 11 application with iTunes 10.7.  Simply dragging the application to the trash may not work. Lion (OSX 10.7) and newer systems have iTunes integrated into the operating system and deleting is a bit more involved.  Two ways to do this are:
    1.  (Easier) Use the shareware Pacifist utility (http://www.charlessoft.com/) to install iTunes 10.7 including all associated system files. Details at http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=16400819&postcount=6
    2. (More work) Check this reference on how to delete the iTunes application itself:
Delete iTunes in Mac OS X 10.7 Lion - http://osxdaily.com/2011/09/13/delete-itunes-in-mac-os-x-10-7-lion/
After deleting the application there may be other files that need downgrading too. See the note about error -42408 at the end of this post. You may want to tuck these away somewhere safe until you have completed the installation of iTunes 10.7.  I have not tested this but ideally if newer versions are not found then the installer will put in the old versions. This may include these files in /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ which apparently get updated by iTunes 11:
    AirTrafficHost.framework
    CoreFP.framework
    DeviceLink.framework
    iTunesAccess.framework
    MobileDevice.framework
After doing one of the two procedures above you will have to rescue the most recent old iTunes library from your iTunes > Previous Libraries folder. Rename it "iTunes Library.itl"  and replace the existing one in the iTunes folder. A newer version of iTunes irreversibly updates your library file so you have to replace it with the old one or you will get an error message. Note, this will revert your library to the version at the time of the upgrade and you will have to update any changes made since.  See:

Alternatively, check https://discussions.apple.com/message/20441424 which requires you have a Time Machine backup (though possibly if you remove the newer version of these files old ones may be installed with the iTunes 10.7 installer - untested).  A  variant of this is at: https://discussions.apple.com/message/20448184

  • How Can I Uninstall Thinkvantage Password Manager?

How can I uninstall or disable this without compromising my fingerprint reader?
Failing that, how can I remove an application so Password Manager no longer tries to "help" me with its password?

I've just upgraded to Windows 7, and I've yet to activate the Client Security software, so I can't be specific on what may have changed from Vista.
In the Vista version of Password Manager, I recall there was an "Options" or "preferences" item in the menu bar of the program. Within the options then displayed, it was possible to switch off the manager's recognition of Windows programs' password entry, or for internet browsers' password entry, and maybe one or two other classes of programs. So in your case, switching off recognition of all Windows programs might do it.
Oh, one more thing: I'm pretty sure both Password Manager and the Fingerprint Manager are dependant on the Client Security Solution (CSS) software package installation, since the latter contains the bits and pieces of the framework that connects them all together with the "Trusted Platform Module"  (TPM), the hardware encryption device that's soldered onto the main board of the notebook, as well as the biometric hardware.
Since the CSS has these dependencies (while using the TPM drivers provided in Windows), it's really an all-or-nothing proposition: either you use it, or you switch entirely to another security suite solution vendor such as UPEK, who will use their own security framework, password manager, and fingerprint software.
Windows 7 is significantly more flexible than Vista here: for instance the UPEK security suite uses the "Windows 7 Biometric Device Framework", meaning that any hardware device with drivers for that framework will work "out of the box" with the UPEK security suite, while Vista still depends on manufacturer's device driver kits--e.g. with Vista, the UPEK suite will only support UPEK fingerprint hardware, not the Authentec devices installed on some Thinkpads.

  • How do I uninstall mackeeper from my macbook pro?

How do i uninstall mackeeper from my Macbook Pro?

You may have installed a variant of the "VSearch" ad-injection malware. Follow Apple Support's instructions to remove it.
If you have trouble following those instructions, see below.
Malware is always changing to get around the defenses against it. This procedure works as of now, as far as I know. It may not work in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for a more recent discussion, or start a new one.
The VSearch malware tries to hide itself by varying the names of the files it installs. To remove it, you must first identify the naming pattern.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C:
    /Library/LaunchDaemons
    In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
A folder named "LaunchDaemons" may open. Look inside it for two files with names of the form
              com.something.daemon.plist
    and
               com.something.helper.plist
Here something is a variable string of characters, which can be different in each case. So far it has always been a string of letters without punctuation, such as "cloud," "dot," "highway," "submarine," or "trusteddownloads." Sometimes it's a meaningless string such as "e8dec5ae7fc75c28" rather than a word. Sometimes the string is "apple," and then you must be especially careful not to delete the wrong files, because many built-in OS X files have similar names.
If you find these files, leave the LaunchDaemons folder open, and open the following folder in the same way:
    /Library/LaunchAgents
In this folder, there may be a file named
              com.something.agent.plist
where the string something is the same as before.
If you feel confident that you've identified the above files, back up all data, then drag just those three files—nothing else—to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Close the Finder windows and restart the computer.
Don't delete the "LaunchAgents" or "LaunchDaemons" folder or anything else inside either one.
The malware is now permanently inactivated, as long as you never reinstall it. You can stop here if you like, or you can remove two remaining components for the sake of completeness.
    Open this folder:
    /Library/Application Support
If it has a subfolder named just
               something
where something is the same string you saw before, drag that subfolder to the Trash and close the window.
Don't delete the "Application Support" folder or anything else inside it.
    Finally, in this folder:
    /System/Library/Frameworks
there may an item named exactly
                v.framework
It's actually a folder, though it has a different icon than usual. This item always has the above name; it doesn't vary. Drag it to the Trash and close the window.
Don't delete the "Frameworks" folder or anything else inside it.
If you didn't find the files or you're not sure about the identification, post what you found.
If in doubt, or if you have no backups, change nothing at all.
The trouble may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
This trojan is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Then, still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
    or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
    if it's not already checked.

  • How do I uninstall quicktime so it stops reverting to an older version?

How do I uninstall quicktime so it stops reverting to an older version despite having chosen to download 7.5.5?
I seem to be in a vortex!!

What exactly is happening?  I'm not understanding  your description of the problem but going purely on your mentioning Quicktime and seeing you are running Leopard I suspect you re-installed your operating system and the answer is:
    QuickTime 7.5.5 for Leopard - http://support.apple.com/kb/DL27
    QuickTime 7.7 for Leopard - http://support.apple.com/kb/dl761
= New version of Quicktime installed but application reports it needs to have that version installed =
Open Application > Utilities > System Profiler and check the Quicktime version in Frameworks vs. the version in Applications.  One person had re-installed their operating system.  It had kept the newer Player application but had reverted to an earlier version of the underlying support framework files which many applications utilize.  Re-installing Quicktime 7.7 took care of the problem.  Do this manually, not with Software Update.

  • How do i uninstall norton anti virus?

How do i uninstall norton antivirus

    Hello Pete,
I also need to uninstall Norton. This statement is on the Norton support link that you provided above with a red alert symbol: "RemoveSymantecMacFiles removes all the folders created by Norton installers and any files within those folders. You shall lose all files that reside in those folders, including any you have created."  https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/kb20080427024142EN_En dUserProfile_en_us
Would you clarify what type of files that might be?
In my great ignorance, I installed Norton a couple of years ago and ran occasional whole system scans; Norton Firewall and Phishing Protection were also enabled. Could some of my personal files have ended up in a Norton folder? (I did not have the Norton Identity Safe program or Norton Zone....not even sure what the Zone is).  I don't really want to search for and open Norton folders to check on files in case that would cause more problems. I went to the Norton Support site and Norton Forum, and didn't see an answer to my question. I didn't want to register for their forum unless absolutely necessary, but I am willing to do whatever research is needed. I did find this link from another Apple Support Community discussion but it doesn't say what type of personal files could be lost: http://www.macworld.com/article/1150466/uninstall_norton.html
A related question: At this time, I only have TM backup. It was when I was was learning how to create a bootable clone with CCC that I learned that I shouldn't have installed Norton. (I'm "behind the times" and trying to catch up.) Should I totally uninstall Norton AV before downloading and running Carbon Copy Cloner?  Or since I have now "disabled" Norton's activity, is it ok to download and run CCC and then deal with the Norton. I read in another post that this Norton uninstall is not "trivial":
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/19283561#19283561
Thank you so very much for any insight you can provide!

  • I downloaded the latest update of Itunes, and now I have no music.  NONE.  how do I uninstall this mess and go back to what I had, without having to  put it all back in manually.  I am really hating ITUNES right now.

What happened to my music when I downloaded the latest version of Itunes?  I had quite a few songs there and now NOTHING. I want to uninstall this version and go back to the older one.  how do I do this without wiping out whatever else is left on there?  I am already ticked off that I will have to put all my music back an there manually    ( I don't want all my music collection on Itunes.  I am really hating Itunes right now.  So what can I do?

    Hi,
[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/xmarks-sync/?src=search Xmarks] is a bookmarks/history/tabs backup/sync utility. It is not a feature of Firefox. It is an extension which had to be manually added or perhaps could have come with another extension.
If you have registered with the service you have to enter the username and password to log in to the service. Otherwise try pressing the '''Esc''' key on the keyboard and after Firefox opens, go to '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Add-ons''', click Extensions on the left and look for Xmarks and '''Disable''' to disable it or '''Remove''' to uninstall it. If that doesn't work, start Firefox in [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe%20Mode Safe Mode.] In the first screen choose '''Disable all add-ons''' and '''Make Changes and Restart''' and repeat the above procedure, but this time, re-enable all the needed extensions except Xmarks. You may also have to re-enable the plugins after clicking '''Plugins''' on the left).
