HP TM2 Touchscreen Tablet Pc will no longer turn on

So, my TM2 just suddenly tuned off on me.
Now, only type of repsonse I get is when i plug in the charger. I get an orange light which should signify the battery charging?
When i try to flip the power switch to 'ON' the orange light turns off and there's no other response.
Ive tried removing the battery for a while and reseating to no avail. Also, no response when trying to switch on with direct power.
Dead motherboard or CPU? Or could it be a bad power supply???
Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.
Oh, and my warranty is no longer valid ;(

Try a hard reset:
Remove the battery and unplug the DC power adapter.
press and hold the power button for more than fifteen seconds.
plug in the DC power adapter (leave the battery out for now)
press the power button

Did you try to charge it using the adapter or your computer?
If you can, let it charge for about 15min, then connect in recovery mode, described in this article:

  • My iPod will no longer turn on after I fully charged it. HELP!

I knew I should have never trusted Apple with personal files. I put all of my pictures from my digital camera (1,800 of them) on the ipod for "safe" keeping. Now my ipod will no longer turn on. I fully charged the ipod until the "charged" icon appeared. Then I disconnected it. A couple hours later I tried to turn it on and it no longer turns on. I've had this iPod for about 6 months and I'm pretty sure it's not a dead battery. It's been very good with me. The hold switch is NOT activated. I went through all of the common sense troubleshooting steps. I tried to reset the ipod. I tried recharging it on AC power. I tried reconnecting it via USB on computer. I tried the updater, which doesn't work b/c ipod won't turn on. I've also tried hitting it...jk. I also have 10,330 songs on here. This is my life on my ipod. I can't afford to lose this info. 60GB gone. Is there anything else I can do to fix this? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks

My daugther's ipod touch got hot and will no longer turn on.  Is there a solution to this problem or is the ipod fried?

I'm not sure if it's fried or not, but try rebooting the device by pressing and holding the on/off and home buttons simultaneously for about 15 seconds or so. Hopefully you will see the Apple logo.

  • Why would my iPod show a full battery when connected to power but when not connected it will no longer turn on

Why would my iPod show a full battery when connected to power but when not connected it will no longer turn on

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

IF RESET DOESN'T WORK, FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port. Do not release button until you see picture of iTunes and plug (very important)
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note: Data will be lost

  • Installed SMC 1.3 update on 17 inch MBP - screen will no longer turn on!

Hey guys I downloaded this firmware update today on Software Update. The fan revved full speed (like it says it will) then stopped. After the restart my screen will no longer turn on. I have tried resetting PRAM, SMC, connecting an external monitor, and every other trick I can think of. The computer is still running as I can log in and use the function keys to change the volume up and down but the screen is solid black. This is the first issue I've had with the computer (purchased December 2007)and I DESPERATELY need to get it running ASAP! Anyone have any ideas?
    [edit]
To elaborate, the first time I called Apple they told me to hold the power button until the computer made a noise and then boot up. That turned the screen back on and I got in and cleared the cache as they said I should. Next reboot screen was black again. Then when I reset the PRAM I got in. Reboot, black screen. Then finally when I reset the SMC I got in, same deal on reboot. Now none of those tricks works. Any way to downgrade the SMC? At least the previous firmware worked.

Hi Balance ... in this case the weak link in the chain is your local dealer. It is odd that they "refuse clients" and Apple should be made aware of that as they are part of the support structure. Have you tried finding a kind ear at Apple who will take this on and intervene with a phone call to your local chappies?
I have also been an Apple purchaser for >20 years and this is the first time I have had a software update cause a hardware problem ... perfect storm ... a weak NVIDIA chip (mine originally passed apple tests but those tests only caught the really bad defects), an odd temperature response after the update, and a failure response that most service shops call "intermittent" (which makes them suspect it is your fault instead of Apple's. This is now a known issue linked into the update so if you find the right guy at Apple you may be able to persuade them simply to ship a new motherboard to you or the dealer...
Good luck but what, exactly, is a viable alternative to Apple?? I still keep my slide rule in my back pocket (and am now working from an old macbook while my MBP was in the shop for a week).

  • HT1386 my phone will no longer turn all the way on or sinc... It just says activation required.

My I phone will no longer turn on all the way or conect with my computer all the way to sinc.... keeps saying "activation required"? How do I activate?

The only time I have ever seen that is when my SIM card is out of my phone. Try opening the sim card tray and then replacing it after a minute. Use a paperclip to pop the door open on the side of the phone (if it is a 4 or 4s) or on top (if 3GS) and see if that changes the alert message. Check back with status if that doesn't help. You can also trying a full restore by plugging it into your computer and opening iTunes. When it recognizes the phone click on the phone name in the left menu and hit restore. This will erase the phone but if you have a backup you can restore from that after it resets the phone or you can set it up as a new phone and start from scratch. Good luck, let me know if this helps.

My ipod shuffle 3rd generation, will no longer activate by the off on swotch.  I have to plus into electrical outlet to get it to turn on to select what I want to hear.  It no longer turns off after playing selection it continues to play until battery wears down.  Seems the switch is flat, and can't be raised to be activated.

  • MacBook Pro 4, 1 will no longer turn on

My MacBook Pro 4, 1 will no longer power up.  It was working great when I shut it down but acts like it has no power now.  I have tried the instructions for resetting the SMC with no luck.  Any other ideas on what to do or the possible cause are appreciated!
    Thanks

I wanted to add that when I press the power button the power indicator light on the lid release will come on momentarily but then off real quick.  About 4-5 seconds later the light again will flash on and off.  After that, nothing.  Maybe that means something?

  • TS1367 My White 13" MacBook (the last model ever produced) will no longer turn on, and the charger light won't even luminesce when plugged in.

My MacBook has been suffering for the last 2 and a half years or so, and finally called it quits today.
There were many things wrong with it, but the most debilitating issue was with the battery; if the computer wasn't plugged into a wall, it would immediately die. Upon being powered back on, the clock would always be reset to 12/31/2000 at 7:00 PM. As I stated in the title, it will no longer even power on or recognize a charger. Help would be much appreciated. If it's a battery issue then I can replace it, but I don't want to buy a new battery if my computer is totaled.

First see the MagSafe troubleshooting tips:Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters and check to see that all looks ok.  You might want to try using another charger in case the charger is faulty.  If that doesn't help, take the MacBook Pro and charger to an Apple store genius bar and have the technicians test the system to see where the fault is.

  • HP Pavilion Desktop a6000y will no longer turn on

I have a Pavilion PC A6000y that is >5 years old, with Windows Vista.  For a time, it would not start up, no blue indicator light, but if left "on" would ultimately boot up after several minutes, and operate properly.  I also left it on for >1 week without any trouble, until an electrical storm when I lost power to the house. It will no longer power up at all, not even blue screen.  I have replaced the rear fan, replaced the complete power unit with exact spec OEM product, and replaced the power switch. Also removed and re-plugged in the memory boards. Further to one thread on here, I unplugged everything, including the power cord, held the power button down for 30 seconds and released it, switched the red power input toggle to 220 volts from 110 volts for 30 seconds and then back again.  Plugged it back in, using wall outlet directly, no power strip, still absolutely nothing.  I have held down several function keys during start, nothing. Fan does run, but no power light, no screen image.  What do I do next?  Many thanks in advance.

    AmherstDKE, welcome to the forum.
With an older computer, I always suspect the power supply unit (PSU); especially when there has been a power outage.  The power surge can cause the PSU to fail.  Here is a guide to help you troubleshoot it.
You should always have the computer connected through a Surge Protector.  This will protect your computer if there is a power outage.

  • My iPod touch will no longer turn on.

I was using it and it was fully charged. I set it down and went to do something else. When I came back and tried to turn it back on, it wouldn't turn on. It won't connect to my computer or anything. If I plug it in, it will not charge either.

Try a Reset ... You will Not Lose Any Data...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
The Apple logo will Appear and then Disappear...
    Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds...
    Release the Buttons...
    Turn the iPod On...

  • Ipod touch will no longer turn on or charge.

Hi there, I recently restored my iPod touch and i didn't really watch the restore. I know the loading bar on ipod was nearly at end. Anyways, 10-15mins later i go to use my ipod and clicking the home button nothing displays.
I then try to turn on, yet nothing. So googling, i left the battery to completely drain if there is any.
I plug my ipod into my computer and nopthing happens, it does not wake up(turn on) or even charge. I have tried an Iphone wall charger, yet no response from my ipod touch as well.
So i kept googling and i found out about some DFU mode, there was lots of different combinations on the web, i tried them all, yet my ipod does not respon. No noises, notifications or anything in itunes(if itunes closed, does not open up!)
It has now been a good few days since it stopped working, and i cannot think is there anymore to do. It is still in warranty for a few months.
Only problem is, i do not think i;m entitled to phone support, and the nearest genius for me is hours away.
PS: my iPod touch was restored to version 3.2 (latest version if thats wrong <!-- )
    I have itunes 9.1
    Running windows 7 rc
I have tried my ipod also on the following:
My dual boot vista, another computer with vista and a Mac Pro.
Can anyone suggest anything or help me please?
    Thanks in advance,
    Malcom

  • My iPod will no longer turn on after attempting to update my iTunes to the newest version.

Pretty self-explanatory for the most part. I was attempting to update iTunes to the newest version because I have been putting it off forever. It's not currently the newest version..however when it was updating, my iPod went into recovery mode (the screen flashed to the iTunes symbol & the USB symbol) & then after a few minutes of trying to restart it (pushing the home & the lock button) it went completely black & will not turn on whatsoever. My iTunes STILL will not recognize it & I have done everything to try to turn it on/get it to work, but nothing happens.
Additional details that just happened: When I try to get it out of the black screen of death by holding the home & the lock button now, the Apple icon flashes for a few seconds, but won't fully turn on, which I don't understand why? Now it's back to the recvovery mode screen.
Any suggestions? It's fully charged, I know that for sure.
I would really appreciate the help though! I walk 20 minutes to class every day & always have it with me. It's a 4th Generation iPod Touch.
    Thank you all!
