Hp touchscreen iq506

Hi i was wondering why my computer is running so slow. When i am using broadband i cant seem to download anything and pages load slowly.Once i go to wireless it seems to move faster.Im wondering what the problem is. I got all the updates from hp and am baffled.

Broadband should be much faster than wireless. Did the broadband connection work well in the past - and then get slow?

  • TouchSmart IQ506 Touchscreen Problems

Our company recently got a TouchSmart IQ506 with Windows Vista 64bit, and everything was working fine. We did a fresh reformat, got it in the network and ran all the updates and such. As you may, or may not, know, the IQ506 doesn't have a VGA port to setup a second monitor or connect to a projector, so in order to use the TouchSmart mirroring an image to the projector we purchased StarTech's USB 2.0 to VGA Display Adapter. I installed the drivers and got it working and mirroring the image properly, however, now I am having a problem with the touchscreen.
The touchscreen is responding when I touch it, but the pointer is flushed all the way to the right. The mouse follows my stylus up and down with me, but it doesn't come to the left. It is as if the screen is only reading the y-coordinates of where I am touching, and the x-coordinates are stuck all the way to the right.
The touchscreen was working perfectly fine before I installed the graphics card driver, and the software to get the VGA display adapter to work. The mouse and keyboard is working fine, everything is perfect except for this touchscreen problem. I am 99% sure it is a software issue, and I wanted to know if there is a known issue, or if anyone else has had this kind of problem. I'm assuming it is the software for the VGA display adapter, and was wondering if that is the case, what alternatives I can make so the TouchSmart can support a second display without having touchscreen, or any other, problems.
Sorry in advance if there is already a topic on this issue, I went thorugh the forums and didn't find anything about this.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

It sound like the calibration screen and the touch "focus" has been shifted to the "primary" display - which is the last added display adapter. I don't have the setup to test, but you might be able to fix by selecting the Touch panel as the primary display (maybe). You may be stuck because the USB adapter will always be enumerated as the last device.
    Perhaps...
    1) Plug in USB adapter to enable display.
    2) Go into display options and select Touchscreen as Primary and make sure "extend desktop" is unchecked.
You may also be able to trick the system by going into DM and removing reinstalling the real primary display adapter.
If all fails, you should be able to unplug the USB device and use MS system restore to go back when it was working properly.
Of course, I am saying all this without having the hardware in front ofme. I've played around with mutiple displays enough to know that you get into some funny behaviour when you have two distinct video adapters installed in the system. The best multi-display solution are those driven from one adapter - one video card with an HDMI and a DVI for example.
If you figure this out, please reply back. I'd like to know if it is possible to keep touch while using another adapter.

  • TouchSmart IQ506 - Can't Power Down, Blank/Black Screen

I have a Touchsmart IQ506.... While reading a book on the computer, the screen all of a sudden went completely black. Tried to power it off by holding the power button and it didn't work so I unplugged power cord. Replugged it. The power button automatically lit up and the whole system seem to be 'running.' You can hear the fan and the power button lights works, when you touch the screen, you can hear beeps so the touchscreen part work, but the monitor is just completely blank. Whenever I push the power button, it doesn't turn off the computer.  It just stays on and you can't do anything with it   when you press it. Whenever I plug up the computer it beeps onces and the screen does it quick white flash and then stays blank.
Would love to know any possible reason why this is happening. I'm not computer savvy when it comes to hardware but I am willing to try. This happened 16 months after purchasing the computer. No other warranty.

    Hello Din987,
I understand your Touchsmart receives power, but you are not getting an image on the screen, is that accurate? I will do all I can to help you with this problem.
First I would like to have to do is to see if you able to access the bios setup menu.
    1.       First on the keyboard locate the F10 key.
    2.       Turn the computer on and immediately start tapping the F10 key.
    3.       If successful you will see a bluish silver color setup screen.
If nothing shows up please let me know if the computer beeps or makes any odd noises. Also, this trick is pretty time sensitive so you might have to try at least three times if it fails the first time.
If I have been helpful or if you'd like to say thank you, click the white star under my name to give me Kudos. I really appreciate it.
Please respond at your earliest convenience with your results.

  • Iphone 5s ios 7.01 - touchscreen typing

After the ios 7.01/7.02 update on my new iPhone 5s I am seeing typing issues.
If the phone is in portrait mode and I hit any of the keys on the 2nd row from the bottom ("up arrow', z, x, c, v, b, n, m, "backspace") the keys under them will be pressed as well. So if i hit the "v" it will insert a space and the letter "v". If i hit "x" it will insert "x" and initiate voice control.
As you can imagine this can be very frustrating. This only occurs with the 2nd row from the bottom.
When I flip the phone to landscape mode I do NOT experience the issue.  I can even hit the key at the bottom and it will work correctly in portrait mode.
When I initially activated the phone this was NOT an issue. Only change has been the update to 7.01 and then to 7.02.
I have cleaned the touchscreen, do not have a screen protector, nor have I ever used a case with the phone.

Scheduled an appointment with a genius at the apple store.
My phone was replaced with a new one since they did not have any of the new (5s) screens on hand.
One item I would like to mention is that I don't understand the need to set up an appointment to see a genius. I was at the store on time waiting to talk to a genius. One of the employees even asked if I was. I got up to the genius bar and they directed me to check in with someone else. Really? So I had to go to random person in the blue shirt, who was just standing in the middle of the store to check in. Nothing at the store indicated I had to check in, silly me for thinking that an appointment meant I could just talk to someone. Not sure if it was just the way this store runs, or how all stores run but they should improve.
I finally got to talk to a genius, the problem with my phone was clearly evident. They then had a technician look at my phone, again they had no problem reproducing the issue. I was handed a new phone and told to restore using my backup. New phone is working well.

  • Omni 10 touchscreen does not work

    I have a 4 month old OMNI 10 5600US, S/N [edited by Moderator]
The touchcsreen fails to start when I turn on the tablet.  Since this is a tablet, I am perty much dead in the water.
How do i go about getting this fixed?

@george-p: Are you serious? This is just a bad joke, isn't?! Instead of helping a user to troubleshoot his problems and fix them, all you do is to quote the forum rules while completely ignoring the question itself. Great support you guys from HP doing there, just as I experienced also in the past. That's why I am done with this company's products!
@joe: you sure the touchscreen stopped working or the device maybe locked up after start? Try connecting a mouse and keyboard via USB hub and a USB OTG cable. If this works you can try to refresh windows without loosing your data.

  • Regression in 3.19-2 from 3.18-6 -- Venue 11 Pro touchscreen broken

    Hi folks,
Not sure if this is the best place to report it, but I've been using a Venue 11 Pro with the mobile keyboard attachment (adds a laptop-style hinge with a keyboard + touchpad + second battery), which works astoundingly well in Arch with Gnome 3 (multitouch works, three-finger middle click on the touchpad works, the removable battery works, seemingly everything works except detecting the front webcam rather than just the back one), but as of 3.19, the touchscreen no longer comes up under xinput list. I've gone back to 3.18-6 for now.

  • Touchscreen not working on fresh Windows 8.1 install

I just bought a Pavilion 11-n040nb x360 and I'm planning to buy a few more for work, but I have a problem I wasn't able to fix so far.
On the OEM Operating System the touchscreen was working without a problem. I then installed an SSD-drive and created a new partition with a clean Windows 8.1 install. From the first startup the touchscreen isn't recognized by Windows.
The touchscreen itself is still working in BIOS/UEFI-setup and the diagnostic tool proves there's nothing wrong with the hardware itself.
I found a lot of posts from people with the same problem and tried really every tip, a lot of different drivers and software, but still can't get it to work.
    More usefull info:
    - HD Graphics 10.18.10.3366 driver installed and in use
    - Synaptics 18.0.4.81 driver installed and in use
    - Windows is up to date (no recommended or optional updates available)
    - Windows system screen shows the message 'pen or touch input is not available for this display'
    - No unknown devices in Windows device management (all drivers installed)
    - Looks a bit weird to me: in device management, next to the Synaptics PS/2 Port Clickpad, there is another device called "HID-mouse" with hardware ID HID\VID_0461&PID_4DF1&REV_0300&Col01 but I can't find any other drivers for it than the default Windows-driver, I'm thinking this might be the touchscreen hardware?
Any help on how I can get the touchscreen working on this clean Win 8.1 Pro install?!

    @Dennichio ,
Hello and thank you for posting on the HP support forum.  What may have happened with your install is that the chipset driver may not have been loaded first causing issues with the touchscreen driver.
Here is the link for your systems supported drivers.
HP Pavilion 11-n040nb x360 PC (ENERGY STAR) Drivers.
Once you have downloaded all your software and drivers for your notebook you will want to boot into safe mode and uninstall your drivers.
    Windows 8 Safe Mode
You may have to reboot between each uninstall.
once this is done then you will have to boot back into windows normally.
Now install your drivers again this time make sure you install the chipset drivers before anything ellse.
Please let me know how this goes for you.

  • The touchscreen of my HP Touchsmart IQ532NL is not working at startup.

Hi, I have a strange problem. When I start my PC (Touchsmart IQ532NL, Windows 7), the touchscreen is not working. It even does not make the beep sound when I touch the screen. After a while (10 minutes or so), the touch input suddenly starts working. And then it works flawlessly. This happens every time when I start up the PC for the first time on the day. When touch input finally has started working, it also works after reboot. As if it has to be warmed up...
My PC dates from may 2009, it was originally delivered with Vista and Windows 7 upgrade. The touchscreen used to work fine for two years, it seems this problem has occured since I have recently restored the system to factory-settings and re-installed Windows 7 update. I have even restored it  again last week to see if this would help, but it didn't.  The problem occurs also in Vista, before installing the Windows 7 upgrade.
I have tried everything, including cleaning the screen, run Bios-update, run all necessary Windows updates etc. I have called HP assistance, they are not familiar with this problem. Who is?

    I can not help you

  • My touchscreen is not working. Please help!

I purchased an All In One a couple of days ago and everything seemed to be working fine but just last night the touchscreen feature isnt working. I've searched around for solutions to this issue but i havent had any luck. I'm assuming that somehow I disabled this feature and there should be a way to restore it.

I just noticed that in the control panel under 'system' it says that there is no pen or touch input available for this display. Is it possible that i somehow deleted this input option or could it just be faulty?

  • On my iPod touch 4th gen the touchscreen doesn't work when I go to my music.  Why is this and how can I stop it?

This is driving me crazy!!  I think this may be happening becaues sometimes when I put my iPod into my iHome, the iPod says it is temporarily unavailible becaue it is over heated and has to cool down.  I stopped putting it in my iHome right away but I'm curious if the touch screen is still not going to work on my music!
    EXTRA:
*After I turn my iPod off and on again, the touchscreen starts back up.
    *This has happened two times.

    Hi,
Try doing a FULL restore of your device and then put everything back on it. Tell me if this works.

  • Can I use the HDMI out on a HP ALL IN ONE TOUCHSCREEN Desktop to connect a second monitor with HDMI

Can I use the HDMI out on a HP ALL IN ONE TOUCHSCREEN Desktop to connect a second monitor with HDMI  in without any additional  software or graphics adaptor.  I have a 520-1070
HP - 23" Touch-Screen TouchSmart All-In-One Computer - 8GB Memory - 2TB Hard Drive ? I used a HDMI to HDMI cable and the monitor was not  recognized.

Here are the specs for your HP TouchSmart 520-1070 Desktop Computer. As previously stated your computer Doesn't have a HDMI output, instead it has a HDMI input. This is designed to let you connect a game console, a DVD/Bluray player, etc. to use as a monitor.
If you wish to conect a second monitor to your computer, you will need to use a USB-to-video adapter such as the EVGA UV Plus+ UV39 or EVGA UV Plus+ UV19. Using an adapter like these with the touch feature of your computer may cause issues with pointer control and you may need to disable the touch feature to use "extended desktop".

  • How can I control iPhone without touchscreen?

I want to control the iPhone without using the touchscreen. Specifically, I want a custom app to receive simple commands through pushing of  3 or 4 external buttons.  I understand this can be done through the dock pins 12 and 13.  I think I would need a microcontroller that would then send input to the app.  I just dont understand the technical issues or possiblities with this approach.
Another idea is to use bluetooth connectivity.  Once again, 3 or 4 buttons sending 3 or 4 differnet commands to the app.  I just want to be able to scroll through options in the app or change a few settings.   Once again, not sure of the technical issues or possiblites with sending input to apps via bluetooth.
For example, my app is a stopwatch.  I want one button to start the timer, once button to record laps, one button to scroll through specifics of each lap once completed, and one button to stop the timer.
I also need to understand if I can disable the screen lock so I can avoid the SLIDE TO UNLOCK since I wont be able to access the touchscreen.
I think I will need to jailbreak the phone or work with Apple on hardware accessiblity but I'm just trying to figure out how to accomplish this.

I also need to understand if I can disable the screen lock so I can avoid the SLIDE TO UNLOCK since I wont be able to access the touchscreen.

  • The touchscreen of my iphone is not working, and I want to backup my most recent photos onto my mac, but I have a passcode that I have changed since my most recent backup around a month ago. What could I do to get my photos back?

    As the title says,
My iphone touchscreen stopped working around two days ago, so I cannot input my passcode. I am trying to backup my most recent photos as I have been on a trip abroad to phuket the past week, and got back home but did not have time to move my photos from that trip onto my mac before the touchscreen stopped working. I have a problem because I backed up my iphone last around a month ago, but have changed my passcode since so my iphone is not allowing me to back up onto my mac through itunes. I wish I at least hadn't changed the passcode, or had my photos on icloud, but I have so many photos that the icloud storage would cost so much for me to keep them updated.. I am so frustrated right now as it's not that I have forgot my passcode, or that I don't know it at all, but I know it. I wish there was a software that I could use on my mac to enter the passcode or something. Is there a way I could do something about it?!

So you are not using Photo Stream? If you are, then you can turn on Photo Stream on iCloud on your Mac, and then go to iPhoto or Aperture and the Photo Stream will show under "Web" in the sidebar.
You can also set up your iPhoto or Aperture preferences to automatically import your Photo Stream, so any photos you take with your iPhone camera will upload and import automatically and will show under events, broken into monthly groupings.
Photo Stream does not use any of your iCloud storage.
Here are the Preference Screens I'm referring to:
    iPhoto:
    Aperture:
One other thing concerning your Touch Screen. Have you tried resetting your device (nothing will be lost) to see if that will get your Touch Screen working again: Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen redisplays see if your Touch Screen is working.
    Best of luck,

  • The Touchscreen on my iPod touch 2G doesn't work anymore? I turned it on this morning and the touch does not react. Now i have restored it twice and reseted it several times, no toch get recognized by the screen. Any help?

    Hello,
I have turned on my iPod Touch 2nd Generation and i wanted to slide the unlock and the touchscreen didnt responded. I then did several restarts and also restored the device after reading some forums and help platforms and still it the screen doesnt react to touch at all. It can be conected to iTunes and i can sync, but not use the device. Any additional help to revive this great device? Or is the Genius Bar and another investment my only option?
Thanks for anyone giving me a hand.
    Gaggistangerl

If you restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod and still have the problem then you likely have an hardware problem and the Genius Bar is a good option.

  • Thinkpad X1 Carbon touchscreen no longer working - it worked for a year

I have looked through all the posts on this and it seems there are 2 threads, one where the touchscreen never worked, and this was often the fact that the ordered model didn't have the touchscreen, and second (my issue) when the touchscreen stops working where it was working before.
    My model is 20A7-CTO-1WW - 2014 version - Windows 8.1 Pro.
Before anyone asks, yes, it does have the touchscreen, it has worked faultlessly for nearly a year.
Sometime in the last couple of weeks, the touchscreen stopped working completely.
I reqularly apply maintenance (Lenovo and Microsoft, my BIOS is at the latest level).
When I stated to diagnose the problem, I saw a couple of anomolies.
    1) In the "PC Settings", I says "no pen or touch input is available for this display"
I ran the Lenovo Center test, and in the Log File (full log available)...... Index 18 clearly shows the Touchscreen
And finally, if I go to the HID section of Device Manager (+view hidden), there is no reference to the Touchscreen
No reference to the Touchscreen in the BIOS settings,
Please can someone give me some advice, it seems that maybe the Touchscreen H/W has been turned off somehow.
    Thanks, in Advance, Paul
