HP TouchSmart 600 PC Windows 7 64-bit TS-T633P CDDVDW Drive wil not read CD DVD Media

Is there a firmware or driver for the TS-T633P CDDVDW drive that will allow it to read CD AND DVD discs.  Have tried troubleshooting resources from HP and Windows with no results. The CDDVDW drive make a loud huming sound  and stops
trying to read. The drive is recognized by windows and windows states the driver is up to date. I have review many suggestions from other sites and thought I would seek help here. Any good suggestions?   Also tried to change the region to 1 which is the USA and for some reason it will not allow me to reset it from region 4.  I am not from South America. Dont know how this happen.
Have uninstall driver and get the same results.

Hello again,
Try to do this, press F11 to boot into your recovery manager when you reach the options for your recovery press
ALT GR+D, a admin command prompt should appear.
Insert a CD/DVD and try to find the drive letter for your drive, either E,F,etc...try to insert a data CD and type "dir" to show you the content of the drive.
If this fails, you must replace your drive.
Thanks,

    Hi:
Please see if the Microsoft fix-it tool restores the drive for you.

If the automatic fix it tool doesn't work try the manual fix (Let me Fix it Myself) which you can read at the link below regarding editing the registry.

  • Touchsmart 600-1120 windows 8.1

I have been trying to upgrade my TouchSmart 600-1120 PC for the last year from Windows 8 to 8.1 and have been unsuccessful, now that windows 10 is available I get the same error trying to go from 8 to 10. Error is 0xC1900101 - 0x40017... To back up a bit I was able to upgrade from Windows 7 to 8 with no issues. For the las year I have done everything I have read about from upgrading all device drivers also all current windows updates, deleting temp files, disk cleanups, prefetch files, disabled and uninstalled A/V all the disk and file maintenance you can think of. The upgrade goes all the way to the very end, and then reverts back at the final boot up indicating the error and that the previous Windows version was restored. Same exact error whether I try 8.1 or 10 upgrade. Even tried to upgrade directly from the Windows 8.1 DVD got same error. Only thing I havent tried is restore system back to Windows 7 and go directly to Windows 10. If I go that route I will probably just buy a new hard disk and perform a system recovery from the disks and then try a Windows 10 upgrade, but I feel it will be more time wasted. If anyone out there has this same pc TouchSmart 600-1120 and you have battled this please let me know if there is a solution. This unit has the 1st gen Core i3 processor / Intel HD graphics so the most current Intel drivers date to 2012 but according to MS should work with 8.1 from my discussions with them. PC runs just great, don't want to upgrade to a new PC if I can solve this issue, otherwise I will just go back to Windows 7 as being stuck on Windows 8 won't do me any good as MS will stop updates to 8. Currently Running Windows 8 Pro. Thanks

I understand that after upgrading to Windows 8.1, your remote control does not work, or the volume control built into the side of the computer. HP does not have updated drivers for Windows 8.1 and your computer. Downloading or Updating Software and Drivers for HP Computers. • Installed Windows & 32 Bit But Drivers and USB ports NOT WORKING.

I bugh an HP Pavillion TS 14 Notebook that came preinstall with Windows 8.1 64 bit which I hate so wiped the drives and installed Windows 7 32 bit and now I have a big problem.  None of my network drivers work and the 2 uSB ports where I plug my mouse and other SB hardware in no longer work.
I did a back up of the SW Set up file that has all of the HP dvers for my laptop but both the network and video divers won't install. And When I try to install the drives I get the eror message saying they are not compatible with this version of Windows.
I have loked on the HP website under my laptop model which s as above but HP don't do drivers for Windows 7 32 for my laptop. And I have looked on both the Realteck website for both the Realteck ethnet and Realteck wireless network drivers but none of them work or install on my operating system. The video drivers Intel don't work either. So I am really stuck a I cannot go back to Windows 8.1 as though that 32 bit Windows 7 would work on my laptop but most of my drivers are not compatible with the operating sytem And I don't want to install 64 bit Windows as I like 32 bit.
The drivers that are not working on Windows 7 32 bit are:
    Realteck RTL8188EE 802-11b/gn witeless lan
    Realteck ethnet die and
    Intel High definition graphcs driver
Which don't work at all on Windows 7 32 bit as they are 64 bit only drivers.
So can you please post me a link bth the network and Intel graphics drvers that work with my laptop. As I have tried lots of different Realteck and raphics drivers for Window 7 but NONE of them work on my system. And None of my USB ports are working either. So how do I solve this problem?

    Hi:
Should be no problem to get W7 32 bit to work on that model.
Just use all of the drivers and software from the HP Probook 450 G0 on your model except the Audio, BIOS and firmware files.
Your model uses the Intel HD graphics driver only.
The first driver you have to install is the Intel chipset installation utility and then reboot.
    http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/public/psi/swdHome/?cc=us&lang=en&sp4ts.oid=5359407&ac.ad...
Audio:  Accept the agreement.  Download and install the first driver on the list.
    http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownT...
If for some reason, the Intel HD graphics driver from that model does not work, then use this one...

  • Windows Deployment Services - Windows 8.1 Deployment Failure (Required Driver could not be Installed)

    Hello everyone,
Give you a little background on the hardware/software which we are running to do a Windows 8.1 Deployment, we have an VM of Windows Server 2008 R2 with Windows Deployment Services installed and configured correctly. For the boot image it's a Windows 8.1
WIM and as for the Install Image we have a base image of Win 8.1 with all drivers installed for an HP EliteBook 8540w , we Syspreped and then capture the image using the W2K capture on PXE to capture and upload the image to the server. This is where we first
ran into the problem of connecting to the server and had to inject the lan drivers to have network connectivity. After the image was uploaded to the server, we thought to try and run a deployment of that image on an identical laptop. PXE boot into that Image,
it asks for domain credentials which are accepted it begins the installation process and fails at "Windows installation cannot continue because a required driver could not be installed"?
We just set up client logging on the server and it is useless it just says that the driver is missing, but what driver is missing? There are thousands, which one?
Another forum has this issue:  http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/4cf0b378-09d0-4e0b-bc6e-3d898b668f98/during-deployment-windows-installation-cannot-continue-because-a-required-driver-could-not-be?forum=w8itproinstall

    Hi,
Please first check the solution here:
Error: Windows installation cannot continue because a required driver could not be installed
    http://support.brainwaregroup.com/kb/article/AA-00702/0/Error%3A-Windows-installation-cannot-continue-because-a-required-driver-could-not-be-installed.html
Also, please try to find out Setup logs from the client computer, and we can see the details in the Setup log:
If the failure occurs in Windows PE before the disk configuration page of the WDS client is completed, you can find the logs at the
X:\Windows\Panther folder. Use Shift+F10 to open a command prompt, and then change the directory to the location.
If the failure occurs in Windows PE after the disk configuration page of the WDS client is completed, you can find the logs on the local disk volume at the
$Windows.~BT\Sources\Panther folder. The local disk volume is usually the drive
    C. Use Shift+F10 to open a command prompt, and then change the directory to the location.

  • ITunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) did not fix choppy playback

After reading all the other posts I tried installing the (64 bit for older video cards) and it did not solve my choppy playback with Music or Movies.  I am running windows 8.1, Intel i7-4500U CPU @ 1.8GHz, 8 GB RAM, 64-bit OS, x64 based processor, DELL Inspirion 15.  Never had problems until upgrading to 8.1 from 8.0.

Did you see if changing the Play Audio Using select in Edit > Preferences > Playback to "Direct Sound" resolves the issue?  Otherwise you may want to consider rolling back to 12.0 and waiting until a future release is shown to resolve the playback issues in 12.1.  See Turingtest2's notes on Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for steps needed to completely remove all installed iTunes components, and for links to the 12.0 installers.

  • X102e - Hard drive does not boot into Windows

Hi, I was trying to reinstall Windows on my X120e.
I tried clean install with Windows 7 Professional, but the hard drive does not boot into the Windows once it has done the first phase of the install(you know, the copying part)
After the restart done by Windows, it goes as far as "Starting Windows" but does not actually boot into the Windows.
When I try to install Windows with another HDD, the device works well, but I can't swap the HDD because it is not 7.5mm think HDD.
Is there any possibility the HDD will work trough any software-level process? The HDD works fine as external HDD when tested with external HDD adapter, and installs well. only problem is that it fails to boot

    Thank you for reply.
This is not exactly the issue. I was talking about the HDD originally installed in the PC.
The PC successfully recognizes the external disk I used to install the Windows, but the problem was that I did not boot into the "First boot" screen, which basically works on the already installed data.
As of now I have installed an SSD and is working fine. strange part is that HDD works just fine when I use it as an external HDD via adapter. Strange huh?

  • Cannot install windows 7 as cd drive does not reganise disc

    Hi
Trying to install windows 7 on bootcamp but cd drive does not reganise the disc & keeps rejetting, please help
    Nudge1

    Hi
The CD/DVD driver is part of the Microsoft system and also available on the Windows 7 installation disk.
Therefore there are no special CD/DVD drivers available.
I read about this theme in different forums and also on Microsoft support forum and mostly this issue appear if the Windows system disk is faulty/damage.
I dont know from where you got this disk but I recommend you to download an Windows iso file from Microsoft server as mentioned here:
    http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=73726
Then you could create own Windows installation disk or USB flash memory stick
The serial key which you got with the Windows disk could be used for activation.

  • GT72 2QD showing (Windows 8.1) GTX970M Error 45 device is not connected ..

After getting the 2 month old notebook back from repair, the mobo, GPU and RAM were all replaced, I did  the first Windows update, including the Intel GPU driver, had not done the NVidia driver update. After the reboot the system told me it was changing to the Intel graphics card, and subsequently my NVidia 970 is not available, it's listed under the Device Manager, when I enable the View Hidden Devices with the "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)".
I have updated the BIOS (same version E1781IMS.10I), in the BIOS there is no mention of NVidia Graphics. Driver updates fail.
I uninstalled the Intel card and now all I get is the default MS Basic Display Adapter.
I am guessing it's dead, I am really hoping I am wrong and you good peeps can help.
    Ideas?

GT72 has an ability to switch which graphic card to run.
Please go to the MSI official website to install a utility called "SCM" to correctly switch the graphic card to NVIDIA's one.

  • Touchsmart 600-1120 successfully upgraded to Windows 8 Pro

I just wanted to report my Touchsmart 600-1120 (BK139AA) was successfully upgraded from Win7 64 bit to Windows 8 Pro 64 bit, and I haven't run into any issues.   Here are the steps I went though.
    1. Made disk image backup using Win7 Backup and Restore.
    2. Ran the Windows 8 advisor tool to have a record the computer passes minimum requirements and I had a list of what apps will no longer work. I did go ahead and removed all of them. I never did use those apps much anyways.
    3. Ordered Windows 8 Pro upgrade DVD from Amazon.  I potentially had multiple computers to upgrade, and wanted the DVD.  Requested the free product key to unlock the Media Center add-on pack and received it in two days via email.
    4. Made another disk image backup using Win7 Backup and Restore in the event a Win7 restore is needed.
    5. Ready to upgrade.  Inserted the 64 bit DVD, nothing happened.  Manually launched Startup.exe on the DVD.
    6. Selected option to upgrade Win7, keeping all docs and preferences and let it go.  Took an hour or so, I didn't keep track.  Rebooted a couple of times and responded to any prompts for info.  When I received the logon screen for the first time, I ejected the upgrade DVD.
    7. When I logged in for the first time, I had no issues with the touch driver.  The touch was very reponsive.  Played around for a while exploring a bit.  It's actually lots of fun.  I've never been exposed to an ipad or tablet, so this was the first time I've experienced a "tabletized" interface for lack of a better term.
    8. Followed the instructions in the email to install and unlock the Media Center pack.  It took a while to add the software.  My only concern was if the AVerMedia TV card (A327) would work.  After the install there was the normal Media Center icon shown on the app tiles.  Launched it and had go through the process of setting up the TV tuner.  Once it found the tuner card (yea!) I told it to use the existing preferences for channels and such and it worked like it did in Win7.
Launched Windows Update and it found a few things to update.  I played around for a couple of hours to get familiar with the new interface, and how to display the old Win 7 desktop.  It took me a while to figure out how to make an image backup.  I had another computer handy with internet access and it was quicker to google to find answers to my questions.  One of which is the option to use the familiar Win 7 backup and restore, so I made a new disk image with the new OS and stored it away.
I have this computer on the kitchen counter and use it mainly for TV watching while cooking and occasional recipe lookups.  In the Windows store, there are some free recipe apps, like allrecipes.com.  I installed a bunch of the free recipe and news apps.  I don't know if I'd use the touch screen on a regular basis, although it is nice to have, it leaves lots of fingerprints, particuarily in a kitchen environment.
I'm very relieved I didn't run into hoops I had to jump thorough considering reading about Win8 upgrade issues others have experienced.

Hello, I was also able to go to Windows 8Pro, but have been unsuccessful trying to go to 8.1 or to 10, great PC feel I will need to restore it back to Windows 7. Have you been able to at least get it up to Windows 8.1? Thanks
