First I wanna say I'm sorry for my English, I'm not verry good at it.
I have a problem,
I have bought a HP PC, If I wanna use the Webcam, It's black, The computer sees it, but it's black.
And I have a other problem,
I don't have start thing like I saw at Youtube,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pc1PYc0pIzw&feature=related
I don't have a house Icon?
Can someone help me,

What is HP's position on this machine and Win8?
I have one of these machines running Win8 64-bit, but it often gives problems.
Video driver issues with the screen going blank(which I learn by reading other posts, is quite a common issue with Win8 on the TouchSmart machines), and recently, sound problems, where the sound just mutes by itself, and there is nothing you can do to make the sound work again. Sometimes, if you wait a while it works again, but the sound can just fail half way through a movie for no apparent reason. There is NO warning, wierd sounds or anything - it just dies and you can't get sound again from that point. Rebooting SOMETIMES fixes the problem, but only with about a 75% success rate. It is NOT the application causing the problem with the sound - no applicaiton that uses sound will output it - not even the Windows Sound app in Control Panel.
So, at the end of the day, can someone at HP please confirm for me if this model machine is actually compatible with Win8?
I am guessing that it is NOT supported at this stage, as I have not been able to find any Win8 specific drivers for this model machine, unless I am not looking in the right place, and that is quite possible!!!!

Your particular experience with Windows 8 will be determined by the capabilities of your PC.
HP is providing upgrade instructions and drivers will be available for most Windows 7 systems sold after 1st October 2011.
If you want to restore the original operating system after upgrading, you must create HP recovery media before you upgrade.
Please note that if you purchased your system prior to October 1, 2011, HP has not tested these PCs or developed Windows 8 upgrade instructions or drivers for them. Upgrading such systems may be difficult or impossible.

Doesn't it use an external AC Adapter? If so, all you should need to use in another country is an adpater plug to match the wall socket.

Is it possible to hook up a TouchSmart IQ500 Series computer as a touch screen monitor for another HP Computer (Envy Phoenix 810 running Windows 365.

I understand that you are looking into using your HP TouchSmart IQ500 AiO PC as a monitor to another HP Computer. The answer is "NO" you may be able to connect a computer to it using an adapter like an HDMI to USB adapter, but I was unable to locate the functionality to allow you to switch inputs on this computer.

Hello, I have such problem. My TouchSmart IQ500 when turned on shows only startup screen.

When I turn on the TouchSmart IQ500, it shows only startup screen.
Pressing F11 (System recovery) does not affect anything.
Pressing F10 - it writes entering setup... and nothing more happens
Pressing F9 - also no response.
Please tell me what can be done?

It sounds a LOT like a dead hard drive, running diagnostics would be a good place to start.

TouchSmart IQ500 Series PC & HDMI

I'm attempting to connect another monitor to my Touchsmart however, I cannot seem to locate the HDMI connection? Does the IQ500 series HAVE an HDMI connection? And if not, how may I utilize a dual monitor with this computer?

In System Preferences>Fax & Print, Right click or Control+click on the Printers list Sidebar, choose Reset Printing System.
if you hold option and click the "-" tab it resets the printing system.

Touchsmart iq500 permanent sleep mode

So I Was On My Desktop And I Accidentally Hit The Power Button Sending It Into Sleep Mode, As Soon As The Screen Went Black It Touched It To Take It Out Of Sleep Mode But It Stayed Black Even Though It Was Running. I **bleep** It Off By Holding The Power Off And Then I Cut It Back On To See If It Worked But It Was Still Black, I Tried Unplugging It, Same Thing. Whenever I Turn It On It Goes Straight Into Sleep Mode Then Cuts Off Then Cuts Back On By Itself. I Need help

Best advise to give you right now is that you need to do a power drain on your unit.
In order to do that...
1. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds
2. Unplug the power cable for 10 seconds
3. Press and hold again the power button for 5 seconds
4. Plugin the power cable and turn on the unit
If same issue happened again, please consult or call HP support line so that they can give you some assistance like repair option

Webcam not active in tochsmart video application

when i start my touchsmart video application the webcam button on bottom of screen will not highlight or not activate on my hp IQ500

I'm having the exact same problem and have figured out what caused it for me.
VISTA Service Pack 2 caused my issue.
Restore your computer back to before the Vista SP2 and your webcam will work again.
Hope this helps ... I have an IQ506 and that's what worked for me, and I currently have a post trying to resolve this as well.
I believe the only fix will be an update by HP to correct the conflict.

IQ500 Blue screen with no response

I have a HP Touchsmart IQ500 that is a little over a year old. It was working fine and I went out one day to come back and start it up to find it was only a blue screen with a few options.I found someone with a similar problem and they explain it better so here is the problem:
The system booted up to the blue screen with the HP and Intel logos and four options listed which were: <F10=Setup>, <Esc=Boot Menu>, <F11=System Recovery>, and <F9=Diagnostics>.
Pressing either F10 or Esc resulted in the messages "Entering Setup..." or "Loading Boot Menu..." respectively but the system immediately freezes. Pressing either F9 or F11 has no discernable effect at all.
Pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete, pressing the power button, or hard-cycling the power all have the same effect of bringing me right back to the blue screen.
There seems to be no computer response to anything I do, besides the blue screen being there. I also cannot get the computer to start in safe mode, since I also tried that.
I would greatly appreciate any help as I have a lot of personal items on the computer I would hate to lose. Thank you for any help!

Yes .. it might be a hard drive problem. And not a very fun kind of hard drive problem. I was thinking about this thread alot last night... trying to figure out any other possible problem. There is also the lesser possibility that it might be heat related damage to the motherboard, memory, graphics card, or processor... but these types of issues usually show up as intermittent lockups and freezes.
THe easiest fix I can think of, for someone who is not all that computer-savvy, is to replace the hard drive. THis sounds hard, but it is pretty easy on TouchSmarts. Before you start, you must have a set of ecovery discs if you want the software to be the same as when you bought it.
If you don't have discs, you can order a set from HP for minimal cost.
Once you have the recovery discs, you simply swpa out the hard drive with power unplugged...put everything back together and insert the first recovery disc into the PC to start the recovery process.
