Is there someone using this model-IQ526cn ?
At the beginning, Vista support the two finger touching but After I installed the windows 7, the multi-touch function lost ...any advice for this is appreciated, thx.

You might want to check out the HP TouchSmart Community website/forum - they have a whole "beta" group for Win7 on TouchSmart, with links to drivers for multi-touch.

I have a Mac Mini and a Mac book pro both of which are connect to the same Acer Touch Screen Monitor. I am using it as write this to you.All you need to do is download the free drivers from www.touch-base.com. The basic touch drivers are free. I also purchase the mac gesture drivers for $109 USD and they work great. You can even activate the on screen keyboard in the mac accessibility settings which allows you to have a touch screen keyboard.

I am having trouble with my bookmarks having disappeared on my WORK computer and IT had me completely uninstall Mozilla Firefox yesterday. I reinstalled the newest version of Mozilla Firefox today. I still do not have any bookmarks, even after saving new ones and now I find information that my husband searched on his computer at home showing on my work computer. How can that happen and what needs to be done to fix whatever corruption seems to be going on?

Windows 7 and Multi Touch on IQ790

Hello
I am wondering if there is a multi touch driver available for this model.
As far as I know this model also uses the NextWindow Hardware which is multi touch capable and uses FTIR but as of yet the driver they provide is only for the IQ500, IQ800, and DX9000 series: http://www.nextwindow.com/nextwindow_support/windriver.html
Does anyone know if a multi touch driver will be provided by them or by HP at some point.
I tried contacting NextWindow but they have not replied yet.

Mine is the IQ790 though. Is that the same as for the IQ770?
I have already tried installing the driver on my machine but it just gets to about 99% and then uninstalls itself and says an unexpected error occurred and to try setup again. It does exactly the same thing on another machine without a touch screen so I'm thinking either the driver isn't finding the expected hardware or possibly there is some other problem. Looking through information I found it seems the IQ790 uses an older firmware than the IQ800 so it may be thay if I could upgrade the firmware the driver may work.
When touching the screen when a second finger is placed on the screen the screen makes a lower pitched beep than the first press with a touble tap generating a higher pitched beep.
From what I have read the system uses a NextWindow touch screen which supports two fingers (using infrared light and two cameras) at once as opposed to the N-trig hardware which supports more than two (using full FTIR).
As far as I can tell there is just a lack of drivers and if the proper drivers were provided then in theory it should support multi touch (I may be wrong though!). I'm hoping this is the case and that at some point the drivers will be developed.
Can anyone confirm this?

Macbook multi-touch functionality with LION OSX

I know that some of the older MacBooks (2006-07) have multi-touch trackpad. Are some of those models only one or two finger touch? I am wanting to upgrade to Lion OSX and want to make sure the trackpad will support three and four finger gestures. And which is the oldest macbook model that supports multi-touch and will support all the functions on OSX LION?

Ok, I called AppleCare about this earlier too and they told me that as long as the macbook can support Lion, then it can use the muliti-touch functions. The portables listed in that article have multi-touch trackpads and will support those features. I guess my questions is the macbook that support 2 finger swipe or scrolling are not really multi-touch trackpads then, so they will not support those four finger gestures of Lion?

The only notebook that HP sells for Consumers at the moment that support multi-touch is the TX2z. The TX2000 model line, (and the TX2500 and TX1000 lines) support single touch tablet mode only.
So, in short, no. the TX2620 you are looking at purchasing does not have multi-touch available on it.

Support for Multiple Multi-Touch Screens

I have written some code that implements the multi-touch and it has been working fine with just one multi-touch screen. However, someone using my program with 2 multi-touch screens hooked up is getting no input from the second device. I did not
see anything documentation referring to more than one multi-touch device, although the existence of hSource in the TOUCHINPUT structure would imply multiple devices are supported. After searching the forums, I found this post

thank you for your quick reply. I have gotten a few more details and the problem is not the scenario you suspected. They are using 1 window spanning 2 multi-touch monitors. The problem does seem to be related to simultaneous input. If
they have a finger down on the first monitor, my program does not receive any events from the second monitor. If they are not pressing down on the first monitor, the input from the second monitor comes through.
Does Windows 7 support simultaneous input from 2 or more multi-touch monitors? Is there something I have to do so that my program will work correctly? Or are there driver specific issues, and if so, where can I get help for that?

What happened to the multi-touch gestures in Finder?

I've updated to Lion last week. Overall, I think what Apple did was great to the overall experience. However, my only gripes are in Finder. What happened to the multi-touch gestures? The only thing that I can do is flip through files in cover view using two finger swipes.
What happened to the pinch to zoom in and out? I've seen other posts about this so I'll stop here. Apple please bring this function back. I'm tired of moving my mouse to the drag handle.
Secondly, I was using three finger swipes to navigate to the previous and next folder in Finder. Since two finger is used to flip through cover view, I see why they couldn't extend the back/forward function to two finger swipes as they did in Safari and I know that three finger swipe is used to change desktops. I wish that Apple was more creative to leave this function in somehow.

That doesn't explain why they would remove the pinch to zoom in and out. That is not be used by anything else in finder. If I'm going through pictures, I would like to zoom in on the images for cover view.
As far as the three figure swipes to go back and forth in finder, I understand why that has been removed. However, Apple could have implemented the two finger swipe just like in Safari which is sensitive to the acceleration of the swipes. If you swipe with two fingers somewhat fast, you can go back and forth between previous and next page. If you swipe with two fingers slowly, you can pan left and right on the same page.
They could have done something to retain the functionality versus taking out the functionality all together. As of now, these functionalities do not exist. I'm hoping that something is going to change and we'll have to see what the future brings.

Firefox 4 does not support zoom-in/out with two fingers on Windows 7 with a multi-touch scrren, IE8 does.

I have a HP 2740p notebook with multi-touch support. With IE8, I can zoom-in/out the web page with two fingers, but I can not with Firefox 4. It seems that FF4 only support basic touch (scroll with finger)

Will/should multi touch be supported on Ubuntu (yet)?

Hi!
We're currently testing JavaFX 2.2.0 b11 on Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04 and found out happily, that the API already offers support for multi touch events! (We didn't expect multi touch support before 3.0).
The new TouchEvent API works fine on Windows 7, but there seems to be no support for Ubuntu (yet).
Is this a bug or simply 'not implemented yet'? If so, can we expect a full support of TouchEvents on Ubuntu in 2.2.0 GA?

unfortunately multi-touch won't be supported on Linux in JFX 2.2. We are waiting for the stable support (X.org 7.7 & GTK 3.4) in the stable distributions (in case of Ubuntu it won't be earlier than 12.10). Implementing it right now would mean dropping support for Ubuntu 10.04 while adding nothing new for the vast majority of users.
