HP TrueVision camera is off center

I have a HP Pavilion dm4-1160us. It has been working very well until recently the HP TrueVision lense somehow gets off center. Half of the lense is covered by the frame. So, it will have a dark area almost half off the screen where the lense is covered, but the other half is still working nice. I don't know how to get to back to center. Any suggestion will be appreciate.  Thank you!

  • FaceTime camera appears off-center

I noticed today that on my iPhone 6 the FaceTime camera on the front appears way off-center. I've attached a photo, but it's a little hard to see. It doesn't seem to interfere with the camera, but I don't really know that without a comparison and I haven't seen any other iPhone 6 in person to compare how it looks. Should I
take this in to have looked at?

Here's a clearer photo. The lens does not appear to match up with the cut out or something beneath the glass seems to have slid over. I guess I can always just pop into an Apple store and ask them about it, but I was wondering if anyone else's looked like this.

  • My ipad 2 camera is off center is every ipad 2 like that?

My front facing camera is terribly off center. My face isn't big at all and is on the small side even, but if I hold the ipad in landscape mode in a comfortable position half of my face gets cutoff. I have to stretch my arms all the way to get all of my face in and it's centered on the right-hand side of the screen. Are all ipads like this or can I trade it in for a more centered camera?

I'm not near an Apple Store, so I called Applecare and told them about it.(had to call back b/c of a system being down). They said they will ship me a new one this week. I know it has to be a design flaw because, my other ipad 2 does NOT have this problem at all! I have the photos to prove it to them, and offered to send them to them, but the declined.
Later this afternoon after I posted here, I went to BestBuy and played around with the ipad 2 that was on display. And guess what? the front facing camera was fine. I also hit PC Richards and tested their display model, and again, no problem with front facing camera!
I just hope the one they send me works like my other one. For the money we pay for these things, they should work correctly. Having to angle your arm all the way to the right would only serve as a recipe for disaster, that when taking a photo, it only would serve to make it easier to drop the ipad altogether.
Thanks for your reply. Maybe you should contact apple again and make them aware of it. Tell them you know people who have ipads that do NOT have the problem. They have to replace it!
Being that you're covered, they will send one out to you (so you can use the one you have until you get the replacement). Then, you just have to put the one you have in the box and peel off the label, and have Fedex pick it up and send it back to them. But make sure your replacement works before you do . The first thing I'm going to do is test the replacement camera immediately.
Good luck and give it a shot. Spending $good money on these things, they should work!

  • Camera photos off-center

Sometimes when I take a picture on my iPhone 5, the image that it captures is not the image on the screen. Right when I press the shutter, the camera takes a picture several inches higher than was on my screen.

Same problem here with my up-to-date 5. It ruind a follow shot I only had one chance to get.

  • Iphone 6 Camera Off Center

My camera is off center. I would like to start a discussion about this and keep the thread open until Apple has a confirmed resolution. Obviously bringing it into a store and getting a new one isn't working.

There's already a lengthy thread about this cosmetic defect issue: FaceTime camera appears off-center
You don't need to start a new thread.  I suggest you use the forum search function in the future.

  • Xperia Z3 off center camera

Hallo! Recently i changed the screen due to yellow tint at the bottom. After that(maybe service operation isn' t the problem), i spotted that my rear camera is off center.. After a recearch, i found thay many sony and samsung devices have this problem, but i can' t understand why, since the position of the camera and of the back glass is standard.. Do you have this issue? It' s only cosmetic. Here is a picture:

  • FaceTime Camera Off-center on iPhone 6

Has anyone else noticed their FaceTime (front facing) camera on their iPhone 6 to be off center? My original phone was off by quite a bit, and was swapped out by the Genius Bar for a new one. It was perfect at the time I received it (few days ago) but now appears to start shifting out of center, as apparent by a slight white crescent shape on the top right (I'll post pictures later today).

look at mine, I've got detailed picture showing its the film around the camera thats moved, not the camera itself... very annoying defect. seems to be most/all space grey iPhone 6

  • MacBook built-in iSight camera off center

    Hi Folks,
Is there any way to re-align the built in iSight camera on a MacBook? In order to be centered in the image, I have to turn my MacBook about 8 or 9 degrees to the left. If I am sitting directly in front of the camera, I am off-center. Any help is appreciated. My girlfriend and I both have MacBooks, and her camera appears to be aligned properly.

Call apple support, I wouldnt try realigning it myself, otherwise if you do end up needing apples help they can blaim you by "offcentering it in the first place" sorta thing...

  • FaceTime camera on new iPad appears off center

This isn't my first iPad so I am familiar with how the FaceTime camera operates but when using this new one my camera appears to be off center and my face is cut off in both landscape and portrait positions. Does anyone know why it might be doing this?

What do you mean? The FaceTime camera isn't aligned in the center of the top of the iPad? As for your face being cut off, I think that may be a software glitch, just restore your iPad (back it up before you restore it, but don't put any of your apps back) then see if the problem still persists. If it's fixed after you have no apps, try updating all your apps, otherwise an app may have a bug that is causing your iPad to do this. The FaceTime camera may not look aligned because you might be concentrating too hard at it. Let me know if this helped

  • Camera photos look off-center but aren't really

Does anyone have this problem? You take a pic with the iPhone camera and every one looks off-center? I tried taking a few today for the first time and they were all a little to the left. So I trashed them then tried again and same thing. Then I turned the iPhone landscape and voila the pic was centerd correctly. I turned the iPhone back straight up and again it stayed centered.
But if I go back to the home screen, choose Photos, and select the same one, it's off-center again, until I turn it landscape and back, and then it's fine again.
I post this to find out if this is happening to others or whether it's just a glitch in my iPhone. It's worth mentioning I figure since it may cause you to mistakenly think you took a bad picture and then trash it.

Yes, I have this problem and searched forum and found your message. Thank you for the solution of rotating to landscape. It was driving me nuts. I don't know what is causing this behavior but am very surprised you have not received a response. This seems a very noticeable problem, but not so bad now that I have found out from you the image is actually ok. thanks, ralph

  • Titles off center. imovie08

I have several posts regarding the crashes experienced using imovie08. My post today is in regards to the titles that I put into my project. II am working in 16:9 (shot on the camera in that format, and I specify 16:9 when creating an Imovie08 project) When I add titles using the scrolling credits, all of my type is all center aligned just left of center. It almost appears that Imovie08 does not recognize that fact that I set the project to be 16:9 and is centering it for 4:3??? I don't' know but you spend time doing somthing and the this simple operation gives my projects a very bad "feel", like I forgot to hit the align button. I hope Apple fixes all of these quirks with the next update.....I love the new Imovie08 in theory, but I have to give it an "F" in actual functionality thus far...great concept, very poor execution of this application on Apples part. They should have never released the "new version" with all these bugs in it. Especially for a company that has this "media " reputation...Apple /PC commercials....yeah my Apple can make movies but the type is off center, it keeps crashing and losing info(projects)..so if you want to keep things you create, and have your titles actually centered in the frame, use a pc?? BTW i would never buy a pc, but when my pc friends see this #$%7 it doesn't make them want to switch to Apple anytime soon. Bad move on Apple's part in releasing a sub par product...keep the quality high. That's why people like Apples, because they work.

I just wanted to add that I too am experiencing the issue of "centered" titles being shifted slightly to the left of center. This is NOT an issue of failing to select centered justification in the 'Show Fonts' box. The titles are center-aligned, but their center point is somewhat left of the center of the frame.
    I'm working in 4:3 format, incidentally, so this isn't a 16:9-specific behavior.
Note that the text appears correctly centered when I'm typing or viewing it in the edit box. It doesn't shift to the left until I preview it or play back the project.
*Here's a specific thing I've found that triggers the behavior:*
-- When you're typing your scrolling credits, as long as they all fit in the original edit box, your title will center correctly.
-- As soon as you add one additional line of credits, forcing the text to scroll up in the edit box, your text will be shifted to the left when you preview it.
-- If you delete the added line, so the text no longer has to scroll in the edit box, your title again will center correctly.
So, I guess a workaround is to split long scrolling lists into multiple titles. But you shouldn't HAVE to do that. I'd say we've exposed a bug here.

  • Ordered prints. Several were cut off at edges or were printed off center. How do I prevent this in the future?

Ordered prints from my Mac library to Apple. Several came back cut off or printed off-center. How do I prevent this in the future?

How do I prevent this in the future?
Before ordering any print product proof it by creating a PDF file of it according to this Apple document:    iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing an order in iPhoto or Aperture.  Save the PDF file to compare with the printed copy when it arrives.
For this book contact Apple via the 800-275-2273 phone number. Apple has been very good a correcting problems.  They gave me a refund so I could order again.

  • The metering spot on my Canon D7 is off center when I look into the viewfinder.

Using my Canon D7 in Yellowstone and the metering spot? in the LCD screen is off center to the right.  I was shooting in AV mode.  Don't know how to get it back to the center of the screen.  I am a newbie to this camera.  The autofocus spots seem OK.

  • Screen is off center

I just got my macbook pro through fedex today
When i turned on my lovely new macbook pro, i noticed the viewable screen is slightly off center to the left.
I had mine upgraded to hi-res, and was wondering if everyone is having the same problem or if i should take it in for a replacement.

I would imagine this is a setting on the TV itself, refer to the manual that came with the TV.

  • Lens off-center on new iSight

I just received my new iSight and just started testing it. I notice that my lens internally seems to be slightly off-center as I am not centered in the window if I sit dead center in front of the camera. Is this a common issue? It doesn't seem to be a huge problem as I can rotate the camera and center myself, but it just seems a bit odd.
    Thanks for the help,
    Todd

I guess I just wasn't sure how common it was if at all. I searched here and so no other mention and seeing as your reply is the only one thus far, it leads me to believe it is an anomaly. I may return it for another, I haven't decided yet.
Thanks a lot for the response,
    Todd
