HP UPD 5.9

U have updated the HP UPD on my netware 6.5 broker from 5.7 to 5.9. I have iprint client 5.96 on my windows 7 x64 machines and since the updated driver the printing is so slow in every application. To quick print an email in Outlook takes at least 30 seconds before printing starts.

Hi,
you could have a look over here:
https://forums.novell.com/showthread...5-96-very-slow
HP is working on this issue.
A little workaround is to add the printer via "iprintcmd -a ipp://server/..."
or manually via http://server/ipp.
Best Regards,
Sven

  • PDF Printing Problem with HP UPD Printer

    Hi,
in our Company we use the HP UPD Driver PCL5 in Version 5.9.0.18326. The Printermodells are HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401, HP LaserJet Pro 400 Color M451, HP LaserJet Enterprise Flow M830z, HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 MFP M525dn, HP LaserJet Enterprise M630dn, HP LaserJet Enterprise Flow M680z and HP LaserJet Enterprise Flow M880z with newest Firmware.
If a PDF file is printed using Adobe Reader, it takes a long time until the file is printed on the printer. Partially individual pages are printed in one-minute intervals. But if I use another PDF viewer such as Foxit Reader, PDF documents can be printed at normal speed.
Other documents, such as Word or Excel files are printed normally. Only PDF documents that are printed with Acrobat Reader or Adobe Acrobat are affected. We use the Acrobat Reader version 11.0.10. With version 11.0.6, the problem also occurs.
Sometimes it also happens that the PDF document fills up the memory of the printer when it was printed with Adobe Reader. With Foxit Reader this does not happen with the same document.
Does anyone know this problem and knows what to do?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Select
    /var/log ▹ cups ▹ error_log
from the hierarchical list on the left side of the Console window. If you don't see that list, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar. Then select the messages from the time of the last failed printing attempt. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

  • Yast installation problem on Oracle Enterprise Linux Rel 5 Upd 2

    Hi,
I installed Oracle Enterprise Linux Rel 5 Upd 2 on a new server (Intel 64 bit) with the downloads from oracle
    (Enterprise-R5-U2-Server-x86_64-disc1.iso till Enterprise-R5-U2-Server-x86_64-disc6.iso).
Then I wanted to install Yast for administering my machine and downloaded yast_el5_x86_64.tar, again from Oracle. Running the Yast install routine it required the perl-Digest-SHA package. I downloaded that from Oracle ULN and installed it.
Now, running the Yast install routine again, I get a bunch of warnings and errors about failed dependencies and NOKEY's.

  • Server 2012 R2 RDS, User Profile Disks are created but local profiles are created as well. The UPDs aren't mounting correctly.

2012 R2 RDS Deployment with RDCB HA and UPDs enabled. Everything was working fine with no issues until users started getting temporary profiles. Around the same time UPDs were being created but at the same time a user profile was created in C:\Users.
I actually rebuilt the entire RDS configuration except the SQL Server. It took about 5 hours and was not that big a deal but.... we still have the same issue!
Does anybody have the solution for this?

    Hi,
In most cases, the issue is caused by locked UPD. And the workaround is to log off the user. Please check if it is the case.
    For example:
RDS user profile disks - getting error temporary profile are being used as UPD are not accessible
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/0d4b66fc-b53f-435e-b036-142b6ed15d0b/rds-user-profile-disks-getting-error-temporary-profile-are-being-used-as-upd-are-not-accesible?forum=winserverTS
Also, please check if you will get the temporary profile when logging on with a local account of the session host server.
If issue persists, please check if there is any related error in Event Viewer and provide us for further research.
    Hope this helps.

  • Unable to print on hp 1320 even after installing upd

I am unable to print (even test pages) to my printer. I've tried installing the upd and after days of working on it, was finally able to print. But I'm finding that it won't print again today.
I also notice that there are 2 printers installed. One is called HP Universal Printing PCL5 and the other is hp Laserjet 1320 series UPD PCL5. I'm not sure which of the two printers I should focus on. I was able to get the latter to print but now am unable to get either to print. It is connected to a netgear router.

  • Problem Installing a LaserJet P1606dn on a printer server using the HP UPD

I'm trying to setup a LaserJet P1606dn printer as a local printer on a 64bit Server 2003 print server.  I'd like to use the HP Universal Print Driver as the printer driver for Citrix compatibility (per the HP whitepaper entitled "HP printers supported in Citrix XenApp server environments").  I successfully downloaded, extracted and installed the latest HP UPD PCL5 driver on the print server without issue.  I then successfully added the P1606dn as a new local printer (using a new Standard TCP/IP port directed to the IP address of the printer) and configured it to use the UPD PCL5 driver.   Everything appears ok with the setup, but when I try to print a test page, nothing prints out.
I've confirmed that I've configured the TCP/IP port with the correct address and that the printer is connected to the network and pingable from the print server.  I also tried using the HP UPD PCL6 driver with the same result.
    Thanks.

    Hi @yamIT ,
I read your post and see that you need a driver for 64 bit Server 2003. I would be happy to help you.
There is a 64 bit listed under the Basic Drivers.
Here is a link to the drivers web page for the Server 2003 drivers. HP LaserJet Pro P1606dn Printer.

Download the current GarageBand version to a computer's iTunes library, go to the device, sign into the iTunes App Store with the Apple ID used to do that, and try downloading it from the list of previous purchases. If that doesn't work and you don't already have a copy of a compatible version, you can't.

  • Printing from Adobe Reader X with HP UPD PCL6 ver 61.107.4.8232 and Win 7 x64

    Hello,
I have a Windows 2003 32-bit server with HP UPD PCL6 driver, version 61.107.4.8232 installed for several HP P4014dn printers.  I'm running into an issue printing from Adobe X on Win 7 x64 machines.  There is a delay of about 5-10 minutes, per page, before the job is spooled and printed.
Any thoughts on why this only affects Win 7 x64 machines?  Printing works without any issues on Win XP and Win 7 32-bit machines.
    Thanks in advance.

This is true when printing a .pdf file opened thru IE and a saved .pdf file.

  • HP UPD PDF's not printing, but computer says it did

I haven't ever used UPD before. I installed a new printer using the UPD b/c I couldn't find a regular driver. Its working fine.
So I wanted to see if the UPD would help an HP 4050 print faster on pdfs. In Imanager I associated the UPD driver to the HP4050 (I installed that UPD as a driver for a HP 4015), but I figured its Universal right?
On the test computer I Installed the HP 4050 with the new UPD driver. Everything works perfectly EXCEPT when I print a pdf, it shows up in the print que, then says it printed successfully, however nothing comes out of the printer. Also Its not like it is hung, b/c I can immediately print a non pdf to the same printer.
    Please help, I'm clueless.

I have personally fought with HP universal print drivers and iPrint countless hours over the years on an OES1 iPrint server. I win some battles and lose others when it comes to HP drivers and iPrint. Sometimes I can get them to work perfectly well, sometimes so-so, or sometimes not at all. It just depends on the printer and its corresponding drivers. However, I have found that sometimes (with problematic universal driver printers) you can select the printer's properties in control panel and find the option to update settings (that updates paper trays installed, memory, etc), and sometimes this has resolved my printing issues in the past. It can take several seconds or more at times for all the settings to be updated after requesting to poll the printer. Also, make sure you are running the latest version of the iPrint client. If you are running XP, make sure you are fully patched and have any recommended Microsoft issued iPrint or IPP related patches/hotfixes installed. That can make a difference at times I've found (when dealing with older iPrint clients with XP). Also, don't forget you can always manually reinstall the drivers via the update driver option for the iPrint printer object in the control panel on a Windows OS AFTER iPrint has autoinstalled the drivers from its driver store. Unfortunately, it seems that once iPrint gets its hands on the drivers (after being uploaded initially), they don't always end up being redistributed to subsequent clients in the same condition as the driver files originally were. Also, you might find a generic non-universal HP print driver that works ok with your 4050. Experiment with some other legacy HP drivers, such as the base 4000 series PCL drivers. Best wishes.

  • How to duplex print pdf file on hp 1320 using upd pcl5 on windows 7 ?

I am running Windows 7 Professional (64bit), with a HP laserjet 1320 using driver HP UPD PCL5 (v5.5.0.12834), with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro v9.5.2 and MS Word 2010. When I print a Word 2010 file I can choose duplex printing (print on both sides) and everything works fine. However, when I open a PDF file, click FILE then PRINT then PROPERTIES the PRINT ON BOTH SIDES option shows "none" and no other option is shown. I searched Adobe support and it says duplex printing is controlled by the printer driver, not Adobe software. I have uninstalled & reinstalled the UPD PCL 5 driver two times already but still the same problem of not being able to choose duplex printing for any PDF document - yet it works for MS Word. Any ideas ? Thanks

How do I duplex print on an HP 1320 printer that uses windows 7 (64 bit) system?

  • Can I use return table in non-cumulative cubes upd rules?

    hi,
Is it possible to use return table in non-cumulative cubes upd rules?
    What I mean is:
In non-cumulative cubes I need to use Automatic Time Conversion for time chars and when I use return table I have to map fields from comm structure to return table.
I am designing stock cube (with granularity on storage bin and quant level) where material movement data is took from Transfer Order docs. Data for source and target storage bin are in one document item, so I have to split each record.

  • UPD processer is not being used

    Hi Friends,
We have 2 application servers and one central instance. Each of these servers are having 1 UPD processor and 1 UPD2 processor.
When the system is heavily loaded, i could see a lot of (more than 200) upadates are queued up in SM13 transaction. And when I check the SM66 transaction I could see only 2 UPD processors are being used which are from Application 2 and Central Instance and no UPD processor is being used from Application 1.
What could be the reason? also, our updates are taking a lot of time get completed.
In SM14 transaction all these UPDs are active.
    Please help.
    Thanks,

    Hello Sarvanan,
What do you mean by "the respective field not having the Unit/Curr Objects"..?..some of them are of the type "number" whereas others are CHARS.
Everytime when i add some field i cannot re-create the whole transformation. There has to be some inconsistency as my mapping of source-target field is correct. I have also raised this to OSS but as usual they are taking thier own sweet time to reply.
Surprisingly the transformation got activated yesterday and the dataload too was successful. Today again the same ols problem of "parameter is not being used"..!!
still could you pls throw some light on Unit/Currency objects that u mentioned..??
    Thanks in adv.

  • Is it true there's NO sec. upd. vs. Shellshock virus for SL?

Sorry, but if this is true then I have little time to waste for either getting back offline or (apparently) upgrading as noted below. I've intentionally been staying offline for several weeks - waiting for a security update from Apple.
Today, I spoke over the phone to an employee at an Apple Store. He said that there is a sec. upd. for the new malware/virus which reportedly can penetrate Mac OSX, but that it's only good for Lion, Mountain Lion & Mavericks. Therefore, I must assume that Apple is forcing SL users to either upgrade or swim in the 'shark infested internet of things'.
So the bottom line is (apparently) that Mac is leaving it's Snow Leopard users unsupported on this? If this is true, then it's an EPIC FAIL for a good # of users who still use SL.
My best wishes to all of the other faithful Snow Leopard users who are left to fend for themselves.
    Thanks in Advance

No, I don't run a web server, I just love my Snow Leopard and so I will do whatever it takes to keep it purring.
The link that you posted looks quite promising!
Yes, as you say that is pretty good - all things considered.
I guess it just boils down to my responsibility to do as much due diligence as it takes; that I may come to understand (more comprehensively than I do right now) the seemingly daunting technical complexities that currently have me in such a quandary.
Nonetheless, I thank you and all of your compatriots here at the ASC for your thoughtful and elegant guidance.

  • UPD, Black Screen, and Securing connection

    Hello All,
I have configured a Server 2012 R2 RDS setup. I have the RDCB's in HA and have allowed access to the collection (Pooled Desktop) via the RDWA server. All of the connections come from Windows 8.1 to windows 8.1 stations in the pool. UPD's are configured and
hosted on a share on a secondary server. Most of the time everything works correctly; however, when I do have issues it is one of the following 3.
    1. The user logs in and gets a temporary profile. The cause is that the UPD is locked from the last log on. There is no way to remove the lock without restarting the UPD server; however, this causes every now log on to get a temp profile until the server
    is back on line.
    2. The user logs into the system and instead of the desktop are presented with a black screen and a mouse pointer. I found a reference to this being linked to the loading of the UPD as well but I have not been able to prove this yet. (http://jjstellato.blogspot.ca/2014/06/are-you-thinking-of-using-user-profile.html)
    3. The last issue is when a user clicks the collection icon on the RDWA page it starts to load the rdp connection and it gets stuck at securing connection. It will just sit a securing connection forever. I am using a wildcard certificate for this setup that
    we have purchased.
All of these issue are intermittent and usually hard to reproduce on a consistent basis, so if anyone has any ideas on any of these please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Scott

    Hi Scott,
For temporary profile issue you can delete the registry key once and then check the result as per bow article.
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
ProfileImagePath: Find specified user name and delete it and restart to verify the result.
RDS 2012: Profile Disks and Temp Profiles
As you have purchase wildcard certificate, but please check that the certificate is placed under local computer/Personal store folder and also place under “Trusted root certificate” check the box “Allow the Certificate to be added to the Trusted Root Certification
Authorities store on the destination computers. Please go through this article for certificate related case.
    - Configuring RDS 2012 Certificates and SSO
    - Certificate Requirements for Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 2012 Remote Desktop Services

  • What is causing my stalled UPD processes?

We have been experiencing an occasional situation where all of our UPD processes go to sleep for long periods of time creating rather horrible response time for the end-users.  SM13 UPDATE RECORDS shows a growing list of items waiting for those UPD processes to free up.
What can I be looking at while the UPD processes are sleeping to determine the root cause?
    Thanks everyone.
    Crew

This issue (locked UPD processes) did occur again recently.  I had out basis guy check ST04 for exclusive lock waits but found none.  We do know that rolling one specific application server causes the UPD queue to release but we still don't know why.
"... you might want to investigate the dev_w* files in tx. AL11"
I was not able to find the dev_w* file in AL11.  I see the directories but don't know where the dev_w* files live.  If you could clue me in I will check that the next time around.
    Thanks.
