HP w17e Monitor-Camera?

I have a HP w17e monitor attached to a Mac-Mini (mid 2007version). Mac Mini is running OSX 10.6.8.
Was a little frustrated Sunday during a web chat (i-Chat) with a relative. I could see him,but he couldn't see me.
Does this monitor have a camera? If so,how would I turn it on?

Here are the specs for your HP Pavilion w17e LCD wide-screen monitor. Based on the specs, it doesn't appear this model has a webcam built-in and you will need to purchase a USB webcam to utilize any web chat features.

HP w17e Monitor dims out

I have a HP w17e monitor. When I turn on the monitor it works fine, then after a couple of seconds (about 5-10) it dims out. I can still see the display but it's so dim that it can't be read. Could that be a sign that the monitor itself is messed up; or could it be easily fixed?

Welcome to the HP Community! I see that your monitor is having a dimming issue. What do you have the monitor connected to a desktop or a laptop? Is it an HP computer as well? If so can I get your product number? If you are using as an external monitor it could be a power plan issue. What operating system are you using?

Is it possible to use a Linksys By Cisco Wireless-G Internet Home Monitoring Camera with Labview

I am somewhat hesitant to say you will be able to use this camera with LabVIEW. It all depends on what functionality you are wanting to utilise on the camera, and how much video you want to analyze.
- If you want to use the wireless functionality, I am concered that the on board web server will compress and embed the video stream. I do not beleive this is something we can access in LabVIEW.
- If you wish to use the ethernet connection, if it is Gigabit Ethernet, then you should be able to use our IMAQ for GigE driver to bring in the feed, but looking at the specs for the camera, I'm not sure that this is an option.
- My other suggestion might be to utilise the record video stream function that the camera has. Depending on the format of the video file, you may be able to read in the recorded file and analyse it in LabVIEW.
If you could explain the purpose of your application, and what you would like to achieve with the system, there may be more suitable products that you can use.

I have a Mac book Air with an external monitor, when using skype the camera on the mac book air works but not the camera on the monitor how do I switch the camera from mac air to monitor

HP w17e Monitor

I got an Compaq Presario SR5210NX and the monitor that came with it is starting to act flakey....When I turn the monitor on the system displays whatever's on there but then turns off. I can see the Windows boot with the line and then it goes to like a shadow....Could it be that the monitor is going?

I am seeing now that your monitor only has a VGA port.
If you have tested another monitor and that one worked fine then the issue might be really related to a faulty monitor.
Just try to swap the power cord and see if you can get access to the menu of the monitor, to try a factory reset. If you can't do that, you might want to test your monitor with another computer, either notebook or an LCD TV and see what happens.
The problem might really be with the LCD and the only thing you can do is to replace it.

I recently purchased a new Mack Pro, the monitor camera is very intermittent, has anyone else had this problem?

I recently purchased a Mac Pro (one month old) since day one I have found that when trying to use Face Time the camera is very intermittant, originally I thought it was a problem with the software, but have since realized that if I place a slight pressure on the right hand corner of the monitor, or wiggle the screen, then the camera will begin working, so has to be a poor connection...has anyone ele experienced this problem?

Call AppleCare: 1-800-275-2273 or if the Apple store is nearby, take it there to have it checked out.

Wireless-G Internet Home Monitoring Camera Utility doesn't have view screen

I'm having problems viewing my wvc54gca in the utility program. I can view it over the web, and I can watch everything in playback. However, the video monitor screen is not only blank/black, it shows whatever is in the window behind it. Meaning if I click over to my camera utility right now I will see this screen I am typing on right now through the area that should be my camera view. Everything else is working correctly as far as I can tell. I've downloaded the firmware. I've searched the forums. Not sure what I'm missing.

When you open the Camear utility,click on the setup button..It will search for your camear,select it and click on "add" and click on save...Now,close the utility and re-open it..

Publis a monitoring camera through TMG 2010

Hi, I have a monitoring IP-camera inside my LAN what I want to publish through TMG 2010 to access from outside. The camera has a build in webserver running (currently) on port 80. Insuide the LAN (no restrictions) everybody who has a login to the cam can
watch. So the cam is working pretty well. Now I created a web publishing rule in TMG 2010 for the Cam but it seems not to be enough. I easily can connect to the log-on screen of the cam, I can log in, but than I get an empty (black) picture(Cam healthy light
on the screen is yellow instead of green, means the video is not working)! No stream is visible. The cam should not use any other (additional) ports, I checked that by using wireshark. What can be the problem that TMG blocks the stream?

WVC80-N Cisco/Linksys Home Monitoring Camera - recording schedule

Hi there. I have 2 questions regarding the camera. First, in the web interface, there is a menu tab for setting the recording schedule. You can select "start recording now" or "define recording schedule". The only problem is that it gives you a starting time and date and an ending time and date. Is there a way to select a schedule such as 8:00-10:00AM every week day? It seems to only allow me 1 range.
I see on the monitoring software there is a client that allows you to set a schedule like that. However, I want to stay away from a client if possible. (one more thing to flake out).
Also, is there a good viewer/organizer for the video files created? It looks like if I just use the camera web interface, it just dumps the files into a directory on the NAS drive that I choose. Does the pc client software import these files?

You could consider using motion detection because it has more range compare to selecting the recording option; but then again the videos will only be sent either through email or ftp server. As for your 2nd query, there is actually no software (from linksys) that could organize or import the videos saved from this camera. Perhaps, there is a third party software will be able to do that.

Monitoring Cameras On One TV

hello there....we run 3 cameras in our church and I wanted to monitor all 3 of them on one tv. I've seen it done in many places. Any leads as to how I would do this? Like what cables to what cables?????

The AV senders will be transmiting on the same channel so they will block each others signal, you might get a signal from one chanel only depending on the environment.
A supplier will not give a cast iron guarantee that equipment will work in a location they have no knowledge of, unless they have provided a contract to undertake the work which will involve site surveys and evaluation, and this will cost extra in addition to the equipment costs.
You will need the vision mixer and three monitors - cabled.

Home monitoring camera video storage time frame.

Hi,
I want to install an outside camera. At night there is some street light.
Does anyone know how long verizon stores the camera's video on their servers? Is the storage cost part of the $10 per month?
Also for outside, how is the nightime situation with the cameras. Is it better to do snapshot or streaming?

It's my understanding that the videos are stored on the Gateway device and not at Verizon.
The outdoor cameras have their own light source night time operations.
Here are examples of one of my outdoor cameras in day & night modes as viewed on my iPhone. The camera is mounted on my shed which is about 40 to 50 feet from the left corner of the house. Snapshot or streaming is about the same.

Monitoring Camera WVC54GCA, a basic question !

Is this camera supposed to be working together with a Linksys router only?
I have a 2WIRE wifi modem from the Telmex telephone company here in Mexico.
The camera works fine in my home network, but only when connected with a LAN cable
to the modem. It doesn't seem to be able to connect wifi, or I am missing something.
I want to use the camera on the internet from a remote place. Is this possible with this modem only?
or do I have to get a Linksys router for this purpose?

Can you view more than 9 cameras at one time using a WVC54GCA cameras? Current software only allows for a max of 9 cameras

With the Linksys Camera Utility you have a Limitation of viewing of only 9 cameras at a time. If you wish to view more then 9 camera then you can try to download the Camera viewing software which will do that work for you. In this case you need to Google around and you will find a Camera software which will solve your purpose.

Huge latency on audio Input Monitoring came outta nowhere!

Hey guys. Bit stumped here..never had latency issues before..
So heres my setup, 8channel mixer into a M-Audio Firewire Audiophile, which is like a DJ interface, but meh, it gets the job done alright.
My project is, Track 1 Superior Drummer, Track 2 - EZPlayerPro, track 3-7 Guitar tracks.
Now it plays back great. But when i try to record, nooo way! The latency is terrible! cant follow the beat! And the part that has me confused is, ive changed nothing! ive added nothing to the channel strips, i dont have any crazy long audio going on here, this is just a scratch track i record ideas on...
Ive played with the buffer a bit, and havent gotten anything but making it worse
Basically i started an idea yesterday, walked away, worked on it throughout, came back today, and its there on not just 1 project, but all of them.
Yes ive tried the reboot, i hoped it was that simple
