HP w1907 Monitor - will not come back after computer goes to sleep

When restoring my computer from sleep mode, the monitor flashes on briefly and then goes off.  It takes multiple times of cycling the power on the monitor before it styays on.  It is currently connected by an analog cable.

Have you tested what happens if you disable power save mode at monitor?

  • E550 will not come back after hibernation/sleeping mode

Thinkpad E550 will not come back after hibernation/sleeping mode. please help. I just bought this garbage laptop about 1 month ago. the big issue is the laptop will not come back after sleeping. I often run some calculation for some hours, the laptop always goes sleeping and wont come back. I had to power off the laptop and re-started it again. All of my calculation results  were gone. Lenovo support is very bad, I already submitted a service ticket 2 weeks ago, but nobody contacted me. Lenovo laptops are garbage. I will not buy it anymore. Anyone can help? thanks a lot!

    HI Clare,
In the Toshiba Power Management utility you should click on the 'advanced' tab and about half way down the resultant window you should see an option for the action to be taken when you close the lid of your SA30.
Make sure that this is set to 'hibernate'. Then go to the power save modes and click on the 'details' tab and then the 'Power Save Mode' tab and make sure that the 'Hibernate' option is set to 'never'.
With these settings your notebook should go into 'hibernate' when you close the lid but not at any other time.
Note that you can set the notebook to hibernate when running on battery when the bttery capacity reaches a pre-set value of your own choosing.

  • MacBook Pro 13" (2011) will not wake up after it goes to sleep.

My new MacBook Pro goes to sleep like normal and then when I try to turn it back on the screen just stays black. I have turned off the put hard drive to sleep button and it is still doing it.

@hinote80:  I ran into a wake problem with my new 17" MacBook Pro (early 2011).  At first, I did the shutdown via the power button and then a restart, but that wasn't something I wanted to keep doing.  I had also tried tapping on various keys on the keyboard but none of them seemed to wake it up (that approach always worked on my nearly 6-year-old PowerBook).  I also tried moving around the Bluetooth Mighty Mouse (that I have paired with the MBP laptop) but that didn't work either.
While searching for another approach, I happened to click once on the mouse and that seemed to wake up the laptop everytime.  So, now I'm doing that.  If you don't have a mouse, maybe just tapping the scrollpad once (as if doing a click) would have the same effect.  worth a try.

The wish list only works on apps you have to pay for. To get it tap the icon of the app you want to save. After it opens at the upper right corner is a box with a arrow. Tap that then tap add to wish list list in the box that opens.

my iphone went black and it will not come back on even after i held the botons down for a min

    Hey dodie67,
Thanks for the question. Sounds like your iPhone stopped responding to buttons, switches, or touchscreen input, so you'd want to go through the troubleshooting steps in the following article and see if that resolves the issue:

  • Tecra M7 - after standby Screen will not come back

On occasion, the screen will turn off as per the power options but will not come back on when the keys are pressed or the mouse is moved. The only way I can get the screen to wake-up is to turn the laptop to tablet mode and back again.
This always wakes the screen up but is annoying to do. This problem is only intermittent and if it occurs at all it is the first time the screen turns off after coming out of hibernate or otherwise turning on.
Is there a fix for this problem?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Not easy to say why it happens.
Does the display turn off automatically or did you set the notebook into standby mode.
Does this happen if the notebook is in the PC mode or tablet PC mode?
If we spoke about standby so as far as I know the notebook will not wake up from standby by moving the mouse. You have to press the power button.
Furthermore you can wake up the display with mouse moves only if the screensaver was on.
However you said that this happens sometimes.
I dont know if it helps but check the Toshiba driver page.
Check the available versions and compare it. Try to upgrade the graphic driver

  • MBP does not come back after hybernation

    Hello everyone,
I am enjoying my MBP except for one problem. It does not come back after it hybernates sometimes.
I hit a key, hear the superdrive do it's "thing" and then after much waiting (approximately over 10 minutes) no picture or video on the screen!
I can tell that it's still powered on because it's plugged in and when I hit the Caps Lock key it lights on and off.
The only way that I can get it out of this state is to hold down the power button, unplug the power cord, take the battery out, hold in the power button for 4 seconds, reinsert the battery and power back on.
I have to then cycle the power back off because the first time it does not come back but I just get the blank white boot screen and no 'apple'.
When I turn it back on the second time, it boots up.
Anyone else have a problem with this?
    Thanks for listening!
    Mark

    Hello Gweedo!
Yeah I have the same issue and am up to date. Apparently this is a pretty huge problem with the Macbook Pro since the last Graphics update after updating to 10.5.2.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1394449
I have been perusing through that topic and hopefully they will come up with a fix for this.
The only work-a-round that I have found (but haven't tested extensively yet) is to disconnect to the wireless, turn off blue tooth, disconnect my external monitor and then go into sleep mode. Then it always comes back. But if I leave it connected to the wireless, bluetooth, and external monitor - it's a crap shoot as to weather or not it will come back up.
This is pretty frustrating because half of using a laptop is being able to hybernate and sleep properly.
I even have the 'smartsleep' installed.
    Thanks for commenting everybody!

  • My iPhone 5 screen is black and will not come back on. The phone still works when paired with my vehicles Bluetooth what's wrong with it, and can I fix it?

My iPhone 5 screen is black and will not come back on. The phone still works when paired with my vehicles Bluetooth what's wrong with it, and can I fix it?

I have a similar problem.  I restored my iPhone 5 to the latest available OS.  After completing the process the phone never restarted.  The phone was fully charged when I restored it but now refuses to charge past the red battery icon.  I have been able to get the phone in UFD mode several times and have been able to load the new OS on the phone.  The Apple logo does come on and the software fully loads.  iTunes tells me the phone will restart but never does.  I left it to charge all night but it never appeared to load the battery.  This morning I went to the Grand Central Terminal apple store for help.  A woman at the store plugged the phone in but it never charged.  She absolutely refused to believe that I got my phone in UFD mode and loaded any software on.  I don't think it is a battery issue.  The only solution I was given was to buy a new phone.  Repairing it was out of the question.  At this point the phone is completely useless.  Thanks in advance for the help.

  • My 6th gen. nano will not come back on, Whats wrong.

My 6th gen. nano will not come back on, Whats wrong? I tried to turn it on, and putting on my charger and It won't respond in any way.

I've just had mine returned from Apple unrepaired after sending it off with the same problem after 6 months.
Apparently there was liquid damage so they won't repair it!
This was news to me, as I have looked after my iPod and it has never been near any liquids. The only thing I can think of is that it was caused by humidity due to jogging with it, which is an activity targeted by this product. So that's £130 down the drain!
If you search nano and humidity/jogging/sweating etc on here you will find hundreds of similar complaints. As far as I'm concerned the 6th Gen Nano is not fit for purpose.
It's the last Apple product I will ever buy.

  • My ipod touch locks up and when i reset it it will not come back on.

my ipod touch locks up and when i reset it it will not come back on. when i plug it to my computer it wont come back on. it does this often and after a couple of days it will finally turn back on.

Have you tried restoring the iPod via itunes on your computer? First restore from backup and if problem persists restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • My iPhone would just randomly give me a blue screen and then restart--did that a bunch of times between Tuesday and last night. As of last night, it WILL NOT come back on. iTunes says it's in recovery mode....what does all of this mean???

Tuesday night I was texting a friend and when I went to open her message, my screen went blue and restarted. I just wrote it off as weird and went on about my business. Later that night, I tried to turn on my phone and it would not turn on. I plugged it up, held down the power button, and pressed the home button all numerous times. I looked online and it said to do a "hard reset" by holding down the power and home button at the same time--my phone then came on. Throughout Wednesday, it would give me a blue screen and restart--nothing major just really annoying. I took it to the local Verizon store where I bought the phone from and he said that it was some type of hardware defect and I was still under my year warranty so I could get a new one for free--the free phone won't be here until tomorrow, Saturday. I took it home and it didn't give me any trouble for a couple of hours. The next day it was cooperating and then I left town for a little while and it acted up (blue screen and then restarting) a few times. When I got home, it acted up again and so I restarted the phone and it was working fine. A few minutes later, I tried to check my messages and the phone was off again. No matter what I do, my phone will not come back to life. It had at least 45% battery last time I looked at it. I decided to plug the phone up to my computer and see what it did--my computer recognizes that there is a phone hooked to it and it says that it's in "recovery mode". It also said that if I'm having issues with my phone, that I need to reset the phone via iTunes. I guess the questions that arise are
    1. Why is my phone doing this?
    2. If I reset my phone, will it go back to working again? I ask that because I don't want Verizon to charge me $300 when they send me the replacement phone and I won't need it (assuming that the phone decides to work once it's been reset).
    3. What type of hardware defect is this that is causing this issue, not only with my iPhone 5S but others as well?
    4. Shouldn't people be notifying Apple and letting them know that they need to fix this issue?
    5. Should I report this issue to Apple even though I didn't buy the phone directly from them, but through Verizon?
Any help that anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated! This whole situation has me stressed out and seriously confused.
