Hi,
When I start my computer my monitor says VGA imput: NO SIGNAL or something and after goes to sleep. I dont know my computer specs, but when I connect my monitor with my laptop the monitor works can someone tell how to fix it. My PC uses windows vista and laptop windows 7.

Firstly the monior ONLY has VGA connection:
VGA 15-pin D-type connector
How do you connect it to your computer ? It does not have USB port how do you connect USB with blue light to the monitor ?

Connecting HP w1907v Monitor speakers to HP Pavilion a6430.uk

I cannot get the correct speaker connection from the monitor to the tower and therefore have no sound available to me.
Can anybody help, please?

1) What video cable are you using from the computer to the monitor?
If it's an HDMI cable then the sound should go through that cable.
In this case there's no need to have the green audio cable from lcd to monitor connected, only the HDMI (black).
If the HDMI cable is used then make sure that the "Realtek HDMI output" is the default playback device.
You can check this by rightclicking on the white speakers on the bottom right corner of your screen next to the time and select Playback Devices.
Make sure the the Realtek HDMI output has a green checkmark. If it does then it should be fine, but if it doesn't, rightclick on it and select "set as default device".
Be sure to disconnect the audio cabel with the green color at the end from the lcd if you're going to the HDMI cable.
2) If you're using a VGA (blue)or DVI (white) cable for video then you must plug in the thin audio cable that came with your monitor to get sound.
The cable is green at one or both ends and goes in the back of the lcd and in the back of the computer in the round "doughnut shaped" color coated port. That's for front audio out.
It won't work in any of the other ports.
NOTE: You can also connect the audio cable to the front of the pc in the headphone jack instead if you want.
If the green audio cable is used then you have to make sure that"Speakers" is the default playback device in the sound options.

HP w1907v monitor menu

I'm having problems with screen displays; probably the video card is the cause but I want to eliminate the monitor before I start pulling the computor apart. My question; the monitor has it's own dedicated menu accessed by buttons along the bottom of the screen. At the moment I can't get that menu to display, is this dedicated menu dependent on the video card in the tower or does it have it's own drivers installed in the monitor hardware. I've had no problems with the monitor previously but do need to eliminate from my list of possible faults. If anyone who has a similar monitor will try bringing up the menu with the computor switched I will be grateful. Ron

I understand you are having problems with your display and are trying to rule out the monitor. The bottons on the monitor itself are dependant on your monitor being connected to a computer. To properly test your monitor if you are trying to rule it out simply connect it to another computer and see if it works properly.

Audio noise when using VGA firewire

I am using a MBP 2010, purchased in August. I am running ProTools and AbletonLive out to speakers through firewire via M-Audio Firewire 410 and/or through the Digi002 Mixer. I have an external firewire hard drive that I have turned off during this problem, so it has not effect.
Additionally, I have an extra monitor connected via VGA to a miniDisplayPort>VGA connector. When I plug this into the MBP I receive a lot of unwanted noise out of the speakers. I have tried to unplug the power source to the MBP and the problem continues. I have the option of trying a miniDisplayPort>DVI connector to the extra monitor, however I have to purchase that connector.
Has anyone encountered this problem? Any suggestions on how to remedy it? It is really difficult to do any audio work with the awful noise in the speakers, and while I can do with just the MBP monitor, it is nice to have a second monitor.

I have been dealing with this exact problem for years!
The noise is now doing my head in and I'd love to get it fixed.
Another thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1807161?start=0&tstart=0 suggested using a ground loop isolator. However, they were dealing with RCA connectors.
I am using a Fast Track MAudio Ultra 8r, with my Mac Book.
So I'm sure I could isolate the noise between the speaker and the sound card - but I would need to use XLR or TRS, which the thread also warns against using such a device.
(I used to own a Berhinger hum destroyer.
It worked a little, but not only did it seem make the signal sound thin, it also had Berhinger written on it.)
Both my HP w1907v display and my MAudio card are plugged into the same power supply.
(As are you, I'm converting mac minidisplay port to VGA.)
I'm starting to think it might have something to do with the cheap monitor.
What kind of monitor are you using?
Is it sharing the power source with the Digi 002?
Does the noise you hear also get affected by mouse movement?
Maybe you've found a solution already!?

Installed PSE 8 and am now unable to access RAW files through Camera Raw.

Firstly thanks to the people who
offered help. This is what I did and somehow the problem is solved. I installed PSE 8 on my old machine with XP and an old Xerox monitor and it worked OK. I uninstalled PSE 8 from the newer machine on Vista. Made sure all the adobe files for pug-ins had gone then reinstalled. I then tested the screen resolution of my monitor a HP w1907v, smaller resolutions made no difference but opening it up to max did. When I wish to open a RAW file click open click the photograph and in the bottom file format box make sure you are asking for RAW files to be opened and 'bingo'. This upgrade for PSE 8 has the latest CameraRaw on it but the problem was there from the first installation so perhaps it is a combination of screen resolution and making sure the file format for opening is specified. So after hours of effort a satisfactory outcome. I probably confused the issue by installing the plug-in when there was no need. PSE 8 will last me a long time!!!

Cannot Update HP TOTAL CARE SETUP

Hi there, A little while ago I was reccommended to upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate by one of my friends.
I have had my computer for some time and I would like to Upgrade it a bit.
I was told to use Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to make sure I was compatible before switching.
I scanned to see if my computer was compatible and It was except for one negative point. I had to update my HP Total Care Setup.
It had a link which could update it but when I went there it only showed me the Microsoft front page.
There is no way I can update and I have been trying to find an answer ALL morning.

No more 1440x900 resolution after Lion on 15" models?

Although I've been using Apple computers since the Apple II, this is my first post. I'm currently using my second MBP 15", which I love. I updated to OSX Lion last week, and am enjoying that as well. However, I have noticed something very odd: The highest resolution I can select for the built-in LCD is now 1280x800, rather than the 1440x900 I've been used to for over four years.
I've rebooted many times to no avail, and can not find any posts on any message board about this. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be going on? It's extremely annoying to work in the lower resolution after using the higher one for so long, and would hate to have to roll back Lion.

I've got the same problem. If you look at the display's settings you'll probablly see that Lion can't identify the monitor. In my case, instead of HP w1907v it simply says 'VGA/SVGA Display'. For me this happened after reconnecting the display post-upgrade
I don't know what manufacturer your monitor is made by, but HP don't do Mac drivers for my model so I'm essentially stuck with 1280x960. I've tried resetting PRAM and forcing the native 1440x900 with SwitchResX but no cigar.
Anyone gots any ideas?
