HP WarrantyChecker in HP Solution Assistant Resources.

Can a person completely uninstall HP Solution Assistant and its Resouces to reinstall with a fresh install as
HP WarrantyChecker in HP Solution Assistant Resources could not be started as it has issues with .NET Framework 3.5?
Any help out there?

Please post the HP product number and operating system for your PC so that the members of the community can better assist you with your questions and issues.
.Net framework 3.5 has been a can of worms from the start and not just on HP PCs. It's optional on Windows 8 and needs to be installed though the Windows 8 add features if you are running Windows 8.

In spite of Assembly Deployment being GlobalAssembly Cache solution contains resources scoped for web application

As per below snapshot of my SharePoint solution properties, my Assembly Deployment is GlobalAssembly Cache.
My solutions contains two features
1. Timer Job Feature - Scoped at Web Application Level
2. List Item Event Receiver - Scoped at Site Level
While deploying the solution I am asked to give Web Application Url and as per below snapshot it also contains Web Application Scoped resource.
What I am not able to figure out is why it shows in 'Contains Web Application Resource' as 'Yes' in spite of my
Assembly Deployment being GlobalAssembly Cache?
Secondly, when i deploy my solution, I find my webapplication level feature missing in UI. However the feature is installed and i find it to be visible when i check through powershell script.

If you're getting a Null Value error anywhere, that means a variable you're referencing isn't set to anything. If you're getting that try echoing out each variable after it's assigned to see if it's set to anything.
The link you are referring is for SharePoint 2010 and verified on Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2008, but not Windows Server 2012.
The approach in this case includes the following per the blog:
Check to see if a web application with the current specified URL is already in use – exit if it is
Check to see if an application pool with the name already exists. If so use it, otherwise create one
Create a web application based on the parameters specified
Assign the object cache properties to the new web application
Create policies for the object cache users to the web application
To simplified the code, we could use powershell below to check if web application and application pool have been already in use ahead. And skip the last two steps in the first time.

What can Solution Manager 7.0 provide for PI 7.1?

I work with PI 7.1 EHP 1 and have been asked to determine if time/resource should be invested to setup Solution Manager 7.0 EHP 1 to provide monitoring/management of PI. I attended SAP TechEd 2011, and there was a lot of discussion that SM 7.1 would be a significant part of monitoring for PI 7.3. However, since I'm not on those platforms, can you help me understand what SM 7.0 can provide me as a PI Administrator/Support over what I use now (Runtime Workbench & SXMB_MONI)?
The Solution Manager resource on the BASIS team mentioned that SM takes a lot of configuration and I'd have to learn about Business Process Management to make it do anything useful. What I saw at TechEd showed a nice start page that showed data volume, errors, and nice graph. Perhaps that is only for SM 7.1, but it seemed like a nice data view capability.

Solution Manager requires additional steps in order to be able to configure this monitoring scenario. Once your solution manager is installed and running you have to perform initial configuration -> basic configuration -> managed system configuration
In the last step you'll actually configure diagnostics and willy for your PI system.
If the number of managed systems that you have to connect is small this "3 step" configuration can be done in a couple of weeks.

If you manually create discrete jobs the system does not normally check constraints. The standard planning engine is infinite capacity. If you want to check for resource constraints during planning (finite capacity) you need to use Advanced Planning and Sceduling.

Video Surveillance Solution

Hi,
I would like to have a video surveillance solution assistance for quoting a project. As per the client requirement, I have already selected the camera to use. There are going to have 8 cameras, with model VC220, VC240 and PVC300. However, the client is insisting on having those "Navigating and Zooming Joystick" for monitoring purposes. I have been going through Cisco solutions for that "joystick" and check its datasheet but I could not found it. Grateful if someone can help. Its quite urgent.

JavaMail Resources

I have no idea on how to make this so this is my question to you? How do i setup my JavaMail Resources in Glassfish? There are a resource file on the server already that is called mail/MyMailSession. If i understand this right i need to setup a JavaMail Resource in Glassfish but i have no idea how to make this. My friend sent me the text below but i don't really understand this so i wonder if there is somebody out there who could help/guide me thru this issue? I have GlassFish Tools Bundle For Eclipse Version: 1.2 Based on Eclipse build id: M20090917-0800 installed on my Mac.

Cannot Configure JavaMail Resources Description
You cannot configure JavaMail resources using the Administration Console.
Solution
JavaMail resources are not supported by Enterprise Server v3 Prelude. The mail.jar and activation.jar files are bundled so that you can create and use mail sessions. However, you cannot obtain mail sessions from a predefined XML resource.

Get the final version of GlassFish v3, including the Eclipse plugin, which removes all these limitations.
Then you can create a JavaMail resource using the admin console or GUI, and reference it in your
application using the normal Java EE techniques.

Scanner Actions & Printer Preference sections missing from Solutions Center

I have just bought a Photosmart 6510 e All-in-one. I had no problem setting it up on my laptop and easily set it up on an old desktop PC. However I noticed in the HP Solutions Centre on the laptop that two sections are missing from this - 'Scanner Actions' and 'Printer Preferences'. The only sections appearing on the laptop's page are Web connected solutions, Shopping resources, Help & Support and Privacy Disclosures. However the missing sections both appear on my desktop PC's Solutions Center. How can I get them to appear on the laptop's Solutions Center?
The Solutions Center I am referring to is the page that appears when I click on All Programs/ HP/ HP Photosmart 6510 Series/ HP Photosmart 6510 Series or the printer icon.
Desktop PC - Windows 7 Professional (32 Bit)
Laptop - Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit)

To clarify, HP solution center is utilized on prior models. The software title our newest models use when accessing via All Programs/ HP/ HP Photosmart 6510 Series/ HP Photosmart 6510 Series or the printer icon or the desktop icon is simply 'HP software'.
First run the following utility and let me know what results you have

Effects not lasting the length of the slide

I have Blur effects placed on some images in my project. For some reason, the blur effect goes away about 3 tenths of a second before the slide is completed. I've tried lining up the blur effect and the image timing-wise, tried having the effect last longer than the image itself and nothing seems to work. I don't have any active or inactive buttons going on in the slide either. Just seems to do this with all effects in Captivate 5.5

The image that I am attempting to blur does not appear across multiple slides, there are many different images on different slides that need to be blurred, I just need the blur effect to actually last the whole length of the slide, not go into the next slide

Loading file from jar in webstart 1.5.0_16

We have recently updated form 1.5.0_15 to 1.5.0_16. Since the update, our application is bombing when it attempts to read an xml file from a jar in cache.

Clearly the path to the jar file is incorrect.
The url is retrieved like this:

We are having huge problems fixing this, and have spent quite a while searching the forums for info about it. The closest I've got is two posts where you mention that there are other posts. I can't find them.... Bloody annoying that Sun hasn't updated the webstart FAQ to tell people how to get around this very annoying problem.
By the way, if you google 1.5.0_16, your post comes up as the second hit.
Any pointers to threads that offer solutions to resource loading from Jars (images, auth.conf etc) when using webstart, now that it's broken in 1.5.0_16??

Yes I realize that the JSERV is pointing in the incorrect are
the J drive is a flashdrive
In the Registry I have just deleted the 2nd Orahome directory which was on the J drive
so all I have now left is the Orahome directory on the C drive

How to use an HTML file with Parameters to make an audioClip

HI guys,
I am still working on getting simple sound to work in my program! I have learned that I can use Java.Applet's soundClip object, even when not using an Applet, but I do not know how to work with the URL object. Here is a SCCE so you can see where I am at!
The Java Class:

Move Group in Application Defenition Editor

Hi,
I'm busy with a little PoC and I try to change the sequence of my screens/Groups via the Application Definition Editor (JHeadstart_10131_26) I encountered two problems, however moving Groups normally did not cause any problems before! My problem was reproducible and might be due to the significant number of Foreign Key relations in the database?
Problem 1:
Generated a First-Cut application and all menu (Tabs) navigations worked fine. Navigations did NOT work correctly anymore for the (new) first Group, up to the previous first Group (!) after moving the First Group below any other Group.
Problem 2:
The 'Tabname' properties of the affected Groups did not correlate anymore with the Displayed names. So, wrong screen where displayed when a Tab was selected.
Solution:
-     Moved all Groups to the desired position, except the first Group;
-     Regenerated the application and faced again problems with Tabname properties. Changed ALL ‘Tabnames‘ in the Application Definition Editor (had to be done anyway), applied changes and regenerated the application;
-     Everything looked/functioned normal. Moved first Group down, regenerated and tested. No errors…
I did NOT encounter this problem/behaviour before with any “How to” example or other little application. Please explain this behaviour and it’s no problem to mail my application if your Team would like to reproduce it.

I’ll try if this problem occurs when I generate a First-Cut application based on the HR schema, but I used this version of JHeadstart and JDeveloper for several ‘how to’ instructions, also using HR… However I easily managed to find a solution for all oddities, I did have two other strange problems:
·     Resource Bundles where emptied when they where opened in the editor and the Jheadstart Generator did not stop anymore (waited 10 minutes) It was clear that de Resource Bundles where processed based on de OC4J Server Log. Solution: close Resource Bundles, rebuild View project. I thought this was only relevant in case of Java Classes?!?
·     I could not regenerate my application after adding a Static Domain (reproducible) with EL statement to retrieve Entries from the Bundles. No problems occurred when the first Static Domain was immediately applied to one or more items!
I’ll report the result with HR and my offer that I can send you the case stands. It’s a small data model (< 10 tables) I finished my PoC almost, so these problems are not blocking.

how can I report out non working time for resources?

Otherwise, select Reports | Assignment | Who Does What, edit the Report, and then within the Details Tab, select Calendar under the resource column. It will list each resource's calendar and non working time. See reference
