It's a windows 8.1 problem, it also happen on windows8 and windows server 2012.
Does HP expert have any resolution to fix it?  I want PC works as a Fax machine.

Hi @IT-ant ,
I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publically post ( serial numbers and case details).

sounds more like Bluetooth rather than moue, but w/o knowing w/o posting mac model type/year we... will... not... know... what you have
All computers are personal computers, a PC though is also "non-Apple" in common usage.
Mac also is platform and OS.
Very confused reading what you are trying to tell us.

    Hi Eli,
Can you try setting the outlook as Default email client. Here are the steps to achieve this -
    Start Internet Explorer.
Select Tools | Internet Options from the menu.
    Go to the Programs tab.
Make sure Microsoft Office Outlook or Microsoft Outlook is selected under E-mail.
    Click OK.
Now please see if you face any issue using Outlook in PSE.
    Thanks,

  • Satellite L650-12Q - Windows 7 recovery procedure doesn't work

    Hello,
I have Windows 7 Home Premium edition (64 Bit) in my Toshiba Satellite laptop (L650-12Q) and after a fresh start the Windows stopped working. I have a recovery disk which didn't load (I ended up with the pointer in a blank screen) and the windows 7 installation disk wouldn't work either (same thing). Safe mode doesn't work either.
This probably means that the partition has a problem am I right? - I have used Ubuntu Live CD which confirmed that c:\ cannot be mounted although d:\ can.
The problem however, is two fold: a) I'm not sure whether aspects of my data are accessible or not (I can't check this) and b) I can't re-install Windows, as the Windows 7 installation process doesn't work.
Any ideas please on what to do next? I would like to access the partition, have searched the internet (even tried with a Windows 98/XP boot disc) but didn't have any luck as the partition is written in a newer way, which isn't detected by them...
    Thank you in advance.

    > I have a recovery disk which didn't load (I ended up with the pointer in a blank screen)...
Do you use it for the first time?
Anyway, try to start recovery disc following these steps:
-Start notebook model and when you see Toshiba welcome screen press F12 several times to enter Boot options
-when the boot menu is shown put recovery disc into optical disc drive
-in menu choose CD/DVD drive and press ENTER
ODD should start reading recovery disc.
What happen when you do this?

  • ITunes 9.2.1.5 for Windows: Sharing / Home Sharing doesn't work

I have a windows XP laptop and sometime within the last two months (after upgrading to 9.x??) sharing and home sharing stopped working.
I have read the troubleshooting post, and everything is configured correctly. It doesn't work at home OR at work (although MAC users at work are having no problems).
Can anyone confirm that this is a BUG in 9.2? Does anyone have any fixes? As I said, my ports are open. Of note: my iPhone remote app works on my home network with our Mac, but not the PC, indicating that the problem isn't the router. I did delete exceptions for iTunes, Bonjour, and ports 3689 TCP, 5353 UDP (which, curiously, allowed my remote to work with my PC itunes, but the remote does NOT show up in the sidebar.
I think this is a bug, beyond the software firewall issues.
Any help anyone can give me will be met with plaudits and wreaths of laurels.
    Thanks

  • Custom Windows 8.1 .WIM doesn't work via WDS, works OK manually

    Hello,
I have a very peculiar situation; I've created a custom Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64 image, but when I deploy it using Windows Deployment Services on Windows Server 2012 R2, using the Windows 8.1 Enterprise x86 boot.wim as the Windows Deployment
    Services boot image, it deploys successfully, but malfunctions;
it doesn't activate [against our KMS server]
when a new user logs on, the process stalls; if you logoff then logon, Microsoft Office gives you a 1603 error.
File Explorer [I think] doesn't work (apologies for vagueness; I absolutely
wasn't expecting this and was somewhat floored by the symptoms)
HOWEVER, if I manually deploy the SAME .WIM image, copy in the
SAME unattend.xml, and manually replace %MACHINEDOMAIN% and %MACHINENAME% with the right values, it works fine.
HOWEVER, I've already verified that Windows Deployment Services is working perfectly well because I've added the Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64 install.wim as an install image, and used the unattend.xml to automate it.  In other words, with the
install.wim from the .ISO, everything is working fine, but with a custom image, it malfunctions.
I don't know why it's malfunctioning; nothing looking like a root cause appears in any event logs. I have injected some drivers into my custom image, but these are for relatively obscure devices such as scanners and smart card readers, which
aren't even on the computer I'm testing this on.  The test computer would benefit from
chipset, video and network drivers, but the inbox ones work OK.  In any event, they work fine when I manually deploy.
Have more-or-less replicated this on test machines that are virtual, desktop and laptop, so I have no reason to believe the target device is a factor.
For now, Windows Deployment Services doesn't have a client unattend file.
This is a very peculiar problem. My existing, production environment has
Windows 7 Enterprise in a custom image
    Windows Server 2008 R2
    Windows Deployment Services
working perfectly, and was looking to maintain the same approach, but simply update it.
    Would welcome your ideas.
    Kind regards,
    Anwar

    Hi,
For this issue,I think it is related to the custom image.
I suggest we don't add any drivers to the custom image to test it.
Meanwhile,I  suggest you upload following logs here for further research. SkyDrive or similar network sharing would be better to use to share your files.

  • Upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1, sound doesn't work, reinstalled driver, still not working

I have an HP Envy dv6, Product number: B6C68AV.
I had Windows 8 Pro 64-bit running on it just fine. Last month I upgraded to Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit and my sound doesn't work anymore. If I go through the "Find and fix audio playback problems" winzard in Windows most of the time it will fix the problem, but I have to do that every time I reboot or wake the laptop up from sleep. When the fix works, it says it made my sound device the default and that fixed the problem.
So then I think I just need to set my IDT device to be the default, but when I go to manage my sound devices it says there are no audio devices installed, so there's no way to set one of them as my default.
I downloaded the IDT Audio driver at

  • Airport Express/Windows XP - Tried everything, doesn't work

I'm trying to connect my windows XP machine to my airport express network. I've tried all the suggestions in http://tech.ifelix.net/2002.html and it still doesn't work. I can see my network but when I click on it, it tries to connect for about 30 seconds and then just gives up. I'm using a WPA password format, mostly because I couldn't figure out the WEP conversion. Settings include:
Association: correct network name shows, Network Authentication: WPA-PSK (I've tried just WPA, same issue), data encryption: TKIP (tried AES, same issue).
Authentication: Nothing checked, entire window greyed out
I'm kind of at the end of my rope at this point. The PC connects to wireless networks outside of my house so I know it works, just not with my Airport Express. I also installed the AE software and it doesn't even detect my base station. When I click on AE Assistant, I get an error message that says "The AE Assistant found that Windows is not allowed to manage wireless networks on this computer. This can be as a result of having a 3rd party utility that manages wireless networks. For best results please allow Windows to manage wireless networks." What does this mean?
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

That message you received "The AE Assistant found that Windows is not allowed to manage wireless networks on this computer. This can be as a result of having a 3rd party utility that manages wireless networks. For best results please allow Windows to manage wireless networks" usually means theres another software program managing how your pc connects to wireless networks. For instance with each copy of Windows XP theres a built in wireless utility called Windows Zero Config or WZC. This is a really basic interface that simply shows the signal and what networks are with in range of your computer. When you purchase another wireless card or if your computer/laptop comes with wireless network card sometimes the manufacter will create a custom utility for it providing you extra features. For example my HP laptop has a netgear wireless card and the netgear software provides more information of wireless networks in range of you and more customizable settings for the wireless connection where as WZC does not.
You usually can turn this off in the 3rd party utility or by right clicking on wireless icon in the lower right hand corner of the screen (usually a computer monitor icon with waves coming off of it) and choose the option view available wireless networks. There you would see a star icon that says manage wireless network settings if i remember (been awhile since ive looked at it) and from there you should see a check box that says allow windows to manage wireless networks. This once checked will allow the airport express software to manage wireless settings.
After this is done you could try hard resetting your AEX and reconfigure it from the pc computer and insure your able to connect to it wirelessly. Then once thats done just connect the other computers to it.

  • Windows Apps Store Installed doesn't works.

I have Windows 8.1 pro. Whenver a new app is installed in the windows apps store. It just shows up and then minimizes. I just checked my eventviewer(eventwvr), saw this error under windows logs-application-"Activation of app VideoLAN.VLCforWindows8_paz6r1rewnh0a!App
failed with error: No such interface supported See the Microsoft-Windows-TWinUI/Operational log for additional information.". Don't know what to do. Please help me.

    Hi harishn007,
According to the result of AppsDiagnostic.diagcab, there might be an issue related to the “Windows store cache’’.
You could open Command Prompt and Run “DISM / Online / Cleanup-image / RestoreHealth” Command to check component Integrity.
If component Integrity is fine and it still doesn’t work, I recommend resetting your Windows store cache.
Please search and run wsreset.exe in Windows Charm bar to reset Windows store cache. It will Clear & Reset Windows Store Cache in Windows 8 / 8.1.
Or you could reset your cache manually:
Open’’ C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Packages\WinStore_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState’’ and rename ’’Cache’’ folder to “Cacheold”
and create a new “Cache” folder.
And also it might be caused by corrupted register information or user profile.
I recommend you run following commands as administrator to re-register apps:
powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register  'C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\<App full name>\AppxManifest.xml'
You could find the App full name information in ‘’C:\Users\<username> \AppData\Local\Packages’’. E.g.,” Microsoft.BingMaps_8wekyb3d8bbwe”
    Let’s see what happens.
Also, considering that the corrupted user profile will cause this issue, please test in new user account to see if it can work fine.

  • G510 Windows 7 WLAN driver doesn't work

My G510 came with Windows 8.1 pre-installed. I didn't want that, so I installed Windows 7 instead. After that, I downloaded this driver (WLAN Driver (Atheros, Broadcom, Realtek) for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit) - Lenovo G410, G510) using a different computer. I copied the driver to a USB thumb drive. Then I installed the driver on the G510.
The driver installed without any errors. However, I still can't enable the wireless adapter. Device manager shows missing drivers for several components (as expected) under "Other devices" but I am not sure which one is the wireless adapter:
BCM43142A0 (I believe this is the bluetooth adapter)
    Ethernet Controller
    Network Controller
    PCI Simple Communications Controller
    SM Bus Controller
    Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller
    Unknown device
    USB2.0-CRW
Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections shows no network adapters at all, but Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features shows Lenovo_Wireless_Driver is installed.
When the installer runs, it copies the files from the "C:\drivers\WLAN Driver (Atheros, Broadcom, Realtek)\Broadcom\6.30.233.75\Driver\Win8" directory to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Lenovo\Lenovo_Wireless_Driver\Win8" directory. I believe the problem may be that this is in fact a driver for Windows 8 and not for Windows 7 as indicated.
I thought at first I may have just downloaded the wrong driver (I was careful to select the right one), but after downloading it again, I confirmed that I have the correct installer with the file name wlan125w7u1.exe.
I've tried re-installing the driver several times as an administrator, rebooting before and after each install. I've also tried Fn+F5 and Fn+F7, which does nothing.
Edit: I almost forgot the best part. I called Lenovo technical support last night, who told me I must contact premium technical support in the morning (they were closed at the time). But premium technical support refuses to help me with this problem unless I am willing to pay $59, or $170 for a one-year support subscription, as they consider it a software support issue.

    hi FoulSynthesis,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
Your issue might be similar to this thread.
If you have the Broadcom 43142 Wireless LAN Adapter (BCM43142) with the following Hardware ID then you may wanna check the driver below:
    Hardware ID:
    USB\VID_04F2&PID_B3BB&REV_1152&MI_00
    USB\VID_04F2&PID_B3BB&MI_00
    Driver:
Broadcom BCM43142 Wireless LAN Driver (802.11b/g/n)
    h0wg01ww.exe
    10.6 MB
If the driver above doesn't work for you, kindly follow this guide on how to find  the hardware ID of the Wi-Fi card (it's the one labelled Network Controller underDevice Manager > Other Devices) to correctly identify the appropriate Windows 7 driver.

  • Can't set up windows on bootcamp, keyboard doesn't work

okay, i wait through the agony of the windows install non-sense, and it comes up to the part where i have to set up windows (name, accounts, etc.). But when i go to enter all my info, my keyboard doesn't work, or my mouse for that matter. I have a 24" iMac with the wireless keyboard and mouse. I don't know what to do!

    Jay:
Below is excerpt I took from [HERE|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1461] which mandates using an internal keyboard or a USB keyboard/mouse to install Windows via boot camp.
    Requirements
To use Boot Camp, you need:
    1. *An Intel-based Macintosh computer with a built-in or USB keyboard and a built-in trackpad or USB mouse.*
    2. Mac OS X 10.5 or later
    3. The latest firmware updates available for your Intel-based Mac.
    4. At least 10 GB of free space on your startup disk (single partition).
    5. A full, single-disc version of Windows Vista, Windows XP Home Edition or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later. Boot Camp does not include Windows. You must provide your own properly licensed installation disc.
Important: A Windows XP installation disc must include Service Pack 2 (SP2). You cannot install an earlier version of Windows and upgrade to Windows XP, nor install an earlier version of Windows XP and update it to SP2.
    6. Boot Camp Assistant (find it installed in /Applications/Utilities/ on Leopard).
