HP wireless mouse H1D34AA cursor does not move

My wireless mouse sometimes does not work - ie the cursor does not move although I can click and the light comes on. Batteries have been changed. This seems to happen intermittently. Any ideas? I have looked at devices and properties etc and removed the dongle and replaced it, nothing seems to work. This mouse is about 6 months old! Thanks

  • Wireless mouse pointer which does not move after boot *sometimes*

    Hi,
I have a wireless keyboard/mouse combo from Logitech (MK700 keyboard and MX705 mouse), which uses a USB receiver.
After booting, the mouse pointer sometimes is completely blocked, and I have to reboot to make it work. Sometimes I need to do this twice. I cannot reproduce it and this is not linked to the fact the mouse is active or on sleep mode. This seems to be a race condition, considering it is difficult to reproduce. Once the mouse pointer is working, there is no issue anymore during desktop use.
I compared lsmod when mouse pointer is working or not, and did not see any difference in the loaded modules.
This started to happen maybe 3 months ago. I have had this hardware for two years with no problem in the past. It is not a battery problem either.
    Has anyone an idea?

    Thanks.
Ther is indeed a difference in evedev detection in Xorg logs when mouse is working or not working.

  • Cursor does not move, Cursor does not move

Cursor does not move, can not be controlled by wireless mouse and normal mouse, Are there any solution for this problem? Thank!

in selecting the word, it is very difficult to just place a cursor in the word to make any correction, because it wants to highlight it and it is near impossible to deselect
The standard mouse/text selection action should only select a word when you double-click it. Therefore you should be able to position the cursor within a word by just single-clicking it.
when I do finally get a cursor to appear instead of a highlighted word, the arrow keys don't move the cursor to where I need it
That certainly sounds amiss. I don't think I've ever seen a case where the cursor keys don't move.
So I'm thinking Leopard must have some preference / key preference thing going on?
There is a Keyboard & Mouse preference pane in System Preferences which is clearly the place to start, but off-hand I can't think which options there would cause this kind of setup.

Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
Does the mouse move booted from that partition?
Do you have a USB Mouse to try?

My daughters iPod touch asks for her pass code but when she types it in the cursor does not move or input any characters so,she cannot get into the iPod. This has suddenly happened for no apparent reason, what can we do? Can anyone help please?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Cursor does not move in my Planning application

    Hi, Experts!
I badly need some help with the following issue: I have just created a 9.3.1 classic Planning application and built a simple data entry form in but my up-down-left-right arrow keys do not move my selection from cell to cell in the data form. When I select a writable cell with a mouse and try to enter a data value in it and press Enter, the data value just gets erased and the cursor remains in that same cell. Could anyone help me with what is going on? Thanks!

Are there any javascript errors being produced, you should see in the left hand bottom corner of the browser, I would of thought that be the more likely issue.
I would of suspected something like an implied share but that wipes the cell when you hit save not just when entering data.
Does it happen if you go to via workspace and directly into planning.
If you build a new form with different level0 members do you get the same issue?
    Cheers
    John

  • My cursor does not move to the confirmation box after selecting delete

When selecting 'Delete' for an email for instance, the cursor would then move to the confirmation box but with Firefox 4 this does happen now.

Out of curiosity, are you using 'NoScript' or anything of the like?
This occurrence happened to me on the Google page and I figured out that 'NoScript' was blocking Google therefore not allowing the cursor to activate in the search input field. I simply ''allowed'' Google.com and I had no problem thereafter. Perhaps you have a similar problem.

  • I moved my Mac and am trying to set things up again.  The computer detected the wireless mouse immediately, but does not find the keyboard.  What does "discoverable"  mean?  The keyboard is turned on.  Don't know what  else to do.

I have just moved and am setting up my Mac again.  It immediately found the mouse but cannot seem to find the wireless keyboard.  What does it mean to be discoverable?  The keyboard is on with blinking green light, but the computer can't seem to find it.  What do I do?

What does it mean to be discoverable?
    Open System Preferences > Bluetooth
Make sure On and Discoverable are both selected.

Magic Mouse cursor will not move.  Scroll works. right click works replaced batteries

I'm so sorry but I overlooked your response in the previous post.
    I think you there are two options to try.     One;
Reset the SMC (Systems management control)      https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201295 ....
Two: You may have a problem with interference which could be from a TV set, particularly one of the new smart TVs, anything electronic you've either moved into the room or changed its position.   That could include another mouse or trackpad.
    Again, sorry.
