HP z6/8 Adjustable Rail Rack Kit with HP Pro 4300

I have purchased an HP z6/8 Adjustable Rail Rack Flush Mount Kit to allow my customer to install an HP Pro 4300 SFF PC in to their racking. According the HP's website, the Rack Kit is compatible with this model of PC (http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en/sm/WF06c/A1-329290-64264-3965949-3965949-5294620-5294623.html?d... However, the instruction manual that has come with the Rack Kit bares no resemblance to the HP Pro 4300, and I can't find any instructions on-line.
Does anybody have any experience of how to install this?

Threaded hole rack kit in a square hole four post rack?

Had a bit of confusion when ordering and ended up with the threaded hole rack kit for the XServe, but we have a four post square hole rack. Anyone else done this? Do I need to order a whole new kit? (in the instructions it just looks like one little space is different, but no idea how to get one of those). should we just try anyway?

Most square-hole racks use 'cage nuts' - small inserts that you lock into the square hole to give a threaded back into which you can screw standard rack screws.
All my racks are threaded, so I've only ever ordered threaded rails (the cage nuts drive me nuts (no pun intended) and while square holes may be easier for equipment that's specifically designed for them I don't have enough such equipment to justify the PITA that cage nuts are).
Either way, I don't see why the cage nuts shouldn't work for the XServe Threaded Rail Kit. You should be able to get cage nuts from your rack vendor or here

The dimensional drawings for that specific kit do not seem to be publicly available right now. For the time being I would recommend that you create a service request with the Applications Engineering team at NI to get a copy of those files.

MDS 9120/40 and two postTelco Rack Kits - DO THEY EXIST??

Has anyone out there actually gotten a two post telco rack kit from Cisco for a MDS9120 or MDS9140 switch. It's like trying find Elivs!!!
According to Cisco's documentation (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps5987/products_installation_guide_chapter09186a0080417dd9.html#wp1018712) These switches can be mounted on two post telco racks. We've mounted MDS9509's in two post telco racks because they come with the right racking gear. 9120's and 40's come with 4 post telco rack kits. I've gotten nothing from our Cisco rep ("talk to EMC") or the guy he brought with him the second time he came by to tell us "I don't know." The EMC guys are trying to figure it out but there's no where for them to look. I called 1-800-Cisco blah blah and asked the lady and she told me they don't have "access" to MDS switches in their ordering system (and couldn't find anything about them anyway.) I've got an edge node that's been waiting since mid-april. I know I can get this from racksolutions.com but paying another $300 bucks after we've paid $40,000 for the switches kind of sticks in our craw.

Xserve rack kit won't fit in 6 post rack

We received out G5 xserve today, and i was able to install the Square holed rack kit without any problems.
However... I couldn't fit the xserve trough the middle.
It took a little research, but it seems that apple's square holed rack kit will not in any possible way fit straight into a 6 post rack mounting system because of the thickness of the black bars.
The reason for this can be demonstrated from here :

The " ] " Shaped steel is touching the middle post, and causing the attached rack kit to ever so slightly fold inward.
This in turn would require the xserve to squeeze trough about 2-3 millimeters extra, which, simply put... will not fit.
I'm currently considdering taking a hammer, and simply flattening out the rack kit so that it'd fit properly, however i'm wondering why apple has created the kit to these specifications, and whether anyone else has run into this problem yet.
I guess it's a warning to new users as well, don't get a 6 post rank, get a 4 post one.
The old G4 Xserve with it's rack is much smaller on the sides and fits perfectly
The new G5 one is a "lot" thicker on the sides,, it won't fit without custom modifications to either the kit or the rack itself.

Most recent model, supplied with OSX 10.5 external rack kit.
The previous model we already have installed has the lid attachment (which fits fine).
The model we got today came with the correct attachment kit, and the rack has square holes so that's not the problem.
We got 2 windows servers, and 1 other mac-xserve parked in the rack so far.
Our rack has 6 posts rather than what most images display as using 4 posts. This way it supports a secure and stable environment for full length servers, as well as shorter cases such as a router.
The .pdf is more to show the shape of the kit, we got both servers, and the one I'm talking about is displayed on page 3, which is indeed the intel version as you pointed out.
The issue lies in the shape of the kit, which due to the plates being " ] [ " shaped, rather than " | | " shaped, refuses to fit properly between the 2 center poles of the mounting rack, as it causes these to push slightly inward and thus constraints the Xserve from sliding in neatly.
If you wish i could draw a sketch to show the issue.

Rebel T4i Kit with 18-135mm Lens, STM lens like Amazon?

Amazon has it for the same price, but I noticed it is listed as the STM lens, which is a new lens specifically built for the t4I.
Bestbuy has it listed for the same price, but doesn't list it with STM.
No point in buying the same camera with an older lens from Bestbuy when you can get the same one from Amazon with the new lens.

What is the status on the availability of this product? SKU (SKU: 4839135) is on the website but it states for store pick up only. When you select a store, any store for that matter, it shows as unavailable. it does not state the item is on back order.

Free goods has the following limitations:
- Free goods can only be supported on a 1:1 ratio. This means that an order item can lead to a free goods item. Agreements in the following form are not supported: u2018With material 1, material 2 and material 3 are free of chargeu2018 or u2018If material 1 and material 2 are ordered at the same time, then material 3 is free of chargeu2018.
- Free goods are not supported in combinations with material structures (for example, product selection, BOM, variants with BOM explosion).
- Free goods are only supported for sales orders with document category C (for example, not quotations).
- Free goods are not supported for deliveries without reference to a sales order.
- Free goods cannot be used in make-to-order production, third-party order processing and scheduling agreements.

I love to run, but am unable to due to a back injury. I can however use an elliptical and treadmill for light jogging as therapy.

. I contacted Nike about the shoes and if it would work with other things such as an Elliptical machine, sadly no. I really can't imagine that it is an "impact" sensor. That would blow out extremely fast for an avid runner. It has to be something else.

Camera Connection Kit with a SanDisk CF card reader not working in iOS4

Camera Connection Kit with a SanDisk CF card reader worked great before switch to 4.2.1. Now I get a message:"The connected USB device requires too much power". Again, worked great in OS3. What did Apple change? Same circumstances. The CCK works with the SD card reader, so it is working. Anyone running into this problem? Any answers? I have to use CF cards. As do many people with DSLRs.

I would be very happy for Apple to make a Compact Flash card reader just like the SD connection. Its something I would purchase immediately. Sadly Apple is yet to realise that not everbody uses crappy little point and shoot or entry level DSLR cameras and those that have the high end gear are those who woulld actually use the iPad in the real world for a travelling "light-box".
BTW does Apple ever look at this forum? or is it just a place that they specifically ignore when it comes to faulty programming or products?

Rails not communicating with mysql

So, my job has me writing code for a Rails 3.0 project, and I thought it'd be really nice to be able to code from home, and I took all of the steps I thought were necessary to get Rails working on my iMac. This includes downloading the git repository, downloading MySQL, configuring my database, installing Rails through Terminal via sudo gem install rails, and downloading all of the prerequisites for my environment through sudo bundle install. I'm coming up against a wall, though, when I try to actually get Ruby/Rails to work with MySQL. I've made sure that my database.yml file points to mysql, and tried rake, rails s, and rails generate to see if I have any sort of functionality with my database, but they all bounce back this error message:
dyld: Symbol not found: _mysql_get_client_info
Referenced from: /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/mysql2-0.2.13/lib/mysql2/mysql2.bundle
Expected in: flat namespace
Has anyone else had this problem?

Half Rack exadata with DBFS_DG having normal redundancy ?

My understanding was that the one command installation scripts automatically set the redundancy level for the DBFS_DG diskgroup.I believe I had actually foud this in the onecommand code in gridsteps.pm function CreateASMDiskgroups() . For eighth and quarter racks it is Normal and for half and full it is high. This is to ensure that the critical OCR and vote files are safeguarded to the maximum extent possible. However recently I came across several half rack installations with the DBFS_DG redundancy as normal. Is there any way to override this or does this mean that the grid software was manually reinstalled at some point ?
This is on x2-2 half racks. Appreciate it if anyone know whether there is any way this might have happened through a standard onecommand implementation.

onecommand will create DBFS_DG in normal redundancy every time. If you're on a half or full rack with a high redundancy diskgroup, it will relocate the OCR and voting files to that diskgroup. This happens in the CreateASMDiskgroups step of onecommand.

Specifically, from the table of contents, click on "Compiling and Running Code Samples".
Scroll down and you will find a section on using JDeveloper for EventHandlers which talks about the jar file you must import from the server.

Using JDeveloper for EventHandler Implementations
The Content DB Developer Kit and API Samples package also includes two additional JDeveloper projects for editing and compiling server plug-ins (EventHandler implementations):

These project files have their library paths pre-configured to include the lib/db-devkit-server.jar from the the developer kit package. The projects also require the content.jar file to be present in the lib directory of the developer kit package, so you must copy the $ORACLE_HOME/content/lib/content.jar from the Content DB server into the lib directory of the developer kit package.
There are two deploy files under the jdev directory of the developer kit package:
jdev/server1012/server1012.deploy
jdev/server1013/server1013.deploy
When using the corresponding project in JDevleoper, you can right click on the deploy resource to automatically generate a handlers.jar file. This will contain the compiled sample EventHandler classes. The handlers.jar file is genereated in the jdev/server1012 or jdev/server1013 directory, depending on the version of JDeveloper you are using.
To deploy the developer kit server libraries and EventHandler sample implementations onto the Content DB server, copy the generated handlers.jar file and the lib/cdb-devkit-server.jar from the developer kit package onto the Content DB server. Then expand both jar files into the $ORACLE_HOME/content/custom_classes directory, using the jar -xvf command.
