Hp zr2740w turns off after few seconds

I have the same problem as described in an earlier post:
http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Audio-Video-Monitors/hp-zr2740w-turns-off-after-few-seconds/m-p...
My HP zr2740w turns off after a second or so. Tested with vga/dvi/displayport and desktop pc/laptop, so it's not a cable issue.
My hp zr2740w was bought in July 2012 so it's probably out of warranty. I live in Finland. The webshop I ordered the hp zr2740w does not exist anymore. The HP support pages don't seem to have any support numbers for displays.
I took the display to a local IT support / electrician guy and he said it's a power supply issue. But he couldn't find a place to order the part so he could replace it.
Hopefully I'll get some answer here or an idea what to do. Wouldn't want to throw away an expensive display just because it has power issues.

    >> It is customary and in this case Necessary for you to provide the exact model of Notebook you have a problem-with. [ There are MANY variations of HP Pavilion 15-T Models, for example. ]
    >> You should always be sure you have installed/applied ALL updates for all of your Notebook's hardware devices, and ALL Windows Updates labeled "Important" and ALL "Optional"-section Windows Updates for any hardware device in your Notebook which the Windows Updates service detects (and offers an Update for).

    >> AFTER you are certain you have all the latest drivers and patches in-place, you can try the 'old Trick' as follows: Shutdown Windows; when your Notebook has turned-Off completely (after Shutdown completes), THEN remove the AC Adapter connector and remove the BatteryPack.
    >> Hold DOWN the power-button continuously for a full 62 seconds. Then put your BatteryPack back in your Notebook. Do NOT connect your AC Adapter yet. Power-On the Notebook and Logon into Windows. Check the Control Panel\Power Options settings and find out the Charge Level of your BatteryPack. If it is below 25%, then (and only then) plug in your AC Adapter and connect it to your Notebook... and let the BatteryPack charge up "completely" to 98-100% Level. *Note: if your Adapter has a removable AC cord-connector, be certain that connection is 'tight'. <Do NOT stick your fingers or ANY object into any AC Adapter!> If you even think your AC Adapter is faulty, GET A NEW ONE! >> Use the built-in Help functions of your Notebook to find out how to DISABLE(!) "Hibernation", and eliminate that TROUBLE-CAUSING 'feature' of Windows PCs. When you have done so, always REStart Windows, to be certain the changes are applied. *Many changes and Updates take place 'Fully' only "during" Shutdown and/or "during" Startup of Windows PCs. [While Windows O.S. is "running", most of it's System Files are LOCKED.]
    >> FYI: always let your BatteryPack run down to it's Lower setting BEFORE you plug-in your AC Adapter/Charger. Charging  any rechargeable BatteryPack at  "mid-charge-levels" causes shorter BatteryPack life...

Are you restoring the iPod from a previous back or to factory settings? If you haven't restored to factory settings yet, I would do that next.  And if the problem still continues, it's most likely hardware related, in which case you'll want to schedule an appointment at your local Apple Store/Genius Bar to have them take a look at it.

  • Macbook Pro shuts off after few seconds of gray screen

Help - I came home to discover my power cord had died and my laptop turned off due to no power. I used a friend's power cord to turn it on later that night and send some emails. I bought a new power cord the next day, plugged in, and turned  the laptop on. It stayed on the gray screen with a spinning wheel beneath the apple logo for a while. I restarted it and it turned off after a few seconds of the gray screen. An empty bar flashes twice horizontally at the bottom before the spinning bar begins.
I tried booting in safe mode, but it would just stay on the gray screen. I tried doing shift+command+v and received a message about keys out of order and disk error full, can't repair. I was able to boot from the install disc, and when I click "Repair Disc" I get the same erros. Not sure what to do now?

Would my time machine data be preserved with this?
Well this is the big gamble. You really don't know for sure.
TimeMachine has gotten corrupted from a failing original drive and then unable to restore properly to a new drive.
It's not like you can access the files on a TM drive directly and cherry pick what you need and leave the rest. It's all or nothing.
If you go erasing your only other copy on the boot drive, which the files still could be accessed from another boot drive, and if you find out the TimeMachine drive can't restore, then your up the creek without a paddle right?
So if your able, create a data recovery drive and try to rescue your second copy of the files on the boot drive or restore the TM drive to the second boot drive , so this way your files can be accessed directly if you need it and you have two copies again.
Once you can direclty access your files then you can go about erasing and installing on the internal boot drive.

  • Stuck in recovery mode and turns off after 30 seconds

    Hi everyone,
I have done my research but no one seems to be having the exact same problem that I have. Here's what happened:
When I was updating the firmware of my Ipod Touch 4g iOS to 4.2 in a MacBook Pro, it suddenly cut the USB power because it was low on battery. After which, my Ipod now only goes from the apple logo to recovery mode (connect to itunes screen)then turns off after about 30seconds.
It still gets recognized in iTunes but it doesn't stay powered on long enough for something to be done (restore, iRecovery, etc.). I have tried doing the DFU to recovery mode, holding the home button when connecting the cable, etc.
I have everything backed up so restoring is not an issue. I just need it to work.
    Help!

Not sure if this is the same problem exactly but all of a sudden my phone was stuck in headphone mode & wouldn't make sounds through the speakers at all. This was because of a dirt/dust buildup in the port. What I did was hold the phone & a flashlight in one hand & scraped out the crap with a safety needle/pin thing. This was very useful because I could exactly see where the stuff was & eventually I dug it all out. Works fine now! Hope this helps you/anyone else having a similar problem

  • Satellite C660 turns off after 3 seconds

Got my new laptop yesterday, and while installing windows 7 (not exactly sure how far the install process was) the screen turned a light gray color and started flickering, I tried turning it off by pressing power button for 7 seconds but it wouldnt respond, I had to unplug the charger and take out the battery to turn of the laptop.
Now when I press the power button the power indicator light turns on, cpu fan turns on, and after 3 seconds it shuts down. I've tried turning it on about 100 times now, same result. Taking out the RAM and HD makes no difference.
Waiting for Toshiba support to contact me so I thought I'd try here and see if there was an easy fix.

    Hi
I assume the Toshiba Splash screen does not appear at the beginning and you are not able to access the BIOS too. Right?
It looks like you had a bad luck from my point of view its something wrong with the motherboard.
But dont worry warranty should cover everything so either you could visit your notebook dealer and would ask for replacement (if possible) or you could get in contact with an Toshiba ASP in your country who could fix this.
    Good luck

  • WRT1900AC 5 GHz WiFi LED lights turns off after few days

This is a weird issue. After a few days of flawless working, suddenly the 5 GHz signal LED lights on the router (WRT1900AC) goes off. Clients on 5 GHz are connected fine and everything on router page looks normal. Turning off all activity lights from web interface and turning it back on doesn't restore the 5 GHz signal LED.
Last time it happened - I left the router to run to see how it behaves. It started dropping internet connection speeds to bare minimum after a day. It appeared like throttling and after a while all clients were not able to access router admin page. Then forced a power reset that brought back everything to normal. Now it's gone again after a few days of continuous run. Looks like a pattern that I cannot interpret.
Anything specific that can cause this issue?
Note: Running the latest version of firmware.

Good to hear. I'd go with Linksys. Even though I maybe a "refurb", it's probably been thru testing and should work well. Nothing wrong in getting one from Linksys. At least you'll have a warranty with Linksys after you get the one from Linksys and have a case #.
Let us know how the RMA one works out.
    Cstmkr wrote:
I spoke to Linksys support. After reconfiguring the router and verifying settings again, 30 minutes later the 2.4 light turned off, even though I had a connection. I called them back as instructed, as they suggested an RMA through Linksys, not Amazon. The only downside to that is that I have to pay for shipping the defective router back to Linksys.
I feel a little more comfortable getting my replacement router directly from Linksys. I will update this post in about a week.

  • Rebel T3 keeps shutting off after few seconds of videoing

I purchased a Rebel T3 for my daughter a few months ago.  We are having trouble getting it to video.  It keeps shutting off after a few seconds.  It has a clean class 10 - 32gb card in it.  Help please!  (we have used a couple different cards in it, they all do fine & take excellent photos, just MAJOR problem trying to use the video mode)  I have a T1i & have no trouble with the video on mine.

The manual may state Class 6 as the minimum speed for reliable HD video capture, but that it is most definitely not the fastest card supported by the camera.
The camera is able to take advantage of cards rated for speeds up to 45MB/s which should be at least 2x faster than the fastest Class 10 cards and about 4.5x faster than a Class 10 card operating at minimum spec of 10MB/s.  A Class 10 card is rated for minimum throughput of 10MB/s write speeds. So, it should be between 7-8x faster than a Class 6 card performing at it's specified minimum 6MB/s speed.
So you really need to be looking at the write speed of the SD cards you buy.  But, this assumes that the SD card is the problem which it may not be.

You should try to update the BIOS so check the Toshiba website for an update:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com
Make also sure that you have all updates and Service Packs for Windows installed.
    Visit the Windows Update website.
Maybe the problem is also caused of the firewall or security suite. Update it or change the software.

    @SohaibAfzal
Have you tried connecting an external monitor to your notebook, to see if there is a display?
Since your computer does not automatically shut down again until you press power again, it is possibly the display itself that is the problem.

  • Re: Wi-Fi connection turns off after 10 seconds

    Hi All
    Windows 7 64bit SP1 Canon sx280hs
My problem is when I try to connect to my computer, the camera shuts off after about 10 seconds. The camera shows up in devices and printers, and when I try to connect, it briefly shows up in device manager under portable devices and then disappears.
The camera window program opens briefly, and then I get the message the camera has been disconnected. the software will now close.
I have installed the latest firmware update for the camera, and it shows up in my actiontec router.I can even ping it successfully through the router during the 10 second window it is connected. I can connect my camera to my ipad without any problems.
I have reviewed my firewall and network settings, and everything seems to be in order, unless I am missing something obvious.
Network discovery, UPnP, file and print sharing, etc. have all been enabled.
Any ideas or help would be appreciated.
    Bruce

If anyone is having this problem, it turned out to be Norton 360. As soon as I changed my home network from shared to full trust, the camera connected with out problems.

  • P67A-GD53 turns off after 5 seconds... reboot loop.

So I built my brand new PC and it would only stay on for 5 seconds, then shut off for a few seconds, then repeat.
I've read all over that you need to start taking parts away to see what fixes it. I got it all the way down to the motherboard, PSU, and CPU+fan running on my kitchen table. The mobo has an 'On' button which lets me do this without a case.
I've tried a different PSU with no solution. I also own a laser thermometer and the CPU temp does not go over room temperature. I've also reset the CMOS via the button, and taking out the battery + jumper too.
So it must be the CPU or mobo, right? Am I right in assuming it would be very unlikely the brand new CPU has failed. That would mean the mobo was defective right out of the box, correct?
I've read a lot that this is a common issue with the P67 boards. Would you agree it is the culprit?
    Details:
MSI P67A-GD53 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz

No, no assumptions unless the fact has been proven. Test the CPU on another known working board.
At this point I would say you have an even chance of a defective CPU, PSU or MB. You will need to test them all with known working systems. But before you do that......
Your 4/8pin CPU power plug. Recheck that its properly seated.
Only insert one RAM module in the first slot closest to the CPU.
Do a full CMOS clear and remove the battery whilst doing that. >>Clear CMOS Guide<<
Restart the PC with only one RAM module and report back.
EDIT: btw what RAM are you using?
