HP ZR30w - Max resolution problem

I just received the HP ZR30w monitor but I cannot manage to achieve the maximum resolution. I am using a Computer Sony Vaio VGN-Z51XG/B, with an  NVIDIA geforce 9300M GS graphic card, and  Windows 7 64 bit.I am using a docking station which has a DVI-D output. I installed the monitor driver but I am still getting the standard screen resolution of 1280x800. Does anybody know how can I increase the resolution to 2560x1600? Thanks a lot for your help.

Your first post indicates a docking station.  Is the docking station connected to the monitor or am I misreading this information? Try a monitor reset. Unplug the monitor and hold down the monitor's power button for 30-60 seconds. Plug the monitor back in a power it up. How does it look? I the same issue, then go into the monitor's menu and do a factory reset and then check the input source for DVI.

  • Macbookpro doesn't recognize max resolution of an external display

    hi
    i have a macbook pro 7.1
    i just bought an external display, LG IPS237L-BN 23 inch Full HD IPS LED Widescreen Monitor (250 cd/m2, 1920 x 1080, 5000000:1, D-sub, HDMI)
my mac doesn't seem to recognize the resolution. after some internet research, it seems to be a common problem, except that all i've seen are some solutions via dvi port. My monitor has only 2 hdmi (from what i can tell, i'm no expert), and some "d-sub", whatever that is.
I've had a small mdp adapter, connecting via hdmi-to-hdmi cable to the monitor, but to no success. I thought it may be the prob with the adapter as i've bought it a while back, so i went and got  a mdp-to-hdmi cable (this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00675Q2UY/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8 &psc=1), but again, the max resolution in display preferences is 1600x900, and all is blurred, while my main purpose is photo and video work.
    Any advice?

    Hi
    did you found the solution?
I have MBP 7.1 too, and just bought an LG 22" FullHD monitor, but i got the same problem.
I can set the resolution to 1920x1080 but the screnn on external display is not like fullHD, and its not as colorful as it can be(I tried the monitor with my windows laptop, and the colors and resolution was ok).
I'm using Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter to connect them.
    Help me if you can!
    Many thanks,

  • Resolution problem with Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter

    Hi,
I have a unibody MBP 15', running on 10.5.8. I use 'Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter' (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB570Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDA5OQ&mco=Nzk2MDk5OQ) to connect to my external HP LP3065 30' monitor. I get max resolution of 1280 x 800 for external monitor which supports resolution of 2560 by 1600.
This monitor used to work fine with old MBPs, but not with my unibody MBP. What could be the problem? Adapter or MBP?
    I am missing high resolutions
    Thanks in advance!
    Rohit

You have the wrong adapter. The one you have is single-link DVI, which does not support 30" displays. You need the Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter:

  • Display Resolution problems

I have a 17" MacBook pro with Lion on it as of 3 days ago. Been working fine until I connected my 30" display to it. When I connected it, the display went all wonky. I rebooted, disconnected, many combination of each. Now my MBP will not even display at full resolution when disconnected from the external monitor. Scoured this forum and the internet for similar problems, and while I found multiple issues relating to displays with a Lion upgrade, I did not see any issues specifically with screen resolution.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Capt,
Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately not the solution. I have the two screens in extend mode, and both at max resolution (2560x1600 for the 30" and 1920x1200 for the laptop display).
It seems the computer is having difficulties fitting the screen onto the monitor, like it does when you select a resolution that is too large for your monitor. The entire screen is being rendered, but I have to pan right and down to see the whole thing. When I have the external display connected (as main screen), I can see part of it on the laptop display. So the rendering is working... it just cant display at the correct resolution.

  • Acer AL2032w as an external monitor: Resolution problem

    Hi,
naive as I am I bought the AL2032w widescreen LCD for my new PB and didn't expect any problems since the monitor has exactly the same max. resolution (1680x1050) as the PB LCD itself and as the Apple 20" Cinema Display... well...
Now the monitor settings of OSX identify the display as "Acer MFM DVI" and only offer me strange resolutions like 1600x1200, 1360x768, 1344x1008, etc.
What can I do to get the full 1680x1050?
    Thanks,
    Y.

I am not positive of this but it sounds like you may
have to make a trip to the Monitor Manufactures Web
site and see if they Offer an update to the Firmware
Drivers for this Monitor for your Mac and Operating
    System.
It might also be that the settings that you have
found that are available to your Mac might be all you
have, and the Higher resolution and drivers and
    firmware are for a PC.
    Cheers Don
Well the problem is that the Firmware should be up to date (monitors are brandnew), and drivers are an issue of the graphic card provider, and here ATI refuses any help since it would be Apple's business to do this...
So, I'm still open for suggestions, especially how to tinker with the monitor settings in Tiger, I'd expect the monitor to work if I could make the Mac believe it is an Apple Cinema Display...
    All the best

  • IMac 27" & External monitor ( Benq 241 ) resolution problems

Hi, im using a 27" imac... recently just bought a mini displayport to HDMI cable to hook it up to my 24" Benq 241 monitor.
Im pretty sure ive used this monitor before without a problem on my old macbook.
    The monitors max resolution is : 1920 x 1200
but im only getting the option of :
    1080i
    1080p
    720p
    480i
    480p
    1600 x 900
    1344 x 1008
.... the rest go down in numbers
selecting 1080p gives a fuzzy picture... and 1080i, is what looks liek the highest - but still really pixellated
    any ideas?

You can get one like this

But you can also get an inexpensive one from Monoprice

  • Max resolution the iMac can support

    Hi kids,
I'm using the desktop extender hack with my 800 and 1.25 iMacs. Right now, I'm using 17 inch monitors(1280x1024). What's max resolution these iMacs can drive? I want to upgrade the monitors to 20inch, 22inch, or maybe even 24inches. Anyone have experience with this or know exactly what these video cards can take? Thanks.

Ok. I went ahead and did it. I got a PrincetonVL2018W 20" LCD Monitor. But I'm having Problems. When I first hook it up to my 1.25 G4 iMac, I could only get it to 800x600 resolution. But after a long while of playing with it and trying different resolutions, I finally got it to 1680x1050. It looks great. However, if I turn off the monitor for about 3 minutes and then turn it back on, I have to start the whole long process all over again. I also tried this process on my iBook and got the same results. Does anybody know why this is?

  • Setting higher MAX resolution in CS6: HOW?

    Hi everyone,
I work in an industry where soon our Photoshop TIF files will require super high resolution for our pixel mapping. Though our files are not that big size wise (2x2 inches max), they tend to be between 10,160 and 50,000 DPI, depending on the print format we need to achieve. My question is:
On the current version of CS6, I am not able to import older TIF files with resolutions above 10,000 DPI; they automatically reset to the highest default, 9999.999 DPI. I also am unable to create new files above 9999 DPI. The program says I need to pick an amount between 1 and 9999.999 DPI. We have older machines and versions of CS4/5 that allow us any resolution up to 50,000 DPI, no problem.
Why can't I find any information on how to get my current CS6 version to not only STOP resizing images to 9999.999 DPI, but also how to increase the max resolution allowed? Setting something like this should NOT be this difficult. Did Adobe make CS6 have a high value of 9999? If so, we need to downgrade to an older version because we need this resolution with our newer projects.
Please help me find a setting or way to allow my CS6 to both read and create files at resolutions over 10,000. Thanks.

Might this solution work for you in CS6?
Create a document double the size you need at 5,000 DPI, then reduce by 50% at the end?

I have no idea if this works for you or not.

    LOL !
The best answer I can give you is because that's what Adobe wants.  Period.
"I cannot explain the universe to you, I can only describe it."  That's what my astronomy professor used to say at the ETH just over half a century ago.
My experience in the last three decades is that Adobe will extremely rarely address such a question, if ever.

  • Max Resolution or DPI of still images

    Hi,
This is an offshoot of a problem I thought I was having with Encore CS5 and transcoding, but it is also part of the solution.
I was creating about a 30 min project on Premier CS5 with AVCHD and still images imported with a couple of mp3 music tracks. Win 7, GTX 295, 6MB Ram.
I can do whatever I wanted in premier in terms of any jpeg could be imported, scaled, add motion, zoom, effects, whatever..
When it was time to put it on a blu-ray, it would get send to Encore via the dynamic link and would always fail at seemingly random places during transcode and of course, ultimately crash, or come up with an "object not found" and ultimately never burn.
I tried all the suggestions, taking spaces out of file names, burning to a blu-ray folder, and everthing else I could find in the forums.
I also spent 2.5 hours with Adobe logged into my computer and they could not figure out why:
ENCORE CS4 would transcode and burn the exact same project CS5 would choke on and fail.
I had ignored the suggestion in the forum that Premier can't handle large image files.. After all, they seemed to load and work, I couldn't imagine that transcoding would fail on a still image at 4000X3000 and 300dpi, but wouldn't you know it, I resized all of my images to lower res, and bingo, CS5 churned and burned the blu-ray. I did notice after trying, that if it won't render in the work area of PPro CS5, that it would also fail in the transcoding in Encore CS5, but not CS4. If it didn't like a particular image, it would just freeze the render process and lock PPro CS5 right up.. After several image resizes and lots of reboots, it finally all rendered, and then it was fine in Encore CS5 after that.
So this brings me to my point, and I would love an official answer or guideline from Adobe..
What is the max resolution of still images that can be used in PPro CS5 and consequentally be handled in Encore CS5? What about dpi?
Am I correct to assume that 300dpi is useless in HD? Meaning, even in true HD on a tv screen, isn't it still 72dpi? I couldn't figure out if it was the DPI or the dimensions of the  image it couldn't deal with. It seemed as long as I was around 2500X1500 and under 200 DPI I was ok.. but more than that was definately a show stopper. However, I would also think a 300dpi picture would be sharper and crisper, so this stinks that premier can't seem to deal with a 8-10 megapixel jpeg or image..
I really can't believe it, I really thought Adobe would be ready for todays images from cameras, I mean I think nearly every camera you can put your hands on now shoots 8-10 megapixels which would put you right there in 4000X3000 and 300 dpi, how could Premier Pro CS5 and Encore choke on those? And more amazingly why does Encore CS4 not choke?
    D.J.

    Ann,
Thank you for the link to that article, and it sort of explains the limits, but it doesn't explain why an image off of a camera that was a jpg at 4000X3000 and 300dpi , which is about 10 megapixels and about 5MB in file size choked the transcode process, as it doesn't seem to be anywhere near the limits. As soon as I changed the images to something more like 2500X1200 and 180 dpi or less, everything was fine.
Could it have anything to do with cumulation? For example, I had about 20 of these images set up in a slide show sort of way, and added some motion to them in the effects.. Do you think that matters?
Also, the DPI in relation to video, as I said, it sure does seem that a larger image at 300 dpi offers quite a bit more clarity in the final product than something at a lower DPI..Especially in the case where I want to zoom in on the image or use some motion.. Maybe I'm nuts and a 72dpi 1920X1080 image is all I will ever need, but then in that case, it doesn't leave much room to be able to zoom in or out and move it around.. And if you do zoom in a lower quality image, then the quality will really be seen when it becomes part of the video.. Which is why I wanted to start with higher res stuff in the first place..
    D.J.

  • Mac Mini Max Resolution?;CRT

I just bought a Mac mini and am looking to buy a CRT. What are the max resolutions the mini can support? (VGA analog, not DVI digital)
And, if the mini's supported refresh rate for a given size is say 100Hz and the CRT is only 70 Hz, will it still work?

For DVI it'll go up to 1920x1200. For VGA, probably higher, though I doubt it really matters at that point. For the refresh rate, you can lower it on the Mac, so it shouldn't be a problem.

  • Video capture max resolution 1024x768?

    Hi,
I have a Geforce3 MX460-VTP card, and in the box it says that the video capture resolution can go up to 1024x768, but when I try to capture, tha max resolution with all of the softwares I used is 720x480.
Does the card not deliver what it promisses, or do I have some sort of driver problem?
Althogh I think this is a common problem, I could not find anything similar on the forum archives.
    Thanks.

  • Not recognizing max resolution of 2560x1600- Dell UltraSharp U3011 Monitor

I just got a 30" Dell UltraSharp U3011 monitor. For some reason, my MacBook Pro is not detecting that the maximum resolution should be 2560 x 1600. I'm connecting the monitor to the laptop with a DVI cable and Mini Display Port to DVI adapter which the Apple Store rep said would give me the max resolution and best picture quality.
Any thoughts on what I can do to solve this?

Hello. I can confirm that CrypticGuru is correct. I bought this cable which fixed the problem (same cable he lists, straight from the source):

With this I now get beautiful 2560x1600 resolution on the u3011 and without the annoying audio error message from this other forum, where I cross-posted my experience:

    Hi
As far as i know, v570 has a hd screen and not a full hd screen. The max resolution for hd screen is what you are getting. Are you sure it was more? And what was it? And how did you got to know that? Any symptoms?

hi.today i bought a new computer.i.e assembled.i have a MSI G31M3 motherborad and Samsung SyncMaster 943NWX 19" inch monitor. The box in Samsung SyncMaster 943NWX 19" inch monitor says that it has 1440*900 high resolution.I also know that it must have that much max resolution, thats why i bought this monitor. But the problem is that in desktop->setting.There is not any 1440*900 resolution to select.
First there was resolutions from 800*600 to 2080*XXXi forgot. But there wasn't any 1440*900 resolution to select. Not even in the range of 1440.There was only one 1400 range. Then i installed the driver came with the monitor and now the settings shows only resolution upto 1280*768.
So can anyone tell me whats going on?I search the net for this problem but has no luck.one guy was says to use Powerstrip tool but i have no luck.Though the powerstrip tools shows that my monitor has 1440*900 max resolution in its info section but the resolution doesn't show up in resoultion select range. So i guess my monitor is correct.
My question is that is it due to internal graphics that does support this resolution or something else. Please help me to solve this issue.

thankx a lot "NovJoe".I installed the intel.inf driver provided in the motherboard.I also installed the graphics accelerator/driver came in the CD and also driver downloaded from the intel site. Both look same driver. But no luck. And what do u mean by "intel 945G onboard graphics driver"?I guess  i have intel g31/33 graphic accelerator.do i need to install intel 945G onboard graphics driver as well? I have searched the net but can't find anyone with exact problem. There was one guy with similar problem but there is no solution.

  • Removing Black Bars on iMovie Projects (Aspect Ratio / Resolution Problem)

    Hey folks,
I jusr recently recorded a video using fraps on my PC while playing World of Warcraft. I've transfered this over to my mac to import into iMovie and upon importing the file (using a DV Widescreen profile) there are two black bars on either side of the video.
I believe this is because my monitor is using a different aspect ratio (max resolution is 1680x1050, in otherwords not 16:9 as the profile indicates).
How can I configure iMovie to conform to the aspect ratio of the origional imported video? I know if I import the video and get it edited to the final version I want to encode, there is an option using the Divx codec to remove these bars - But i'd like to keep the video using the H.264/.Mov standards (Divx looks like crap IMO!)
    Any suggestions?
