HP1536dnf Scan problem with Mac OSX 10.7.5

I have just installed the HP online download driver for my Mac computer (running Mac OSX 10.7) and the subject HP 1536dnf MFP; when attempting to operate the HP1536dnf Scan function from my MacBookPro; I get the following message:
192.168.0.6 is currently unavailable. Ensure your device is powered on, check the connection, and ensure your network is   functioning properly. If these conditions are correct, restart the device and try scanning again. I have check the router and Mac configurations without resolving the problem.
My MacBook Pro is connected to a Motorola Wireless Cable Modem & Gigabit Router (model SGB6680) via wireless link and the HP1536dnf is connect via the Motorola Router Lan connection (192.168.0.6) .
NOTE: I am able to print to the HP1536dnf from the Mac, however I am not able to operate the Scan function wirhout getting the above stated message.  This leads me to understand the Mac link to the router and the Lan to the HP1536dnf is  operating correctly.
Please suggest items to check or a Fix for my problem.  Thanks!

Hello Ray1536dnf,
Thanks for the post.  WIth this one, scanning being a more complex process than printing we may have some other issue here.  I might suggest taking a look at the below document specifically solution three, assigning a static IP.  Good Luck!

Somewhere at either Macworld or here I learned that DVDSP 2, DVDSP 3 and now DVDSP 4 "internally" are major re-writes.
Support for HD among a few other items along with QT 7 which comes with Tiger means sincerely that one set of applications/OS is not going to be stable.
Personally I think of all the issues possible its DVDSP vs QT.
Unless you move to DVDSP v4 the alternative is to wipe the disk and go back to Jaguar (10.2) or perhaps Panther but avoid upgrading QT beyond 6. I advocate wiping the disk because I'n not sure an archive and install to down shift to an earlier version of the OS is possible. If it is I'd still worry about mis-matched files in all sorts of locations.

  • Linksys Connect CD/Downloadable Software compatibility problem with Mac OSX 10.4.11

I purchased a Linksys E1200 and I am running Mac OSX 10.4.11. As I have a G4 eMac, I cannot run a higher operating software. The CD that came with the E1200 will not launch the Linksys Connect software, as it is not compatible with Mac OSX 10.4.11. When I download Linksys Connect software from the support section of the Linksys site (version 1 or 2), same problem. I have read that I can use the E1200 with Mac OSX 10.4.11, but how? Getting very frustrated and would appreciate any practical advice/help. Thanks!

    Hi bassist71,
You may actually do the setup manually. It's done by accessing the setup page of the route through 192.168.1.1 and configuring the settings according to your Internet connection type. If you have a Cable connection, you may check this link, http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=0ff4c94586a345d082828ec2161aaecf_3686.xml&pid=80&r... • Problem with Mac OSX version of Microsoft RDP Client 8.0.10 (Build 25189) connecting to Linux host running XRDP

    Hi,
I have an issue when using the Microsoft RDP client on Mac OSX 10.X when connecting to a Linux host running the XRDP service(XRDP host is authenticating to an AD DC).
Exactly the same connection parameters work when connecting to the XRDP host from a Windows server using the local Microsoft RDP Client and the same authentication credentials, so I am confused as to what might be creating the issue.
I have also checked that I am able to connect from my Mac to the remote linux box that is running the XRDP service, by using another App on OSX called CoRD. This also connects without issue.
Are there any differences in the way the Mac version of Microsoft RDP authenticates compared to its Windows counterpart?
Any advise appreciated. Happy to provide any logs.

  • Problem with Mac OSX Magic Mouse in Library

    Dear Freinds,
me and some colleques, we got a problem with Apples Magic Mouse and Lightrooms Library: If the mouse is on the big picture of LRs Library, and you are swiping or wiping on the mouse only a very little, a lot of pictures are scrolling very fast, much to fast to handle.
This happens often without any purpose and that´s very annoying, because you have to search the picture again, that you worked with.
I think this is a bug of Lightroom, but I didn´t found a solution anywere.
    Is there any?
    Thanks
    Marco

This behavior was also in Lr4 and maybe Lr3.  The swiping with the magic mouse is oversensitive in a few other programs also.   It is pretty annoying but I have finally got used to being careful with the swipe in Library on the big photo.  I would think Adobe could adjust the speed for this but Apple should allow the user more options in the mouse settings panel.  Apple seems to be going in the negative direction of letting the user customize the interface as they keep taking more setting features out.  In their typical arrogance, it seems that they think Apple knows best and the users can just deal with it.

  • Pixma MX430 Wireless Connectivity Problems with Mac OSX 10.9.4

My Pixma MX430 suddenly refuses to connect wirelessly to my Mac running OSX v 10.9.4. I was able to fiddle with settings and nudge it to work but it now steadfastly refuses to play ball. I have no CD drive incidentally. I would be grateful for any suggestions as I need to print and scan documents urgently.
    Many thanks for your help.

USB 3.0 is an international standard. Yes, it's compatible with OS X 10.9.x
Reviews on Amazon from other iMac users have been positive.
Just like with USB 2 hubs, some devices aren't happy sharing.
I can't tell for sure it's the hub's fault. You need to try other combinations of connection.

  • Problem with mac osx 10.6.4 and audio firewire device

ok i use an edirol fa-66 , the problem is a random one , sometimes when i play music with itunes , logic or even the preview mp3 feature , the sound go downsampled and then stops, the only way to return is turn off and turn on the audio interface. I had this problem time ago only with logic 9.0.2 but with the version 9.1.1 everithing got right. Now with osx 10.6.4 the problem come back on all the audio programs (not only logic),so i have returned to 10.6.3, everithing works fine.
    conclusion
in 10.6.4 there is something wrong with the core audio that is incompatible with edirol fa device.
maybe with osx 10.6.5 apple can resolve this?
i'm thinking to buy a motu device (they have their driver and don't use core audio)

  • Photosmart C3180 and C4680 Scanning Problem with Mac OS X 10.9.5

I upgraded to OS X 10.9.5 and now can't scan using either Photosmart C3180 or C4680.  I've repaired permissions and uninstalled and reinstalled printers in Printers and Scanners preferences.  Scan no longer appears as an option in Printers and Scanners preferences, just print.  Using Preview, "Import from scanner" in File menu is grayed out.  Printing works fine on both printers.  I can't find any updates to printer drivers on Apple Software Update.

  • Asha 501 and USB problems with MAC OSX 10.9

I checked everywhere and I could not find any threads about this problem, so I'm asking here, in the official support forum.
    The problem is:
Connecting the Nokia Asha 501 to the mac (via USB cable), and selecting "external memory", the memory card is mounted and I can browse the contents, BUT the photos show corrupted. I even lost some, because I tried to open them in the Preview app on the mac. (take a look at the attached photo of this post, a screenshot clearly showing corruption)
Importing the photos via Bluethoot works, and the photo on the phone are showing fine. The memory card is okay, I checked with an external card reader.
    Also:
    - This problem does not show with Windows 7/8
    - This problem does show with other Mac OS X
The phone is updated, I flashed it with the Nokia Software Updater and I formatted the memory card.
    Any help?

  • HP Officejet Pro 8620 - set up problem with MAC OSX version 10.7.5

I have just bought a new Officejet Pro 8620 and all set up fine to a point. Problem is that when I try the HP Utility set-up and click on "Add Printer" and identify it as "Bonjour Malfunction" and select the printer from the pull down menu list, I receive the message:
"The software for this printer is currently unavailable, please contact the printer's manufacturer for the latest software".
I have already downloaded the latest software from theHP website - but stil no resolution.
Any help please would be gratefully received.

    Hello @Kennynic!
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
I would be happy to provide some help regarding your Officejet 8620 and installing the software on the Mac.  The first thing I suggest is to ensure all the HP Software is removed from the Mac. I suggest uninstalling the HP Software.  After the software is uninstalled I recommend performing a "repair disk permissions" on your Mac. A repair disk permissions is a utility built in the Mac operating system designed to locate and resolve issues or errors that may cause complications when re-installing. After the repair disk permission is complete restart your Mac and try adding the printer again.
To uninstall the HP Software click here: Uninstalling HP Software
To perform a repair disk permission click here: Performing a Repair Disk Permission
There is only software available for Mac 10.10.  Unfortunately there is no full feature software and driver available for Mac 10.7.  You should still be able to add the printer using the AirPrint drivers.  Go into System Preferences from the Apple icon and click on printer and scanner.  In the printer and scanner window click the add printer icon and you should be able to add the 8600 printer via Wi-Fi and AirPrint.
I recommend checking for software updates on the Mac. To check for software updates click the "apple" icon at the to left and click on "software update".  Install any HP or printer updates. After any updates you should restart the computer. and try printing.
Please post back and let me know how everything goes!

  • Starting up problem with Mac OSX 10.5.7

My 1 GB external USB flash disk can't be recognized after upgrading my OS to Leopard from Tiger. I tried to use Disk Utility to repair disk permissions following the instructions I was told. But then every time when I restart, it came to a black DOS screen saying that "No bootable disk - please insert boot disk and press any key". I don't have a bootable disk!!
I guess it's wrong to use Disk Utility to repair disk permissions. How can I solve this to go back to previous setting? I don't want to have to hold option key every time when I restart.

I didn't get the answer after one day and one night, so I had to post another one to catch people's attention.
Ok, I have figured out the issue by myself. The solution Carolyn said in my another posting is wrong (or at least not detailed enough), I followed her instruction and got disk error message. I was so worried that I'll need to reinstall the system. My experience is that never use Disk Utility on your startup disk unless you start up from installation disk.

  • Using a network-stored catalog with Mac OSX

    Greetings all.
I am using Photoshop Elements 11 on Mac OSX Mountain Lion and want to store my catalog on a local network drive (FreeNAS).  I have encountered many problems while attempting to do this.  Then I noticed in the Elements Organizer help, under the section "Repair a catalog", the following: "Note:  (Mac OS) You cannot access catalogs present on a network drive."
Is this true. or has someone found a workaround to the problem?
    Thanks!
    --John

Thanks, for that ( I assume we have to carry on in English due to forum policy even though we are both of German tongue I assume)
You mean the access problems are part of the "no network drive" thing? I suspected that. Took me a whole day in front of my computer to realign the mess.  So should one better not use the network drives at all? Quite a pity in times where everybody seems to use network storage.
No, I did not use organizer to use the photos. So there is no way to reconnect them? Should I delete the catalogue and start with the photos from scratch?
    Regards

Well, yes, these are part of the "no network drive" thing.
As for moving the photos, did you use organizer to move them? You will always have trouble if you move photos outside of organizer, even on the same drive--you have to let it manage your photos or it doesn't have a clue as to what happened.

  • Hi, I have a Mac iBook PowerPC G4 1.33 GHz with Mac OSX 10.4.11.

Hi, I have a Mac iBook PowerPC G4 1.33 GHz with Mac OSX 10.4.11.
I would like to connect an 20" Apple Cinema Display with ADC connection to it, but it seems impossible because the cord on the Cinema Display doesn't fit the Display port on the iBook G4!
May anybody suggest how to solve the problem?
Is the 20" Apple Display (aluminium enclosure) compatible with my iBook G4 Display port?
    Thanks.

    Thanks for your replay, Cornelius.
    Can you be more specific?
    Where the Display Forum is?
    I can't find it.
My question was: Is the Aluminium 20" Apple Display" (not the ADC Apple Cinema Display) compatible with the iBook G4 Display port?
I know for sure that the Apple ADC-DVI adapter can not be used to connect a Cinema Display to my iBook G4 port.
    Please help.
    Thanks.
