HP2000 Notebook PC reset stuck at 26 percent

Hi my laptop became very unstable after upgrading to Windows 8 to 8.1. IE11 was hanging and then the whole system would hang, causing me to hold the power button in to shut down the laptop. Programs and games wouldn't open plus I kept getting a Scripted Diagnostics host has stopped working" error randomly popping up. I tried refreshing the laptop, but it would always say there was an error refreshing your pc, nothing was changed. So I tried resetting the pc. It stuck on 26 percent. I waited half hour and held the power button in. It restarted and now it's stuck at 26 percent again! Any ideas what I can do? It's an HP 2000 2b29CA. Thanks!

I also tried removing Quicktime Components from my Library as per this link Hang| Initializing MediaCore | Startup screen | After Effects, Premiere Pro | CS5, CS5.5, CS6
I am down to these components now. Are there more I should remove?
Still getting the same timed out error message, though nothing is not responding in Activity Monitor.

iPhone 4s battery stuck at 100 percent. How do I get it back to normal?
Ever since the update, I am having issues with the battery. Phone shuts down while it still shows 100 percent battery life. Normally not a big deal because I don't use it all the time but lately an issue when I'm working in Manhattan and it shuts down while in the middle of conversation or emailing.
I can't go around charging it every hour wondering what my battery life really is.
    Please help!

My phone now is not working at all. It only works for a few minutes while it is plugged into the wall and then it shuts down and pops right back up showing it has 75% battery. It has been doing this since yesteday afternoon.
I tried the reset and it is still acting up. Dreading having to take this to the Apple store since it is past the initial 90 days and I will probably get charged for it. :( Dont want to shell out money for a new one since I just got this one in October.
    Thanks for your help.

  • High CPU usage HP2000 Notebook PC

About 3 weeks ago I purchased  your HP2000 Notebook PC, model #E0M17UA#ABA. Almost immediately I started getting "High CPU Usage" messages and everything is painfully slow. It does not matter whether I am reading the news, watching a videa or sorting my email, I get the high CPU message.  The system is 10 times slower that the HP that I bought last year for my husband and I find if I don't have alot of time to perform a task I just use his. Over the years we have used HP Products almost exclusively because of their reliability and when I had to replace my last laptop there were several in the same price range but it was the HP name that made the decision. Is this fixable? I travel frequently for work and I need a reliable system that I can actually use.

It is very hard to find the true specifications on this system. The actual processor speed is not listed in most of the literature like this:
    spec sheet
With a bit more digging it turns out it is a 1.3 ghz processor with 1 meg of L2 cache and dual cores. Basically, it is a very weak computer processor that is not much more powerful than many tablet and cell phone processors these days. It was made to blow out the door vey inexpensively at Wal-Mart. I just had one of these in my hands yesterday and the owner was having the same problems. Increasing the RAM to 8 gigs helped a bit but the thing that made is useable was to remove all the HP add-on packages, remove the McAfee antivirus and install Avast antivirus and lean up the startup sequence so that not so many processes are constantly running in the background. CPU usage dropped from a constant 100% to the 20s and 30s percent during web browsing and made the unit useable at least. It is never going to be a powerhouse, but if you configure it to run lean and mean it is workable for web browsing, office work and even watching DVDs and online video.
Post back if you want to go through step by step how to do this.

  • Downloading windows support software through boot camp stuck around 20 percent of the way.

downloading windows support software through boot camp stuck around 20 percent of the way. tried several times same thing. I don't have original snow leopard disks. MBP mid 2010 8gb ram 15'. is there any other way to get the drivers for Windows? I do have latest LION...

I personally never had problems with these downloads in Lion but it seems to be flaky for others.

    Hi,
    welcome!
What type of interface you need depends on what you want to do. In general, for home recording, a 2 channel interface, maybe with MIDI in/out, is sufficient. Good brands are, for example, Presonus, MOTU and Apogee. Most Logic user that use the Apogee Duet like it very much because of it's superior sound quality. The old rule is true, also: You (usually) get what you pay for. So don't expect too much out of a 100$ interface that has many features. It probably will also feature hissy preamps and buggy MIDI.
I have worked with cheap interfaces, though, and they can be usable, nevertheless. I have an Alesis I/O 2, and it works okay. Also my Tascam Fireone is nice, although the preamps lack some quality. I have worked with an Edirol UA-25EX, too, and like it very much. But the next time i buy an interface, it will definitely be a MOTU or the Apogee Duet.

    Hi,
The error  0x80070020 translates to: "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process"
I would check the anti-virus exclusions to make sure they don't interfere in any way.

  • HP2000 Notebook PC, model #E0M17UA#ABA CPU replacement

Simple question, I am wondering if HP2000 Notebook PC, model #E0M17UA#ABA with an AMD processor is soldered to the board or if it is replaceable and if so which part number or catalog can I use to locate a replacement. the 1.3ghz processor is not enough for my wife and I'd like to replace it with 2.3 or something similar.
    This question was solved.

No since it is AMD to AMD you should be able to boot the new motherboard off the old hard drive. If it is Windows 8 it will not even make you reauthenticate Windows. The Key Code is stored in the BIOS.

  • Factory reset stuck on cogs

I've waited 20 minutes now after a factory reset. the phone will not stop moving those cogs.
I reset my phone because I have to send it back to phones4u because of a deadpixel.
Any ideas what I am suppose to do?

You can let the battery drain completely and then plug the phone into the charger.
One of our members provided a solution found on the link below so you may try it, too.

If above wouldn't help, sending the phone to a repair facility is what I suggest. You can select the support website of your country here: http://www.nokia.com/global/support/locations/

  • Office 2013 lost when notebook computer reset

I purchased an Asus T300LA-XH71T notebook pc as a 2014 Christmas gift for my daughter. I installed MS Office 2013 via download after the computer was delivered. I was forced to reset the computer do to poor performance regarding adware/malware that appears
to have been installed prior to computer delivery. Windows defender was ineffective. I need to reinstall Office but can't see how to accomplish from information available on Microsoft website.

I think Don's directing JKW789 to the right way, click "Activate Office now" in office.com/myaccount and you should be ready to go.

  • Windows 8.1 update broke my HP2000 notebook

I was installing the windows 8.1 update when it froze at 84%. I let it just run like I always do, since I know that windows updates can sometimes hang like that. No biggie.
Then, all of a sudden, my computer restarted.. I thought it was going to load Windows 8.1, but instead I get a screen telling me that windows could not load and that I needed to do a restore.. Okay.. So I tried that...
It goes through the screen where it says "Diagnosing problems", and then goes to a black screen with a blue HP icon in the center and hangs there forever...
I'm seriously not going to replace this PC because of an update that didn't work. I have been a dedicated customer of HP for years, and refuse to just get another PC. This laptop is practically brand new. I would like a Windows 8 repair disk, or SOMETHING that can get me back to factory defaults, or some sort of system restore, or something. I'm not even the cause of the issue I am having. I am a software developer, and I know what I am doing on a computer. Please help me, as I am VERY frustrated.

Did you make a restore drive when you bought it? It would have used a disk or usb.
I believe you can order a restore disk from HP. It sounds like it would need one if the laptop can't boot.
About your data - do not insert a recovery CD or USB, or reinstall Windows from a Recovery Partition, because a reinstall will erase everything!
I suggest buying an external hard drive reader, which you can plug into another computer by USB and retrieve the data. They're not outrageously expensive - about £30 in the UK - so the dollar equivalent of that. It's certainly better than to risk losing your work, which sounds very important.
After it's backed up you can follow any reset procedure to get it working, without having to worry about your data.
Also, during the recovery when you said it 'hangs' on the HP logo, is the activity light still on/flashing? If it is, it might be worth leaving it like that for some hours in case it makes any progress.
If you fix it, by whatever method, DO NOT try the update again. It's been wrecking so many peoples computers and it's just not worth it.

  • IPod deletes all files every time it resets; stuck in restore-recovery loop

I have a major problem with my 120GB iPod classic, which was working perfectly until yesterday (it barely even had a scratch on it). I was playing my iPod normally when it suddenly froze. No problems there, this occasionally happens so I simply reset it as I normally do when it freezes (Menu+Centre buttons); but then I noticed something was wrong - the Apple logo reset screen remained for much longer than usual (usually after about 10 seconds it switches on back to normal). I left the iPod on my desk for about a minute, and it eventually switched on back to normal - however I was greeted by the 'Welcome' page to select a language, and all my music etc has been deleted!
I've tried everything to get this iPod working normally again - when I restore (even when using disk mode); the iTunes tells me it is in recovery mode and needs to be restored, however I've restored several times and the iTunes insists it is still in recovery mode. I've also tried changing the drive letter and formatting via the PC, but to no avail. I have also noticed that every time the iPod is ejected and it says 'OK to disconnect', it resets instead of switching on... and every time it resets, it erases all the data all over again and the 'Welcome' screen returns...
In short, the problem seems to be that the iPod is interpreting 'reset' and as a complete reboot - it keeps on resetting itself completely.
What can I do? I'm slowly going insane

a detail which I may have overlooked is, I have a suspicion that the iPod is not even being restored at all; the iPod simply resets (and deletes all the data while doing so) during a restore; therefore its not even allowing me to do a restore!

  • Retina macbook pro battery stuck at 0 percent

This is really weird. I have my retina macbook pro plugged in yet it's refusing to charge. It also says 16:51 till full! I have tried resetting pram and smc but nothing is workin. When I unplug the magsafe, the computer turns off immediately ( this can't be good for the computer im guessing). It hasn't even been a month since I bought this computer so I am going to rule out battery crapping out already...

Apple has outside suppliers for most parts.  Battery makers mass-produce, and errors occur.
Take the system to a Genius Bar as this is not normal behavior.
