Hp4530s lacks recovery manager and recovery patition.

My hp probook 4530s - (core i3 2350m - Windows 7 64 bit) laptop lacks recovery manager and recovery patition. It has genuine windows 7 but it doesnt include recovery CDs as well.
1)So how can i recover the computer and set to factory settings with original OS and Hp software?
2)Can i do it by pressing F11 when booting.
3)Will it takes to recovery manager even if there is no recovery partition or recovery manager in the laptop?
4)Sellers say this product has a hidden recovery partition and it will work when you press F11. Is that true?
Please reply me as soon as possible. Thank you

Hi:
if there is no recovery manager or recovery partition, then you won't be able to use the F11 method to recover the OS.
I never heard of a hidden recovery partition on any HP business notebook I am familiar with.
I guess you can always start up the PC and at the beginning of the HP welcome screen, tap the F11 key and see what prompts you get (if any).
The best thing to do, is to order a set of recovery disks from HP by calling them for the country you live in at the link below.
Call the number listed for business PC's notebooks. You will need to provide the model number and serial number.
http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html
You can also make your own windows 7 reinstallation DVD if you can read the 25 character product key on the bottom of your notebook.  Here's how:
If you can read the 25 character Microsoft windows 7 product key, you can download plain Windows 7 ISO files to burn to a DVD for the version of windows that came installed on your PC, and that is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC's case.
Burn the ISO using the Burn ISO option on your DVD burning program and burn at the slowest possible speed your program will allow. This will create a bootable DVD.
Or use the Windows 7 USB/DVD installation tool to compile the ISO file you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB method of compilation.
http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/html/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool
Use the 25 character product key on the PC to activate the installation.
The key will activate either a 32 or 64 bit installation.
Then go to the PC's support and driver page to install the drivers you need.
Link to the W7 ISO file downloads is below.

  • How to create up-to-date Recovery Drive and Recovery Partition on Windows 8.1 U1.

I am running 8.1 and exploring the recovery options.
I'm periodically creating recovery images, etc. but would like to do better than that.
I'd like to know how to:
Create an updated Recovery Partition that will restore to a Recovery Image (WIM) that I choose.
Modify / Create a Recovery Drive that includes a system image
of my choice, as opposed to an image created by the manufacturer / supplier (and the extra work that that implies).  If I can create an up to date partition and mark it as such, then I'm clearly done.  Should I not be able to sensibly
make my own partition, how do I create this on a USB recovery drive?  (The built in interface has a Boolean option, use hard drive recovery partition OR use nothing.  This would be solved if it
also had an option to use current recovery image.  I'm happy to write simple code to make this happen if that's what it takes.)
Put another way.  I can make a recovery image at will, how do I create a recovery partition and recovery drive to match?
I'm no expert on the ins and outs of Windows 8.1 recovery, if this is already covered elsewhere, I'd appreciate a link.

I have documented an unsupported process for creating an automated recovery for use in a task sequence
here. However, if I read your post correctly you are suggesting being able to do this from USB media. The method for creating the recovery partition is simple. It is simply a partition containing a folder called RecoveryImage with your install.wim
inside. Reagentc is the tool that will actually tell Windows where that recovery is. While I don't personally have a use for what your suggesting, I may give it a shot just to see if it can be done. I suspect it will work.

you can call Apple to order the original install DVD for your Macbook or you can order Snow Leopard for $20.

  • Can not find recovery manager and have no disks to even start.

Ever since I got my laptop fixed I have been having a lot of problems My system was windows 7 and is now windows 8.
First it will not let me complete an update and on the screen it says it is reverting files.
Second when I first start up my computor it will not start up it does not do anything I even waited 1 hour today to see
if it would. and it still did not I turned it off and restarted it to get it to come on. I also even waited almost three hours to try and install updates, and the same error message that I talked about earlier appears, but before that message it had a message saying that it would be two days to complete the install the updates is this even right.
The last thing that I tryed to do well I watched on you tube how to do a system recovery, but I need the disks that I do not have so after watching the video I was very disapointed to find out that I do not even have a recovery manager so this computer is just giving me a whole bunch of problems, and I would hate to send it back yet again, because of this.
I am looking for another job right now and want to get busy and get my resume together and job applications together, because in about 4 days I go back to work and the job that I have now I do not get much time to do anything. So please help and I would like to do it all on line if posible. Thank you.

    You have contradictions here.
The specs indicate that the computer came with Windows 8 installed, did you downgrade to Windows 7.  If you did the recovery partition is certainly gone.  Now you say you have Windows 8, how did you get it installed.
What update are you talking about, is it just one or many?
You say, " and the same error message that I talked about earlier appears, but before that message it had a message saying that it would be two days to complete the install the updates is this even right."  Where did you get that message from, no way will it take two days to install an update.
If you desire recovery disks and If you live in the USA/Canada, call HP at this number 1-800-334-5144, and see if you can still get a set of recovery disks.

  • HP recovery manager and windows update

    Hi,
    I am having two problems:
    1.  I have been having problem with my Recovery Manager, everytime I try to start it, it gives an error window "HP recovery manager has stopped working" and then it shuts the Recovery Manager down.  Please advise.
    2.  In the past I would run the Windows update through the Recovery Manager, but since the Recovery Manager was down, I would just go run the Windows update from the Control Panel.  But now even the Windows update cannot be started too.  It will just get stuck at the icon without further action when I double click on it.  Please help.

    Hi @yawbus ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP ENVY TouchSmart 15 Notebook and issues with the HP Recovery manager not working correctly.  Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system at the time of purchase that might need updating.
If that does not fix the issue you might have to install the Recovery manager from here.
You can do a system restore. System restore will help if something automatically updated and did not go well on the Notebook.
When performing a System restore please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices as they can cause issues.
I would be happy to assist if needed. How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
    Please let me know.

  • HP Recovery Manager and Windows 10

I just bought my computer and it came with Windows 8.1 installed.  I reserved Windows 10 so I will receive the upgrade when that OS becomes available.  I want to create a recovery set, but if I use HP Recovery Manager now to create the set it will have Windows 8.1.  Can I wait a couple of weeks and then create recovery disks after I have Windows 10?

Recovery partiton contains windows 8.1 - It will create only recovery of windows 8.1 even if you install Windows 10 or 8 or 7.The windows 10 copy that you will get is from microsoft and not HP and its free.so if you ever need to re-install, you will have to install windows 8.1 and then perform the upgrade again. You can also download the win10 ISO and burn it to a disc or create a bootable USB Flash Drive to install from and use your microsoft account to activate win10.

  • Recovery Manager & downloading recovery manager problems 2014 version

    Hi,
Firstly, I would like to say that I am sincerely greatful to Mumbodog for helping me with this problem.
    Problem:
Recently bought an HP 250 G2 which had Windows 8 Home. I required Windows 8 Pro and used my upgrade disk to install. This inadvertantly wiped all other software including the HP Recovery Manager. It also made the laptop pretty much useless because all the hardware peripheral software was removed as well. If you have done this then you cannot use the recovery or pc reset tools available in Windows 8. This was extremely frustrating because there was a recovery partition available with all the software on it to restore my laptop to its original condition.
I tried everything suggested but many of the technicians simply did not understand what the problem was. Some even suggested using the recovery manager when individuals had specifically stated that the Recovery manager was unavailable to them or suggested links which then described a process that used the Recover manager.
I finally stumbled on this post and it worked. The HP recovery manager hides in F11 on boot. Please read Mumbodog post that follows:

The full recovery manager program is not available for download, the only way I know to get it back is to use HP Recovery from the hard drive (F11 at boot time) or Recovery media to re-install Windows and all the HP software. You will lose all personal data when you do this so back up before restoring.

    Hi,
If you have created your USB Recovery, use this to perform the reinstallation.
If you don't have this, you can order a replacement Recovery USB Kit using the link below and use this to reinstall Windows.

If you have any problem with this link, order them directly from HP - make sure to specify that you require the USB Recovery Kit.

  • T510 Recovery Partition and Recovery Disks

    Hi There
I did a clean install of my T510 with Windows 7 64bit. I didn't create recovery disks prior to doing this, however I still have the recovery partition. How do I go about creating the recovery disks and/or how would I go about recovering to factory defaults now from the recovery partition?
    Thanks
    Neal

    Hi, thanks for your replies,
I have been looking at the disk management utility.  What I usually do is make my DAW/uadio partition first when I format as it wriotes to teh outer part of the hard disk which is quicker as teh read and write heads have less to travel, and then I stick my main general partition next, as i dont care if its not so fast.
The problem is that from the factory it already has the OS with all teh crap that comes with it on the first partition....any idea how to swap them around, or how do i just installl windows 7 on the second partition if i dont just have a simple windows 7 disk!
    Cheers

  • Windows 8 Recovery Manager using recovery discs

Having had a fair few problems with my Pavilion desktop since I bought it in February 2013, about 10 days ago, it completely crashed (not sure if this is the correct terminology!) and I used Recovery Manager to create three back-up (again, correct terminology?) discs. When I use these to recover the programs, it stops part-way through to say that I need to reinsert disc 2.  I do this and then, the disc is rejected.  I then end up clicking on 'cancel' which ends the recovery process.  I would really appreciate some help with this problem! Many thanks Cate

I have found my solution, going through the install.wim file in the recovery partition, in the Preload folder, there are
folders numbered 1 to 4,  folder number 4 has a folder  called SWsetup, in this folder is a folder called RMFQ, this IS HP's Recovery Manager install media, i now have it installed and running the recovery!!

    Hi @guser5169 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion dm3-3011nr Notebook and issues with the Webcam and newnext.me. Here is a document on how to resolve and prevent virus on Windows 7. The computers with Windows 7 can be scanned with Windows Defender, I would scan the complete computer.
Have you tried a recovery by using F11 at the start.

  • VMware Site Recovery Manager and CUCM Publisher

    Hi,
Has anyone actually used srm manager to move a publisher for example.
If I read the docwiki it says its compatible with caveats. The caveats seem to be shutdown the server before san replication and always have a backup before ,(which worries me)
    Anyone done or used this?

    Hi m.batts,
I used it in a 'lab environment' and it works without any problem ... I didn't have the opportunity to use it in a 'real environment', but as soon as more and more customers are using vCenter and UC in UCS-B, this will become a common practice.
    Hope this helps.

  • Recovery partition and recovery tools

    Hi all,
I just wanted to know what others think, or how you guys are dealing with this.
The case is - just unpacked brand new X220, so far so good, everything works.
But, every few minutes I get warning about low disk space on disk Q: - Lenovo recovery partition. Fine, it is basicaly read only, but unexperienced users might be worrying about it and everyone else definitely will be annoyed very soon.
I know, I can disable this warning via regedit, but is it best practice to digg into reg after unpacking fresh laptop?
Other thing is - after startup I got notice about creating recovery disks. Yes, might be helpful is some situations. But, again, X220 doesn't have cd/dvd burner, so where I suppose to create those recovery disks? There is no option to save ISOs anywhere, network, usb, etc. Next - I'm used to R&R, which saved me on few times. Looks like it is not installed, allright, trying to install - uops - "no free space on your computer".
Now the point is - I can manage all those quirks, but laptop is for user which is really not experienced in any IT woo-doos.
It should work properly out of the box!
When you buy a new car, do you need first swap tires or tune your air filter? C'mon Lenovo, most expensive X class latop with something like that?
