Hp4780 wireless quit working

My hp4780 was working great with my new mac - but now I continue to get "cannot connect" error and everything is stuck in the print queue.  Any advise?

How is it connected?  What version of OS X?

  • U350. Literally overnight...Battery won't charge and wireless quits working.

I've had my Ideapad U350 since June of 2010 and had absolutely zero problems with it until now.
Up til now, I haven't been experiencing shortened battery life or internet problems...now, out of the blue, the battery doesn't charge and the wireless won't come on.
I keep my system up to date and my anti-virus current.
When plugged in, the computer turns on.  The battery light  beneath the keyboard flashes orange constantly.  Mousing over the battery icon on the taskbar, the popup indicates that the system is plugged in. The battery is at 0% and not charging.
The light for the wireless does not come on at all regardless of the position of the switch on the side or any software settings that I've tinkered with.
I've gone to network connections and right-clicked the wireless...disabled it, re-enabled it...tried to diagnose the problem, windows just says that the card needs to be turned on.
I've un-installed and re-installed the device drivers from the device manager, no go.
On a whim, I backed up all of my data and used the one-touch system restore to go back to factory settings.  No dice.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I've got the wireless up and running.
At some point in the past, I had disabled the Lenovo software that put that annoying display in the lower right corner every time you adjusted brightness or volume or what not...
Having just reset my computer to factory settins (which confuses me as to why it wouldn't just WORK...it worked when I got it..) the software is once again up and running and I noticed that every time I flipped the switch on the side, the indicator would pop up in the lower right corner of my screen for wireless on/off...but the light near the touchpad still wasn't coming on.
So I hit fucntion F5.  The Lenovo Wireless Device settings popped up and I turned it on from there. Voila.
    Ok, one problem down.
    Battery is still an issue.
I Disabled the ACPI-Colmpiant Control Method as instructed on the other thread, let the computer reboot...re-enabled it. Nothing.
Tried another reboot.  Disabled, waited a few minutes. Re-enabled.
When I mouse over the icon on the corner it still says the battery is at 0% and the computer is plugged in but not charging.
I've read a number of complaints about the batteries failing around the 1 year mark in these laptops...but this one was showing NO signs of trouble until it all of a sudden quit charging and it's only been used for about 7 months..and even then, not heavily used.
    Any other ideas?

  • Actiontec MI424-WR Version E wireless quit working

Over the last 2 days my home WIFI has stopped working.  I can connect to the internet via an Ethernet cord but not wireless.  I have tried all recommended procedures without success.  How can I tell if my Hardware is broken or if it is something different.?

Can you see other wireless networks that are in range, like your neighbors and just not your own? Or can you not see any wireless networks at all. And you said you tried all procedures, does that mean you changed the wireless channel, and did you try all three (1,6,11)

  • Wireless Quit Working on HP Officejet Pro 8600 - N911g

Cannot re-establish wireless connection.  When I go to the screen that lists the id's for the various wireless routers, the screen goes blank except for a code about 8 characters or longer that starts (I believe) with B849.  The code is visible for less than a second.  The sceen bkanks out that message and displays the instruction to stop and then start the printer while lights that border the display beging to blink.

    Hey REFLaherty,
It sounds like the printer is having an issue with connecting to the internal wireless card.  I would advise performing a factory reset on this printer, then trying to connect to the network again.  I have the steps to perform this type of reset and will send this information to you in a private message here on the forums.  Please check your inbox messages.
Before performing these steps, please read Bob_Headrick's thread on printer resets found here.

  • My Windows XP 32bit Wireless quit working on my 2008 iMac, works great in Apple mode.

    Hello all,
My 2008 iMac in Windows XP 32bit mode (for work programs) stopped working.  The crazy thing is that its AWESOME in Apple mode, but in Windows mode, it fails totally.  I cant communicate with the modem.  I have tried reloading the drivers for the Broadcom from the OSX CD/Bootcamp Drivers, but that did nothing.
Any idea how to fix this?
Please help me.  I have spent a week on this, and its been malfunctioning for several months now.  I must get it working right.

A couple of things, first there is a Boot Camp forum so if you want support I'd think that would be the best venue.
As you have discovered Boot Camp only supports Windows 7 on the current machines so you are in a box if you must run on Boot Camp. However instead of using Boot Camp you can use virtualization software such as Parallels or VMWare Fusion which perform very well. The are many advantages of virtualization one primary one is you can still run XP. Others include being able to run MS Windows within OS X so you can use both OS's simultaneously. The only downside to virtualization is if you run graphics intensive apps (3D Game, CAD/CAM, 3D rendering) then performance will not be as good as with Boot Camp. However for almost all other apps performance is really good and most cases users don't complain.
While it will cost a few dollars (I believe about $79) virtualization is a very solid alternative.

  • My Bluetooth USB wireless transmitter for my portable speakers has quit working.  Preferences says, "The selected device has no output controls", it used to work just fine.  Can anybody help?

My Bluetooth USB wireless transmitter for my portable BT speakers has quit working.  Preferences says, "The selected device has no output controls", it used to work just fine.  The internal and a pair of wired external speakers work fine.  Can anybody help?

Just tested something and it worked.
If I put the headphones all the way in, the mac recognizes it as a digital output.
But if i don't put it all the way in, it recognizes it as headphones and works perfectly.
    It's probably this crappy headphones.
If anyone has the same problem, try this out.

  • Time Capsule--Wireless suddenly quit working

My Time Capsule had always worked perfectly, but suddenly my wireless access from any device has quit working. My DSL is working fine, and the router and backup portions of the TC seem to be working. I tried a hard reset, updating to the latest version of Airport Utility and Firmware, and it still doesn't work. My laptop sees the network, but when I type in the password and try to connect, I get a connection time out.
Is there anything else to try, or do I assume it's broken?

Do a factory reset.. if the TC still will not pass IP addresses it is indeed faulty.. I get the idea it has swapped modes for some unknown reason. Anyway give it a try.. no luck and Apple will replace it.

  • Apple wireless keyboard.  Caps Lock light quit working.

I know it's a small thing but all of a sudden the Caps Lock light quit working.  A real pain for entering passwordssince you can't see if their in caps or not.  Can this be fixed?

What does resetting the PRAM mean? How is that done?
    <http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11243>
It works best with a USB keyboard.  With a wireless keyboard, try pressing the keys just after the startup BOING.
You will need to reset the "Startup Disk" system preference after a PRAM reset.

  • Wireless (ndiswrapper) quit working, no errors

I recently put Arch Linux on my laptop, installed the cvs version of ndiswrapper and setup my Broadcom (ick) wireless (using the stock kernel 2.6 ide). Everything worked fine so I updated my packages with pacman  and made a custom kernel (2.6.11). I then recompiled ndiswrapper after reboot and everything went fine as far as reconfiguration goes. When I loaded the module my wireless light came on briefly and then turned off, however dmesg and iwconfig showed everything to be operational without any errors noted. When I tried to set the essid with iwconfig the output showed it was ignored (keeyping it set to off/any). iwlist wlan0 scan shows no results.
I tried reverting back to the stock kernel and recompiling ndiswrapper but still got the same results. I assume this is a package I upgraded that may be causing this?  I tried re-installing wireless_tools and nothing changed (the latest is what comes with Arch .07 anyway).
Any ideas? I'm stumped, thanks for any help.

sudman1 wrote:Have you tried Phrakture's ndiswrapper packages? I've only heard positive things about them. The cvs version may be unstable.
Yes.. ndiswrapper and the rt2750 driver from http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com/ quit working. The later crashing the kernel.
I've tried on both the stock arch kernel, and a custom 2.6.12.3.
Again, the wireless drivers were working correctly *before* .. and after a pacman -Syu and restart, they stopped (leading me to believe some package altered something critical).  I've also tested against 4K and 8K kernel stack sizes.

  • WRT610 wireless connection quit working

I just bought and installed a WRT610N for my wireless network. I have 5 laptops and a desktop running various OS, such as WXP, Vista Home, Vista Ult., etc. Also have a range expander. Everything was working last night. All with the same SSID's, all using the wireless  WPA. Range expander was working Blue, Blue. Router was setup in default mode (Wi-Fi protected). This morning, the range expander was Red, Blue, and none of my wireless connections worked. I finally uninstalled the 610 setup software, reset, bebooted, you name it, and I still cannot get any wireless connection. I have wired connection, obviously, as I am writing this. I've about had it. Any thoughts here? Something I may be missing?

I am afriad, WRT610N is not compatible with WRE54G Range Expander...I wonder how both worked together...

  • USB hubs quit working with 10.7.2

I have a Mac Pro, dual quad-core 2.8GHz Xeon, 10GB ram. Three D-link DUB-H7 usb hubs. After the update to 10.7.2 and iTunes 5.0.1 (not sure exaclty when), my usb devices & hubs quit working properly. For a while they would work occasionally.
I have a USB keyboard which works if it's plugged in directly when the computer boots. But other devices (external drives, flash card reader, iPod dock, USB display) don't work at all. I tested the hubs with another Lion system, and they work on that. iTunes wireless sync quit as well.
I've tried resetting PRAM and SMC. Neither fixed the problem. Tried repairing permissions. No change. Rebooting (many times).
Could it be a USB driver conflict? I removed VirtualBox usb drivers, as well as Parallels, but not vmware, which I also own.
When I plug in a device, I get 'trouble enumerating' and then "The IOUSBFamily was not able to enumerate a device." in the system.log
Any ideas? Is my motherboard dying? If so, why does the keyboard still work, and nothing else?

Followup info. I reset the PRAM and booted into 10.5.1, on another drive.
This time, similar behavior; HID devices (keyboard, mouse, bluetooth) work fine. Hubs (which work fine on another Lion computer!) generate a bunch of console errors:

  • IMac Trackpad quits working; comes back with bluetooth preferences in focus

    OS X 10.9.2, 2010 iMac 27", 2.93 GHz, 16 GB Ram.
I've used a wireless trackpad for a couple of years.  Recently, it randomly quits working, even with fresh batteries.  It ALWAYS comes back immediately when I bring up Bluetooth preferences to focus.  (no changes, just bring it to surface)  It then works for a while or days randomly, quits again and comes back when I bring back preferences.

Does anyone have any comment or ideas as to why this is happening?  I should have written this as a question I guess.

Until you get it fixed, you can tell pm-suspend to unload the wireless driver before suspending, then loading it again after resuming?

  • HT4623 Wi-fi quit working after i updated the iphone. What should i do?

Wi-fi quit working on iphone 4s after os update. What should i do?

It would seem the printer has lost the network information since it is flashing and power cycling the printer did not work.
This means it needs to be treated as a new installation to get it back on the network since it is a USB to wireless setup.
This will require a computer on the same wireless network and a USB cable to send the network information to the printer.
Uninstall the printer completely from the system.
    1.  Install the printer again and choose Network when prompted for the setup type.
    2.  Connect the USB cable when prompted.
    3.  Follow all the prompts during the installation and disconnect the USB cable when prompted.
At this point, it should be back on the network.
The newest software can be found by clicking on Support & Drivers at the top of this page and entering your printer's model for software and driver downloads.
