HP5610v All in One Fax Question

I've set up my HP 5610V all in one printer to receive the faxes via my computer.  Recently when I'm getting a fax it will say receiving then a message will come up saying there was an error and it stops.  On the rare occasion I would get a fax it won't let me open and read it.  Another error says I don't have a fax viewer but I do.  I've run all the diagnostic tests and they show no problem.
Any idea s how to fix?
Thanks

I'm having trouble trying to print using HP 7410 all in one fax. When I select the printer (HP fax), the blue "Print" button changes to "Send Fax Now" , but the button turns to inactive (I can't click on it). Besides that, the "Cancel" button next to it shows cut in half.
I also have a Powerbook G4 and the same thhing happens.
I've tried Applecare with no luck. Can anyone help me to solve that ?

Which HP printer do you have?

  • HP 6100 officejet all in one / fax problems

Ok, I have gone through the set up.  However, I never see a fax icon on the Director, and when I try to bring up the fax settings, all I get is an error message.  I am so frustrated.  I am trying to send a test fax to Kinko's, and I keep being told it doesn't answer.  Obviously I'm doing someting wrong.  I'm a 72 year old women with no 8 year old boy around to assist me.  Help! someone please come to my rescue.  Thanks.

You won't see a fax icon in the Director. There is no fax program at all that comes with the fax in the All-in-one (at least I've never seen one) that was for the future. The only thing that it handles is your name and telephone number done when you first install or by the menu. It can't save send faxes either. It can do nothing but print out an incomming fax.
You would have to get a real fax machine or a program such as "Mighty Fax" which you can use to send and receive faxes, and it will save your sent faxes and recived faxes. It will convert images to fax, and all input is user friendly without needing printer cardridges to operate. The All-in-one has never incorporated all fax capaibilites into the 6100 series.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus e All in One fax to e-mail help

I purchased this unit yesterday for my office and I would like to have incoming faxes get sent to my computer as an e-mail.  I have gone through the digital fax setup process but I am not receiving e-mails notifying me of a fax.  Here are some specifics:
HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus e All-in-one printer
Dell Inspiron 570 with Windows 7 64 bit OS
System is on a network but not through a server. Does anyone know how to set up the OfficeJet so it will send me e-mail notification when a fax is received?  Any help is appreciated.

    Hi,
You may set Fax to Email feature from the printer EWS page:
On the product control panel, touch the Right Arrow ( ), and then touch Setup . The setup menu displays.
Touch the Down Arrow ( ), and then touch Reports .
Touch Network Configuration Page . The product prints a network configuration page.
Locate the printer IP Address / URL to access the EWS:
Type the printer IP Address on you browser to access the EWS page
    Click the Fax tab
Click Fax to E-mail / Network Folder under the left column
Click Start Wizard and follow the steps to enable the feature.
Select Forward the Faxes to an e-mail address and proceed.
Follow the steps and provide your email account SMTP settings, similar to those used for Outlook
NOTE: You may contact your ISP to obtain the settings of your email server.
Click Save and Test to verify any of the settings is correct.
If you use a public email server (e.g. Gmail) and cannot find the needed settings, please let me know and i will try helping you to locate the server settings.

  • Hp 3310 all in one faxing problem

I recently changed my phone service with at&t to their u-verse.  In doing so, I now realize that I am now unable to fax with my 3310 all in one, and it seems it is because it is an analog and u-verse is digital.  Is there any type analog to digital in line converter available to help with this problem.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I do not know if the following will be helpful or not.  The document is somewhat vintage in design; it addresses DSL lines, for example, and may not be directly applicable to today's U-verse.

  • I have a 7510 all in one fax and can't get it on line. Can you help?

I can't get my 7510 on line to enable fax. I tried logging ing with the fax number and pin but can't get it to work.

    Hey Mhlogging,
Thank you for your question! I understand you're having a hard time setting up your fax. If eFax is having a hard time verifying your PIN and eFax number, try logging into into your eFax account (www.efax.com) and review your account information. It's possible that the account information is not verified on the printer.
If you continue to have problems, please let me know. Otherwise, feel free to mark the solution as solved.
    Thanks!

  • HP OfficeJet Pro L7680 all-in-one: Does it have internal stored memory?

Same question as the last post only for a differnet printer model (sorry for what may seem like a duplicate question - I'm just trying to be sure I don't cause myself a headache later).
I have an HP OfficeJet Pro L7680 All-In-One (FAX/Scan/Print/Photo) printer that I'd like to get rid of it.  Before I dispose of it, and for security purposes, I'd like to know if there's an internal hard drive that could potentially be storing anything I may have copied, scanned or faxed.

Hello sixmil5, and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! I see you have concerns about the printers internal memory.  The memory is automatically reset when the printer power is unplugged, so you should have no issue with personal information being saved.  Thank you for posting on the HP Forums and please let me know if you have any other questions.

  • C309a Photosmart Premium All-in-one keeps chiming repeatedly.

Product:  HP Photosmart Premium All-in-one Fax C309a
Lately, whenever we turn the printer on, it chimes repeatedly.  In the past, it's only just chimed once to confirm it's on.  It would also chime whenever it finished printing something.  However... now it does it 3-5 times for each activity... which is rather odd an annoying.  The only thing I can see that it's possibly related to is the black ink showing a 'lower level' of ink.  It's not even dry.  But, I think it's rather over-kill for the prolific chiming to be related to a half-empty ink cartridge.
I went ahead and turned off the sound effects volume on the printer itself, for the meantime anyway.  But, does anyone else know what's going on, or do they know why it would do that?

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @mrsddavis ,
I read your post about the troubles you're having with the printer telling you to "remove a USB device", when you do not have a USB device plugged into the unit. I have a couple suggestions that I hope will help you. You may have tried all of the steps to my first idea, if so move on to the second one. Also, the second step will be in a private message to you, as it cannot be posted publicly.  In regards to the ADF not working, let me know what the problem is, for example, will it pull in paper and then jam, or will it not pull paper in at all? Let me know so I can research that problem for you.
If you are not sure how to check your forum messages this post, has instructions.
    Power reset:
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 30 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
Ensure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help greatly.
Good luck, I hope this helps

  • Photosmart all in one - not scanning to PDF

Our photosmart premium all in one fax, scanner printer no longer scans to PDF files.
It prints ok and we can scan to photo directly from the scanner to USB and from / to the PC.
It worked perfectly well before, then started to stop several pages into a multipage scan. Then halfway through 1st page - now won't scan at al to PDF.
Any ideas?   We have uninstalled and re-installed several times - no success.

Hello ZiggyCat, and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are experiencing scan issues.  I would love to try and help you, but I do need a little information first. Hi everyone,
i need to buy a new printer all in one (fax and scanner) with WiFi.
I want that it's compatible with AirPrint (i have a iMac with 10.8.3). Price up to €100.
    Any advice?

  • Cannot scan, fax, or copy from HP Officejet 6500 All-in-One E709a

I can print from my HP Officejet 6500 All-in-One E709a, but I cannot scan, copy, or fax.  All drivers and updates are current; no recent updates were made prior to the problems occurring. I use Windows 7 64-bit.  When the printer is turned on, it always shows Original Loaded, but no documents are in the feeder or on the glass (I have already cleaned the glass and have ensured that the cover sits tightly).  I am having problems scanning, copying, and faxing. The automatic document feeder is functioning.  I have tried to reset the printer several times.
When I try to Scan a document in the document feeder (it does feed through) or from the glass, I get variable responses – rarely, it appropriately asks how I want to save/handle the doc (e.g., save as pdf), but the document does not actually scan and I am directed to Reload the document OR it displays No Scan Options. The document does not show in My Scans.
When I try to Copy, it shows the document as copying, but there is a long delay before the progress bar occurs.  When I copy using the document feeder, I actually get a copy (rarely and always faded-looking) or the copy prints out blank—both results are always followed by an error message to Reload the document.  When copying from the glass, the copy prints out blank with an error message to Reload the document
The same problems occur when trying to Fax.   Whether trying to scan, copy, or fax, the printer is making a lot of sounds of gears whirring.
Again, I can print a document from my PC without any problems – the problem is limited to scanning, faxing, and copying.
I have tried the HP Print & Scan Doctor.  It always stops at the HP Twain Scan step, saying the Scan process was cancelled by the user (not true).  When I click on Continue, it proceeds down to the Test Scan step, but nothing happens when I click on the Test Scan button.  It will only allow me to Skip at that point.   All of the other steps show green checks.

My first question is really going to get to the core of the issue, I heard you say that the printer makes sounds, but if you lift the lid does the bar A) travel across the screen and B) light up?
Additionally, perform both of these resets and let me know how they go!

  • Fax issue with HP OfficeJet 7210 All-in-one

    Hi everyone,
I've got an issue with my HP OfficeJet 7210 All-in-one printer/fax (USB connection)
    I'm under Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard).
When I was under Tiger, my printer/fax worked properly.
After the upgrade to Leopard, the printer/fax was still installed (HP 7210 was displayed as installed in the printer list of the System Preferences).
The printer works fine but the fax doesn't ! An error consistenly occurs when I try to send a fax.
Thus, I decided to uninstall every HP components from my Mac. Then I proceeded a fresh install of the CD software/driver I received with my printer/fax.
During the installation, I get an error : "HP AIO TRAP has quit". I went further and continue the installation till the end by ignoring the problem.
The printer is still working fine but I'm unable to install my fax in the System Preferences because the fax simply doesn't appear either on the "Fax" tab or on the "More printer" tab.
Only an unuseful "Bluetooth" fax appear, I can install it but it's impossible to send a fax with it : http://users.cybernet.be/ptsalos/hp-leo1.png
In the "More printer" tab I got this : http://users.cybernet.be/ptsalos/hp-leo2.png ... It seems that no fax are detected (no fax are displayed in "HP AiO Télécopie" and the "Add" button is gray).
I hope you could help me !
PS: the fax works properly under Bootcamp with Windows XP PRO SP2
    Thank you very much.

OK, so enough software is available (or will so been available) for me to start posting these types of workarounds (and getting more of you up and running). And remember, what I am about to tell you is NOT supported by HP, so if you run into problems doing this do NOT call customer support. I am posting this stuff here to try to help out the community. I will stop posting if this gets abused (even once).
If you have an HP OfficeJet 7310 or 7210 printer, go to HP.com/support, tell it you have a 7410, and download the installer (follow my instructions on the [Beta Announcement|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1252889&tstart=0 ] thread if you need more details.
    Now follow these instructions:
Step 1: Run the installer, and follow the onscreen prompts.
Step 2: When the screen comes up to select your printer, check the box my printer isn't listed and continue.
Step 3: On the next screen select the OfficeJet 7400 Series and continue.
Step 4: Select the type of connectivity to your device.
Step 5: Install the software (this may take several minutes).
Step 6: When you get to the Setup Assistant, skip it. Make sure you de-select the two checkboxes before you continue otherwise it will remind you every time you log in.
Step 7: Go into the Print & Fax System Preference and manually add your print queue.
Step 8: Go into the Print & Fax System Preference and manually add your fax queue.
Step 9: Start using your device.
Congratulations, you now should have a fully functioning device under Leopard. So what won't work with this work around:
    1) The documentation on your device will be wrong.
    2) If you did not previously set up a station ID for the fax, one will not be set.
    3) Device Manager will not know anything about your device so the functionality there will be pretty useless (most stuff can be done through other means though). However if you already have a Tiger install, even this should (theoretically work).
    4) Good question, if you run into any other issues post them here, I may have forgotten something.
    WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!
Please install the final drivers when they come out, and preferable the beta drivers too for your device too! Just because things are working for you does not mean that this configuration is supported (its not) or that there aren't any known problems (there may be, we certainly don't test it) so please take caution and update when possible.
    Just trying to help.
