HP6500 E709 wireless no printing or shutting down Windows 7

For some reason my printer is not printing and it was.  When I print a document it shows in the que; however never prints.  I tried unplugging, didnt work.  I think tried to use the button to shutdown the printer and after a very long time of it saying shutting down I unplugged it.  How do I fix this?  Is there some kind of reset or something?

Thank you for your response. It seems like the issue has evolved to "Printer setup has failed to complete". Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Uninstall the printer software. You can do that in Control Panel, then go to Add or Remove Programs, right-click on the printer software and select uninstall.
2. After that, go to the Start menu, and in the search bar type (without the quotes) "msconfig".
3. A window called System Configuration will open. Click on the "Services" tab. Click the check-box for Hide all Microsoft Services, then click Disable All.
4. Move to the "Startup" tab. Click Disable All. Then click Apply, then Ok. Restart the computer.
5. Try to reinstall the printer software.
As a side-note, ensure that all your firewall and anti-virus software is disabled, because System Configuration might not disable these programs.
Please let me know your results, after every step.

The thing is, this MUST be an Audition CC issue for two reasons. One, everything worked fine in CS6, which I was using right before I upgraded to CC. I even did a clean install of it by removing CS6 completely.
All versions of Audition can co-exist on the same machine quite happily - there is no interaction between them at all, and the system was designed to be like this. So there's nothing to stop you keeping CS5.5, CS6, CC and even Audition3 on the same machine.
The other thing I'm wondering about is Windows 8. There have been a considerable number of complaints about this doing weird things, including with Audition. I have a system that in many ways is very similar to yours, except that I don't overclock the mobo, and use a professional sound device (or two) with it (RME). The major difference though is that I use Windows 7 pro 64-bit, and I haven't had any of these problems at all. Yes I use it for a living, as well, but I don't bother with multiple DAWs - don't have time for all that these days. But I do use iZotope's RX software in its standalone mode without any difficulty.
I'm not claiming that  Audition CC is trouble-free - any number of Mac users will confirm that - but people running it on W7 certainly seem to have far fewer problems with it. It may also be worth trying an uninstall-reinstall of CC - you never know. But differences in preview quality certainly point towards audio drivers, I'm afraid...

  • Laserjet 1020 does not print / print spooler shuts down.

Print spooler shuts down after installing lj1020_1022-HB-pnp-win64-en and restoreing to previous windows 7 restore point.
I have deleted the printer several times.
Running x64 windows 7.  This is a new problem after several months of running consistenly.
    BK

I have the same problem but only with printing documents from secure sites (online brokerage)  like statements and Tax Documents.  The problem exists whether I print directly from the website, or download the document and try to print the file.  I suspect the issue is with the driver for the 1020 because I can print the same files on my HP PhotoSmart Plus with no problems.  I too am running Windows 7 64 bit edition.  The bad print job stops the Spooler.  You can Restart the Spooler (it appears), but the minute you try to print anything, the Spooler shuts down again.  Rebooting does not fix the problem.  The only solution is a System Restore.
After the 1020 shuts down the spooler, even my PhotoSmart cannot print, but it at least produces error msgs to the
effect that "No pages have been selected for printing".  Trying to print from the 1020 - absolutely nothing happens - no printer dialog, no error message - just nothing.

  • Shut down window keeps popping up...

This issue keeps me busy since Snow Leopard already, and I thought it's done with a new Mac (Early MBP this year, migrated via Time machine) or Lion (installed right after launch) - but still there:
My 15' MBP (early this year) is connected to a 30 inch Cinema Display (one of the last versions available) via an Apple cable ($99).
Now I disconnect my MBP from the Cinema and work mobile, and not every time, but very often, I come back and connect it back to the Cinema, the "shut down" screen keeps popping up. If i hit cancel, it comes back in seconds. There is no alogorithm to get it going...at some point it just stops. This was partly ok with Snow Leopard, since this screen could have been just moved to a spare part of the screen and I could continue working...but under Lion, you cannot mve it away and work - since the shut down window is dominant and keeps getting activated. I have attached a screenshot of the shut down window so everyone knows what I am talking about.
How can I get rid of the issue? It's not a hardware issue, since I had 2 Macbook pros with the same issue...seems to be a software issue.
    Can you help?
    Thanks, Markus

  • Frequent "Firefox has encountered a problem and needs to shut down" window. Need to disable adblock plus and AVG safe search to continue. Any way to fix?

For about a third of websites I visit, at some point I receive a "Firefox has encountered a problem and needs to shut down" window. I have to disable both Adblock plus and AVG safe search in order to continue. This used to happen for two or so sites, and I disabled the ad-ons before going to those sites. It has increased to the point that the adblock plus and safe search ad-ons are becoming pretty useless. Is there any way to rectify this problem. Sending error reports has no effect.

Have you changed anything in the Photoshop installation areas?  If the updater doesn't find a pristine installation it will fail.
The only area you should ever put anything into is the plug-ins subfolder.  Everything else is hands-off.

  • Virtualized servers get stuck at "Shutting down Windows Modules Installer service ..."

    Hi,
I have a Windows 2008 R2 (no service pack) server that has been virtualized last summer and since then:
    - Windows Update does not download any updates (it says Cancelled for every update in the Update History)
    - When I reboot the vm, it gets stuck on "Shutting down Windows Modules Installer service ..." and I have to cold-Reset the vm to get it working again.
I tried running Windows Update Standalone Installer (Windows6.1-KB947821-v20-x64.msu) on the machine, but that gets stuck on "searching for updates"...
I tried stopping the Windows Update service but that doesn't work either, it says that the service is not responding...
I'm not sure what to try next, I'd appreciate any pointers.
    Thanks a lot,

  • Skype Crashed when shutting down Windows with ASUS Xonar audio

This has been a problem for a while now. Various updates have (temporarily) fixed it only to have another update come along and re-break it.  Every time I shut down windows 8.1 Skype prevents windows from shutting down because it's crashed and I have to click OK he get skype to go away so my system will shut down or reboot. It's quite annoying.

I checked this again and found out that the issue is still here.
I have an assumption that the issue is related to the hybrid power off mode, that was presented in windows 8. As you know, starting from windows 8, your windows never shuts down completely. Memory of the system session (ring 0) is dumped to the disk on windows shut down, and loaded on next windows start. This approach gives us less start up time, but works only if hardware not changed during the shutdown. When you restart your windows it shuts down completely and you can see the difference in a boot time. Because of this new mode windows creators moved some drivers from system session to the user session (printers etc).
When I disabled all sounds in the skype settings I got following behavior:error appears on shutdownerror doesn't appears on restart.

  • Software upgrade shuts down windows at 'boot ROM"

I have tried multiple times to upgrade to 4.5 device software from the desktop manager. It always shuts down windows...showing a blue screen, locks up my phone until I remove the battery.....then restart my laptop and it says it recovered from a "fatal error". Tmobile  first told me to download latest version of desktop manager, which I did.  I still have the same problem, then they told me it is my computer and couldn't help me. I have Windows XP w/latest updates.  Anyone have any idea why this is happening? Thank you!

I am having this exact same problem my phone restarts when updating the software after boot ROM, then it says there has been a fatal error. it does this everytime i try update my software. so any help would be handy.

  • X240 No Power After Shutting Down Windows

I'm working on X240 Thinkpad which is not powering-up. After replacing the planar it booted but after shutting down Windows, it won't power-up again. I notcied that it powers on again after reseating all battery including the (CMOS battery), but is dead again once you shutdown windows. BIOS FW is updated and its passing the self test. Pressinng the reset button thru pin hole does not solve the issue. It always need resetting all battery (CMOS battery included). Problem does not occur when the thinkpad is not booted to windows and shutdown via power button only. Thanks in advance. Please note that the planar has been replaced for the 2nd time in the span of around 2 months.

I've had a similar problem with the laptop before this one. I could tell you to try to take the battery out and hold down the power button for 5 seconds and then put the battery back, but that probably won't work. I could tell you to hold down the altcommandp or o and try to reset the ram, but that won't work. Your issue sounds like the power supply and your laptop is most likely dead.
If you bought it from apple.com you will have to return it and deal with the most incompetent customer service people on the planet. Took them 2 months to get my issue resolved.
I wish you the best of luck.

  • After installing HP software for new printer laptop shuts down several times a day

I had an older HP Photosmart printer and it lost it's wireless connection often.  I decided to get a new printer and purchase an HP Officemax 8600 printer and immediately my laptop started shutting down without notice.  It would leave me a notice that my computer had shut down and another screen showing all of the code and asking me if I wanted to send the error to Apple.  I am sure they have now received dozens or hundreds of these notices and of course I still have not responded.   I have not seen a fix.  Really poor response from a company that I thought had a committment to their customers.  Though wrong.

Some of the HP software creates a lot of network traffic.  It can overwhelm some routers.  What kind of router and ISP do you use?

  • Photosmart C4580 won't print - push a button on printer it shuts down

The Photosmart C4580 has been reluctant lately to print anything at all. The documents sit in the spooler but won't print.
I've searched for this problem here and haven't seen same printer, same issue and solution, so here goes...
    Dell Dimension 3000
Win XP Pro Service Pack 3
I've had this printer since February 2009.  I've set it up on the USB port.
Three weeks ago I upgraded the memory from twin 256 module setup to twin 512 using Dell products. Obviously, I took the PC apart, cleaned the dust bunnies, installed the memory and everything worked great after rebooting - including the printer.
About two weeks ago a carriage jam error popped up. It wasn't jammed but I pulled the ink, reset them and restarted the printer. It worked fine - no noises, no jams, nothing.
Yesterday the printer quit printing at all. It said documents are printing but they just sat in the queue. I've done:
    1. HP Solution Center guided solution
(when it asks to hit the Cancel Button and Start Copy Color buttons to print Self Test, the printer shuts down every time)
    2. Windows troubleshooter
    3. The HP Support solution online
    4. Reinstalled printer using original CD
    5. Reinstalled using the latest install software from HP online.
*After the latest reinstall, where the program asks you to print a test photo page, it did not print. HOWEVER, after I shut down and restarted the printer, that photo printed! But I can't print anything else since.
Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.

  • Printer selection shuts down...

I have 2 HP printers connected to my G4 laptop. First one is as PSP2355. The most recent one is D5160.
Both worked fine when I added the D5160 about a week ago. When I went to print two days ago, no printers could be found. Did the utility, it saw the printers, when I went to add I got an Apple server error message - something "unexpected" shut down.
Called HP, went through resetting the printer in the Mac, reinstalled the software, still got same result. HP feels it's a Mac thing.
Only thing I can think of is I added Office:Mac between the times when it worked and didn't, and I took the HP Trap monitor window out of my startup items (it kept coming up every time I turned the computer on).
    Any suggestions?

Hello, It sounds like the printer may be entering sleep-mode rather than powering off. Sleep mode automatically puts the printer into a lower-power state after a set period of time of non-use. The printer should return to its normal power state when you send another print or scan job. Unfortunately, you can't turn this feature off but you can increase the time it takes to enter into sleep-mode: ● After initial setup of printer, the printer will enter the Sleep mode after five minutes of inactivity.
    ● The time to the Sleep mode can be changed from the control panel. To set the Sleep mode time
    1. From the Home screen, touch (Setup).
    2. Touch Preferences.
    3. Scroll through the options, and then touch Sleep Mode.
    4. Touch After 5 minutes or After 10 minutes, or After 15 minutes. Thanks! If my post has helped you, click the Kudos Thumbs up!

  • Attempts to print wont print and shut down my application..help!

I have a Lexmark printer, it has been successfully installed, the comp recognizes it and I am able to print a test page from the printer tool box. However, every time I try to print something for real from an application (word, safari, iphoto, etc) the application will shut down and I get this error message:
The application___ quit unexpectedly. The problem may have been caused by the IJPrintQuality plug-in.
And then it gives the options to report and relaunch the application. I repeatedly report and relaunch with this scenario happening over and over again. I've never been able to print anything other than a test page on my printer (so i know the comp can read that the printer is there!)...anyone have any ideas to help out???

    Hello Amanda:
    Welcome to Apple discussions.
If you installed the software that came from your printer from Lexmark - uninstall it. Most printers are plug and play - using the built in drivers in OS X. Then uninstall the printer and try to reinstall it.
