HP7500A printer use of visual indicators below the touch panel

There are visual indicators named 'print' 'fax' 'scan' 'copy' 'web'. below the touch panel of my HP7500A multi function printer.
Initially I was thinking that these are touch buttons for quick access; however there is no functioning when I press them.
What is the function of these buttons or only for aesthetitcs reasons?

Hello KeroMero,
The words "'print' 'fax' 'scan' 'copy' 'web' " describes the functions performed by the printer.
They are not Buttons.
Touch screen display is the only place to interact with the printer.

  • Sizing 50 controls/indicators on the front panel to look similar

    Hello
I have 50 bollean rectangular indicators on the front panel. For some reason the sizes of few indicator are slightly different than the others. If I resize them using mouse it oversizes it. Cant think of an intuitive method to achieve this.
    Any ideas!

You can also create a 1D or 2D array of indicators in which case they'll be as big and the handling might be easier ... although you cant place them as freely.

CS6 problem. When I open the Mask panel, it takes up the entire screen width and the Looks controls disappear, Also, there is a new panel below the Mask panel that seems to have no purpose that I can find. The documentation says "Mask and Look panels - The Mask panel is now placed next to the Look panel. WIth the masking and grading tools placed side-by-side, you can now work faster on the mask workflow." Is there a way to move, hide, or otherwise manipulate the panels for a custom layout? All the examples I can find on the Web show the Looks panel to the left of the Mask panel where the controls are available.

Ok, here is what I have so far. Appdelete the iWork and reinstalled. Pages and Number work, but not Keynote.
Now, I downloaded a couple apps that I need, and no matter what I did, the spinning ball came up and the download stopped till it unlocked itself. It is really frustrating because the download was not completed and whatever came through would not mount. Could this issue be the internet connection? Permission fix showed a lot of Airport issues. I will try to run permissions fix again.

  • Can I use third party Windows CE based touch panel to control my system?

I want to use a WindowsCE based touch panel to control my system by connecting a CompactDAQ to it through USB and installing the.exe file built from LabVIEW and installing the CompactDAQ drivers.
It sounds doable, but I don't know if WindowsCE does support those .exe files or the hardware drivers or if there is something I can do to make it support them. I hope anyone has an idea about this and can help me.

I found the following statement at :
LabVIEW Touch Panel Module Getting Started Guide
    http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/5868
"The deployment procedures discussed previously for NI touch panels are not guaranteed to work for third party touch panels. If the use of a third-party touch panel is desired it must met certain requirements in order for the LabVIEW touch panel module to properly work with it.
The LabVIEW Touch Panel module only officially supports the two operating systems and two processors that the NI touch panel devices are based on. The operating systems supported are Windows CE 4.2/5.0 and Windows XP Embedded, while the supported processors include the StrongARM, XScale, and x86.
Another consideration when using a third-party touch panel is that a LabVIEW Touch Panel Deployment License must be purchased for each deployment of an application developed with the LabVIEW Touch Panel module.
In addition, specific Microsoft tools must be installed on the touch panel target in order for the LabVIEW Touch Panel application to function as expected. The following Microsoft eMbedded Visual Tools need to be installed:
    Microsoft eMbedded Visual C++ 4.0
Microsoft eMbedded Visual C++ SP 4 or later
SDK for Windows Mobile 2003-based Pocket PCs
Reference the Where Can I Find the Microsoft Tools I Need for the LabVIEW Touch Panel Module? knowledge base article to find links to the current Microsoft download sites."

  • Using a Meter control in LV Touch Panel, and using shared variables that are custom controls.

I Just started using LV touch Panel module with an NI TPC-2106.
    I have two differenct problems:
    1) I was planning on using the "Meter" control quite a bit. I can set up the meter exactly how I like on the host PC, but on the touch Panel computer it seems to ignore my adjustments, mainly the start and end of the scale - i.e. I would like control to run from 0 to 360 with 0 straight up, using the entire circle. However, on the Touch panel computer it always puts 0 at about 7 o'clock and 360 at about 5 o'clock. I have also tried adding markers to no avail.
    2) I am communicating with a compact fieldpoint controller. I can creat a shared variable that is a simple double with no problems. However, I have some shared variables that use a custom control for the variable type - bascially a cluster with a couble doubles, a time stamp, and an enumeration. It lets me drag the shared variable into my diagram, but it seems to ignore it when I run it.

    Ipshita_C,
    - I am using LV 8.6.1f1and LV Touch Panel 8.6.1.
    - I have attached a simplified VI that shows how I want to use the meter. Notice that the placement of the endpoitns does not work correctly on the touch panel, and that it ignores the arbitrary markers that I placed.
    - I also have included an XY graph control that displays on the TPC with margins around the graph area that I removed from the graph control.
    - For the shared variable, it appears to be an issue related to the touch panel, not fieldpoint. I found another thread in this forum that mentioned that clusters containing Enumerations do not work in shared variables on the touch panel. I changed the enumeration to an integer and it now works fine.
In general, there seem to be a disappointing number of limitations in the touch panel implementation. My biggest concern is that I have not found any documentation from NI that lists these limitations. I seem to have to try things out and see what works and what does not work. Can you point me to a comprehensive list of touch panel modules limitations?

  • Is it possible to use a Case Structure to hide numeric indicators on the Front panel when they are not in use?

I am rather new to LabVIEW, have only been using it for about 1.5 weeks as of this post, which means I may be missing something rather obvious due to ignorance, but is there any way to have my front panel change as my case changes due to user selection of a certain case via the front panel?
The goal of the program is to make a simple layout for a user that is using the digital multimeter that the proposed code is designed for and I don't want tons of numeric controllers and such clogging up the screen space that don't work with the function the user is using to measure with.
    Thanks in advanced.

Check out the property node for the controls
    Visible Property
    Short Name: Visible
    Requires: Base Package
    Class: Control Properties
    Displays the front panel control.
This property is similar to the Show Control and Hide Control options on the shortcut menu of a control.
Also look at the TAB control to control which controls are available to your user.

  • Use of Favorites Collection in the Font Panel

I make frequent presentations in PowerPoint (Office X). Normally I only use 3 or 4 fonts. To change fonts I must scroll through a long list of installed fonts. I "discovered" the Font Panel and special collections one can prepare, such as Favorites. I have made a Favorites collection with those fonts I use. My question is, how do I make use of my Favorites Collection when I am in PowerPoint so that I can avoid those interminable scrolling sessions?
    Thanks- Leigh

actually - I just found out on another thread that perhaps "file path" was never on the information panel anyway.  I wonder if I am confusing it with the info panel I see in iphoto library Manager.
And I just hovered my mouse over the "at the beach" file name in the information panel, and discovered the origianal file name showed up.  And if you hover your mouse of the date, you see "taken, modified and and imported".
Still wish I could see the file path, but now wondering if I ever did in iPhoto.  But hope this reply of my own helps others that may be wondering where some of the stuff went.

  • How to get the data out of the phone when the touch panel is cracked?

Hello,i break my front touch panel accidently, means i couldn't un-lock my phone anymore..but, there has some very important data and file in the phone memory.is it possible or any ways to get those data/files out???  i don't want to repair the front panel of this phone anymore.. (2nd time already.. ) i would get a new model.  thanks in advance.Sean

Hi zienab_samir, welcome to the community!
You can get an OTG cable which connects to your phones charging port, the other end of the cable is a female USB - which allows the USB of a mouse cable to be plugged into it. You can then see whether you can use the mouse to unlock the screen.

  • How does one print using a usb cable on the mg6420?

My Internet connection is down...need to print for new employment!  I'm using a MacBook Pro.

As long as you already installed the drivers, when you plug in the USB cable it should automatically add a USB instance of the printer into system preferences (so, if you had the wireless version installed before, you would have 2 options now, MG6400 series and MG6400 series copy 1, or something similar). As long as you select the new instance of the printer you should be able to print via USB fine.

  • Is it possible to sort the controls and indicators on the front panel?

Programming events would be much easier in an application with lots of
controls and indicators, if there where a means to sort and group them.
Is there any means to do so such that you see a sorted list when choosing the control that triggers an event etc..?

I am not aware of a way to sort the list of controls (that are listed in the edit events dialog) by name. They seem to be sorted in the order they were created.
I agree, sorting could be useful for large VIs.

  • Does hiding controls/indicators on the front panel significantly effect computer resource consumption?

I remember reading something about transparent controls and indicators leading to overhead processing... does hiding controls/indicators have similar or ANY negative effects?

There's a difference between "effecting resource consumption" and "affecting resource consumption" - I assume you mean "affect".
There's a difference between a transparent control and a hidden control - Hidden means the VISIBLE property is set to FALSE, and certain optimizations can be done - it doesn't have to draw anything. If a control is set to transparent, it will still go through the motions of converting that integer to text (or whatever), and then draw nothing (the decision is made later, so more time is taken).
A transparent control can still react to mouse clicks. A hidden one cannot.
It shouldn't affect any memory consumption, except for a video frame buffer.
It's not clear from the question whether you mean the ACT of hiding t
hem (the turning OFF of the visible property), or the fact that they may be hidden.

  • Using Color Box controls in Touch Panel Module

    Hello,
I am attempting to change the background color of my touchscreen panel (tpc-2006) when a certain value increases past 5.  I have successfullly done this using color box controls, but Labview will not allow me to deploy it to the touch panel. I am guessing color box controls simply do not work with the touch panel module.  Am I wrong about this, or is there another way to change the color of the screen?
Attached are the VI and the lvproj files.  The color changing works fine if the VI is open only.  Errors result if the lvproj file is used, because it specifies that the VI gets deployed to a touch panel.
I am using Labview 8.5, with the Touch Panel Module 8.5, on Win XP.
    Thanks!

    Thank you, tst.
I tried your solution using the select control and writing directly to the color box.  This works great on my desktop, and it even deploys to the TPC.
However, it does not work at all on the touch-panel.  The screen remains black and does not change.
    Any other ideas?

  • Can't print to Lexmark X5270 (printer model is not in the "Print Using" box

I recently purchased this iMac and cannot get the printer installed correctly. It all seems to be going well during the install -- the printer shows connected to USB in the print browser. I select it, but when I go to the "Print Using..." drop down box my model of the Lexmark printer is not there! I tried downloading the driver for MAC OS X from Lexmark, but it is a weird file that the Mac does not recognize ("5200 Series Web Installer...sit") So I select the general driver from the drop down and add the printer. Whenever I try to print something, whether it's a simple text file or a drawing the printer does not respond.
    Please help!!
    iMAC   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Hi there,
I think you will find that like the Canon BJ's, the Lexmark utility should automatically set to the model of printer you have in the Print Using menu, rather than you having to browse for it. This would mean that the application to do this would have to be installed and preferably written in Universal for your Intel iMac.
Therefore you will have to use the Lexmark application you downloaded. The .sit is a Stuffit file. You can download Stuffit Expander for free (http://www.stuffit.com/mac/index.html) and once the file is unpacked there should be an installer that will add the necessary files to your iMac. Once this is done, you should find that when you select the printer in the Printer List, the Print Using menu will change to the correct driver and allow you to print.
