HP8563E Spectrum gpib driver for labwindows/dos

Hi
I'm looking for HP8563E Spectrum gpib driver for labwindows/dos.
Best regards

I don't know of a driver, but you can download from agilent their Spectrum Analyzer compatability guide which cross references their analyzer's GPIB commands and create your own driver. It contains compatable commands for 8563 among others.
http://www.tm.agilent.com/classes/MasterServlet?view=faq&faq-ItemID=1000003541&language=eng&locale=US
I still use the 488.2 board (successfully with WINNT, ME with patch, 95) and don't use instrument drivers, just include the NIGLOBAL.bas and the GBPI32.bas and import them into either a VB project or MS Excel. From what I've seen there are only two basic types of instrument commands, settings and queries (both text), so I don't use a pre-compiled driver. Also been successful at using Microsoft's Winsock ActiveX control for real
-time display re-creation of an Advantest SA display over the internet. Hope this might help.

    Thanks.

The Instrument Driver Network has all the drivers for instruments. There is no driver specific to that model, but there is one for the 6310B. Perhaps that may work for you. You may need to modify it. If not, you will need to write one yourself. You can get a lot of material for this here: http://www.ni.com/devzone/idnet/development.htm

    Manfred,
You could look for a driver for another Keithly model or try one for a
different brand. They may be similar enough to modify easily. I realize this
goes against the idea of SCPI and standards but it is the best we have now.
    Good Luck

  • Where can I download labview GPIB driver for Electroglas 2001 wafer prober?

Need a copy of Labview GPIB driver for Electroglas 2001 prober. Please let me know where I can download it.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
All the Instrument Drivers NI has can be found at the Instrument Driver network:
    www.ni.com/idnet.
I searched for the instrument you are using and I couldn't find anything on it.
In this case, you can contact the device manufacturer to see if they have a library. If not, you'll need the command set of the instrument. With the command set you can then use the VISA VIs to sent these commands and receive any data from the instrument.

I need GPIB Driver for Keithley 263 Calibrator/Source Meter using Labview. Can anybody help?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
on Keithley's website is explained :
"The Model 263 offers a more economical, more precise alternative to the Model 6430 or the Model 236 when used as a low-current source. It is used almost exclusively as a current calibrator."
    This leads to Model 236.... A LabVIEW-driver is available @: http://search.ni.com/query.html?lk=1&col=alldocs&nh=500&rf=3&ql=&pw=595&qp=%2BContentType%3AInstrumentDriver+%2BIDNetManufacturer%3A%22Keithley%22&qt=&layout=IDNet
Maybe you have to "reconstruct" some parts - but it will help.

  • GPIB driver for AVS-46 resistance bridge

    Hi,
does anybody have a GPIB driver for an AVS-46 resistance bridge?
I tried to program it by myself, and reading data works, but I found a
problem when I try to change the multiplexer channel programatically.
According to the manual, the GPIB command syntax for this command
should read "M[0....7]", where the number is the channel number. In
practice, this does not seem to work, and I have to switch the
    channels manually.
    Thanks for help!

    Hi,
It seems that there is a driver for the AVS47 up on picowatt's webpage. http://www.picowatt.fi/index1.html. If it does not work exactly with your instrument, it would serve as a good starting point for your driver.
    Hope this helps!

  • Where can I find GPIB drive for Stanford SR830 lockin amplifier for labview 6?

Hi I am trying to work with the lockin amplifier (Model: Stanford Research SR830). Unfortunately, my computer only has labview 6 installed. Could you please let me know where I can download a SR830 driver of GPIB version for labview 6? I have checked the NI website. Only drivers for LabVIEW 8.0 and up are available here. http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=240C113D3165071BE0440003BA7CCD...
Please let me know. If any one could upload one, that would be so great. Thank you.

    Hi Wayne,
I am assuming you obtained the drivers from ni.com/drivers webpage? You can ask someone to convert it for you on the version conversion board and you should be good to go. If you create a new thread there please post the link to it over here so we can continue assisting you. Thank you and good luck!

  • Yokogawa UT driver for LabWindows/CVI 6.0 won't translate to LabVIEW 8.6?

The device driver for the Yokogawa UT series furnace controllers is in LabWindows/CVI 6.0 and I would like to use it in LabVIEW. I tried to use the utility to convert from LabWindows/CVI to LabVIEW, but it said it couldn't and that the device driver is from before LabWindows/CVI 5.01.
In any case, here is the series of events.
I downloaded the LabWindows/CVI to LabVIEW Converter, from
the page on LabVIEW's developer's connection that had the driver for the
    Yokogawa UT controller.
From an empty LabVIEW Block Diagram, I click
    Tools>>Instrumentation>>Create LabVIEW Interface to LabWindows/CVI
    Instrument Driver...
This takes a little while to load. During loading an
FC_Interface_Main.vi runs, apparently trying to find a file.
Once that is done, the two options are Basic and Advanced. I leave
basic selected. I click next. browse to find the ykut.fp file from the
    driver I downloaded.
I then click next. The error window that is seen in the screen shot is
    then shown.
I called a tech support guy at NI about this, and I e-mailed him with all the above, but there was no reply, though the conversion utility is no longer available on the same web page as this specific device driver.
In any case, if anybody could give a little guidance, it would be appreciated.

    Hello Screamingzebras,
I converted the .fp file to be version 5.5 and ran the utility that was mentioned.  I have attached two files to this post.  "ykut.zip" is the converted .fp file (version 5.5).  "yut.zip" is the converted instrument driver.

  • GPIB driver for NEC omniace RA1100

    Hello,
I want to control a NEC datalogger omniace II RA1100 via GPIB. Does anybody know where I can get the LabView driver for this instrument?
I didn't find them neither on ni.com nor at the NEC website.
    Many thanks in advance,
                                 Magnus

    Hallo Jens,

  • 2.2 GPIB driver for Solaris doesn't work with Sol. 2.3 tester

Upgraded to 2.2 GPIB driver to fix issue of driver being lost on Sun Ultra60's at shutdown and reboot. The driver works fine with 10 of the 11 tester platforms we use. This tester is a Genesis III running Solaris 2.3. The program will run successfully, but when shutdown and re-started, the drivers are not there and must be re-installed. What to do? Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion to check privileges, but that's the problem--the driver is not present to have any privileges to check. On reboot, there are only links (all owned by root with 777 perm.) at /dev which lead to non-existent directories.
    #/dev> ls -l gpib*
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root other 43 Apr 18 09:50 gpib -> ../devices/pci@1f,4000/NATI,pci-gpib@2:gpib
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root other 44 Apr 18 09:50 gpib0 -> ../devices/pci@1f,4000/NATI,pci-gpib@2:gpib0
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root other 44 Apr 18 09:50 gpib1 -> ../devices/pci@1f,4000/NATI,pci-gpib@4:gpib1
If you try to use these links to go to these dirs, there're not there. Also, ibconf shows no gpib devices loaded.
Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey Ron,
I am sorry that National Instruments doesn't have an instrument driver for the SD380. What I would recommend is finding a copy of the user manual for this device and then try to create your own instrument driver for this device. If you are using one of NI's GPIB controllers and LabVIEW it is really easy. You will need to create VIs (functions) for specific tasks and these functions will be made up of commands or strings that are sent across the GPIB bus.
Here is a tutorial on instrument drivers that is very helpful.

  • Has anybody got Labview GPIB driver for a Time Electronics 5021 Calibrator

    Windows NT and 2000 platforms.
Time electronics ltd multifunction claibrator model no 5021 or model no 9821

    Hi,
National Instruments' Instrument driver library is at:
    www.ni.com/idnet.
I did a search and couldn't find an instrument driver for this instrument.
You can contact the instrument manufacturer to see if they have a LabVIEW instrument driver.
Other options are contacting an alliance member to develop the instrument driver or you can do the development yourself. Here's a tutorial on writing instrument drivers in LabVIEW:

The Agilent 8163, 8164 and 8166 uses the same driver and they come with the mainframe. If you didn't get the driver with the mainframe, call Agilent's T&M support and ask them to email it to you.
