HPE-310t BIOS not finding 3TB drive

I have an HPE-310T Pavillion with a bad drive.  Thought I'd upgrade to a 3TB drive (3TB 7,200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive), but the BIOS is not recognizing anything but 750GB.  I don't see any BIOS updates anywhere on the support website.  Ideas, suggestions?

  • Windows Could not find the Driver for your Apple iPod USB Device (5G 30GB)

    I have a 8GB iPod Nano. My roommate has a 30GB 5G Video. Black.
My iPod syncs flawlessly. His is not recognized by Windows or iTunes. Every time we plug in the iPod, it prompts us for the driver. I tried to install the update apple mentions through the windows process, but after going through the tedious Windows Genuine Verification process, I was told that the update didn't apply to my computer.
We use a Lenovo Thinkpad T60p, which shipped with Windows Vista Business.
We are running iTunes 7.3.1.3, and there are no windows updates available for the computer.
    I have...
    ...reset
...reinstalled 7.3.1.3 (over and over and over)
...tried different USB ports. (Early on, we saw it once after swapping ports).
...tried turning off the ability of the computer to 'Turn this device off to save power."
I have also verified that the iPod works on my work Dell Lattitude D620 running XP, and that it's not the cord, as we've used the cord that came with my Nano as well.
So, the problem seems to be with vista, as many people seem to have had. The best thread I found that deals with this was http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=995793.
But even after having tried everything, I still have an unrecognizable iPod.
When I run iPod diagonostics, everything seems okay, except for the iPod connection, which says failed. I've had difficulty working with the iPod service under Computer/Device Manager - it doesn't ever seem to stop or start, with the iPod plugged in or not.
And interestingly enough, the FAT32 external harddrive that I use to back up my data exhibits exactly the same problem ("Windows could not find the driver for your USB Mass Storage Device). This device worked great in XP, and even odder, I have a FAT32 partition of the main HD as a swap space between my VistaOS and my Ubuntu installation.
Do I have to chalk this up to another issue with Windows Vista? What bothers me there is that you're a ping-pong between windows support and apple support - no one really owns up the problem.

Bill, I've been stuck in this loop for 3 months since buying a new laptop with Vista Basic. I've tried everything to no avail. I don't know what else to do apart from buying a cheap PC running XP. Let me know if you manage to find a solution and I'll do the same.

  • I have a compaq 6200 pro i can not find the driver for SM bus controller.

I down graded the 6200 pro with the i3 chip  to winXP and now I can not find the driver for the SM bus controller does this system have a sm bus controller?

Hi: Please click on the device in the device manager. Then click on the details tab. Post the top string of characters you see. Those will identify the type and model of the missing device and I can send you the link to the drivers. It is either your AMT driver, TPM driver or IMEI driver. In the meantime, install the chipset driver and reboot if you have not done so already. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=5037900&prodNameId=5037902&swEnvOID=1093&swLang=13&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=vc-88640-1 Paul

  • Bios not recognizing flash driver

    Lenovo G5030
    excuse me guys
i have problem when i enter to Bios setup to change settings inside I was not find usb drivers to change it
and I want installing windows and there are problem about it
please any one can help me in that

Hook the hdd up to the same cable as the optical drive. If you are seeing the drive in a raid screen and it is hooked to an ide port, it has to be on the via controller. If you leave it on the ide1 channel then you don't need any drivers. If you want to put it on ide2 or ide3 then you are going to have to use the F6 option when installing windows to install the via drivers.

  • After Sleep, Moutain Lion will not find Network Drives

    Hi all,
I've upgraded to Mountain Lion on my Late 2011 MacBook Pro 13 and all was well until I've noticed that after sleeping my MacBook will not find any network drives. I only noticed this since TimeMachine came up with an error that it cannot backup due to not being able to find the device on the network, my ReadyNAS Ultra 4 was powered on and TimeMachine backed up to it less than an hour before?
I've tried an Alt Rt Click on Finder to Relaunch Finder but still my MacBook will not find any network drives until I reboot, or switch off WiFi and then turn it back on?
Has anybody else come across this since the upgrade to Moutain Lion?
My MacBook Pro is fully up to date and TimeMachine works well if the MacBook doesn't sleep?
    Many thanks in advance, Jon.

Surely it's not just me that is experiencing these issues? The latest update mentioned some networked drives but still i'm experiencing the same issues after sleep. If I reboot fine, but not after sleep?
    Can anybody help??
    Jon.

  • [SOLVED] BIOS not detecting USB Drives after i installed Arch

SOLVED: In BIOS under 'Advanced' disable 'Fast BIOS Mode'.
    Original post:
    Hi there!
I'm fairly new to the arch (and linux) scene and just setup my Samsung 530U3B with a brand new installation of arch. Everything went fine and the system is running flawlessly. Almost.
I just happend to notice that BIOS is not checking for USB drives anymore, it just somehow skips that part. If enter the boot selection, the bootable USB drive won't show up. Neither does it show up in BIOS setup. I tried to boot with the same USB drive that i used to install arch just yesterday, the live media does not boot - the drive doesn't even blink. The boot priority is set to usb drive first, the boot selection screen (hammering f10 during boot) doesn't give me any other option than to boot from the normal SSD. Also, prior to the arch installation (came with w7 installed) the BIOS screen would stay for about 2seconds and then proceed to boot - this doesn't happen anymore. When i press the power button greeted by the grub bootloader in about 1s.
I tried 2 different usb drives, both with the arch iso (same that i used to install the currently running OS, downloaded yesterday). The drives also show up once my arch is booted (starting to blink just after i hit enter in grub). Also, both drives boot without a problem on my desktop computer.
    Anyone got any ideas?
I don't really now what kinda of information would be helpful so i'm just dumping stuff i know:
BIOS: Phoenix SecureCore Tiano Version 04XK
    Machine: Samsung 530U3B
    SSD: Samsung MZ7PC128HAFU-000
ISO used to install (checksum ok): archlinux-2012.07.15-netinstall-dual.iso

    Welcome to the forum.
If you just set the USB stick to be first in the boot order, the next option (from the list) takes its place the moment you unplug it. You need to set the BIOS to boot from your equivalent of "Removable Devices" first, "Internal Drives" second and "Optical Drives" third.
The USB stick doesn't show up at all. I set the priority as follows:
    1. USB HDD
    2. USB FDD
    3. USB CD
    4. SATA CD
    5. SATA HDD
    6. NETWORK
I used that same configuration to install arch. USB doesn't seem to initialize at all. Also, if i enter "usb" in the grub commandline, no devices are listed.
    Thanks!
    UPDATE:
I just figured it out. In my BIOS under 'Advanced' the 'Fast BIOS Mode' was enabled, once i disabled it, everything went fine. I don't remember changing that option. Silly me.
    Sorry for your time

  • Windows can not find the driver for PCI-1428

    Windows 2000 Find's the PC!-1428 Board, but it doesn't
find the Driver. IMAQ 2.51 it's all ready installed.

Loo. If you go into MAX and look under the software tab, does NI-IMAQ 2.51 show up? If so, make sure the Image Acquisition VIs are available in LabVIEW (or make sure the library files are available in your programming environment). If the VIs don't appear, or if the software isn't in MAX, then you probably have a dirty installation. To clean it up, make sure NI-IMAQ is totally uninstalled and that the NI-IMAQ folder is empty.
If everything appears to be normal in software, but the 1428 card still doesn't install, then the card may be bad. The best way to test this is to install the board on another computer. If it works on one computer but not the other, then it's definately a software problem.

  • TM Not Finding Backup Drives

I have a LaCie 320 GB disk connected via a home network on another computer (PowerbookG4). It appears in "Devices" and I can freely access it, but TM does not find it. Is there anything I can do, or do I have to plug in the drive directly? Thanks

Is there any work-around or alternative to the local disk requirement? Just bought a TB NAS drive. It's always on the network and available, so why can't I use it?

  • K9N2 Bios not displaying BD drive on sata

I get this annoying problem from time to time. My computer will freeze forcing me to warm boot. during the reboot process it hangs at the animation screen for a long time before continuing on to vista desktop. Sometime I have to move the mouse to make the animation move again other times I had to remove my USB Saitek X45. I looked in the BioS to see if i had something set wrong because I noticed a post boot there was no listing for my BD drive as being detected although it shows up in vista. I updated the bios but this still happens.

no it only came with the utility CDs for writing media to disk that i could see i am currently searching lite-on site for a firmware update if available. god i hope it is not a bad drive but i did replace cables to see. i listed only the blu-ray drive but in actually it seems to stem from several different things from usb to god knows what else. i have read somewhere about logitech mice sometimes cause freezing at boot screen since it does sometimes start moving again if i move the mouse. so in all i have no idea what causes this. the drive is on sataII 4 and usually shows up just strange that vista is seeing it and it works normally until it freezes from either when i leave it on for a long time and take it out of selection screen when the screensaver is on. starting to think i just put together a nightmare.

  • Bios not finding my hard drives!?

Just bought this motherboard (k7n2), i have an athlon xp 2800 and two hard drives, one wd se 80 gig and a seagate barracuda 40 gig.  Is there a jumper setting or bios setting i've missed, everything is on auto and i have tried resetting the cmos but it hasn't worked.. could i have a bad board?

If a ide port is defect u can go back to the shop and get a new board even if the warranty as run out. If they say u have to go via manufacturer say u called them and they said go back to place u bought it. Failing that contact the manufacturer for the board and they will replace it.
The shop though by law must replace defect products if it's a defect due to faulty equipment and not damage u have caused yourself. The warranty is not 15 days and thats it.

  • RT USB Format suddenly not finding Hard Drive

For a remote desktop RT PC running LabVIEW RT 8.6, I had tested 8 different motherboards in an attempt to get LabVIEW Real-Time
(Pharlap) to recognize an RT desktop’s SATA hard-drive and network card.  We had
finally found a single motherboard that allowed LabVIEW Real-time to recognize
and format the SATA hard drive to run pharlap.
    Unfortunately, that ASUS motherboard
has been discontinued, so we had to hunt once again for motherboards
that would run correctly with LabVIEW Real-Time.  After some effort, we did find
another motherboard which allowed the USB format utility to format the SATA
drive and successfully boot the RT pharlap environment.  Upon this success, our
company proceeded to order a large number of these new motherboards in case they
too became discontinued.  However, the very same motherboard which operated
correctly 2 weeks ago can no longer see the SATA hard drive through LabVIEW
real-time, even though the BIOS correctly recognizes the hard
    drive.
    I find it particularly bizarre
because the hard drive does actually boot to LabVIEW Real-time on its own, but
upon booting via the hard drive, Pharlap states “Error booting hard drive
program,” and proceeds to run in safe mode *on the very same hard drive*.  Any attempts
to reformat this drive via the 8.5.1 or 8.6 usb utility now result in “Unable to
detect ATA/SATA hard drive” even though the very same usb, hard drive, and
motherboard worked correctly in re-formatting, installing, and running remote VIs 2 weeks ago.
If you could please provide any
insight into this madness, it would be greatly appreciated.  For reference, we
had previously used the ASUS P5K motherboard (which is now discontinued) and are
now experiencing our mixed success/failure on the Foxconn G33M motherboard. Both
of these motherboards use the ICH9 chipset that is AHCI and IDE compatibility
capable, which is a requirement for desktop RTs.

I've tried multiple hard drives that were full formatted to FAT16 and FAT32 in Windows XP and got the same result.
During the two week period, the motherboard had been removed from its case and sat on my desk with anti-static covers draped over and under it.  I've been trying the motherboard without a case ever since, as that would confound issues further.
To make matters worse, I've been trying new motherboards with the ICH10 and ICH10R southbridge chipsets (AHCI and legacy IDE compatible), and the USB format utility freezes at "Transferring control to user program," so I can't even get to attempting a hard drive format there.  I've tried changing the USB settings to Legacy as suggested in the NI literature and even unplugging the hard drives entirely, as the other motherboard still boots to the USB without a hard drive present, and it still hangs at the same place before the utility loads.
I've gone through every possible iteration of BIOS settings (especially the IDE ones) on every motherboard I've tried.  Ever since the ICH8 chipset, I've never managed to get an actual PATA (IDE) drive to work either.
Here is a list of motherboards we've tried that didn't work due to either the USB utility hanging or the hard drive not being seen:
    Intel DG33BU
    TYAN S5220AG2NR
    ASUS P5E-VM DO
    ASUS P5N-MX
    ABIT IP35 Pro
    SuperMicro C2SBA
    ASUS P5Q
    MSI P45 Neo
The ASUS P5K worked but is discontinued, and the Foxconn G33M is the one that worked 2 weeks ago but doesn't now.

  • Bios wont find SATA-drives

    Hi there!
Tried to install some new harddrives in my old HP Pavillion D4000 but when I tried to install an operating system the disk couldnt be found/loaded (win 7 install). Checked the bios and the drives didnt show up there either wich leads to my visit here.
How can I solve this problem? Do I need to upgrade my BIOS or can I just enable SATA somehow? Couldnt find any option for it.
    Thanks, Martin.

    Hi Ruth,

  • 875pneo bios not recognising optical drives anymore ?

    Hi all,
I have just swapped my sata drives for 2 new ide drives, only 1 ide drive is installed at the moment after a quick swap over with ghost. Everything seemed ok until I realised my 2 cd / dvd drives are no longer present in my computer ?
I have the new ide drive on channel 1 and the 2 cd drives as master and slave on channel 2 but the bios does not see them, I have just tried channel 3 and still the same. I altered the integrated peripherals setting from sata to pata and still no luck, am I right in saying that I should now have sata disabled and set it to pata only on both ?
Cant think why this is happening unless its to do with some old promise drivers hanging about.
    Any ideas would be great.

hehe... probably in the first config you have some lose cable somewhere

  • Imac not finding external drive after reinstall

    Hi there
I have recently downgraded from Mavericks to Mountain Lion.  I have had an external hard drive running time machine since I got my imac.
When I downgraded it found the drive but it did refuse to restore any of the backups.  (Which were all done on Mountain Lion as I had not backed up on Maverick) I had to repeat the install process due to another issue and when I tried to remount the drives it could only find two.
Now this drive has worked perfectly for Snow Leopard, Mountain Lion and on Maverick as I upgraded to each.
It runs on the firewire port. Swapping the port is not an option as the drive doesnt have a USB slot and I dont have a free USB port or a hub.
I have 3 in total 2 WD and one LaCie. The original one which my imac wont find is a WD.
Any suggestions would be appreciated as I dont want to reload anything onto my machine incase I have to try erasing and reinstalling again.

i'm using a 1,5 TB WD external hd and 2 others with 320 GB and 160 GB ... formatted on NTFS and it doesn't  mount. it shows up at disk utility but i can't mount it ... and i have all of my life in there
