HPtx2500 and the creative X-Fi Notebook SB0950 34mm Audio Card

I have an HP TX2500, touchscreen tablet (AMD dual core Turion 2.0mhz, 3 gb ram) and it has the AC97 Realtek Audio installed onboard. I need two separate outputs, one for an amplifier and the other for headphones and I don't care how I get it as long as it works. The AC97 does not seem to want to operate in a mode producing separate assignable output stereo channels, hence the reason for the Creative X-Fi Notebook card model SB0950. The Creative card seems however to be in contention with "something" in the tablet or in the Windows 7 OS. I have tried all of the available drivers on the Creative website and all I get is popping and clicking out of the X-Fi card. I've looked for X-Fi drivers on the HP website but the search produces 81238 nonspecific results and all I get is the X-Fi in desktops, not laptops, notebooks or tablets. I have deleted all of the audio drivers and then reinstalled them in different orders, same problem. I've tried adjusting processor performance, video performance, etc. nothing helps. Funny thing, when the tablet starts up, is going into login and the X-Fi is set as the default, it briefly works, hence the reason I believe it is some kind of driver contention.
Any clues out there, this thing is driving me nuts!

    Hello All
    To any Adobe Employee who may read this, can you please get someone at Adobe to take control of this issue and see that the library, templates and all other functional content gets packaged correctly and enabled as a download and "sub-install" for the parent product inside the Adobe Application Manager.
    I think as subscribing users we should get better service and direction from Adobe in regards to this functional content. As I type this I have more than 10 tabs open, each one leading to a thread that has something to do with how to install and fix a problem with the Functional Content for After Effects, Premiere Pro and Encore.

    I have been very reluctant to do anything because I am reading a lot of conflicting and incomplete information. This link in particular, http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/library-functional-content-missing.html, is really unhelpful because there are 3 methods to do something but reading it I am not sure if each method does the same thing or if each does one part of the 3 sets of missing Functional Content. Additionally "solution" 3 presents a place to put the content but then leaves out the path we are to do it to.
    Most disappointing is the fact that the first "solution" did not get me the menu buttons I am looking for in Encore and I don't know if I screwed up or if the install was incomplete for some reason.
    Do I now need to install one of the other "solutions"? Those of you in the community that are about to hit reply, please don't. Do not answer that question.
    Here is why...
    Adobe is responsible for delivering us customers a product. It is Adobe's responsibility to fix the mess that a number of paying customers are having regarding this Functional Content.
    TO ADOBE:
    Here is what I and I think a lot of other subscribers want you to do:
    You already have a Solution in place. One that doesn't require a lot of user intervention and doesn't require anyone to pick a "solution" and screw it up, search for more help and spend hours of their time fixing a mess.
    Adobe Application Manager. Create the proper installation packages. Put them on the servers, tell the AAM how to clean up the mess any users who have tried these "solutions" have made. Then have it install the proper packages as a "Sub-Installation" for each of the parent software that it is for.
    This solution will not only make things better for us end users, but you will also make the manageability of the Functional Content easier for your teams as well. And if your teams wanted to add additional Functional Content to any program that is part of the creative cloud or that the Adobe Application Manager manages, then it would be a simple matter of creating an installation package and adding it to the AAM's list of installable programs.
    You just did this exact thing with Lightroom 4.1! Why can you not do this for the Functional Content?!?
    Back to the Community Members that want to answer my post. Don't. Instead if you agree with me or even if you don't, sign off on this thread or indicate your virtual thumbs down. Either way I don't want an answer, I want an action from Adobe, the only ones who can fix the mess.
    I really believe that the Application Manager is the most elegant solution. If any of you have ever used Steam, you know what a great feeling it is when you can download a game demo, try it, buy it and just have everything take care of itself. I don't even have to worry about updates; Steam takes care of my games. And the thing that makes it really valuable? I DON'T PAY $50 A MONTH TO USE STEAM AND HAVE IT JUST WORK, IT IS FREE!
    All I want at this point is Functional Content that I don't have to read a 50+ page manual to install. I know that is an exaggeration, but honestly if it is 1 badly written set of instructions or 50 what does it matter? I don't pay Adobe so I can read up on how to install their software; I just want to use it.
    I guess I should also point out that this is now the second large hold up to my project that I started subscribing for. The first was a problem that I again had to figure out the solution to by working around it, when again Adobe seems to be unable to correct the problem, here, here, here and here.
    And now here I am again at a slight stand still because I can't use my DVD authoring software to create a button on a Wedding DVD menu.
    Okay, you can go ahead and reply... but I would still prefer no answers, just /agree or /disagree.

    Have you read the page in your link?

    Honestly I must appologize for my brashness and sarcastic attitude. I find it questionable to expect the paid subscribing creative but not technically inclined customers to do the work of fixing this problem when Adobe has the means and the tools to fix it for us.

    Ok. Fair enough, I will admit that last night in my anger and frustration I was being a little childish.
    But as a Community Professional don't you believe that you would be better served by Adobe if they were to make one easy simple Adobe Application Manager download for the content that should have been published right at the launch of the new version? Wouldn't your time be better spent actually working on your projects rather than fixing Adobe's mess and responding to people in 10 different forums trying to help them?
    All of this also makes me wonder how Adobe prioitizes the "bugs" that people are dealing with. Wouldn't it be quick to put a someone or a couple of people on the problem of gathering the functional content and getting them to package it and ready it for publishing through the AAM? The process of adding it to the list of installs might be more complicated but a package that knows where to put the content? I would think that something like this could be give a get it done now priority as it would aleviate a lot of the forum posts and something like the missing export choices in Media Encoder or Premiere Multicamera Issues would take more time due to investigation and so you put them on a priority based on the number of users affected.
    It just seems to me that a month after launching a new version is an awfull long time for the publishing of an update to add functional content that was in all the previous versions.
    I guess I will stop "ranting" now. Thanks for responding Jeff AW, at least I have official word that there will be some sort of update on this issue.

  • Zen Mozaic and the Creative software

    $ I really really like this MP3 player...for the most part but I must say documentaion on the software and the player itself really really sucks. I can see why people buy Apple I Pods. The extra money for an Apple unit makes up for the agravation of dealing with the Creative software. I showed my Zen to a friend and he was impressed but asked about the software. Was it user friendly? Was it easy to find your way around problems? I could not lie. He bought an I Pod.

Consider this can the Ipod user come to your house & load a few songs that you have in your library or another Ipod users music library? The answer is :smileytongue:NO!! Better than that will theirs work right out the box with Windows Media Player? :smileytongue:NO!!

  • My USB CF Card reader is not mounting on my 2.5 GHZ Intel Core i5 iMac anymore. It was last week and worked fine to get pictures from my camera. Now it won't mount. I have tried another card reader and the same problem exists. Also tried different cards..

    My USB CF (Compact Flash) Card reader is not mounting on my 2.5 GHZ Intel Core i5 iMac anymore.
    Last week it worked fine to get pictures from my camera but now it won't mount at all.
    I ejected it in the correct way rather than just disconnecting it but now i cannot get it to remount!
    I cannot even see it in the disk utility or system profiler.
    I have tried another card reader (a brand new one bought today) and the same problem exists. I've also tried different cards to see if that made a difference and they still arent being picked up on the Mac. 
    I have done all the usual things like rebooting, unplugging all other USB devices and then trying but nothing has worked.
    I'm a photographer and I'm at my wits end here. I know the cards are fine as i have been using them without issue and they are also new.
    Note: If I plug the camera in directly to the Mac, the Mac picks it up just fine as it always has done. Its just the card readers that it wont pick up anymore.
    If anyone has any ideas at all other than the following (my so called friends advice) you'd earn my undting love:
    Buy a PC
    Use the camera (Thats why i bought the reader in the first place - importing RAW files from the camera is SLOW!)
    Replace your CF cards (I have three 8GB cards two of which i had never used til today and they dont work either!)
    Buy a new card reader (this is the 5th one in two days - none work on the Mac)

    OK, restart in Safe Mode, this will clear some caches. It's possible one or more is corrupt. To restart in Safe Mode when you hear the start up tone hold down the Shift Key until you see a progress bar. Let it fully boot then restart normally and test.
    Also I am assuming you have checked Finder - Preferences  - General and see what boxes are checked in "Show these items on desktop." You can also mount an item in Disk Utility, simply highlight it and then look in the File menu for Mount.....

  • Smart Volume Management and the Creative Zen To

    In Creative MediaSource Organizer, under the Tools menu, there is an option to analyze the volume of all tracks in the library. I have not run this analysis yet. Two questions:
    .) Will this process alter the MP3s on my hard disk, or just alter how the music is played in MediaSource?
    2. Will this process actually normalize the volume of all the tracks on my Zen Touch? (This would be awesome, no more fiddling around with the volume control during random play.)

    . No, it won't alter the music.
    2. Yes, but you'll have to copy the analysed tracks to the Zen afterwards (you can't analyse on the Zen itself). Also the value of doing it is questionable in terms of actual effect, so you might want to test it first to see what you think.

    We are all just fellow users here and so cannot do anything to resolve your problem. You are not communicating with Apple when you post here.
    The first thing you should do is to go into the Restrictions area of the General settings, turn off "In-App Purchases" and perhaps "iTunes", "Installing Apps" and "Deleting Apps". Then if your daughter plays with your iPhone, she can't purchase anything without your authorization.
    As to the existing purchases, since these were legitimate purchases as far as the iTunes Store is concerned, there may be nothing that can be done (the iTunes Store terms of sale state that all sales are final) but you can ask. Go here:

    and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.

  • I pre-ordered Paramore's new album one day and the next day I received a $15 gift card for itunes and I redeemed it. My question is now that I have redeemed it will itunes take the price of the preordered album from my $15 or from my debit card?

    If not how can I make that happen? The Paramore pre-order is $9.99 and I want itunes to take the money from the gift card and not my bank account. The charge won't happen until the 9th, when it is released.

    I'm kind of running into the same problem with a TV season I bought. I have watched the first 4 episodes just fine but now a new episode is available and it wants me to pay for it. Even though I have already paid for it when I bought the complete season.
    I think they are mucking around in the servers and causing this issue. I have reported the problem through iTunes and I hope they get it fixed soon.

    Lets say this I love the product! HATE THE PRODUCT AS WELL....st thing is this Used the original cd to install my audigy 2zs with the original creative mediasource.. All ok... boom.. windows no longer reconizes it. Ok. checked the website for product updates.. Cool dl the creative mediasource 5 and the new drivers for the audigy 2 zs and now heres where the fun begins.. AUTO UPDATE downloads the file and installs it. Now I have two different sets of creative mediasource on my computer...one orignal creative mediasource and the creative mediasource 5. NEITHER ONE WORK ANYMORE!?. how to remove both of them and start fresh with the 5. Cant use the uninstaller becuse the setup.exe file is missing.or how to remove the old version that comes up in my tray with an icon.. Has to be able to regedit and delete or something.. YOu devs knock your heads together and find me a f-n solution...

  • Few Questions on the Creative Cloud

    I have read that the Creative Cloud Connection will be released within the next few weeks which is great. I have a few questions about file uploading and the Creative Cloud Connection program.
    I have a folder which I will upload. The contents of that folder will be updated periodically locally. I want to the files in that folder to stay up to date between my desktop and laptop. Will the Creative Cloud Connection program be able to do that?
    If a file is changed that is already in the cloud will the program recognize the change and keep the cloud up-to-date?
    I guess a little more information about exactly what the Creative Cloud Connection program will do would be nice.
    On the topic of storage will I be able to upgrade from the standard 20 gb of storage that is available when/if needed? And how much will that be?
    One other question:
    When will Lightroom 4 be available via CC and why is it not available since it has been released?

    Creative Cloud Connection will keep files between your desktop and the website in sync. You will be able to add, edit and delete files from either end and see the changes reflected in both.

  • I can't open the creative cloud.

    So, the adobe updater said their was an update available, and i tried to install it and the creative cloud opens, but it just stays on the loading screen and nothing happens. Then i try to open the creative cloud program it opens then shuts off. I can't access the creative cloud at all. I can get on to every other program I have but the creative cloud itself.

    In the future you may want to use the uninstaller/s instead of trying to manually delete Adobe applications.

    I've got the Creative SB X-Fi? Xtreme Audio. When installing from the disk I get several errors, the main one is Error I-00 - and the install.log says:

    [Console Launcher]
    Error=I-00 C:\Program Files (x86)\Creative\Sound Blaster X-Fi\Console Launcher\ACMixer.dll not found.
    I cannot find an ACMixer.dll anywhere, not on the cd, not on the downloaded installation file, not on google.
    What can I do?

    Hi Rams,
    I don't think it is possible to do updates to the APEX_APPLICATION_FILES table. What you will need to do is create a process that selects the required information about your uploaded files, and then inserts it into a custom table inside you schema.
    Then modify your report, and form so the select and update statements run off the custom table and not the APEX_APPLICATION_FILES table.
    Its a bit of a long winded way of doing it, but there is examples in the HowTo's at the following URL:
