HR / HCM Time Logic

Hello All
I'm currently going through the HR940 book (Authorizations in SAP HR) and was hoping to gain a better understanding of time logic and the period of responsibility.
Would someone be able to explain the Time Logic concept, and how this applies to Read and Write Access?
Thanks
Nigel

Thanks Paul.
Just one more question.
In PA20, User 1 can access basic pay of 2009.08.01-2009.10.30, but can not access basic pay of 2009.11.01-2009.12.31.
And the system msg shows:"records skipped by authorization!". Which means, user 1 can still access history information about IT0008. This is reasonable.
But as for the payroll result, user 1 can NOT access any history result in payroll cluster once SY-DATUM is after tolerance day(AUTSW-ADAYS).
Is this what standard authorization designed as? I don't think it make sense anyway.
SOLVED! This is system standard behavior of PC_PAYRESULT and wage type reporter that we can not change. But for those customized reports, we can use <SAP Note 82144> to achieve what I want. Thanks anyway!

  • Does Cloud HCM time and attendance allow tracking by state?

Does Cloud HCM time and attendance allow tracking by state to enable proper payroll withholding for state taxes?
Tracking time working each state you work in and having the wages properly withheld in payroll.  The time system has to be able to capture and process tie in different states and pass it along. Payroll system then has to process multi-state taxes and withhold properly to ensure compliance.
Does Oracle Fusion Time and Labor can or can’t support this?

I ended up creating a second object tracker (102 in the below example) that tracks the first object (2 in the below example) such that it is only up when the other is down.  This way only one of the 2 object can ever be up at one time and you can trigger the eem applets based on this.  Have been using this for several years in a fielded system no issues.

  • Logic Pro X - Record in time - Logic moves audio automatically out of time

I have a mac book pro
    OSX Version 10.8.4
2.3 Ghz intel core i5 processor
    8 GB memory 1333 MHz DDR3
Latest version of Logic Pro x
When I record an audio track using the mac book pros built in microphone, I sing or play an acoustic part in time (yes in time, I'm not dodgy time-wise!)
But when I play back the audio, Logic has shifted the audio file to be out of time by some way, from the click
    - it also does this when I connect up my mbox 2
    any ideas anyone?

Sounds like you are not monitoring through your soundcard or logic and the latency of your audiobox/soundcard is placing the recording too late. Try to reduce the buffer to 256 or 128 in your mbox mix display, and use software monitoring if you can.

I have quite a few crashes with Logic Pro, everytime I run Preferential Treatment to find corrupted prefs it always comes back with these.
are they even to do with Logic Pro? are they some idiot retailers cookies or similar?

  • Debug an applet that has a run-time (logic) error how?

    hi,
I have an applet that has a non-terminating loop in it...I found it after eye-balling my code.
How would one debug an applet? I have bought sooooo many books on java, & NONE provide/identify a process for debugging applets. I use JTextPad & would appreciate a method i can use to debug applets....ppppllleezzzz

TheStijn is correct about stepping thru code - you'd need a development environment. However, the better of these for use in a commercial environment are usually expensive (>$1000). The free ones are not so good (although given that WSAD is based on Eclipse and I think WSAD is pretty good, maybe you could go for Eclipse). They also take some time to get to grips with.
You could instead litter your code with System.out.println() statements to see what it is doing. These can be viewed from the browser's Java console. On IE, you enable the console by doing Tools > Internet Options > Advanced. Scroll down to "Microsoft VM" and select "Java Console enabled". Then the console is visible (after re-starting IE) from the View menu (at the bottom).
With Netscape (4.7), you do Communicator > Tools > Java Console. You can also view it on other browsers thru similar mechanisms. Hope this helps in the short-term.

Given below is a sample (javascript):
    if ( xfa.host.version < 9) { //handles 8.x.x and previous
        event.target.dirty = true;
    ie
During the initialization of a PDF form, Since 'dirtyState' is a
property of Reader, and when we open a PDF form, reader would set that
property as "false" automatically. That's why the dirty state could not
be changed to true in some event (like, initialize or Form:readey).
Inorder to set the dirty state to ture, we need to set it after the
initialization of the PDF form. Otherwise, the dirty state would be set
as false during the initialization by default.
The solution would be that they could try this script :
    ContainerFoundation_JS.setGlobalValue(event.target, "saveDirtyState",
    true);
SaveDirtyState is a property used by ZCI code to judge if a PDF form is

    201003210445 430
I have to add minutes column values to date1 from the 9 digits onwards. because date1 having date and time values like 201103010559 here 0559 is the time. Here in my table date1 is the varchar2 & minutes column is number datatype. finally I have to load date1 values into another table column like enddate. enddate data type is date.
Please help me in this regard..!!

  • View more than one audio instrument midi window at same time Logic 7

    Hello,
Is it possible to open up more than one audio inst midi window at the same time?
It would save me so much time if I could view what is going on ie on the guitar & piano tracks on 2 separate tracks at the same time.
I know it is possible to double click on the grid of an audio inst midi window to view all midi in one song at the same time but because I have a lot of audio insts in my songs it gets really confusing. It would be ideal if I could pick and choose specifically which audio inst tracks are displayed within the same window when doing the double click thing or be able to view 2 tracks at once.
    Thanks in advance.

Are you refering on how to be able to view the Matrix Editor/Piano roll of 2 Audio instrument tracks in one window?

  • Time Logic of HR Authorization !!!!

    Hi Gurus,
    My senario is as below.
    An employee 1000 who's information is :
    2009.08.01-2009.10.30  personal area (IT0001) = PA01 basic pay (0008) = 1000
    2009.11.01-2009.12.31  personal area (IT0001) = PA02 basic pay (0008) = 1000
    Authorization is:
    USER A - personal area PA01 granted, IT0001/ IT0008 granted
    USER B - personal area PA02 granted, IT0001/ IT0008 granted
    Query date (sy-datum) is 2010.01.01
    Symptom:
User A can NOT see any  payroll result of employee 1000 with PC_PAYRESULT.
User B can see all of the payroll result from 2009.08 to 2009.12 with PC_PAYRESULT.
I think user A should be able to see 2009/08-2009/10 payroll result. How to make it happen?
    Thanks!

  • Sap hcm-time management

    Hi,
If a employee taken a leave for a week ... but he called for one day for urgent work...but consider as absent
How to show in sap hr?  Please help!!!!

    Hi Srinivas
You cant show the employee as absent and working both. If you want the system to consider him absent itself then you dont need to do anything as he already has the leave record for the week. But if you want to show him working then you will have to remove absence and maintain attendance for that day.

  • 3 times dead logic board and now you are on your own.

My G5 is dead for the 3rd time.
1st time it was fixed at CompUSA. They told me that the logic board was under recall and they fixed it. They told me that they had seen a bunch of these. OK.
2nd time logic board. they open it at apple and say, yup popped capacitors. I call apple to complain, they say you are covered.
3rd time logic board, AGAIN. they will fix it this time.... AND YOU WILL ONLY BE COVER FOR 90DAYS AFTER THIS, IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY NOW.
When you buy a computer that has a know problem and you let them try to correct it, is this how you should be treated? Has any one else been treated like this?
    what should I do?

    Hi S SQUAT-
Greetings and welcome to the Apple Discussion boards
Miriam offers sage advice. Contact Apple at the number provided and firmly yet politely state your case.
You may also want to research your local consumer protection laws. Often manufacturer's are given three tries to fix the same problem then must provide you with another solution in either a refund or a replacement unit.
On a related note, I have never been impressed with Apple service as provided by CompUSA. Apple will always try to point you to the nearest facility but you do have the option to choose another service provider.

  • Logic Remote for iPad freezes on Smart Help

Mine just endlessly displays "Preparing Help Content Download" when I select smart help and nothing happens. Anyone else have this or have a fix?
    Thanks

Mine just says that Smart Help couldn't be downloaded, but it will happen next time Logic Remote is launched....which never happens.
I've still never seen Smart Help. Sorry no fix, but I'd suggest you report this to Apple:

  • Logic 8 crashes everytime I use it more than 10 minutes, please help

Hi, I am new on this forum, so hi everyone.
I just bought these 3 items:
    1) new mac Pro 8-core that it comes with Leopard 10.5
    2) new Logic 8 pro studio
    3) new digi 003 rack
I instaled the protools 7.3 software and the problems began! I got an error window saying that I had some missing extensions or somethin like that, later A safary window appeared saying to instal some interlock extensions, I did install it, after finishing the instalation I tryied to launch protools but the hardware was not found. I went to digidesign website and realized about the incompatibility between leopard and protools, so I uninstalled the protools software and desconected the digi 003 from my computer and uninstalled the interlock extensions.
    ok so far...
After all this I decided to instal Logic 8 pro (I never used Logic before, alwyas work with protools) so I could start to familiarize with the program, but after working a little bit with it, Logic crashed, so I launched it again and the same thing happened to me. I had this problem about 6 times in two days!
So I verifyied disck permissions and I got a lot of errors going on; "Something in system/library/usertemplates etc...was unexpected and it should be whatever..." these kind of errors, about 30 in total. By the way, I have an small prohibbited icon over the "USERTEMPLATES" folder. after all this I click on repair disck permissions but nothing was repaired, every error showed again after running once more the verifying thing! so I launched logic praying to be able to work more than an hour but... logic crashed three times in a row in less than 1 hour work. So I decided to kill the people from the store! no, seriously, I reinstalled the Leopard on my computer with an erase and install from the original dvd. Notice that every time logic crashed I was doing something diferent, it crashed once while opening an instrument, other while doing time streching in factory, other just at the begining etc...
    After instaling today again leopard and logic 8 with all the updates from apple/software update (mac os 10.5.2, logic 8.0.1) I still have the same problems;
-Logic crash very often whatever you are working on
    -Disk permissions problems:
    Verificando permisos de “INTERNO1”

And I still have that extrange little icon over User Templates folder on "System/Library/UserTemplates"
I don't have installed any other program else on my computer than logic and leopard! I don't know what the "h.." is going on with this "f.." logic program!
SO PLEASE IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO SOLVE THIS OR ANY KIND OF HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!
    THANK YOU.
Sorry about the length of the post and my english.

Thanks a lot for your response Scott, I really appreciate it.
I have downloaded the 7.4 protools, but not installed because the 7.3 software cause instalations errors on the computer and the digi is not recognized.
Anyway I wanted to start familiarizing with Logic 8. I thought because Logic and Mac are from Apple they would be totally compatible...and of course they are not!
In other hands I spent 6,300 dollards in new equipment to avoid this kind of problems...but at the end you get all the same traubles whatever you buy or not (crack) the things...so.
Anyway, now my computer it seem to be damage... the fan never stop and I am geting some wierd icons over some folders (stop icons) so...
By the way, I bought everything in SweetWater if anyone wants to know, and so far they seems to be only available to put their hands to get the money but they are always too bussy to help and solve all this crap they did to me.
I bought logic studio, mac pro 8-core 3.0 and digi 003 to them...any of these are working!!! nice!!! and after one waste month they didn't give me any other solution besides to wait and wait and wait days and days in order to talk to any of the technicians...It seems their technicians only have time to ensembly equipment to sell it as soon as they can...nice!!!

  • What is wrong with logics timing and playback and midi

    hi all,
i recently bought logic x and there seems to be a lot of problems im having.  first off i noticed that when i am editing whilst looping what im working on it doesn't allways register my changes untill i stop and play again.  this is especially true when making fades.  it makes it very awkward to make changes in realtime and slows me down a lot.  is this a new feature of logic lol or is this a problem with previous logics aswell.  is anyone else having this problem and does anyone know if apple are working to fix this?  its not my computer as its hi spec 12 core.  running 10.8.5.
next problem im having is nothing short of insane.  i have my mbase 11 being triggered by midi in logic and playing through an audio channel in logic from my apogee duet.  this works fine but only when audio track is selected which is annoying.  trouble im having though is when i select another track it seems the midi for the mbase is doing something to the selected track.  either triggering extra notes or delaying and playing extra notes.  im not sure but it is mental and it means i have to open up the fx i want to edit and then deselect the track.  anyone have any ideas if this is something i can fix or if apple know ect?
thanks for reading,  any help would be most appreciated
    Rhys

Fades can't be edited in real time, Logic creates a fade file after you edited the region, then you press start and voila, it's always been like that.

  • HR Logical Database

    Hi,
Is it common to use logical database for HR report??  How about other module such as SD/MM??
    Regards,
    Kit

    Hi,
Logical databases are special ABAP programs that retrieve data and make it available to application programs. The most common use of logical databases is still to read data from database tables by linking them to executable ABAP programs.
However, from Release 4.5A, it has also been possible to call logical databases using the function module LDB_PROCESS. This allows you to call several logical databases from any ABAP program, nested in any way. It is also possible to call a logical database more than once in a program, if it has been programmed to allow this. This is particularly useful for programs with type 1.
Logical databases contain Open SQL statements that read data from the database. You do not therefore need to use SQL in your own programs. The logical database reads the program, stores them in the program if necessary, and then passes them line by line to the application program or the function module LDB_PROCESS using an interface work area.
Logical Databases - Views of Data
A logical database provides a particular view of database tables in the R/3 System. It is always worth using logical databases if the structure of the data that you want to read corresponds to a view available through a logical database.
The data structure in a logical database is hierarchical. Many tables in the R/3 System are linked to each other using foreign key relationships. Some of these dependencies form tree-like hierarchical structures. Logical databases read data from database tables that are part of these structures.
The diagram illustrates how the R/3 System might represent the structure of a company. A logical database can read the lines of these tables one after the other into an executable program in a sequence which is normally defined by the hierarchical structure. The term logical database is sometimes used to mean not only the program itself, but also the data that it can procure.
    Tasks of Logical Databases
As well as allowing you to read data from the database, logical databases also allow you to program other tasks centrally, making your application programs less complicated. They can be used for the following tasks:
Reading the same data for several programs.
The individual programs do not then need to know the exact structure of the relevant database tables (and especially not their foreign key relationships). Instead, they can rely on the logical database to read the database entries in the right order during the GET event.
Defining the same user interface for several programs.
Logical databases have a built-in selection screen. Therefore, all of the programs that use the logical database have the same user interface.
    Central authorization checks
Authorization checks for central and sensitive data can be programmed centrally in the database to prevent them from being bypassed by simple application programs.
    Improving performance
If you want to improve response times, logical databases permit you to take a number of measures to achieve this (for example, using joins instead of nested SELECT statements). These become immediately effective in all of the application programs concerned and save you from having to modify their source code
