Hr Implementation on New Branch

Hi Sap Guru's,
I m new in sap hr.
My client have Started a new branch in indore.
Branch will be go live in sap nxt week.
we need to implement the sap hr module there.
Plz. tell me the what r the things i have to take care for hr implementation.
If i make that branch as personnel subarea, am i able to run the payroll on mumbai basis?
How i will be upload the master data?
Plz. guide me.

well, there is 3-4 point which needs to be taken care while doing a implementation enhancement -
1. Enterprise and personnel structure  - that is your Company code, PA, PSA, EG and ESG. Now i would suggest you to maintain a new PA in this case as per the standad SAP-HR concept (GEographical area wil be defined by PA). But still got to check if branches at different location are seperated by PA or PSA. (1 major issue if you will define the location as PSA is defaulting of Payroll area, there will many more. So not suggested from my side atleast).
2. Pay scale structyure - here i hope you are holding the same pay sclae grade and level  etc as it is branch of existing company so as per me there will not be any change. But please note that if there is any extra allowance/ reimbursement needs to be availed for this branch then may be you need a seperate pay scale structure. Check it properly as this is 1 of major factor which may have huge impact in future
3. Payroll area - this will answer your query : is it possible to run the indore branch payroll separately?. Yes you can. Create a new payroll area and generate periods for it. Change the feature ABKRS for it accordingly. Now when you will try to assign an employee in the system for Indore, this payroll area will be applicable.
4. Statutory contribution/ deduction - this impact i have already explained you in last reply.

    If you have multiple DC's in that site i would recommend using any of the partner DC's IP addresses as preferred one and secondary DNS IP to pointing to itself. Dont use loopback addresses configure it with actual IP addresses.
    If you have only one server in branch office point itself as the primary DNS and HO DC as secondary and tertiary.
    Make sure that all clients in your branch site are pointing to the branch DC as primary DNS server.

    I want to implement a new protocol (my customized one) in solaris 8. This protocol will be something like UDP and will be using IP for communication.

    I can give you some pointers regarding this. Although, I implemented protocol below IP.
    - Look for information on ipsecah and ipsecesp. These are pseudo devices on top of IP for Solaris 8.0.
    - Check how the protocol stack is built while booting.
    - If you intend to implement a module, rather than a driver then things might be little easy. You can push your module on top of IP. See man for "sad" and "autopush" mechanism
    - Sample drivers and modules from SUN are of great
    help. I came to know about the sample drivers very late.
    Otherwise, I would have saved some time.
    - Unix System V network programming by Rago is a very good reference.

All services email, SAP, Portals are hosted in the HeadOffice Datacenter. Each Branch will have dedicated internet 5MB for Voice and DATA
    Guidelines for security  -
    ensure users cannot insert usb or cd on laptops /desktops
    laptops/desktops are allowed to access restrictive internet from Office
    Outside Laptops / Tablets not allowed to connect to network but allowed internet via wireless using Guest
    to access internet from home or Cafe users needs to connect to office VPN and then access from local Internet server (Proxy)
    vendors proposed following ;-
    3921 router for branch
    ASA 5510 for branch
    3945 router for HeadOffice ( VPN )
    Filtering - Web Washer - Mcafee
    Experts can advice what hardware will best fit on branches, what other devices I need to achieve the above goals

    I would recommend the following:
    For Branches:
    1-  Cisco : 2921 : Voice Licensed (you dont need a higher end above this series for 40 users).
    2-  Cisco ASA 5510: (This will be your Security appliance at each branch).
    For Head Quarter:
    1-  Cisco ASA 5520: (This Will be Your HQ Security Appliance).
    2-  Cisco 3925 or 3945 router (Voice Licensed).
    For Your Security Guidelines, here is my answers:
    ensure users cannot insert usb or cd on laptops /desktops
    FOr this purpose, you Can disable the administrative privelege on the Notebooks and PCs for All users and remove the software driver for thier USPs.
    laptops/desktops are allowed to access restrictive internet from Office
    FOr this Purpose, I would recommend using Cisco IronPort WebFiltering, it Can be easily Integrated with your Active Directory and Enforces all Filtering Policy you would require.
    Outside Laptops / Tablets not allowed to connect to network but allowed internet via wireless using Guest
    For this Purpose, I would recommend deploying Wireless LAN Controller at your HQ to have benefit and full advantage of managing your Wireless Infrastructure.

    FOr this Purpose , I would also say Your Best Option is to have Remote Access VPN & (VPN Client) deployed at all employee's Notebook. Though, You Can have another Option which to have SSL-VPN deployed at your HQ, but this will have additional cost as its added value featured licensed per number of users.

  • New Branch Office Opening. Active Directory Options

    Hello.
    Our company has a new branch site in Canada that's been in operation for some time now. the "admin" of that branch office is wanting to setup 2 new domain controllers, i was going to suggest that we could add a Canada site via Active directory
    sites and services and configure it that way.
    he suggested that he would like the to have a separate domain name, for instance if we're contoso.co.uk, they want to be contoso.ca
    is the best option in this situation to have them setup there own domain and then just federate between them?
    i have good experience with AD but as were a small company (geographically) so i have little knowledge of multi site / federation topology.
    any suggestions would be most welcome.

    If you decide to deploy new Domain this will lead to new administrative tasks to able to support users(creating trust to support access to resources in other domain, other suit of GPOs etc.). Instead if second site is added this will be more simple solution.
    semi -solution is to have child domain which back again will lead to other admin tasks. Also Recommendation by the vendor to have simple solution.

    Holiday Calendar
    Transaction Code: SCAL
    Holiday calendar comprises of list of paid holidays to be given to employees on festivals by the company.
    Personnel Area/SubArea Groupings
    Go to SPRO --> Time Management --->Work Schedules --> Personnel SubArea Groupings
    Maintain perosnnel area/Subarea groupings for work schedule.
    i.e. Suppose in Mumbai you have WS = GEN ( 10 to 6) and in Chennai you have WS = NORM ( 8 to 4 )
    Work Schedule
    Go to SPRO --> Time Management --->Work Schedules -->Daily Work Schedules
    Go to SPRO --> Time Management --->Work Schedules -->Period Work Schedules
    Daily Work Schedule is actually your office timings with breaks (paid /unpaid) i.e. Planned Working Time which is then included
    in Period Work Schedule to make a week ( M T W T F S S )
    Daily Work Schedule (i.e. Day) -
    > Period Work Schedule (i.e. Week)
    Work Schedule Rules
    Go to SPRO --> Time Management --->Work Schedules -->Work Schedule Rules and Work Schedules
    After doing above mentioned configurations,maintain employee group/subgroup groupings in which you have to define which calendar is applicable for which type of employees for which work schedule.
    You will maintain this work schedule in infotype 0007 - Planned Working Time of employee via transaction code - PA30

    By creating a simple Flash / Flex component (in which it's fairly simple to create scrolling marquees etc) you can embed it in a FlashIsland UI component
    Or maybe simpler, you could use an IWDIFrame component, in which you simply link to a HTML file showing your rolling news
    Bottom line is, by default the rolling news functionality is not possible but with a workaround and some extra effort you could get what you want

  • Implementing a new PKI Structure that supports SHA256

    My question has to do with moving away from our old PKI environment and onto a new PKI environment I am designing.
    A little background...So due to the fact that our existing PKI environment was not installed using most best practices and it only supports SHA1, I am designing a new PKI environment based on Windows Server 2012 R2.  The intention is to implement
    many of the best practices Brian Komar talks about in his book and support SHA256.  When I am done I will have two PKI hierarchies...the old SHA1 hierarchy and the new SHA256 hierarchy.  I can easily move Forest members over to using new certificates,
    but my concern is around internal Java applications.
    Assuming the Java application owners do not have a good way of distributing the new CA certificates to their client's Trusted certificates store (I apologize for my lack of knowledge around Java), is there a way I can bridge the two PKI hierarchies? 
    I have been experimenting with Cross CA certificates and Qualified Subordination, but that really seems like overkill for my situation.  These two PKI environments are within the same organization.  Is there a simpler way to essentially sign
    the SHA256 root CA certificate with the SHA1 root CA, so that if the Java clients see a new SSL certificate, for example, issued from the new SHA256 CA's they will have the ability to construct the chain of trust to the old SHA1 root
    CA?  This would just be a temporary solution to give us time to get the new CA certificates out there to the Java clients.

    yes, you can bridge via Qualified Subordination (Cross-Certification) and it is the only way you can bridge PKIs. However, bridging should be a temporary solution, because SHA2 PKI will chain to SHA1 root, which is not recommended.

  • Synth/Nimbus: how to implement a new UI-delegate?

    my first steps in the region - so please be lenient :-)
    Problem is that nearly everthing in the Synth package is package private, looks like a completely sealed shop. Even the ui-delegate creation doesn't follow the usual pattern (register the class and let the manager instantiate it later) but is hard-coded - hard to belief, but truely constructors called - in the SynthLookAndFeel. There is no way to extend that I can see.
    Actually, the instantiation doesn't hurt us (== SwingX), because our AddOn mechanism takes care of it (and does a good job, fortunately).
    what does hurt, afaics, is the fact that the delegates can't be implemented the synth-way: using context, state, region, painter ... many of those are invisible to external classes. It starts with the simple update method, standard in all synth delegates is

    Then there's the SynthContext. In the UI I provided a method called getContext. All it pretty much does is calculate the state of the component and returns a new SynthContext based on that state. The only thing unique about it is that I decided to set the MOUSE_OVER flag only if the the mouse is over the region being painted. With the appropriate SynthContext and SynthXPainter, I can call the methods I need to paint XComponent.
    Note that I don't need to call SynthContext#dispose (which is invisible) on the objects I create. This is because the SynthContext is not cached anywhere when using the public api for the class.
    Now we need to provide a SynthStyleFactory that returns a SynthStyle appropriate for the regions.

  • Implementing a News Scenario

    I need to implement this scenary in Portal:
    Post news, and that on the "home page" (KM iViews with NewsBrowser layout set);  is only the most recent news item published.
    And in any part of the iView, which included a link to "see news history" and then gain access to a repository where they are stored.
    What is the simplest way to do this?.

    As far as I understand your question, you are interested in a "physical" archiving of the news, which means you would like your current news in folder1 and archived news in folder2.
    One way to do that is to write a repository service that performs this archiving for you - its not standard SAP portal functionality.
    Another option is to write a web dynpro iview that displays your different news channels and let you select from a number of criteria how (many) news items you would like to archive (and perhaps where you would like them to be archived).
    The final option as I see it is to set the collection renderer to only display the last 4 news items on page 1, and then let the end user use the pager to get to news item 5-8, 9-12, etc etc. But if you chose this scenario you need to bear in mind that SAP recommends a maximum of 1000 files in each folder, but even with a smaller number the iview will have rather high response times because of the permissions check.

  • De-activate standard implementation for New BADI ES_FIN_EBPP_MAIL_PUT_DATA

    I have a requirement where i need to deactivate the standard implementation for the New BADI 'ES_FIN_EBPP_MAIL_PUT_DATA'
    and activate my Z-Implementation. I have been able to activate the Z-implementation (i.e. by checking the checkbox Default implementation it allows me to activate the Z-implementation).
    Also, the BADI ES_FIN_EBPP_MAIL_PUT_DATA is a single use BADI, so technically multiple implementations should not be possible. bus somehow it has allowed me to activate my Z-Implementation along with the standard implementation being active.
    But the problem is although the Z-implementation is active, as the standard implementation is also active, the standard implementation overwrites the Z-implementation, therefore my code is never executed.
    Please advise on how to deactivate the standard implementation and implement the Z-Implementation.

    cl_def_im_address_subscreen is only a sap default class that you can use for creating your own implementation. If you want to see the existing implementations, transaction SE18, enter Classic BAdI ADDRESS_SUBSCREEN and click menu enhancement implementation, overview. Check if the existing implementation corresponds to a custom implementation (then you can modify it), or to a sap or partner product (then you can't modify it, or you can use the enhancement framework to enhance it).
