HR male & female count
Hi Frnds,
For 0Person infoobject i have an attribute 0Gender(Male & female values).I can display male and female for all employees but In my query output i have to show number of male employees and female employees.
I have already checked with number of employees restricted with 0Gendor. But I am not getting the result.
For eg: Out of 10 total employees I have 6 male and 4 female. So how can I count the male employees and female employees.
Do i need to write any routine in one of the reporting exits or else can i put any formula for calculation?
if u have any code please share.
Regards,
Sridhar
Hi Aduri,
good document,
created one CKF(male ckf), inside this created one formula variable(male count): given characterstics 0PERSON with attribute value 'referecen charactstic(constant1). here i'm not mentioned any gender type male/female. that's why i'm not getting male count.
can u give any other way to count. i tried with different combinations but i couldn't.
pls suggest me.
thanks,
sridhar

Where to find a USB "full power" male/female cable?
Last year i got an ElGato Turbo h.264 usb stick. It speeds up encoding. It needs to use the full power USB port so it won't work connecting it to your keyboard. ElGato included a "full power" male/female cable so the user doesn't have to reach behind the iMac all the time to plug the usb stick in and out.
Does anyone know where to buy cables like this? I don't need a powered usb hub. Just a cable.
thx

Round copper cored extension cable male/female
anyone have any links to UK shops for telephone extension cable (round copper core) male/female connections. I have tried 2 different BT shops, but they say they don`t stock them which I thought was weird
Thanks in advance.

RCA Extension Cable - Male to Female a make that fits Inspire 5.1 speakers?
Hi
I want to extend the distance between my speakers and the subwoofer. I believe I have a Creative Inspre 5200 system. I bought some RCA male female extension cables but the male nad female ends were too long and did not fit either the jack on the end of the speaker cable or the input into the subwoofer.
Can any one male any recommendations or provide sources to buy cable with the correct fitting male female ends?
many thaaks
Shelsey WalshCreative offers many speaker systems that will fit your needs, without decoder.
You mentioned the Inspire 5700 system; this system comes with a decoder/amplifier, and wouldnt actually be what you'r looking for.
If your looking for awesome sound-quality, and good power, I can recommend the 5.1 Megaworks system, though this system can get quite expensive, you'll get what you pay for.
The megaworks (like "all" other creative speaker systems, got a built in amplifier in the subwoofer, where you connect all the speakers.)
To connect the speakers to the DVD-player, you connect the multichannel output on the DVD-player, to the multichannel input on the back of the subwoofer. (three stereo minijack inputs.)
You may need some RCA-to-minijack adapters, so that the multichannel audio cable that comes with the megaworks, will fit on your DVD-players output. -

Thanks,
VivekThere are two mistakes:
1) As said by todiravi: you entered a space after MUMBAI at line 5
2) Counting not null values will count all, regardless whether the value is 0 or 1. So the zeros are counted as well. You can circumvent that by changing the count function to a sum, but I think using the count function is more intuitive.
This is your original query:
SQL> with tab as
2 (select 'PUNE' CITY, 'ABC' NAME, 'M' SEX FROM DUAL UNION ALL
3 SELECT 'PUNE', 'ABC', 'M' FROM DUAL UNION ALL
4 SELECT 'MUMBAI', 'DEF', 'F' FROM DUAL UNION ALL
5 SELECT 'MUMBAI ','XYZ', 'M' FROM DUAL
6 )
7 SELECT CITY, COUNT(DECODE(SEX,'M',1,0)) MALES, COUNT(DECODE(SEX,'F',1,0))FEMALES FROM TAB GROUP BY
8 CITY
9 /
CITY MALES FEMALES
MUMBAI 1 1
MUMBAI 1 1
PUNE 2 2
3 rijen zijn geselecteerd. Now watch what happens when the space is removed: just one line for MUMBAI:
SQL> with tab as
2 (select 'PUNE' CITY, 'ABC' NAME, 'M' SEX FROM DUAL UNION ALL
3 SELECT 'PUNE', 'ABC', 'M' FROM DUAL UNION ALL
4 SELECT 'MUMBAI', 'DEF', 'F' FROM DUAL UNION ALL
5 SELECT 'MUMBAI','XYZ', 'M' FROM DUAL
6 )
7 SELECT CITY, COUNT(DECODE(SEX,'M',1,0)) MALES, COUNT(DECODE(SEX,'F',1,0))FEMALES FROM TAB GROUP BY
8 CITY
9 /
CITY MALES FEMALES
MUMBAI 2 2
PUNE 2 2
2 rijen zijn geselecteerd. The numbers are incorrect because the zeros are counted as well. Here is paulrotciv's solution using sum:
SQL> with tab as
2 (select 'PUNE' CITY, 'ABC' NAME, 'M' SEX FROM DUAL UNION ALL
3 SELECT 'PUNE', 'ABC', 'M' FROM DUAL UNION ALL
4 SELECT 'MUMBAI', 'DEF', 'F' FROM DUAL UNION ALL
5 SELECT 'MUMBAI','XYZ', 'M' FROM DUAL
6 )
7 SELECT CITY, sum(DECODE(SEX,'M',1,0)) MALES, sum(DECODE(SEX,'F',1,0))FEMALES FROM TAB GROUP BY
8 CITY
9 /
CITY MALES FEMALES
MUMBAI 1 1
PUNE 2 0
2 rijen zijn geselecteerd. The same can be achieved by using the count function, but skipping the fourth argument of the decode function, so they remain NULL, and NULLS are not counted:
SQL> with tab as
2 (select 'PUNE' CITY, 'ABC' NAME, 'M' SEX FROM DUAL UNION ALL
3 SELECT 'PUNE', 'ABC', 'M' FROM DUAL UNION ALL
4 SELECT 'MUMBAI', 'DEF', 'F' FROM DUAL UNION ALL
5 SELECT 'MUMBAI','XYZ', 'M' FROM DUAL
6 )
7 SELECT CITY, COUNT(DECODE(SEX,'M',1)) MALES, COUNT(DECODE(SEX,'F',1))FEMALES FROM TAB GROUP BY
8 CITY
9 /
CITY MALES FEMALES
MUMBAI 1 1
PUNE 2 0
2 rijen zijn geselecteerd.Hope this helps.

I would like to find out the total number of counts in a table based on a condition (Gender = 'F' or 'M'), I can do this in SQL.
I would like to model a simple BMM layer to create two measures 1. Male Count 2. Female Count; but not sure how to do this.
Here are the queries:
1. select post_code , count(gender) AS MALE_COUNT from balances_f where gender = 'M' group by post_code;
2. select post_code , count(gender) AS FEMALE_COUNT from balances_f where gender = 'F' group by post_code;
Appreciate any help.
Thanks
BCreate two new columns Male Count and Female Count and in the formula , use like this
case when Gender = 'F' then 1 else 0 end
( For Female Count )
and
case when Gender = 'M' then 1 else 0 end
for Male count.
Edit :- Kart has provided the answer. Please mark his answer as correct if this works for you.

Percentage of Total Count of Category in Raw Data Column in Pivot Table
I have normalized my data in Excel and I have a column: "question 1" and then a column for "gender" which has values as "female" and "male". I have created a pivot table for these two variables, "Gender" and
"Question 1". My values for Females and Males from the Gender data are presented within my pivot table. I want to present these numbers as percentages of Total "Females" and "Males" that are in the "Gender" column in
my master dataset. Pivot tables will only allow me to do %'s of data already in the pivot table
I am attempting to use Calculated Fields within Pivot Tables to resolve this. I do not want to create a separate column in my master data set, but rather, complete all calculations within the pivot tableThank you very much,
The steps you provided use the total "gender" within the pivot table as the "grand total".
If I have a binomial variable, "gender" with "male" as one of the variables, I need the grand total be the total male in the raw data.
Example: if there are 100 total males in the raw data for the column "gender"
and I construct a pivot table with a dependent variable which is a survey question and "gender" and 30 males "agreed" with the survey question and 20 females "agreed" with the survey question, your instructions for % of grand total would show 60% for
males who agree [males + females who replied to the survey question],
when, what I need is the total males in the raw data, 100, used as the total so that the percentage of males who answered "agreed" to the survey question is 30% of all males.
Thank you very much -

i also wanted to learn how to read the

Lookup expression is not working when I am using with in the rectangle box in SSRS
I have two datasets with common member is ProgramID.
I have followed the below steps,
1. Added one table (2x2) and mapped this table to dataset1. After that I have removed top row.
That means I am maintaing only data row.
2. Added group to the table (ProgramID). Now the programid is sitting at cell#(1,1) and cell#(1,2) is blank
3. I have verified the report with preview and able to see the data for my all programs. I have 5 programs
4. my plan is adding chart and matrix reports to cell# (1,2). If I am adding chart/matrix to the cell#(1,2) then we can't contol the cell alignments in terms of height x width.
To resolve that problem, I have added one rectangle control to the cell#(1,2) then I have added my chart and matrix report
5. After completing the report, I have verified with preview and able to see the reports (chart/matrix) for all my 5 programs by page wise (note: I have provided page break before for my rectangle)
6. Till this point, I have no issues
7. Now, I have added one more row under the group. so, we have our main table (2x2). Becuase of programId group we can only see 3 cells in total table (cell# (1,1) =ProgramId cell#(1,2)=chart and matix reports under rectangle box; cell#(2,1)=already
merged with ProgramID group; cell#(2,2)= planned to add one more rectanlge and add two reports (chart and matrix)
8. Now, i have added rectangle to cell#(2,2) then added chart and matrix reports within the rectangle.
9. cell#(2,2) reports are needs to extract the data from dataset-2. Here we have common member is ProgramID (ds-1,ds-2)
10. First I have tested for matrix report by adding lookup expression
Matrix report (2x2)
row-1: Cell(1,1)= Gender report heading ; cell(1,2)=Month (column group)
Note: month is also common member in both the datasets.
row-2: cell(2,1)-- =Lookup(Programid.value, Programid.value,Gender.value,"Dataset2") (Gender data is Male and Female)
Cell(2,2) -- empty for now
11. I have tried to preview the report and able to see the report without any issues and below are observations
main Table (2 x2)
Cell# (1,1) = ProgramID --Returning all 5 programs properly
Cell# (1,2) = Dataset1 related report (chart and matrix reports under rectangle) -- able to see without any issues
Cell#(2,1) = We already know this is merged cell. i.e menas ProgramID dispalying
Cell#(2,2)= Only Male record is dispalying in the matrix report which is under rectanlge (here we have applied Lookup expression.
Note: male is the first record from the database and Female is the second record
Also, observed that Cell#(2,2) matrix report is unable to display the gender count information when I have provided count value expression in the cell(2,2) within the matrix and the expression I have uses is
= sum(Lookup(ProgramId.value,ProgramId.value,GenderCOunt.value,"Dataset2"))
Please ask me if I am unable to explain or lengthy explain.
Point : Why the lookup expression is giving the first record only (in case of gender #(male, female) and why it is unable to give the gendercount. Gendercount cell is totally blank.
Please help me.
Kishore.Hi Kishore,
I have tested the issue step by step by following you description, while the first issue works well in my local environment. Based on my research, this can be caused by the lookup expression or it indeed return Male value based on the logic. If you use the
expression below, it will indeed only return the Male record. So please try to double-check the record in the two datasets and the expression in your environment:
=lookup(first(Fields!ProgramID.Value,"DataSet1"),Fields!ProgramID.Value,Fields!Gender.Value,"DataSet2")
As to the second issue, please try to use the following expression:
=Count(Lookup(fields!ProgramID.value,fields!ProgramID.value,fields!Gender.value,"DataSet2"))
Besides, if this issue still exist, in order to trouble shoot this issue more efficiently, could you please post both the .rdl file with all the size properties to us by the following E-mail address? It is benefit for us to do further analysis.

Aggregation Problem in DSO (Urgent)
Hello Experts,
I am loading data from PSA to a DSO where my Key is Activity type (e.g 2020, 2040, 2060, 2080). For each of the activity type I want to aggegate the gender for male/female. In the key figure for Zmale I am using SUM as aggregation type. For the activity type 2020, I have 4 male count in PSA (diffrent records). When i load to the DSO my Zmale I/o is showing only 1 instead of 4. Same thing is happening for other activity types as well. For a better explanation,
In PSA---
<b>0Act_type</b> -
<b>Zmale</b>
2020 -
1
1
1
1
2040 -
1
1
1
After loading to DSO
0Act_type -
Zmale
2020 -
1
2040 -
1
Here in the DSO, activity type 2020 should be cumulated to 4 (male) and 2040 should be cumulated to 2. But its not happening in the DSO level.
Please help me figure this out. Reward points are guranteed. Thanks in advance.
AkashCheck whether update mode for keyfigure is additive.
