• Plant Maintenance - Measuring Point Counter Replacement

Dear Expert,
I had created Measuring Point which is cumulative in nature and the Counter Overflow reading is 999999. Suppose the last reading was 999900. Now my today reading is 500 then system is showing total counter reading 10000400.
My question is "how system will replace the counter reading as 401 automatically instead of 10000400". I don't want to replace the counter manually. Please guide me where i have to do configuration for this or what is best way to do it.
Thanks & Regards
Rajiv Ranjan

Hi Thyagu,
Thanks for your reply and valuable suggestion.
My question is how the Total Counter Reading will become zero and start from zero when it overflow.
For example :
Lets Counter Over Flow Reading is 100
total counter reading on 8th august is 90.
on 9th august the difference is 40, then Counter reading become 30 and TotalCtrReading is 130. I want TotalCtrReading should show 30 instead of 130. how to do it?

• Integration between plant maintenance & SD

Hi Friends,
I have an requirement for configure the following scenario for my clinet:
Client have around 500 trucks for transportation. They want to maintain these truck as equipments in plant maintenance.
During creation of sale order in SD, customer wants to view avialble trucks in the maintenance plant. and select the suiatable truck in sale order for transportation of material.
Request your valuable tips to configuare the same in SAP.
Thanks in advance.
Shankar

Hi Shankar,
If you have already decided to use truck as RTP material, the solution is pretty much standard....I don't see any issue in ability to view RTP stock...Have you already designed and went ahead and stuck with any specific issue in this? If not start working on it....You will see RTP stock at each customer in standard MMBE as well...absolutely no issues in this standard solution...Let me know at what point you are stock...perhaps, we can analyse the predecessor steps..

• 'Log Book' in plant maintenance (SAP PM module)

Dear Experts
I want to know about 'Log Book' in plant maintenance (SAP PM module). How to work on LOG BOOK & what are the configuration settings available in SAP PM for Log Book?
Basically, the concept of logbook is to update shift activities & measures during Plant Maintenance without SAP. but in SAP, What i know about the Log book in SAP PM is : It is an industry specific feature, before it was only used in (IS- Aeronautical). but now it is available in ECC 6.0 also. To activate this node, we need to update the patch 2.0 in ECC 6.0
Thanx,
PMGURU

Dear,
The Logbook is an easy-to-use tool that supports the controlling and execution of daily maintenance tasks for assets in operation. This tool provides personnel, who are operating the assets, with the functions to log defects and operational data. It provides maintenance personnel, such as maintenance engineers and technicians, with functions that ensure the timely and reliable execution of their maintenance tasks.
Logbook is easy to use and provides functionality that is seamlessly integrated with follow-on processes of the mySAP for Aerospace & Defense solution for Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO). For example, operational data captured in the Logbook updates measurement points that, in turn, trigger preventive maintenance events. Maintenance work steps created in the Logbook generate material and resource requirements in materials and capacity planning. Material exchanges update the asset structure and automatically generate the required goods movements.
An important business example for using the Logbook is to control the daily line maintenance tasks for aircrafts.
The logbook helps you record defects encountered during aircraft flights and the actions taken to correct them. The log may also include the space to record additional flight data, such as the names of the crew members, flight parameters, payload data, fueling data, flight hours, and cycles operated.

• Pur Req via Plant maintenance order

Hi,
When Non stock item is assigned to a Plant Maintenance order, A purchase requisition is created automatically for that item.
During the creation of purchase requision it is required to enter goods recipient and unloading point( few fields are made mandatory)
Issue: At this stage we are giving planne delivery time and GR processing time.
But when we check the Purchase req for that item, Only GR processing time is considered not Planned delivery time.
Please provide your suggestion, why planned delivery time is not considered for scheduling of purchase req.
Thanks and regards,
Nataraj

Hi!,
I think you should check the operation control key you are using. Whether that key allows 1. Externally processed opearation 2. allows the scheduling of externally processed operation. If both are true then it will take the standard values defined for that opearation for scheduling. if 2nd is not true then it will schedule as per planned delivery time.
I think this will solve your problem.

Uday

• Settings for costing data in order types for plant maintenance

i want to know the purpose of settings for costing data in order types for plant maintenance. do we need to do it for sure i mean are those settings mandatory to analyze the costs on work order

Yes you need to maintain those settings, as the plant maintenance orders are also considered as cost objects and in order for you to post any cost, you need to have a cost object. Unless you maintain these settings, the cost you posted cannot be settled to a cost center.
Assign points as a way to say thanks.

• Catalog Interface (OCI) - Customizing for Plant Maintenance order ERP2005

Hello Experts,
we want to use the integration between SRM and ERP2005. In the sap documentationsap documentation I found the following:
'In the Customizing for Plant Maintenance and Customer Service or in the Customizing for Project Systems, you entered the required data about the catalog that you want to connect to the SAP R/3 system. You can find the corresponding IMG activities under Interface for Procurement Using External Catalogs (OCI).'
However I can`t find this IMG activities in our ERP2005 system.
What`s wrong?
Thanks in advance.
Regards
U. Wieland

Hi! Additional we had to generate the img new.
Unfortunaetly I haven`t a idee how does this work. (Our sap basis did this.)
Through the assign from catalog to order type, I think it nessary to use the pm-img-activities...

• Plant Maintenance Reports & Report Writer/Painter

Has anyone ever used Report Painter or Report Writer to produce SAP Plant Maintenance Reports? If so, what was your experience in using this tool and how difficult is it to produce reports?
The report that needs to be generated is for overdue PM orders (PM09) ....these are scheduled preventive maintenance orders.
We need to be able to determine if they are completed and if they are on time. This report needs to have the flexibility to choose the following
Functional Locations
Equipment
Plant sections
Main Work Center
Basic finish date / Planned Date / Overdue date (to be determined)
Maintenance Plan
Maintenance Activity Type
Group
We need to be able to run a chart from this data to show how many PM's are behind, how many were completed on time compared to the requirements, and any other chart that would be available (i.e. pie, line, bar etc.).
Thanks
Ruthie

Hi,
the fields that you want in ur report must be available in ur operating concern data structure,,,
pls check if the characteristics and the value fields that you require is available in the data structure,,,

• Catalog Content Management in Plant Maintenance

Hi,
We are working on Plant Maintenance Component Scenario. The current scenario of Component planning is that we create PM order in backend. We add the components from the Catalogs in SRM Frontend.
My question is that possible to bring the catalog ICON in PM Order in backend or is that possible to add components from catalog in the backend.
Regards
Lovkesh

I hope, for the below points there is no separate configuration.
1) Set List Processing for Fleet management objects.
2) Set reference object screen for Vehicles.
For 3) Consumption Relevant Counter reading Update.
IMG => PM & CS => Information systems for PM & CS => Configure Measurement document update
I hope, this is common for all the versions. Please check.

• Plant Maintenance with MRP

Dear all,
Sorry because i can't find a forum for PM function, so i have to post this subject in PP forum. But I think thera are some solution for my problem.
1. Does anyone run MRP for Plant Maintenance??? because I have to make requirement planning of material for maintenance plan in my company.
2. I have a equipment BOM, so when I have a maintenance order. Why the system does not auto load all of component in BOM into tab component of maintenance order? If I want to load assign component fof maintenance order, I have to do this by choose each item in BOM equipment and assign it to maintenance order.
Thank all

Hi VU,
As i u/s MRP is not run like for PM or PP or MM, it is run for Materials in the plant & any material which allows MRP will be considered for MRP, Coming to PM you may stock your spares not on individual requirement but say based on consumption(reorder point), consumables like grease & oil can also be planned this way, then these materials will be considered in MRP, and when you create an order and you have missing part, MRP would consider the requirement from order.
Coming to 2nd part, In manufactuirng(PP) a material, all the materials given in the BOM would be required,
while in maintenance this would not be so, for an equipment you may have no.of spares listed out but all the spares would not be used ?????
Hope this helps.
Regards

Hi,
This is not PM (Plant Maintenance) Platform.
Actually I also got confused and doubly checked whether I had clicked on wrong link or not. No I had not. Please please create your threads on PM specific link.
Just it looks like that for your requirement - Plant specific customization and other data are required. You can take reference from Plant 1000 while copying to other Plants.
Hope this will make sense.
