HR Renewal 1.0 Suite Page Builder Loading Nonstop

Experts, I tried setting up HR Renewal to test and show the functionality and get this loading screen where I cannot select anything. Has anyone else seen this? I tried with IE and Chrome.
Made sure the business functions were activated and also activated the services in SICF. Any ideas on why this is happening?

Thank you much for responding and I apologize for posting this thread in the HCM area first. I did try to launch it directly from PFCG and got some errors which I have shown here. Per the first error message I thought I needed to assign the CHIPS which is why I went to the admin page to try to do that, but the admin page never loaded for me to make any changes/additions.
I just went to the gateway system transaction you mentioned just now and do see some error messages.
Here is more details on the error
Is this something that is not setup with the Netweaver Gateway setup? Perhaps that is also causing the issue with the admin page not loading as well?

I am using Suite Page Builder to create some custom catalogs for HR Renewal. I have added the following parameters to my user:

When I create a new custom catalog I do not see it included in any of the above requests.
Could you please assist on this?

Is it possible to perform any translations on the texts of

I have tried resetting it, ive restarted my browser etc. I tried to erase all data from my Ipad but I can't do that because it needs to sign into my Apple ID and use the Internet!

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app

    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. Why not construct an intermediate page after the
login page that has SESSION_UNSPECIFIED and
a refresh META tag. The page can then refresh

produce web pages. These pages were originally written without session
management. I'm now busy adding session management to them, but there is
one problem with this approach and I will appreciate if someone can shed
some light on it. Here it is:
Page one is submitted.
Some validation (authentication) takes place and depending on the outcome,
either page 2A (SESSION_REQUIRED) or 2B (error page with
SESSION_UNSPECIFIED) must be displayed. In order to implement this, I
needed a place to make a decision. The way I've done it, is to pass a
'virtual page' (SESSION_UNSPECIFIED) to the page builder service. The
validation is done here and request.PageName is then replaced with the
PageName of pages 2A or 2B. The HandleRequest() method is then called
again. The problem is that the ValidateSession() method does not get
invoked again, thus allowing 2A through without a session. How do I make
sure that the ValidateSession() method get invoked again?
The approach making use of templates look to me as if it has all the means
to do this (redirect tag), but I don't want to rewrite everything if I
don't have to. Is there a way that a pagebuilder page can be specified by
the redirect tag? This will definitely help, but so far I've only managed
to call templates from the redirect tag.
Is the template approach better suited for session management? It is
definetely better documented...

We need to see the entire crash report, particularly the binary images description:
Go to your Applications Folder and open your Utilities Folder. Open the application Console.
In the left-hand column, click on Crash Reporter.
Click on the small triangle under Crash Reporter in the l/h column and they will all be listed.
Scroll down to the latest Safari report and click on it.
Now click on the r/h column (which now only shows THAT crash report and then Command-a to copy it all.
Come back here and Command-v it to post it here!

Dynamic page building...

Hello ~
I've previously posted a topic about building dynamic tabs base on data from a database rowset... got that figured out... now would like to put a different dynamic tree on each page based on a different rowset.. and not sure how to accomplish this...
Currently I have a page of say 10 tabs, and a dynamic tree based on a known 'status', but when I deploy my tree shows up the same on all the pages...
do I need a layout panel on each tab I create to keep the tabs individual, or ? Do I need to somehow 'switch' or specify which tab page I'm dynamically building each tree onto in the java code? And if so, any ideas how? Examples appreciated...
Structure is thus: Product Tab/Status Tree/Issue. Maybe Creator isn't designed to do so many things dynamically...

By default the tabs in the tab set component have a layout panel in them. If you add another tab, you get a seperate layout panel for that tab. If you want a different tree to be displayed for each tab, you could put a seperate tree in each layout panel... so 10 tabs, 10 trees.
Do you have a seperate page for each tab with a different tree in it? Or have you just got 1 page and are dynamically changing the same tree depending on which tab is pressed? If this is the case does your code populate the tree correctly when you press a tab? You can check this by dropping a message group component on the page, and putting using info("Tree: " + tree1); after you use setTree1(newTree); in your code. When you run ur app you should see a unique ID in the messages group everytime you press a tab.
If you get a unique ID for each tab, you have got as far as I have, and your problem is the page is not rendering properly. The very first time a page is loaded a view of the page is saved. Any subsequent time the page is loaded it loads the saved view with the original tree data. It has something to with the JSF lifecycle (http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/docs/tutorial/doc/JSFIntro10.html).

Question about Page Builder behavior - how to get a "please wait message" ?

Hi all together,
I got a question about Portal Framework / Page Buider handling iView Integration.
We are working with a lot of App Integrator iViews and often the pages includes with app integrator are loading longer than the rest of the portal. So there is the idea to put in a "please wait while loading message" for the enduser.
I analysed the html code, the page builder is generating and foud out 3 diffrent approaches how the page buider is rendering the IFRAME with the integrated application configured with an app integrator iView.
My question is how can I influence this behavior to put a "please wait while loading message"?
Different types of iView integration in the client I have seen:
a) direct loading of the content in the IFRAME (<iframe id="" ... scr="/mysource">)
b) Filling the iframe with 'about:blank' and loading the content later by filling a form with JS
( <iframe id="" .... scr="about:blank">and after the iframe <form id="" action="mysource" ...>
c) Filling the iframe with a html file from the portal layout and loading the content later by filling a form with JS (similar to b)
( <iframe id=""" ....scr="/irj/portalapps/com.sap.test.mylayout/html/blank.html>
I checked that variant b) is getting generated when loading a page with different components on the side (not only the app integrator iview) and variant c) is generated when just one app integrator iView is positioned (no portal page).
Goal: To get the "please wait picture" I want to know how to get variant c) in cases of different elements on one page
So I would be able to put this picture on the HTML-Page in the Portal layout (blank.html)
Hope, someone with a deep portal / page builder know-how can help me out!
Another way: Does anybody knows another way how to put a "please wait message" while app integrator application is not loaded yet?

Hi Jens,
there are several reasons why you don't get the loading animation:
Web Dynpro ABAP: https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1432358 -> missing configuration
Wrong height size for iView: https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1358494 -> alter configuration of the iFrame height (loading animation gets displayed, but is hidden)
FPN, BSP, BEx: https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1290995 -> AI isn't showing the animation because of performance considerations. I guess that is your case. Depending on your portal version this is a simple service configuration or involves some customization.

I don't see a way to stop a page from loading. There is no "X" in the tool bar like there used to be, so how do I do it in Firefox Beta?

When I change my mind about loading a page I don't see anyway to stop it from building or to cancel the action. I tried to research "stop" at http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Menu%20Reference?s=%22url+bar%22&as=s#w_stop regarding the main window reference menu but nothing of what I read there seemed applicable. It appears "Stop" is supposed to be under "View", but I did not find it there. Please help! I want a simple click of the mouse action to prevent a page from loading!

You see the orange (on Linux gray) Firefox button if the Menu Bar is hidden, so you need to hide the Menu bar via View > Toolbars, also accessible via Firefox > Options.<br />
If you need to access the hidden Menu bar then press F10 or hold down the Alt key to make the Menu Bar appear temporarily.<br />
Firefox 4 has two bookmark buttons with a star in the Customize window.<br />

How do I create a "Page is loading" message?

I have done some research and found some javscripts onthe web, but I have been unsuccessful in my attempts to get the message "Page is loading" in the application I am building. The report on the page takes a long time to load and I want to inform the end user of the page status.

How do I stop a query from running when the page is loaded

Hi All,
I'm using JDeveloper 10.1.3.4. I have a JSPX page that is used to collect search parameters and then when a button is clicked uses those values to run a query and then populate a table on the same page. The problem is that when the page is loaded the system attempts to run the query. The query is a method in a session bean. I can keep the method from running the query code by wrapping it in an 'if' statement and checking the parameters for null (or other value). Once the parameters are collected the query is invoked but it looks like the method is running twice, once with the parameters (here I've checked that the result actually has rows in the list) and then again where the parameters are null and the method returns null.
What is the best way to do what I want here? From the buttons action method I am called the session beam method and returning null to stay on the same page. I think that is why the method is running the second time and returning null.

Safari 4.0.3 running OSX 10.6.1 - Pages are loading but NOT thumbnails?

Just upgraded to OSX 10.6.1 running Safari 4.0.3 last week - everything was working BEFORE the upgrade - but now for some reason I have an issue where pages ARE loading including larger banners, text flash animations etc, but if the site contains small thumbnails they are not loading.
The icon in the web bar spins and spins for ages and then suddenly where the thumbnails should be I get the blue question make as if the links are broken - which there not as this is happening to well know sites such as youtube gettyimages and ebay and its just to the thumbnails?????
Take ebay for example, the homepage page loads in fine, and if I search for a product - the page with the listing all loads but not the thumbnail images, yet if I click a listing the full page loads without a problem?
Any advice, I have cleared the cookies and javascript database all to no avail?
