Hr to Cats

Hi we are implementing Cats and HR. Pls can you advise if it is at all possible to reflect the absences captured in infotype 2001 on the cats timesheet. we are not entering absences in from the timeshett only attendences. we are using the ess leave application to log time in HR. Is there a way the timesheet can read 2001 and blank outvthe days a person is on leave.
Pls let me know if this is at all possible.

CATS has it own database CATSDB as you know, from where the data is displayed in timesheet.
And for Leave, the ESS leave application uses different table and workflow. Only once when it is approved is posted to IT2001.
Thus the absences in 2001 cant be refelected in CATS Timesheet, but yes there is a field called target hours in timesheet. If you activate that in your data entry profile than for the days where employee is having an absence, the target hours will turn down to 0.

However during billing the VPRS was not captured from PO price (which

Using Workflow in CATS instead of Standard Task ??

Hi All,
We are using CATS on ESS to allow users to enter their overtime and time related payments. The Data Entry Profile is configured with 'Approval Required', 'Workflow approval' and 'Automatic recipient' selected. We have entered a standard task which all seems to work ok. Issue we have is that the business requires additional functionality where if a manager does not process the approval request within a no of days that the request is escalated to the next manager. They also dont like the message content in the rejection message that is sent to the employee when the manager rejects the request. We could do this if it was a full Workflow being used but since the configuration only allows you to enter a task and not a workflow we are trying to find a workaround. Looking at a couple of possibilities around triggering a workflow separately. Has anyone come across this requirement and can suggest any workarounds.

UWL CATS time approval error "No data exists that needs to be approved"

Hi all,
We approve CATS working time through SAP portal UWL. The user can see the workitem in her UWL inbox, but got an error u201CNo data exists that needs to be approvedu201D when he tried to execute the workitem. But the user is able to execute the workitem using Business workplace in ECC. We are using the standard UWL application.
This happens only to CATS time entries for certain type of employees (for example, the employees who do not report directly to the approver).

SAP UWLJWF 7.00 sp23
SAP ECC 6.0
Here is what I have found from my trouble-shooting. When I test (preview) the UWL iView, it seems to be working fine. But when I call up the iView from the portal MSS role, I got the error message u201CNo data exists that needs to be approved.u201D

I have found that the workitem ID is not passed to the CATS approval web dynpro program. Here is what is in the Item Type configuration XML. Is there anything missing?

Availability Check not working for Item Cat TANN or YG05 in Btch Split

Currently working on implementing Automatic Batch Determination (BD) project and one fine piece is holding up the implementation (make or break for project).
In our QA System:
- In inventory we have a quantity of 2 for a material: 1 in one batch and 1 in another batch.
- Create an order with 2 line items with the same material number for a quantity of 1 each. Line item category is TANN
- When you generate the delivery the batch determination causes the items to split (even though you have a quantity of 1 in the line item).
- When you go into the delivery and open up the 1st line item and look at the 900001 line, BD chooses the 1st batch for a quantity of 1. Line item category is YG05.
- When you open up the 2nd line item and look at the 900002 line, BD chooses the 1st batch again, NOT the 2nd batch which it should.
If I change the line item category on the Sales Order to TAN and generate the delivery, BD correctly assigns the 1st batch to the 900001 line item and the 2nd batch to the 900002 line item. Which is correct.
Now for the strange part. The TANN item category and BD works find in our DEV Sandbox, but NOT in our QAS system.
I have spent two days now trying to find out where Availability Check is assigned specifically to Item Categories and any differences between our DEV Sandbox and our QA systems to no avail.
Our customers need the ability to be able to put the same material number on multiple lines of a sales order due to special pricing per customer within an order.
Can anyone direct me to some configuration or transaction that controls Availability Checking by Item Category. I have checked the 0VLP transaction and they are identical between our DEV and QA system for the TANN and YG05 categories.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

In VOV6 the 'CP' Schedule Line Cat. has the Availability flag check. There were a few areas where I found an "Availability" flag and made sure there were all set.
But, I did finally find out what the error was:
Logistics Exec -> Shipping -> Basic Shipping Functions -> Avail Check and Transfer of Requirements -> Transfer of Requirements -> Determination Of Requirement Types Using Transactions
There are entries by Item Category. For
I/C = TANN
MRP type = PD
the Requirement Type was missing (if you look at the entry for TAN/PD you see an 11 in the RqTy column).
So I entered a 11 (Delivery Requirement) into the field and now the Availability Check works and I am getting the correct Batches and quantities during Batch Determination.
There is no entry for the YG05 batch split, so I guess the system just uses the Item Category of the main line item.

note: BPEL keeps it's own "offline" copy of table and database items. A column that is marked not null in the database can be marked as nullable in this area. (if you kmow that a trigger is going to cater for this ..)
One workaround is to use a trigger to provide value rather than use the column default ..

The button on the top that you use to lock and unlock or put to sleep is the power button. The button lower center of the screen is the home button...can be used to also wake from sleep and switch to the base home screen.

HP AIO 6180 on CAT 5 network failure after year of flawless use

I have a small home office with a 6180 and a 6280 (w/o fax and doc feeder) and although the 628 constantly drops from the online status and delays printing, eventually it returns.
The REAL ISSUE now is that my main printer, the 6180 now is "READY" but I cannot print to it. I get "error printing" in the box when I open it from the little icon on the taskbar window. I have changed NOTHING. It will make copies directly from the machine, faxes arrive and print OK, it scans into programs as before but I just cannot print.
The only thing I can even think that would have done anything is that about 3 weeksa ago, my Daughter brought her Laptop over and attempted to connect via the wireless Router. She did not ever get connected and I was busy and never saw what she was doing, My Wife was trying to find the KEY whigh she never did. That tells me she then never got into the Network to even change the simplest setting.
When I kook at the #2 printer address, the 6280 it has an address where I see nothing for my main #1 printer, the 6180 which I cannot print to anymore.Could this be it but if I can scan, is it not then connected? If it's connected. I should be able to PRINT.
I need it badly and hate the HP Software and really do not want to re-install again. I have never seen such bloatware and intrusive software with so much useless things.
Help please. Hopefully all the wandering can get you to the main problem.
A 6180 connected via Cat 5 that worked, suddenly and with no other issues no longer prints from my main desktop computer or, any of the other 4 connected. 3 desktops and a laptop connected via wireless. All worked before.

My cat sat on the keyboard during update now the system is pale with apple in center and under that circling lines i cant either reboot or shut down.. Powering off only resumes the same. HELP

My Cat sat on the keyboard during regular updating of the system. First it went to hypo-slow with alot of beach ball action while i tried to power down for a restart and individually force quit most open apps. Restarted/Resumed same issue.. changed to( close open apps upon restart.).... Now it is light grey, apple icon in center nothing else but the rounding cursur under the middle/only apple icon..... just goes round and round...does not respond to any shutdowns other than power off..... Makes the regular start up noise and back to same routine.... PLease help if possible....

Try booting to the recovery partition and running Disk Utility.
1, Boot while holding down the command and R keys (two keys).

2. Run Disk Utility, select the hard drive in the left column, First Aid then click Repair Disk.
3. Quit DU and restart.
If that does not do it, you can reinstall the OS from the same screen as took you to DU.
(My cat has never been able to do what yours did. I think he is just trying to email his friends.)

Third Party Orders not appearing in billing due list. Item Cat billing rel 'F' & VTFA Billing Qty E

I had a requirement to do my customer billing for third party scenario before doing the invoice verification.
The solution that was proposed was to make the following changes,
In VOV7 (For TAS )item category the billing relevance should be (G) and
in the copy control VTFA at item level for item cat (TAS)maintain the billing qty(E).

The problem I faced with the above config change was that nothing was appearing in the billing due list and when I tried to do a billing from the order directly, it would not let me.
Then I made the following change,

Now after the MIGO is done based on the PO, the system allows me to do a customer billing from the SO before the invoice verification. But still this SO is still not appearing in the billing due list. Have any of you experts faced the same problem? How can I get this to appear in the billing due list? Or in other words, how do I identify open third party sales orders that are due for billing?

@ Joan, in that case invoice verification would now be necessary anymore right? In my case i need the invoice verification to happen...but at a later stage
With the existing config...i.e. F as billing relevance and E as billing quantity, I now tried doing a MIRO immediately after the MIGO and then it appears in the billing due list. So basically I think its the billing relevance F...and if I want it to come in VFO4 before MIRO, perhaps a tweak in the logic of VFO4 to include billing relevance F + billing quantity E ?

When fetching data using VIEW in source system it works fine.
When testing for fetching data of SFLIGHT using function module ZRSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE
made a copy of RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE, it is working fine.
Pls suggest the cause of error.

     This method transfers time data from the Time Sheet to the HR system.
     The time data is stored in the HR system in the following infotypes:
     o   Absences (2001) infotype
     o   Attendances (2002) infotype
     o   EE Remuneration Information (2010) infotype
     Information about a different payment and cost assignment is also
     transferred. This method does not support activity allocation.
Notes
     The data records are stored in the following tables:
     o   Attendances/absences: interface table PTEX2000 and PTEXDIR.
         The transfer report then reads the data from file PTEX2000 and
         creates it as attendances in infotype 2002 or as absences in
         infotype 2001.
     o   EE remuneration info: interface table PTEX2010 and PTEXDIR.
         The transfer report then reads data from file PTEX2010 and creates
         it as employee remuneration information in infotype 2010.

Unable to open CATS link through Portal...

Hi Guys,
I am unable to open the CATS Link through Portal.
Once I click the link "Record working time", Iam getting error message i.e:
500   Internal Server Error

You will have to check this with the person who is upporting our portal applications. From the error description it does not look like there is any thing wrong with CATS application as such.

How i make to copy just only line in text file with cat?
For example:

I want copy just "/home/Arch/./.wallpaper.png" part.
Actually i want create a shortcut for last wallpaper set from Nitroget, then i put this in SLim background.
Recently i use hsetroot for wallpaper (~/.wallpaper.png) and i create a shortcut in /usr/share/slim/theme/MYTHEME whith ln -s ~/.wallpaper.png /usr/share/slim/theme/MYTHEME/background.png.
I want make a same with Nitrogen.
I now this looks like crazy, but...

Yes. In theme directory i put background.png shortcut for my wallpaper. So, when a change wallpaper, slim background change too.

No, jpg is possible. But when you create a symbolic link, remember put the extension too. If change png to jpg, change a symbolic link extension.
But, remember if slim theme directory have background.png and background.jpg, Slim always choice .png. So, put only one this.

House wiring - cat-6 a good idea or not?

Not sure this is the place to post this, but if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.
We are building a house. The electrician is using cat-6 wiring for the phone. Someone suggested having cat-6 in the house for printers, etc.
Is it enough to share a cat-6 wire with the phone, or are we better off using a second cat-6 for computer stuff.
Since everything is going wireless (we have two airports set up, use wireless printing, etc) I sort of think the phone sharing (if we ever need it) will be necessary. But now is the time to add it if we want it.
Again, any input would be greatly appreciated.

I'd use cat-6, with ethernet connectors, for networking the computers. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category6cable for details. Cat-6 would be OK for the printers if they had ethernet connections, but most only have USB connections and cat-6 isn't the correct choice for those. However, if you connect the printers to an ethernet/USB hub, it should work. Design your network before deciding on the cabling.
