HR Triggers - Future Terminations

We recently upgraded from AC 5.3 SP 08 to AC 5.3 SP 17. We were forced to upgrade because we were implementing EHP5. We've been successfully using triggers for two years now.
One issue we have been having problems with was HR Triggers. We've configured Terminations, Posiiton Number changes, and Org Unit changes for our triggers. The issues we were facing with Position Number and Org Unit changes seems to be corrected. However, termination triggers are still not triggering correctly.
Our HR department enters "Future" terminations whenever possible. Primarily this is done for payroll purposes to avoid overpaying. On occasion, HR does enter the termination where the termination date is in the past or is the current day. However, they are typically entered with a future date.
In SP 08, future terminations were working correctly. Now with SP17 future terminations do not work. We had an OSS message in with SAP and I was told that it was a management decision to NOT support Future Terminations in 5.3 releases and GRC 10.
I now am forced to review the HR tables on a weekly basis to look for terminations and then create GRC requests based off that.
I just don't understand the logic in not supporting future terminations. I guess I'm writting with the hopes the information from SAP is not correct for GRC 10 or even future 5.3 releases. I also would like to see if other people have been hurt by this decision like we have and maybe received different information from SAP.

in 5.3, it is indeed not supported, and probably never will. For GRC10, Note 1705700 provides a workaround for future termination.
In GRC10, GRC set the validity dates of the user being terminated accordingly. This means, future termination in GRC is provided by delimiting the user validity dates upto the date of termination.
Elaborating more on the Note 1705700:
The Action ID returned by BRF+ has a request type associated with it in the IMG->GRC->AC->User Provisioning->Maintain Settings for HR Trigger Here you define the Request type associated with the Action ID as shown in Screenshot 1.
Then you have another setting where you relate the Request type with Actions as shown in screenshot 2.
So, you have to make these settings for Action ID that you expect the BRF+ to return so that the Future termination takes place.
When you terminate a user from PA30, the "valid from" date entered there for termination now becomes the User's "Valid to" date.
PS: The date entered as Valid from date in PA30 should be a future date.

Hi Virender,
This error can be experienced due to many reasons. based on my experience below reasons can cause this issue.
1) If you are using allocation check if allocation is correctly set.
2) In case you are using custom enhancements / user exits (in SD / GATP / CIF) check if any of them, causing this issue.
In my case correction of allocation setup could resolve this issue, so check what is the reason in your case.

Terminating Event Not Triggering

HI Guys,
I have added a custom task to call MRBR screen and set a Terminating Event for this task. It is a Asynch Method.
Through SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT i am calling the terminating event but my task is not getting terminated.
I checked in SWEL i could see evnt log for my terminating event without Receiver type.
Kindly help me to sort out this issue.

Where have you written the code for triggering the termination event?
Also in your task have you created an entry:
WIOBJECT_ID FIPP TerminatingEvent Name.
When everything is done properly in SWEL you would see the receiver as workitem.

Hi everybody...I have a cancelled job when run only in applications servers , I see a dump "message typeX" , but when job run in Central Instance not cancelled and finish ok.
The name Job is Zcupon and attach to continue dump info , sorry for extended but I want send all information possible.

Hi,
it looks like you have some problem with RFC. It stopped on the following line:
* Communication error in RFC-Call
message x628(ke) with 'RFC_ERROR' subrc msg_text.
Ask your basis guy to check it. The job on application server tried to connect to the central instance and it failed. The job run on central instance does not need to make any RFC call. Hence there is no problem in this case.

Workflow- Adding Terminating event into a Decision Step

Hi
I have a requirement like, in the decision step for example 'Approve' or 'Reject' has to be executed from the web application by triggering a terminating event for this decision step. I have copied the decision BO DECISION to ZDECISION and created two terminating events and make it ashynchrounous. But this step is not getting executed in the workflow showing error as 'no terminating event is attached to the task'.
Any input on this is welcome. If you could reply bit early as I need the information ASAP.

Terminal: Stored Remote Connection with non-standard Port?

Hi,
I am new to MacOS and I am amazed by the integrated terminal. However, I sometimes need to connect to servers which use a non-standard SSH port, for example, 2020. I know that I can manually connect, but for convinience, I'd like to have a saved remote connection including the non-standard port. Is this possible somehow?

I did some experimentation, using Terminal.
Terminal -> New Remote Connection -> Service -> [+]
now enter your own new service which includes
/usr/bin/ssh -p 50022
I found I had to enter a bonjour entry to get it to accept my new service, but once I did, I was able to use that new service with the custom -p 50022 port value.
Your mileage may vary. I still prefer iTerm.

Cannot exit bash in terminal

Recently I had been using a sudo command in terminal: "sudo /System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/MacOS/Finder" to modify certain app icons. I thought I had logged out of terminal correctly after each session, but now my profile in terminal is coming up as:

How do I logout of root and quit bash correctly and return to my default user profile? I have tried typing "exit" in terminal, but that seems to do nothing towards any future terminal sessions.

have you tried the following commands from a different Terminal session?
kill -15 process_ID
kill -1 process_ID
kill -2 process_ID
kill -9 process_ID
(In your image above, process_ID would be the one that corresponds to the Terminal process at the top of the process group that you would like to end — viz 449.)
Try these commands one at a time, observing their effects (if any) in Activity Monitor. If the PID (process ID) of the Terminal that you would like to end changes as a result of one of the kill commands above, you’ll need to adapt the process_ID value that you provide to subsequent kill commands. The signal numbers represent increasing levels of determination to end the particular process group. Note that applications can be coded to make themselves immune to any of the kill commands above, except for the last one.

Way to database and invoke command in terminal? Cool way to trigger?

Hi... I'm thinking about all the code snippets I use... and just put into a text file and have to cut and paste.
Now that I'm getting ARCH savvy it would be great if there was a GURU-like way to have all my command at the ready instead of using the arrow keys to scroll 'back in time' to find the one i want...
IS there a way to trigger off commands that's really smart?

Well, it's kinda random in a way.
Like today I was learing how to get alsa and jack and usb headphones, and and and and and
there's like 40 or 50 distinct lines that I've triggered in terminal a dozen or so of which, I'm still thinking about, wondering this and that about and would like to be able to have in some kind of record.
So, attempting to be cocise here, um, and being pretty poor at it today... hehehe
I'm going thru, what for me is a very big assention to becoming average.... :---)
geez, it's been incredible these past several months and what's starting to happen more and more is I've forgotten stuff, how I did this and how I did that...
So, I keep text files for very program of note.
So JACK has a list of notes and commands.
FFmpeg/recordmydesktop/blender/ WELL.... there's dozens of programs and I'm really into figuring stuff out like so many of us...
So.... really I am quite interested in studying the comments that have been kindly offered to me here today.
great interest in bash, how to use alas and function....SOUNDS GReat!!!
Right now I'm wondering IF I've missed some wonderful app that is a stepping stone to being really fast and efficint with terminal.... or just some novel text file based way of speeding things up AND having all my discoveries at my findertips quickly.....

maybe just having a text file for every program IS a good approach and having the project with all the text files open in bluefish I guess...
there's no way to as yet remember every idiosyncratic thing I learn every day...

Dump while running a program with OLE Excel download facility in ITS

Because of some complex requirment, I had created a report program which will download the data to an Excel sheet using SAP OLE Automation Controller. For this report i had created a tcode too.
The report which i developed is perfectly working fine in SAPGUI. But if i access the same report throught SAP ITS serice. I am getting a dump. Please find below the dump details. I am not able to figure it out why the dump is not coming in SAPGUI.

- The installation of the SAP GUI on the presentation server is

Procedure
1. Make sure that you have imported the appropriate Support
Package, the current kernel, and GUI patch for the release of your
system
2. Check whether the error occurs locally on one or a few PCs, or
generally on all PCs. Note whether the error only occurs for some
users, for example because of a specific Customizing setting.
If it only occurs locally, this suggests an installation problem
with the PC. Check the installation; if necessary, reinstall the

158985).
4.Start the transaction and continue until the screen immediately
before the dump.
5. From the System -> Utilities menu, choose Autom. Queue,

6. If you now proceed with the application, the short dump will
display the ABAP call that caused the error; the Automation Trace
will contain the error on the presentation server.

FYI.....
As I said because of my complex requirement, i am using OLE excel download facilities to download the data. ITS wont support this OLE download facility. This can be done only through local SAP GUI.
The reason for this is that, when i am using this download facility through SAP GUI, OLE object thats used in my report program will directly talk to the Local OLE excel objects (i.e. the local installed Excell application) and download the data. But if it's through ITS, my program wont be able to communicate with the local excel OLE objects because of this i am getting a DUMP.

Abap error when user fi asset using tcode KO88

when the user fi_asset team want to use the transaction the system give and error.
For gurus information, we are facing the number ranges issue. when document type AA that using number ranges from 100006000 - 100006999 have been hit to maximum value in year 2007
so the at the time is we create a another number ranges in documnet type AA using number ranges form 8000000000 - 8999999999 that for year 2007 untill the future
but now when the user want to use this transaction the system have issue the problem.
when the user run the test run mode is no detect any problem but when user make actual run the system give abap error like this below.

If you are facing the error during KO88, there could be a problem with settlement document number range also.
During settlement, a settlement document is created and also related FI, CO, PA documments as applicable.
Please go to t code SNUM, check the number range for CO settlement object:CO_ABRECHN.

GRC 10.1 HR trigger BEGDA

I have faced a problem with HR-trigger:
I need to delimit system in access requests that are created by HR trigger in GRC. I want to delimit valid from(for system) with BEGDA.
BEGDA comes from 0302 IT with MASSN and IT.
I checked lots of notes with describes this problem:
1738853 - UAM: System line item not added for mapped roles in HR req
1970860 - Valid To date of users not getting captured in the HR trigger request for Separation process and HR trigger request not getting due to No user assigned error
1705700 - UAM: Future termination does not work in HR Triggers
1823821 - UAM: HR Trigger delimit date is not captured
1999133 - HR Trigger is not capturing the termination date as end date
Maybe i need to set some parameters in spro?

There is a functionality of default roles, that you could use to add roles to your request by implementing this logic in your BRF rule for HR triggers.
The bad news is that assignment for the default roles based upon Department is not supported.
There are only a certain fields which are supported for the Default Roles assignment, below:
Business Process, Business Subprocess, Company, Role Critical Level, Functional Area, Landscape, Location, Project Release, Role sensitivity, and System.
Lets suppose you can use Functional Area instead of Department. You will need to maintain Default Roles settings in SPRO, at REQUEST level, (parameters 1302, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013).
In NWBC>Access Management>..>Default Roles, make sure that the entry maintained there (for attribute Functional Area) has SYSTEM set to "All Systems" or "All system in the role Landscape".
This should work.
Note 1964884 has a correction for this functionality, so if you go for it, make sure to have this Note applied.
Now, if any of the fields available for Default Roles will be good for your scenario, then it will not be possible to use Role Defaults, thus I am not aware of any customization on this area.
