HREAP not allocating correct ip address!

Hi,
Help please!
I have two sites.
Main site (local) has two Vlans: Vlan1 and Vlan2. Each has its own IP address range.
VLAN 1 is the default Vlan and is used for CORPorate traffic. IP range 10.33.4.*
VLAN 2 is for guest access to the internet IP range 10.10.10.*
I have a WLC4402 on the this site with 2 WLANs: CORP on Vlan1 and GUEST on Vlan2.
I also have..
Branch site (remote) which has 2 Vlans: Vlan1 and Vlan2. Each has its own IP address range.
VLAN 1 is the default Vlan and is used for CORPorate traffic. IP range 10.125.15.*
VLAN 2 is for guest access to the internet IP range 10.10.11.*
I have an 1141 on this site using HREAP.
Each site has its own internet pipe
My Issue is:
Locally, if you connect to CORP, you get a CORP ip address and access to CORP network. If you connect to GUEST, you get a guest ip address and guest access to the guest network. Simple so far....
Remotely, if you connect to CORP, you get a CORP ip address 10.125.15.x and access to CORP network (great). If you connect to GUEST, you get a CORP ip address 10.125.15.x and access to CORP network (not great). This is with the HREAP native vlan ID for the access point set to 2 on the controller.
If I set the native vlan ID to 1 on the controller, I can not get an IP address at all.
If I do not set the native vlan ID on the controller, I can not get an IP address at all.
What am I doing wrong?
Many thanks.

At first what is the idea of the the Hreap?
On the remote side should wireless clients be getting an IP address from that network  or should these be getting an IP from your local network?
Please send us the show run from the remote switch, and show cdp neig.
From the WLC show us the configuration of the AP and thef vlan assignment and the show run-config
Thanks

  • WRT54G Problem- SSID not showing in list & router not sending correct IP address

Everthing was humming along.  Comcast Internet = fine.  WRT54G router, several XP Pro/SP 3 computers, 1 Powerbook + wireless printers. etc = fine.  PCs find network SSID and auto-connect without fail.
Then, Comcast Internet down.  Reboot everything. Network back up.  Computers then get wrong IP Address or do not see SSID.  (No config changes on computers.)
    So I:
    1.  Reinstall WRT54G firmware (v8) - no change.
    2.  Install new fresh WRT54G - using CD to install  - no change
    3.  Update firmware in router used in #2 - no change
    4.  Complete reset cycle and reinstall -no change.
    5.  Repeat same reset with original router -no change
    6.  Using static IP address/default gate way/DNS address - PC finds and connects to SSID but does not access Internet.
Result - no computers find SSID.  (SSID is hidden.) Don't find it when it's not hidden either.
Ethernet cabled PC works just fine.  Gets correct IP Address & Internet  access is fine.
Cable modem = Motorola Surf Board.  No physical locations of any omponent has changed.
Is it possible that both WRT54G's are not working?
Is it somehow a Comcast problem?
Should I try some other router settings?
    Many thanks!

Thanks.  These are great instructions and quite useful for setup.  Unfortunately, my problems seemed much more complex.
In the end, I redidi all the networking from scratch from the router through all the connected devices.  Finally got things back up.  I don't know how, but the Comcast failure seemed to corrupt lots of the settings even if they all looked OK.

  • Help! Can't Connect, DHCP Not Issuing Correct IP Address

I get an vDSL connection and have a home LAN set up with both Ethernet and Airport. Usually, when a computer connects through DHCP, it gets an AP Address of 192.168.0.x, "x" being a number higher than 1, depending on when it connected to the network. My desktop iMac works fine in this regard, with an internal IP address of 192.168.0.5, and the router being 192.168.0.1.
The problem: My Powerbook also used to do this fine, but suddenly this morning it could not connect to the network via Airport or Ethernet, with one or the other turned off, or both turned on.
The key: via Ethernet, the DHCP automatically sets to 10.0.1.4, with the router as 10.0.1.1--which, if I am not mistaken, is the Airport address system. But this is not under "Airport" in the Network control panel, it's under "Ethernet," and thus my problem. I cannot get the danged IP Address to go back to the correct Ethernet address! I tried restarting, turning Airport off, renewing the DHCP license, and trying the assistant features--nothing worked. My Powerbook is completely offline--and I have to use this for my workj in just a few hours!
    Help! Thanks!

OK, never mind. It turns out that I had plugged in the ethernet cable to the wrong port on the Airport base station. Somehow that was mucking everything up. I switched the port, and now it works fine.

  • Time Capsule, DHCP not providing correct gateway address

I have gone back and forth between my AP Extreme and Time Capsule and have determined that Time Capsule is not providing the proper gateway address to my wireless clients. Instead of providing the correct gw address it provides the address I assigned the base station. This is contrary to my Airport Extreme which provides the proper gw address to my wireless clients. Sounds like a bug in the DHCP base station software. Any thoughts?

I have a very similar problem. I originally had cable broadband and a Airport Extreme (AE) upgraded to 7.3.1 all worked fine. The AE was being used as a DHCP server to distribute the dynamic IP address provided by the ISP. I then replaced the AE for a Time Capsule (TC) and installed a new 802.11n Airport Express. I upgraded the TC and AExpress to 7.3.1. The TC was setup identically to the now replaced (disconnected and switched off) AE.
Unfortunately the TC failed to work as a DHCP server. It did not recognize the ISP provided dynamic IP address and replaced it with an 'Invalid' IP address which of course meant no internet access. I then replaced the TC with the original AE (identically set up) and all worked fine, including the AExpress.
While I wait for Apple to fix the TC firmware I am running the AE as the DHCP Server and the TC as a wireless bridge to the AExpress. Time Machine is recognizing Time Capsule and backups from two macs are working fine.

  • Fsbtodb macro in ufs_fs.h does not return correct disk address

I'm using fsbtodb to translate the file inode block address to file system block address.
What I've observed is fsbtodb returns corretct disk address for all the files if file system size < 1 TB.
But, if ufs file system size is greater than 1 TB then for some files, the macro fsbtodb does not return correct value, it returns -ve value
Is this a known issue and is this been resolved in new versions
    Thanks in advance,
    dhd

returns corretct disk address for all the files if file system size < 1 TB.and
if ufs file system size is greater than 1 TB then for some files, the macro fsbtodb does not return correct value, it returns -ve valueI seem to (very) vaguely recall that you shouldn't be surprised at this example of a functional filesize limitation.
Solaris 9 was first shipped in May 2002 and though it was the first release of that OS to have extended file attributes I do not think the developers had intended the OS to use raw filesystems larger than 1TB natively.
That operating environment is just too old to do exactly as you hope.
Perhaps others can describe this at greater length.

  • HREAP not working correctly

    I have a 4404 with 1242's running 6.0.199.0 all ap's are in HREAP mode(at remote sites).
When the controller goes down all users are disconnected.
The SSID in question is using WPA-PSK & has HREAP local switching enabled.
the clients get local IP Addresses and switch locally, just fine, until the controller goes down, then all clients are disconnected immediately.
it was my understanding that when the controller went down, authentication and switching would continue.
not sure if i missed something somewhere.
Thanks for any help in advance.

That shouldn't happen.  As long as you are sure you have local switching and also mapped the AP's ssid to a local vlan, then the ap will have a connection to that local subnet no matter if the WLC is up or down.  Are you sure you mapped the vlan in the h-reap tab on the AP?  I have a test h-reap ap that is configured from a WLC then moved to another subnet where it will never join the WLC again and it works fine using WPA2/PSK.  Again... not know how everything is setup, can you verify that the local dhcp server is issuing the address and not something else?

  • IPFW not showing correct ip address

I am trying to figure out where I might be going wrong. I move my server to a new colocation facility and updated all of the ip addresses. However, when I try to run an ipfw command such as:
$ sudo /sbin/ipfw add 02010 deny ip from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx to  anyin
It returns the wrong ip. Instead what I get is: 02010 deny ip from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx to 67.215.65.132  <--(wrong ip)
Running the following gives me the correct ip.
    $ sudo changeip -checkhostname
    Primary address     = 208.97.56.234
    Current HostName    = arietis.net
The DNS hostname is not available, please repair DNS and re-run this tool.
    dirserv:success = "success"
    I am running Server 10.6.8.
    Thanks.

DNS is usually the second thing that's established and tested after the IP address and gateway router address are configured, and the local DNS here is obviously incorrect.  Given that valid DNS is fundamental to a working server, I'd want to immediately look into and address that diagnostic.  DNS is the basis of most network connections, remote access, certificate-based encryption and distributed authentication.  Bad DNS has a long history of causing weird errors with OS X Server, too.

  • Postal Code not appearing correctly thru ADDRESS statement

    Hi,
I am using ADDRESS - ENDADDRESS to write company code address.
Now, Postal Code of one of the co code is maintained as
5605 LS. However, in the form it is appearing without space i.e
    5605LS.
I just noticed that in function module ADDRESS_INTO_PRINTFORM, once postal code is entered into the string , there is a CONDENSE statement with NO-GAPS that suppresses the spaces.
Kindly advise how i can print postal code with space correctly in form using ADDRESS - ENDADDRESS .
    Thanks
    Nidhi

    Hi Sohit,
We all know that the address will be generated from the FM 'ADDRESS_INTO_PRINTFORM' into a work area. That work area will be of type adrs_print. So that work area contains 10 lines of the address.
Now just observe the line into which the Postal code is populating. Then take that line value i.e for example l_wa_address-line4 into a variable and separate the number(5605) and string (LS).
    concatenate v_postalcode0(4) '   '  v_postalcode4(2) INTO v_string.
    Then write the below code:
    READ TABLE out_tab ASSIGNING <fs_outtab> INDEX l_c_5.
          IF sy-subrc = 0.
            <fs_outtab>-value = v_string.
          ENDIF.
I hope this trick works. Try it out & let me know in case of any issues.
Don't forget to reward if this is useful.
    Pavan.

  • Self-assigned IP (DHCP is not getting correct IP address)

I just moved and got my internet connection not long ago. When the installation people were there, they tested the internet connection by plugging the ethernet cable directly to my girlfriend's macbook (one of those new white macbooks). It worked pretty well. I set the router up then, and it worked fine.
The problem is: I can connect wirelessly to the LAN created by the router (and internet works), but if I try to plug the ethernet cable directly from the modem to my macbook, it will self-assign an IP address and I can't get a connection. This problem has never happened before, and it happens just at home (no matter how many times I try to reboot the modem). The funny thing about it is that it still works if I plug the ethernet cable directly to my girlfriend's macbook instead of mine.
Can anybody give me a suggestion? Just to make sure: my mac (as well as my girlfriend's) runs snow leopard.
    Thanks in advance,
    Davi

    There's no common issue.
All a self-assigned IP address means is that DHCP did not assign you an IP address.
This can occur for a variety reasons, from the DHCP server only issuing one address per network (many DSL modems do this) to running out of addresses (many cable modems will issue up to five but no more, and many routers will not issue more than ten.)
The brute force fix attempt is, as mentioned above, to power off your Macs and other machines, power off the router, then power off the DSL or cable modem. Wait a minute, then power them up in reverse order (DSL/Cable modem, then a minute later the router, then a minute later your PCs/Macs.)

  • Time Capsule not registering correct IP Address

I had no issue when I was on DSL service and when I switched to a Cable modem I am getting the wrong IP Address on my TC. It should be getting a 173 address but instead is assigning to a 169. I have tried power cycling and to no avail. When I hook up the modem directly my MacBook gets the correct address and internet works. But when the TC is in between nothing.

Even though you have tried power recycling, I would suggest that you try the following to get everyone communicating again:
    o Power-down the modem, TC, and computer(s).
o While all the devices are powered-down, perform a "hard" reset on the TC. When completed, power-down the TC.
o Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes.
o Power-up the TC; wait at least 5-10 minutes.
    o Power-up the computer(s).
All devices, whether connected by wire or wireless, to the TC should now be able to access the Internet. Please post back your results.

  • Autodiscover not providing correct server address and UPN

    Hi
System is as follows: Server 2012R2 With Essentials Exp. + Server 2012R2 with Exchange 2013 sp1
And everything is fine and dandy, except for autodiscover, when outside of domain.
All virtual directories are configured as mail.mydomain.com
    PS reports: AutoDiscoverServiceInternalUri :
    https://mail.mydomain.com/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml
Have installed and configured a wildcard ssl certificate, that both servers trust, and I can navigate to both servers using iexplorer:
    https://server.mydomain.com/remote and
    https://mail.mydomain.com/owa
When I run exchangeremoteconnectivity I can succesfully connect with activesync.
I have set up spf and srv record in external DNS
All the users validate using domain\username
So when I try to configure Outlook 2013 using autodiscover, it just hangs at step 1.
And when I try using a galaxy s5, supplying email and password, it populates, but not correctly.
UPN is set as \username, and I need to provide "domain" to make it domain\username
Server is set as domain.com, and I need to provide "mail." to make it mail.domain.com
The I can connect, I suspect that is also why Outlook won´t autoconfigure as well.
I have read high and low, but I need more assistance per se.
    Please advise :)
    Regards Lars

    Hi Lars,
Following are some common procedures to check autodiscover configuration:
    • Run Test-OutlookWebservices | fl
    • Run Test-EmailAutoConfiguration on client to find how autodiscover is connecting and where  exactly it's failing.
    • Verify URL for autodiscover. Get-ClientAccessServer | fl
    Check for AutodiscoverInternalServerUri attribute.
    Get-ClientAccessServer -Identity "CAS-01" | fl AutoDiscoverServiceInternalUri
    Set-ClientAccessServer -Identity "CAS-01" -AutoDiscoverServiceInternalUri "https://cas01.contoso.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml"
    • You may also access the autodiscover url from IE and in response should get "600 invalid request".
    https://cas01.contoso.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml
    • If autodiscover not working for external client verify authentication on Autodiscover virtual directory and if required you may recreate the virtual directory by running command:
    Remove-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory
    New-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory

  • Airport Express Not Capturing Correct IP Address

I've had my iMac G5 for about 18 months. I access the Internet via a cable modem. Last night I lost the ability to access the Internet.
A Comcast technician walked me thru various steps and determined that my modem and computer were working fine, and that I could connect to the Internet when the modem was directly connected via an Ethernet connection to the computer, minus the Airport Express.
Further diagnosis revealed that when connected to the Airport Express, the computer was receiving an incorrect IP address (10.0.1.2) when it should have captured 69.242.229.136 at the time. I'm set for Using DHCP, as necessary. I did resets to the Airport Express but it continues to capture and send the same 10.0.1.2 IP address. The end result is that I can't access the Internet.
    Can you help?
iMac G5 with Airport Express and D-Link Modem   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Below is the online manual for the AE. So you have been using the AE to access the Internet for 18 months and then last night .... poof? If so, use the assistant like they say to configure it. You could also change your Airport card configuration to accept DHCP and let the AE give you that address. Your computer has two ways to connect, so you may be mixing up the wired with the wireless. Wired you would get the 69.xxx.xxx.xxx and wireless you would accept the address from the AE ( use DHCP ) on your AirPort card on your MAC.

  • How can I change the Apple ID that appears on my iPod Touch? It's not the correct ID.

Somehow the email address that appears as my Apple ID when opening my iPod Touch (5th gen) is not my correct email address/Apple ID.  How can I change my Apple ID withing my Touch so I can access apps?

You might have to transfer purchases to your account. If its signed in on a different account. Or,
    1. Go to iTunes on your iPod.
    2. Click music and scroll down to the bottom on your iPod.
    3. It should show the apple ID that's signed in, and press it and choose sign out.
    4. Then click sign in and it should work.
    Hope this helps.

  • Clients not receiving DHCP IP address from HREAP centrally Switched Guest SSID

    Hi All,
I am facing a problem in a newly deployed branch site where the Clients are not receiving DHCP IP address from a centrally switched Guest SSID. I see the client status is associated but the policy manager state is in DHCP_REQD.
The dhcp pool is configured on the controller itself. The local guest clients are able to get DHCP and all works fine, the issue is only with the clients in the remote site. The Hreap APs are in connected mode. Could you please suggest what could be the problem. Below is the out of the debug client.
