HRMS Applicant Entry

Hi there,
I am facing a problem in R12 instance HRMS-Applicant Entry Form.
When i am entering an applicant and saving it is giving the error message like :
" APP_FND_01206 : this record already exists, you entered a duplicate value or sequence of values that must be unique for every record."
The applicant number is generated as automatic numberBut still i am getting this message.
But when i am entering the applicant using Enter people and maintain form -
It is allowing to save the applicant and also that record is visible in applicant entry form.
Can anyone suggest me the solution for this type of message.

We came across similar type of issue in Oracle Receivables, so the fix was given in the metalink Note:182897.1,
I think it is again a similiar kind of issue but i am not sure.. you can refer that note..it might you a some idea what the issue might be

I just created an applicant using PB40 and that applicant entry is available in table PB0001 but this applicant is not available in HRP1000 for object type 'ND'.

Dear Customer,
When you create an applicant in PB10, you create object type AP and then in PB40 you can create Organizational Assignment. In this case a link B048 in HRP1001 will be created between applicant AP and position S. Then you create IT4001 record when an applicant is attached to a job advertissement. Applications are stored in PB4002 table and not PB0001. Hope it helps,

Application (WMF 3.0) won't install during maintenance window, but will install when there is no maintenance window

Hi All,
I'm just getting into the Application model in SCCM 2012 R2 and I like what I see so far, but i'm running into an issue. When i set up an Application for WMF 3.0 with a prerequisite of .Net 4.0 and deploy it to a set of test systems that do not have
any maintenance windows applied to it, it works great. If it doesn't have .Net 4.0 it installs both that and WMF 3.0 and reboots. If it already has .Net 4.0, it will skip that and just install WMF 3.0 and reboot.
However, if i deploy it to systems that have a maintenance window applied, the application recognizes that it needs .Net and WMF 3.0 or just WMF 3.0, but it never actually runs.
Here is the applicable entry from the appintenteval.log, and i've bolded the line where it shows that WMF 3.0 is not installed

I've done a little more experimenting. I've changed my maintenance window back to 30 minutes. Prior to the MW opening, i'll run an application evaluation deployment cycle on the system. It will show the system as required WMF 3.0 but since
the MW isn't open, it won't install at the time.
When the MW opens, i'll watch the ServiceWindowManager.log and it sees that it's a 30 minute MW and that the run time is 15 minutes but it still says the program can't run:

This is not the behavior i would expect. I would think that if the client knows it has a pending application deployment that is required, when the MW opened up, it would start the install immediately or close to the beginning of the MW. It shouldn't
need to have an application evaluation deployment cycle kicked off during the MW.

Clearing customer down payment without VAT code

Dear Freinds
For normal cleared items ( between invoices and incoming payments) the VAT code doen't appear.
But while clearing a Customer Down payment request, when we are using a sp. GL Indicator it is asking for tax code
I want to clear customer down payment without tax code.According to the local legal requirement in the VAT report should not appear any clearing with tax code even if Tax code has no tax.
Can anybody help me?? I tried changing the tax category of Sp. Gl Recon account to blank but then it doesn't allow to post a down payment request with tax applicable.

Only thing which I need is that at time of clearing the down payment request, putting tax code should not be mandatory.Just like when I am clearing a normal invoice (Inv. and incoming payment) no tax code is required.

Down payment without VAT

Dear All,
I have a question u2013 is it possible to post down payment without VAT posting?
Currently our Vendor/Customer down payments produce VAT postings and when are cleared with final invoice. But according local requirements VAT posting must be done and VAT receivable can be reported only then final invoice is produced. There is not possible change tax code in down payment requests from SD or MM.
Do you have any suggestions?

Fill DDL based on other field values in offline interactive adobe form

I have a requirement where in i need to fill the values for a dropdown list based on 3 other field values in offline adobe interactive forms which uses web service to interact with SAP.

Hi Soumya,
It is possible but a little bit tough and will make your form heavier.
The solution is advisable only when there is not very much data required for the drop down(May be not more than 500 values as it will create performance issue).
You can create a hidden table on the form contaning data for all the combinations. Depending on the selection of another 3 fields you can write the code to select only those values from this hidden table which are applicable to that selection. These values you can add to the drop down list removing the previous values.
Only you have to do is on calculate or vlaidate event of target DDL you have to write your code.
Pseudocode:
1. Clear your DDL using deleteItem() method.
2. Loop at your hidden table.
3. Inside the loop check for applicable entries depending on selection in other 3 fields.
4. Select the appropriate vlaues
5. Add using additem method().
Refer formCalc or JavaScript help for the appropriate code.

HR auths - P_PERNR

Hi Authorisations people,
I have a quick question about the P_PERNR authorisation object: If a role has both P_PERNR and P_ORGIN, how does it behave for someone's own data if there is no applicable entry in P_PERNR? Does it take the P_ORGIN permissions or does it just disallow the operation? I guess the question is, if P_PERNR exists, does SAP then ignore P_ORGIN for own personnel number accesses?

First of all lets take
P_ORGIN what it does--- gives access to a set of people's data (to read change etc).
Now in this there are two scenarios
1 you are a part of this set:
So when you are trying to manipulate your data
the P_PERNR takes precedence over P_ORGIN so if in
P_PERNR you have Exclude value (E) (value for PSIGN in P_PERNR) set for set of infotypes for which you have access to from P_ORGIN then you will not be able to go to your data even if P_ORGIN allows you to.
2 you are not a part of this set of people (to which P_ORGIN gives you access) you have access to then
again it checks for P_PERNR for access regarding what access you have got for ur own data.
and gives access to the Infotypes for which you have Include (I) set for PSIGN field in P_PERNR.
Now this P_PERNR works iff,
1.OOAC switches are activated
2. You have the 0105 infotype for the System ID maintained.
otherwise the P_PERNR has no controlling effect whatso ever.

In INDIA when we receive the invoice from transporters we have to calculate the service tax on the 25% of the invoice amount and the TDS as per the rates applicable entry should automatically be like this when we will use the service tax code eg

TDS payable basic       Cr 2500
Surcharge                    Cr 250

Now the issue is when i use the tax code in SAP it posts a different transcation like

this are the steps for calculating Service tax for Transportation (GTA)
Create new entries with GTA as the Official withholding tax key name
Create withholding tax type using the path
Create withholding tax code using the path
Note: when u create tax code u should select '3' for posting indicater under postings
Assign the withholding tax type to the company code using the path
Maintain G/L accounts for the debit entries using the path

E-Recruiting Invite to Apply Activity

In E-Recruiting (we have 6.0) there is a delivered corresponsdence HRRCF_CS_EXA_APPL_REQUEST which is associated with the 1050 Invite to Apply Activity. We have assigned this activity to TRM (Talent Relationship Mangement) and to Applicant Entry in Candidate Shortlist. The delivered correspondence will pull the Job Title, Reference Code, etc from the requistion/posting.
If processing this activity from TRM, I don't see a way to associate the invitation with a requisition from there. I understand that the correspondence could be customized to add the req info, but that is a lot of manual work. If you do it from the Candidate Shortlist, the req information shows on the Invitation, but in order to do that, they already have to have an application, so it doesn't make sense to perform this activity from Candidate Shortlist.
Can someone help me understand how this Invite to Apply activity is supposed to be used?

Well,
yes it might not prevent the recruiter working with him.
But the key activities you can use for the process, might be defined on ND (application). So you cannot create them, if there is no application. E.G. the acknowledgement letter or the rejection letter.
If the candidate does not apply, you just can reject him. So he will move out of the list. The standard implementation will not create a rejection letter in this case. Just in case, an application is existing.
So you might distinguish activities for internal processing on each assignment (NE) and activities for application specific communication (ND).
But this is something you need to design. In case of a normal processing, a recruiter normally looks on what already happened ( which activities were created ). So he will just move on if all preconditions are fulfilled. So you need a process design.

KDE Dolphin's "Places" vs. symbolic links

I have a Netgear ReadyNAS Duo on my home network and it is comfigured to share via CFS (NFS is disabled). From what I can tell this device is running a chopped down version of Debian. If I create a link to a share using KDE's GUI tools, the share link appears in Dolphin's "Places". While this is nice and convenient for when you're in Dolphin, it appears almost useless for anything else. No other apps see the link to the share in their dialog boxes. So I decided to go with the method of creating an empty directory (~/archives) and then I put in the applicable entry in /etc/fstab. After discovering the noauto option for fstab, this works fine.
Here is where I am scratching my head: As an example I have a directory within the share that is named "(1979) - Degüello". When navigating the file tree using the Places link, the umlaut shows just fine. However, when doing this via my mountpoint, the umlaut shows up as a symbol that looks like a question mark inside of a black diamond. And I just noticed that it appears I have read-only access through the mountpoint, but full r/w access through places.
Am I not getting to my destination via smb in both cases? And if I am, why am I seeing these discrepencies? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Looping over a TreeMap with for|foreach

I am a student programmer and am impressed how the APIs for the different collections are very similar if not completely identical.
I used treemap.keySet() to loop over TreeMap<String, MyVeryOwnClass> successfully with a while loop. But it seems impossible to do the same with the newish for-each loop. Or have I missed the point somewhere?

Okay, I've got the for/each loop working its way through my Applicant TreeMap as follows:

Trouble is, it is grabbing the key of the first applicant it encounters regardless of whether approved is either true or false! I have gone nuts over this, stepping through in the debugger, inserting println statements to check the value of approved when it is retrieved, attempting to desk check, etc.
So what is the obvious error to which I am completely blind?

HRMS Localization Seed Data Entry

Hi All,
We're still on 11i and are going to upgrade to R12 shortly.
We're on multiple business groups and use the responsibility "HRMS Localization Seed Data Entry" to build all payroll related setup.
Since Oracle doesn't recommend using this responsibility as it's for their internal use, Please advise if there's any risk or expected issues when/after the R12 upgrade.

According to [ID 850007.1] which is applicable to R12 (12.1.1), this responsibility can be used. However, I would suggest you log a SR since none of the MOS docs talk about this responsibility after the upgrade.

TO ADD A CUSTOM ENTRY IN RIGHT CLICK POP UP MENU IN ORACLE HRMS FLEX FIELDS

We are building a custom help for Oracle HRMS. For this I need to add a custom Help entry in the right click pop up menu. I did this by adding the code APP_POPUP.INSTANTIATE('POPUP10','Custom Help',TRUE,'LINE') in the APPCORE lib. After this change the right click menu shows the new entry 'Custom Help' when user right clicks in any of the form but the new entry Custom Help' doesn't show up when I right click in flexfields. I am sure I need to do some thing else for flex fields.. Does any one have any idea on this ?

You have to refer to the Current Form, Current Block , Current Item so that the menu appears only in the form where you want to see.

Does anybody know if there are any changes in FP.K regarding Creation of Element Entries and Absence Monitoring Window?
I can see the record in ELEMENT ENTRIES for Annual Leave for days entitled
(tables affected HR.pay_element_entries_f and HR.pay_element_entry_values_f)
but in Absence Window the Remaining Balance is not changed. (from view PAY_VIEW_ACCRUAL_PLANS_V )
If anyone has any idea of how this is handled it will be highly appreciated.

I don't think you will find any one place for this documentation!
Try some of the following:
The 'product' is sometimes known as 'availability'. That may help MetaLink searches.
The functionality was delivered in patch 4429140.
That patch was then included in HR FP.K RUP1 and RUP2. Their redmes may contain soemthing about it.
The ebst docuemntation I have found is in MetaLink note 414834.1 which in turn relates to a number of other notes.
