does hrms org structure inclunde business entity? if yes, what is definition of business entity? what is the difference between business entity and operating unit?

from above info, can i say BE is more like an org, it may be a simly or mutilorg. in multiorg condition, BE=BG, it includes OU, GRE, SOB?

  • New Operating Unit creation - GL or HRMS

    Please i ve a great doubt, please advice which is right approach....
    Using General Ledger -Accounting Setup manager under Primary ledger there is a option to create new Operating unit by attaching LE and BG.
    If i do so i get new OU and my other sub modules in Financials(AP,AR,CM.FA) are operational ...
    using HRMS - organization i can designate any Company organization as Operating unit,so that New operating unit would be created this way also.
    Kindly advice which is the best way to create new Operating Unit...
    and also in Projects implementation setup ...starting organization LOV represent OU from HRMS or org Hierarchy...

    I create 3 OUs this using GL > Accounting Setup Manager ... under the primary Ledger (by attaching LE and BG).....but I am not able to find/search that in HR under Work structures > Organization > Description. Although it is available in the LOV while defining the profile option "MO: Operating Unit" ....and it is present in the Database table '*hr_all_organization_units*' too with the 'Type' column as empty (ideally it should be 'OU').
    It makes me feel that in any case I would have to create the OU in HR as a mandatory setup!....am I correct?

  • The expenditure organization is not active for Expense Report

    Greetings to all,
    We ran into a problem, where a person submitted an expense report with project related information. The exp report gets an error in the workflow. When we look at the workflow error message is: This expense report failed payables validation.
    When we look at the notification for error message, shows the expense report and for the line that has a problem, gives the following error message:
    "The expenditure organization is not active."
    We check the org in HRMS, we look up the org and has the following setups:
    HRMS-->work structures--> organization (query the cost center)
    then when looking at the cost center has the following:
    under organization classifications:
    Project Expenditure/Event Organization
    Project Task Owning Organization
    HR Organization
    Then looking at hrms-->organization--->hierarchy
    query for hierarchy-->we get our hierarchy,
    then under organization-->query again for our main org, we see then the subordinates which we see the cost center again.
    Everything looks good our point of view.
    If have researched this issue on ML and have read the following notes: 423267.1, but this does not resolve our issue.
    If someone has encountered this problem, can you share the additional steps to troubleshoot this issue.

    It turns out that the employees were on LOA on the dates that they were charging time. So the message didn't really describe what the actual problem was. What happened is that the employees had gone on LOA and then returned to work, but HR had not yet returned them to active assignment. They entered their timecards as they normally had, but they did not pass validation because they weren't active on the dates they were trying to charge.
    I would have looked at the assignment earlier in the process if the error message had been employee-oriented instead of referring to the org, but at least the problem is solved. Thanks for everybody's input!

    we was working on a some custom report XML Publisher report.
    After some patching on system, all reports gives error like "your Operating unit should be set" i dont have exact error trace.
    I did not find any solution in reference of HRMS.
    I have made a organization and classify as "Operating Unit" and then set "HR Operating Unit" Profile with this organizaton name.
    After that i did not get this error.
    After doing this corrective action i was having questions in my mind that " What is imprtance of Operating unit in HRMS" .?

    Type is one part of Org creation....
    Optionally, select an organization type in the Type field.
    Organization types do not classify your organization, you use them for reporting purposes only. The type may identify the function an organization performs, such as Administration or Service, or the level of each organization in your enterprise, such as Division, Department or Cost Center. You create the organization types you require by entering values for the Lookup Type ORG_TYPE.

  • New employee organization hierarchy version in HRMS doubles dashboard totals in OBIEE

    On creation of a new version of the Employee Organization hierarchy, some of the OBIEE dashboards & analyses that were oracle seeded function show ...
    Total Employee headcount  =   total employee headcount from hierarchy ver 1 + total emp headcount hierarchy ver 2
    Which is incorrect and misleading in the reports. (Similar issues for FTE..... )
    Firstly, is this normal ----- or has the versioning been implemented incorrectly, or is there missing aggregation at the Ebusiness, BI rpd or dashboard level?
    Secondly, what is the best solution to display the relevant hierarchy based on the report dates?
    If there is further aggregation needed, how can this be added without needing to update it every time a new employee organization hierarchy version is copied?

  • OIM 11g: SAP HRMS User Recon gives error

    I am using the SAP ER (Employee Reconciliation) connector, version Version: 9.1.2.2. I have upgraded to bundle patch 3 (BP3).
    Connectivity to SAP works. I have run the manager recon, org recon and it brought in values.
    When I try to reconcile users (using limited reconciliation) from IDOCS, it finds the user, creates a reconciliation event but ignores it. On querying the recon event the reason given for not linking is "Data Validation Failed"

    "Invalid ManagerLogin : 10000037" 10000037 is the org number in the lookup and its corresponding personnel number 00016901 is not being picked up.
    There is a known bug that if a user with that personnel number (i.e 00016901) does not exist in OIM 11g then OIM will not insert the record (bug 9688099), so to work around this, I added that personnel number to a user in OIM (USR_UDF_PERSONNEL_NUMBER). Still the same.
    Has anyone seen a similar error? Any ideas on what I could be missing? Troubleshooting tips?
    Has anyone implemented this version of the connector?

    This turned out to be an Oracle bug.
    Bug 9539918 - BOTH MANAGER ID FIELD AND ORG UNIT FIELD IS DISPLAYED WITH ORG UNIT VALUE
    This has been fixed in9.1.2.4 version of the connector. Patch11656991

    2. Associate the Org payment method to the Payroll(Payroll Description -> Valid Payment Method)
    3. Create a third party Organization (External) Org Classification as Payee Organization.
    4. Create the element (check the Third Party Payment check box)
    5. Create a third party Personal Payment method for the employee.(Name - Organizational Payment Method name,
    payee type- Organization, Name - party Organization name.
    6. Attach the third party element ( Give the payee details)
    7. Run payroll and post payroll processes

    I hope someone will be able to help me on this.
    From what I gathered in Oracle Documentation, the Employer is represented in HRMS as an enterprise structure and the Business Group is the highest Organization classification that serves as a container for all Organizations, Employees and other objects within it.
    However, I observed an Organization Classification "Employer" in the Define Organizations Screen.
    Does this mean that in fact the organization classification of the topmost organization in Oracle HRMS that serves as the container for ALL of the employees, is in the fact the "Employer" Organization Classification?

    To determine the purpose and use of each organization you create, you give it one or more classifications. The setup information you enter for an organization depends in large part on its classification.
