HRMS Upgrade

Hi,
We have modules Payroll, OTA, HR Intelligence, and Employee Self-service and Manager Self-Service and Basic HR. We are looking at the installation of 11.5.10.
1. Is there a problem with this selection or known problems with it implementation?
2. How long do we expect to be down in regards to the migration to production? What type of data entry blackout period do you anticipate?
Thanks in Advance.
Hardeep

what is your actual version?
11.5.10 seems stable to me.

  • HRMS Upgrade Guide

    I know that Oracle has published an upgrade guide from 11i to R12 (Oracle Financials and Oracle Procurement Functional Upgrade Guide: Release 11i to Release 12).
    Is there the same guide available for the HRMS? That is that I'm looking for a functional type guide to outline the changes from 11i to R12?
    Thanks,

  • EBS 11i HRMS Upgrade

    Dear Team,
    I would like to here your expert suggestion/opinion on Upgrade 11i HRMS to Release 12 existing instance. following are the brief on existing environment and scenario:
    One of our client already running Two isolated Releases of Oracle Application which include Release 12 (Financial,SCM) modules and Release 11i (HRMS,self-service,irecruitment) modules, now they wanted to upgrade their Release 11i HRMS instance into Release 12 and then consolidate into single instance.
    I need your expert opinion on the database consolidation phase. What is the workaround should I adopt to achieve this sort of up-gradation?
    I really appreciate your high level steps if possible.

  • Do we have to upgrade HRMS 11.5.10.2 Family Pack I to Family Pack K?

    Hi,
    Just a really quick question. Do we need to do a HRMS upgrade from 11.5.10.2 Family Pack I to Family Pack K to get isetup working? Our DBA has identified through analyzing the recommended patches (for 11.5.10.2) that this is a pre-requisite. We really want to try and minimise testing\effort in getting isetup working.. can we avoid applying some patches? is there an alternative? or do we need to be on family pack K and apply all the recommended patches?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Well I really want to know if we have to apply the patch 5201280 which has the prequisite of being on Family pack K.. Can we skip this patch?
    The README file of Patch 5201280 says you need to have (Patch 3333633 - Oracle HRMS Family Pack J) applied as a pre-req. (NOT Family pack K).

  • Upgrading HRMS from 11.03 to 11i

    I am interested in any information about upgrading HRMS version 11.03 to 11i. What were your experiences? What were the business benefits realised? Why did you go the 11i route? Did you use Self Service and which version?

    Since you ask multiple questions, you may have to get multiple replies - or be asked follow-up questions to clarify your situation.
    It's a pretty big leap from 11.3 to 12.1 I would not install the new system over the top of your old. Just doing an install of 12.1, you should still be able to run your existing setups with no changes - at least none that come to mind as far as GenData/GenPrint are concerned. So immediately after install (and with a path change) you should be able to test your previous runs against new runs.
    The BIGGEST difference from 11. 3 to 12.1 is that you will be moving from the old Image Editor and separate tools up to the DMStudio managed model. This means you will need to create a workspace for Studio to manage. The workspace creation wizard will ask to import your resources into a workspace. Normally, I again suggest that you allow this to create a new table for your resources so that your old system continues to function as you find your way around in the new world.
    I don't think the library layout changed between 11.3 and 12.1, but you probably still don't want to modify your existing setup until you know you have good output using 12.1. You will likely end up with more resources under library management after the fact than before.
    The DMStudio wizard will create tables for you if you have the rights to do so. If not, then the page will offer for you to generate the DDLs to give to an DBA that can.
    A lot of this should be documented either in the install guide or in the document that specifically addresses DMStudio.

  • Impact on OAF Personalization/Customizations - Upgrade from R12.1.3 to 12.2.4

    Hi All,
    1) I would like to know if we need to re-deploy the OAF personalizations if we migrate from EBS 12.1.3 to 12.2.4?
    As per my understanding, after upgrade, personalizations would remain intact in MDS (jdr_* tables) layer but we need to perform testing and correct any layout error etc. if it is not in line with 12.2.4. However, re-deployment is not required.
    2) I also have a second questions wrt OAF customizations (i.e; VO extension, CO extension, Custom pages/regions). I assume we need to redeploy the customizations.
    It would be great if you can guide me on this.
    Regards,
    K

    1. Would R12.1.5 need separate license? Or, R12.1.3 license would cover R12.1.5 as this looks like an incremental upgrade.Same license (assuming you already have HRMS license).
    2. Not finding good documentation on R12.1.5 on metalink. Is there a RVP that can be shared if any of you have it with you.If you are referring to HRMS Release Update Pack 5 for Release 12.1 then you should have the docs referenced above.
    3. This probably should have been my first question. Is R12.1.5 a public release? I ask this question as I do not see good information available on upgrade road map to R12.1.5.The latest 12.1.x release is 12.1.3 and Oracle has no plans to release any higher 12.1.x releases -- The next release will be 12.2
    4. Can these features in R12.1.5 be applied as one-off patches on R12.1.3?Again, if you are referring to HRMS Release Update Pack 5 for Release 12.1 then the answer is "Yes".
    Thanks,
    Hussein

  • Installing 12.1.1 upgrade driver, sess disconnected & now adpatch fails

    We are upgrading EBS HRMS QA instance from 11.5.10.2 to 12.1.1 in hrdev (10.37.2.4) machine.
    =================================================
    I had a telnet session from my desktop machine to the AIX 6.1 server machine.
    While Installing 12.1.1 upgrade driver, i.e.
    $ su – applqa
    $ cd /u06_qa/oracle/apps/apps_st/appl/au/12.0.0/patch/115/driver
    $ adpatch options=nocopyportion,nogenerateportion
    This created adpatch_u6678700_12Jun2010.log (attached)
    When we were in the following stage, my session with remote machine got down as my machine power went down.
         Worker 1 running adobjcmp.sql
    This resulted in abnormal termination of adpatch process on the server as you are well aware that it runs as active session from your putty console.
    Once I recreated new telnet session with 10.37.2.4, I rerun adpatch like following:
    $ su – applqa
    $ cd /u06_qa/oracle/apps/apps_st/appl/au/12.0.0/patch/115/driver
    $ adpatch options=nocopyportion,nogenerateportion
    Once I restarted adpatch session, it said, do you want to continue your old session, I said yes, and through adctrl I stopped worker 1 (running adobjcmp.sql), even though there was no such process at OS level.

  • OIM 11g: SAP HRMS User Recon gives error

    Hello,
    I am using the SAP ER (Employee Reconciliation) connector, version Version: 9.1.2.2. I have upgraded to bundle patch 3 (BP3).
    Connectivity to SAP works. I have run the manager recon, org recon and it brought in values.
    When I try to reconcile users (using limited reconciliation) from IDOCS, it finds the user, creates a reconciliation event but ignores it. On querying the recon event the reason given for not linking is "Data Validation Failed"
    [2011-03-09T11:00:53.088-08:00] [oim1] [NOTIFICATION] [IAM-5010000] [oracle.iam.reconciliation.impl] [tid: OIMQuartzScheduler_Worker-1] [userId: xelsysadm] [ecid: 0000IuRuoQM9d_w_wD0FyW1DTwVJ00000Q,0] [APP: oim#11.1.1.3.0] [dcid: c4ab19921fd287b5:377e40a5:12e9be68f89:-7ffa-0000000000000354] [arg: ignoreEvent Input Data : {Personnel Number=00011070, Street=1775 Milmont Dr, Postal Code=95035, Organization=Xellerate Users, Employee Type=Full-Time, Org Unit=10000037, Country=US, Middle Name=V, Cost Center=, User ID=00011070, City=Milpitas, Group=1, User Type=End-User, Manager ID=10000037, Status=Active, User Created From HRMS=1, Telephone Number=4081233339, District=Cnt#1, Position=00000026, Sub Group=FS, Last Name=Khan, First Name=Salman}] Generic Error/Information: ignoreEvent Input Data : {Personnel Number=00011070, Street=1775 Milmont Dr, Postal Code=95035, Organization=Xellerate Users, Employee Type=Full-Time, Org Unit=10000037, Country=US, Middle Name=V, Cost Center=, User ID=00011070, City=Milpitas, Group=1, User Type=End-User, Manager ID=10000037, Status=Active, User Created From HRMS=1, Telephone Number=4081233339, District=Cnt#1, Position=00000026, Sub Group=FS, Last Name=Khan, First Name=Salman}
    On Re-evaluating the event, I see a different error in the logs:

    "Invalid ManagerLogin : 10000037" 10000037 is the org number in the lookup and its corresponding personnel number 00016901 is not being picked up.
    There is a known bug that if a user with that personnel number (i.e 00016901) does not exist in OIM 11g then OIM will not insert the record (bug 9688099), so to work around this, I added that personnel number to a user in OIM (USR_UDF_PERSONNEL_NUMBER). Still the same.
    Has anyone seen a similar error? Any ideas on what I could be missing? Troubleshooting tips?
    Has anyone implemented this version of the connector?
    Regards,
    Sunny

    This turned out to be an Oracle bug.
    Bug 9539918 - BOTH MANAGER ID FIELD AND ORG UNIT FIELD IS DISPLAYED WITH ORG UNIT VALUE
    This has been fixed in9.1.2.4 version of the connector. Patch11656991

    In note 165195.1 using autoconfig to manage Configurations with oracle systems under patching autoconfig, says apply patch 9525311.
    which one should be applying?

    The doc says "Also apply patch 9835302" in addition to AutoConfig patches, so you need to apply both -- (Patch 9835302 and Patch 9535311).

  • APP-FND-00874 when running Geocode Upgrade Manager

    Hello,
    We are in the process of impementing payroll in our R12.0.6 environment. We have applied HRMS RUP9, "US & Canada End of Year 2011 Statutory Update Phase 1 for R12.0 " patches as they are mandaotory for R12.0.X payroll implentation for US and Canada.
    A post patch step for Patch "US & Canada End of Year 2011 Statutory Update Phase 1 for R12.0 " is to run "Geocode Upgrade Manager" Program.
    We are trying to run this program from CA HRMS Manager or CA Payroll Manager responsibility.
    When we hit the Submit button to submit the request. It throws the following error:
    "APP-FND-00874: Routine FDFBDF found no rows in table FND_DESCRIPTIVE_FLEXS. Please contact your system administrator or support representative."
    Please let us know how to troubleshoot this....

    I am thinking of compiling all flexfields through adadmin once.
    Please provide anymore pointers if possible ....Please do and see if it helps.
    Also, run the compile flexfield concurrent program from the application -- How To Re Compile A Concurrent Program Parameter Descriptive Flexfield ( DFF ) [ID 1209897.1]
    By the way, do you have any invalid objects in the database?
    Thanks,

  • Release 11i to Release 12 upgrade or Re-Implement. Which is better?

    Hi Customer,
    One of our customers has implemented Oracle Applications 11i (11.5.9) [Oracle Financials] on Linux (Single Node).
    They are planning to implement Oracle HRMS and also wants to upgrade to R12 and Oracle Discoverer 10g.
    They want to know which of the following is the best option with regard to the above?
    1. upgrade from 11.5.9 to R12 and then implement Oracle HRMS
    2. upgrade from 11.5.9. to 11.5.10.2 then upgrade to R12 and then implement Oracle HRMS
    3. Re-implement Oracle Financials R12 and then implement Oracle HRMS
    I have suggested the 1st option but customer wants to know the pros and cons in re-implementing Oracle Financials in R12 and then implementing Oracle HRMS
    Any suggestion would be appreciated.
    Rgds,
    Thiru

    Thiru,
    Customer told me that business models have not changed and the organization structure too has not changed.Well, in this case I believe the upgrade should be the choice.
    Customer feels that it MAY be easier to re-implement Oracle Financials in new R12 environment compared to the complex upgrade process from 11.5.9 to R12.Technical perspective, it is true as you just need to do a fresh installation and apply couple of patches, and you are done.
    I told them the cost of re-implementation on R12 will be much higher than Upgrade to R12If the customer is willing to afford the re-implementation cost then let them go with it. Though for you the fresh installation would be less challenging compared to the upgrade, but you would have less headache ;)
