HS 950

brand new headset
windows 7 - 64 bit
latest firmware and drivers and all windows updates.
using vent and the sound after a random period of time goes all robotic and until i remove the usb lead i am unable to listen or talk to anyone. after replacing it is fine for about the same time frame and then problem happens again.
this also effects the sounds from other apps including windows media player etc at the time.
what can i do but return the headset ? is it safe to say this headset is not compatiable with ventrilo ?
please help.

hey, me and 1 other ( from what i have found yet ) got the same problem.
heres the post where the other guys is telling his problems, i also replyed to it.

  • HP HSC 950 Printer "Press to Align Cartridges" loop - how do I get it to print?

    Hi,
I have a HP HSC 950 All-In-One printer that always returns to the display message "press enter to align print cartridges", even after a complete print alignment is performed and looks fine.   I can't get past this to print anything.   I've wasted a lot of ink and time trying to get past this message.  Can anyone help?
I encouter this error when the printer is plugged into a notebook running Windows XP or when it is connected to a router that accepts print jobs from i-mac computer running OS 10.4.   The link below should get you to the HP page featuring the product I am writing about.
    Thanks in advance

The solution was to replace the color cartridge, as suggested in a previous post by Bob Headrick.  Thanks, Bob!

The message you are seeing is a result of the alignment not completing.  Load fresh plain white paper then press enter to print an alignment page.  THe alignment will not succeed if the color cartrdige is empty.  Steps to troubleshoot alignment failures are available here.

  • I need help, my iMac is swamped with video data,  1 TB of space and 950 GB is used by my video data! Help... its getting ugly

I have a 1 TB IMac, 950 GB of my iMac HD have been eaten alive by my Video Recordings of family events using my canon vixia hf 100 HD recorder.  I cannot use my computer now, due to lack of space on the hard drive.  I now own two 2 tb external hard drives.  All I want to do is make 2 DVD copies of each video event from imovie and have one back up of each event on one of my externals and another backup in my time machine which is on the other external.  It takes so long to transfer data  from my canon vixia hf 100 through imovie to a DVD.  I have swamped my Imac HD, and can't even burn a dvd to loosen the byte load.  Can i transfer my whole iMovie library to my free 2tb external and utilize it to maintain and store all iMovie data?????
    Help!

Depending on which version of iMovie you have it could be very easy, when you attach the external hdd to the mac it will appear in iMovie as one of the 'locations' where projects/events can reside. And you would move them ONLY from within iMovie, not outside of it. This will help keep any current projects and the events associated with them from breaking.
This is how it would work, attach the external hdd. Open iMovie go to the Projects Browser. Make sure you can see the external hdd in the list of devices. You then can drag the project directly over the icon of the external hdd. iMovie will ask you, do you want to move Events associated with this project? Go ahead and say yes and it will move the Events over too. So you might ask what about the events not already in a project? Well you can do the same thing down in the Event Browser too. Only you want to make sure iMovie knows you want to see all the hard drives attached to your computer not just the internal one. So there's an icon in the top right corner of the Event browser called Group Events by Disk. It has a cartoon icon of a hard drive on it. Just click it once to turn this on. You should now see the external hdd in the list. Drag all your Events onto that disk. So now for the moment of truth,. . .
Go up to your project browser and open up one of the projects FROM the external hdd and skim it, edit, add do something with it. Switch to a different project on the external try the same thing. Go down to the Event browser and check out some events on the External HDD as well. It should all be the same as it was on the Internal HDD. Last Step: Delete the now duplicate/original Events/Projects on the Internal HDD. You have perfect working copies on the external and do not need to keep the originals on the Internal HDD. Any time from this point forward you will only open Events/Projects from the external hdd and save back to that location. And iMovie will take care of the rest of it for you.

  • GMA X3100 vs. GMA 950

I got 2 MacBooks, the mid 2007 and the late 2007.
The mid 2007 got an Intel GMA 950 video card with 64 MB.
The late 2007 got an Intel GMA X3100 video card with 144 MB.
The graphics, Exposé, video, open GL tests look smooth & nice on GMA 950 (64 MB).
However, on the newer GMA X3100, the graphics look slow, including the screensaver, even the mac waiting cursor looks a bit slow.
I went to Best Buy to check if the other mac did the same, and they did.
What do you think? Just a driver issue, or what is going on, GMA X3100 was supposed to be better, ironically, it works better in bootcamp than GMA 950, but not in Leopard.

There's two things you can do:
    1. Submit the issue(s) via the feedback link for the MacBook which will be directed to the appropriate parties within Apple.
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/macbook.html
You won't get a response, so if you're looking to troubleshoot the issue or send the machine in for repair than you'd need to go the route of AppleCare.
    2. If both machines are less than a year old (they sound like it), you'd qualify for the one-year limited hardware warranty. If you choose not to buy AppleCare on your machine and it's older than 90-days you would be subject to a nominal fee to speak with an AppleCare technician for your specific issue.

  • Sims 3 with a GMA 950 Graphic Card?

I really want to use the sims 3 on my macbook. It's a few years old. I looked in System Profiler and saw that i have a GMA 950 graphics card? I'm going to upgrad my memory to 2GB. Will it be possible to play the game?
    Thanks for the help!

It may work, but the graphics card is NOT supported. I saw this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9573469&#9573469
Which doesn't clearly state if the users were successful or not with the Mac version of Sims 3.
Maybe someone else will have more solid information.

  • Adding more RAM to Intel GMA 950?

So I've had my iMac (see bottom of post for specs) for a while now and I love everything about it, except the Intel GMA 950 intergrated graphics. It works, but as far as games go, I can hardly play Halo. It's gotten better since 10.5.6 seeing as it boosts graphics performance, but it could be better.
I'm aware that it's VRAM is shared with system memory, so is there any way I can give the chip more of the system RAM to use? 2gb is plenty, so I'm willing to share some. Any help is appreciated.

    Jerroslaw,
since you’re running Mavericks, open up Activity Monitor while you’ve got your usual selection of apps running, select its Memory tab, and look at the Swap Used setting in the lower left. If it’s displaying “0 bytes” as the amount of swap used, then extra RAM won’t make a difference. Otherwise, to answer your first question, whether it’s worth it or not depends upon how frustrated you are running your usual selection of apps with 4 GB of RAM. It might be that the cost of replacement RAM modules outweighs your level of frustration — only you can make that determination of worth. I would recommend that if you do choose to purchase replacement RAM, that you get a pair of matching modules — either 2 × 4 GB = 8 GB, or 2 × 8 GB = 16 GB, to replace the pair that is currently installed.
For your second question, you don’t have to use Apple-brand RAM, but you do have to use RAM with the same characteristics as your factory-installed RAM uses. Any worthwhile purveyor of RAM for Macs will let you easily locate modules that are compatible with your Mid 2012 MacBook Pro.

  • I just downloaded 950 photos on iPhoto and deleted them off my camera and now under last import there is only 4 photos and i can't find the others?? There is a whole bunch of blank events in the library with no photos in them all with todays date? Help!!

I just downloaded 950 photos on iPhoto and deleted them off my camera and now under last import there is only 4 photos and i can't find the others?? There is a whole bunch of blank events in the library with no photos in them all with todays date? Help!!

Yes - you need a min of 10 GB just to operate - with just 1 you certainly can lose photos and other critical things - you need to make space immediately - probably by moving your iPhoto library to a volume formatted Mac OS extended -
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive

There are a couple of things you can do:
instead of posting the individual line itame detail, post summary items.
Create a dummy offset account. Total the first 950 items and post the remainder to the offset. Then do the same for the remaining items. The total to the offset will be zero.
If you search the forum, you will find more details on this.

I just purchased a Samsung SyncMaster 2443BW. I connect it through DVI and the highest resolution I can set it at is 1280, higher options are not offered in display preferences.
The monitor's native resolution is 1920x1200.
The macbook I am using has a GMA 950 card which is supposed to support up to 1920x1200 on an external monitor.
Would anyone know how to make it work? Thanks in advance

    Hi and welcome to Discussions,
taken from Apple Video Developer Note found here:

    *External Display Modes*
The default display mode setting on the MacBook is extended desktop display. To toggle between the two modes, press the F7 key, or go to System Preferences>Displays>Arrangement.
A scaling function is available when the internal display and an external monitor are both operating and the mirror mode is selected. However, the external monitor could have black borders during mirroring, depending on the supported timings between the two displays and on the monitor’s selection algorithm. Black borders are not seen on VGA displays.
Both displays show full-sized images when the display resolution for the external monitor is set to the internal display’s native resolution: 1280 by 800. Both displays can operate with other resolution settings, but in mirror mode, one of the displays may be smaller than the full screen and have a black border around it. With the resolution for the external monitor set to less than 1280 by 800, the image on the internal display is smaller than its screen. For resolution settings larger than 1280 by 800, the image on the external monitor is smaller than its screen.
In mirror mode, the maximum size of the external display is 1280 by 800 at 60 Hz. In extended desktop mode, the maximum size of the external display is 1920 by 1200 at 60 Hz.
    Regards
    Stefan
