HSB/HSL Filter for CS6?

Does anyboy know how to get the old HSB/HSL filter into CS6?
I've tried to copy both the CS3 and CS5 version of that filter into the CS6 directory sturcture, but the filter does not appear. No errors, just no appearance under Filters.
I have a handful of actions that use that filter to generate saturation masks. A number of forum threads have tried and failed to reproduce the equivalent saturation mask using available Photoshop functions.
Maybe it will be there under "Goodies" when the official release is made, maybe not. Or maybe it's hidden in the Beta download, but I can't find it.
Good news is that the few other custom filters I use work fine when simply copied from the CS5 directory to the CS6 directory. These are the Topaz products and Imagineomic Noiseware and Portraiture.

Had to RTFM to remember that with CS5 the HSB/HSL filter is bundled in a file called OptinalMultiPlugin.8BF.
Previously I just used search for all filenames containing "hsb". Only found a 1KB file called "Adobe HSBHSL Filter CS5 Prefs" (no extension) in a folder called "Adobe Mondo Filter CS5" in the users "Roaming" folder tree. copied that to CS6 with no joy. Still don't know what that is.
But copying the OptionalMultiPlugin.8BF to a plugin folder for CS6 works. The filter appears under the "Other" category and functions OK.
For the fun of it, I counted 13 different Adobe CS5/CS6 "plugins" folders now on my system! Less fun trying to figure out which ones CS6 uses.

HSB/HSL Filter not available in CC 2014

Hi,
I have CC 2014..2.2 (20141204.r.310 x32) installed on a Windows 7 (32bit) machine. Wanting to use the HSB/HSL filter, under Filters > Other but it is greyed out. Have tried installing it from Downloadable content (plug-ins) After downloading the file I locate the OptionalMuliPlugin in the Optional Plug-Ins Win32 folder, in the Zip file, and double click on it to install. This opens Photoshop but then comes up with an error saying "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document". Have also tried copying and pasting the OptionalMultiPlugin file into the Plugins folder at C:Program Files > Adobe > Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 (32 Bit) > Plugins but this does not work either.
What am I missing?

The version you have installs the HSB/HSL plugin as part of its default/required set. If you can see it in the Filter menu, it's installed. There is no need to install anything else.
As for it being disabled when you attempt to use it, are you certain the active image qualifies in terms of bit depth, color mode, etc.?

HSB/HSL filter plugin won't stay loaded in Photoshop CC

I downloaded the optional HSB/HSL filter into the Photoshop CC plugins folder per the instructions. However, when I open Photoshop CC, the filter is not available in Other Filters in the Filters menu which is where it's supposed to be. With Photoshop CC closed, I can double-click on the "Optional Multiplugin.8BF" file (that has the HSB/HSL filter). That causes Photoshop CC to open and puts the HSB/HSL filter in Other Folders in the Filters menu. However, if I close Photoshop CC then reopen it, the filter is gone. Yesterday I updated Photoshop CC to verson 14.2.1 but that did not fix the problem.
Here is where the file is located on my computer:
Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC (64 bit)\Plug-ins\Optional Plug-ins Win64\Optional Multiplugin.8BF
Is there some way to load the "Optional Multiplugin.8BF" file so that it stays permanently loaded in Photoshop CC?

Yes, it turns out you're exactly right. I didn't realize I had a 32 bit version of Photoshop CC. My shortcut in my start menu was pointing to the 32 bit version. I re-pointed it to the 64 bit Photoshop CC and now the filter is where I expect it to be. Thanks for your help.

That is the type of error you would see if you double-click the 8BF file. The file type is associated with Photoshop, so if you double-click the file, Photoshop will attempt to open it as if it were an image. Plug-in files just need to be in the plug-ins folder at the time Photoshop is launched for the plug-in to be used in Photoshop.

You can play around with adjusting the transparency of the lines to get a more "natural" look.
Once you're done creating the star effect, you can make it into a brush by going to Edit > Define Brush Preset...

Where is the 'Goodies' Folder for CS6?

Doing a fresh install of CS6 Extended on a new computer (Windows 7). In an earlier version of PS there was a folder called Goodies and it contained the HSB/HSL filter. When I upgraded from those previous versions the plugins and filters migrated automatically or I simply copied from the Plugins>Filters folder of the old version to the new. Looking at the extracted files for CS6, I'm not seeing the 'Goodies' folder. Further, when I look in c>Program Files>Adobe>CS6>Plugins, there's no Filters folder, just a Panels folder.

We no longer distribute or include a 'Goodies' folder on disk. For the HSB/HSL filter, you'll want to grab the 'OptionalMultiPlugin' plug-in, which bundles of a couple plug-ins. Also the shipping plug-ins have been moved from the directory you might expect to find them. Any additional 3rd party plug-in or optional plug-in can still be installed to these path without needing to add /Filters:
Windows 7 and Vista (32 bit): Program Files (x86)/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Plug-ins folder
Windows 7 and Vista (64 bit): Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 bit)/Plug-ins folder

A Plug_in normally come with an installer or install instructions. Check the documentation for the plug-in you trying to install. It sounds like you don't know what plug-ins you want to install. In that case you don't need to install any. At some point you may read about a plug-in and what it can do and feel you have a need for it. Then you will have a reason to install a plug-in that is not installed by default. There may also be a cost involved most worthwhile plug-ins are not free.
Adobe Optional Plug_ins downloads are Plugins Adobe want to remove from Photoshop and no longer install by default. Also at some point in time these will no longer install into the current Photoshop for Adobe will remove feature or interfaces the use. For example the CS5 optional plugins will install in Windows CS6 perpetual version 13.0.1.3 but not in Subscription version 13.1.2 or perpetual Mac version 13.0.6 fot its 64bit only and the Mac CS5 optional plug-in for Picture package is only a 32bit plug-in.
You will need to keep and maintain old versions of Photoshop if Adobe remove features you use in new versions of Photoshop.

The Camera Raw filter isn't in Photoshop CS6. That is one of the new features that has been added to Photoshop CC. Photoshop CS6 is not going to have any enhancements added to it. The development cycle is finished for CS6.

Filter for movie trailer voice over?

Does anyone know of a filter I can use in CS6 or purchase that will enable me to alter my voice to sound more like one of those scholarly sounding voice overs used for movie trailers?

Maybe you don't need a " filter" for after the fact.. you may be able to make your voice sound like that as you record it....
For example, if you wanna sound like a smart person from New England states.. you can put a clothes pin on your nose as you speak.
Use words like, " one has to know one's history to know one's potential, doesn't one ? "
Alternately, if you wanna sound like someone from the SouthWest.. like Texas for example, you can talk through a sock....just roll up a common cotton sock and speak through it into mic....and use words like, " Heck, it aint rocket science to know about the history of this place ! "
add some background stuff like cattle braying and you're in like Flint !

Hello, you are maybe confused by the fact that some filter gallery filters have moved in CS6?
Filter>distort>glass is now listed in Filters>filter gallery

If your issue is that you would like to load more textures for the glass filter, you can do it by clicking on the drop down menu next to the texture for that filter, and navigate where you saved the other textures.

How much future useage for CS6 for a stand-alone photographer?

I'm a semi professional small-scale photographer. It's a hobby, but I do some commercial work. It certainly isn't a living (I have other income)
I've been on CS6 for some time. It does absolutely everything that I need, and in fact it's too much. I could do with an application that's somewhere between Lightroom+Elements and CS6. It doesn't exist.
But as I've paid for CS6 I'm quite happy to keep on using it ad infinitum - after all, with no more upgrades (CS7 etc) it's free now! But at a realistic level how long can I run it for, do you think? I run a good spec desktop PC with Windows 7. I use CS6 in 64bit mode, and also Bridge. Assuming my PC fails in 12 months time (it's three years old) I will get a new destop using Windows 8. CS6 will run under Windows 8, so no problems there. My new desktop may last 5 years? That gives me a total of 6 years using CS6.
Of course, there will need to be support from Adobe for CS6, in particular if any significant bugs arise. But why should there be new bugs, unless they are in relation to third-party plugins etc? CS6 has been out for some time. Adobe are not going to change it (they have their head stuck in a cloud) so it shouldn't get broken. Or am I wrong in thinking that?
Any thoughts?

To tell you the truth all upgrade after CS3 have been plagued with bugs. I was not looking forward to having to upgrade to CS7.
It look like CC has its share of bugs too. Though CC seems to be starting off better then CS6 did. While there have been a few dozen bugs reported in Adobe's Photoshop Family problem forum. That is not a large number and most are not problems with CC crashing.
