Hsp_Rate Dimension on data form

Hi,
I have a multicurrency planning application and have web many webforms to input data. When i open a web form in edit mode i dont see any member from the dimension HSP_Rates dimesion on form. I guess its not possible to not select any member from that dimension?
IS there a default value of member that all the data forms take to input the values?
Please advise!

Multiple-currency applications include the Hsp_Rates dimension for storing exchange rates. It includes these members and others that store currency rates:
* Hsp_InputValue: Stores data values
* Hsp_InputCurrency: Stores currency types for data values
When generating reports or loading data, refer to the Hsp_InputValue member. When loading data, you must load data against the local currency. You need not refer to the Hsp_InputCurrency member.

Working with dimensions in data forms

Hi All,
I am creating a data form in one of my classic planning application, using Hyperion 11.1.2.
Suppose i have two custom dimensions with two members in each of them:
Dim1 (Mem1, Mem2)
Dim2 (Mem3, Mem4)
Now i place both of above dimension at column level in my dataform and its looks like the following

Where as i want to have Mem3 and Mem4 under Mem1 only, which will look like this

Is there any way to achieve that?
Secondly, if i chek "Place each member in separate column" while selecting the members of Dim1, then the above structure looks like"

Is there any way to merge these repeating names without unchecking that checkbox?

Hi,
all data exists at the intersection of all dimensions - so I do not see how your form would work without certain dimensions.
However, you may want to create certain 'non-members' like 'NoPeriod', 'NoEntity' if for some reason you need data that exists without reference to these dimensions. (You would still have to select them in your form design)
What are you trying to achieve with regards to your second question - is this just presentational?

Using hidden dimensions on data form (Planning V11)

Hi,
I’m using EPM – Planning 11.1.1.2.0.
I’m building a data form. I’d like to use 5 dimensions in columns of my table. And I’d like to set hidden 2 of 5 these dimensions.
My trouble that Planning can show me this data form if hidden ONE dimension has been set LAST in order. In other variants I had an error (browser IE was crashed). If I set TWO hidden dimensions (has been set LAST in order) Planning shows me data form but when I try to enter data my browser was crashed again.
How can I build my form to use it (hidden dimensions in table columns) successfully? I can't found any limits to use hidden option for dimensions in columns in admin guides for EPM 11.
Have you such trouble too?

Selection of ICP and custom dimension in data forms

We are investigating the possibility of changing our divisional reporting – and we are looking into different possible solutions. Maybe you can help us?
We eliminate on both ICP and divisions (custom1= division, custom2= divisional counterpart).
We have 150 ICP entities and (in the future maybe) 100+ divisional counterparts (custom2). However, one entity only has 10-15 divisions (and not 100+).
Do you know of a smart way to choose ICP entity and custom2 in a data form – so the reporting will be easy for the reporting companies?
Ideally I would like to be able first to select ICP entity (add member function) and then at the same time select a custom2 (divisional counterpart) – but only choose between those custom2/divisions that the company has. I do not think you can add member functions for both ICP and Custom2 at the same time in a data form?
Do you have any suggestions?

We thought about that solution but it would not follow good metadata structure (more like Hyperion Enterprise). We are hoping for a clever solution to make the webforms work.

Hide dimension in data form also hide the data

Hi all,
It might sound simple, but i still could not found a workaround for this problem.
so here is the problem:
1. example i have dimension lineItem with member line1, line2, line3
FY13
Jan | Feb | ...
line1 | 1 | 1
line2 | 2 | 2
line3 | 3 | 3
2. i want to hide the line information so i choose to hide dimension for dimension LineItem. but instead hiding the dimension, it hide all the row (so no data shown).
3. i try to hide dimension that is used as column but everything is fine as the following:
FY13
line1 | 1 | 1
line2 | 2 | 2
line3 | 3 | 3
Anyone have this experience or method about how to hide dimension in row but still keep the data?
(i'm using hyperion 11.1.2.2)

i already test it again and i get the following result:
1. if i only have 2 dimension in row: product and LineItem (hidden) i get the following:
FY13
Jan | Feb | ...
product A | 1 | 1
product A | 2 | 2
product A | 3 | 3
(it work fine)
2. if i have 3 or more dimensions in row, i get the following:
FY13
Jan | Feb | ...
new sales | product A | 1 | 1
(it only show one row which is the line1, it seems like it cannot handle if we put more dimensions)

Dimension Level Security on a Data Form

Hi,
Is there any other way in Hyperion Planning to know where the dimensional level security is missing when you get the following error - (other than manually going to the dimensions and checking it)
"Security and/or filtering has resulted in a required dimension not being represented on the data form"

Yes it is possible in 11.1.1.3, for example in your row select a dimension that has attributes associated with it. select dimension properties next to the down drop.
Tick "Enable custom attribute display (setting applies to all dimensions with associated attributes): "

View dimension hierarchy using the filter property of data form

Hi,
I created a data form where I want to show the dimension hierarchy. But when I am filtering the form using attribute dimension then the hierarchy is not being shown in the form.Is their any way so that I can use the filter property also and make the dimension hierarchy visible in the data form?

What's the error ? You have to use a function, otherwise it will only display the member you picked.
Actually in our dimension structure we have a 3 generation hierarchy and the attribute is only associated with the 3rd generation member. So we want to display the 3rd generation having the specific attribute "xx" wit the entire hierarchical structure in our data form.

On the right side of the screen, you have a section called Display Properties. Check the box called Enable custom attributes, then check your attribute name. Dimensions set to Selectable are not selectable w/in Smart View Data Forms

When trying to use a data form by clicking "Select Form" in the Hyperion toolbar in Excel (not exporting from webspace), Dimensions that are defined as Selectable are not actually selectable within Smartview. Below is a portion of the script:
BackgroundPOV=S#***.Y#***.w#***.V#***.I#***.C4#***
SelectablePOVList=P{***}.E{***.[Base]}.C1{***.[Hierarchy]}
Within the web, the form works fine and everything selectable is selectable. Within smart view, only Entity is selectable. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I have found this and its generally because the dimension is referenced in the column
i.e Year and period is displayed in the column.
In HFM you can select the members from the POV but when opening in SmartView you can't
Solution is to remove the dimension from the col or row.

Security and/or filtering error in data form creation

Hi,
I am getting this error when I am trying to preview my data form.
This is the first time I am creating an application and data form in Hyperion.
The data form is multicurrency and plan type is Plan1.
Row:
Account members: Descendants(Account)
Column:
Year:Descendants(FY10)
Period:Descendants(YearTotal)
Page Dimension(s)
Entity:Descendants(Entity)
Scenario:Current
Version:BU Version_1
POV:
Currency:USD
Disabled all options in "Other options" and Not selected any business rukes.
When selecting preview data form I am getting below error:
Security and/or filtering has resulted in a required dimension not being represented on this data form
I have not selected any security/filter settings as of now. Please suggest whats causing this.

Hi Jake,
I did what you suggested,but I am still getting same error.
Here I would like to point out that. I have selected my application to support multicurrency, but 'HSP_RATES' does not come in Dimension selection drop down. I can see 'HSP_RATES' in Performance settings tab, but I cant see it in Dimensions tab or Evaluation order tab.
Is this causing problem? Should I add it manually?

HSP_Rate dimension not showing in Smartview 11.1.2.1 Adhoc Analysis Conn.

I have an out of box currency conversion planning application.
The issue is that if I create Essbase connection via Smartview I can see the HSP_Rate dimension,however if I create Planning connection and use Ad hoc Analysis option I do not see the HSP_Rate dimension.
Is this a normal behavior ?

We just upgraded from 11.1.2.0 to 11.1.2.1 and are facing the same issue. I haven't found any reference to ER 8246706: CANNOT SUBMIT DATA FROM ADHOC VIEW FOR A MULTICURRENCY DATA FORM in support.oracle.com or a patch for 11.1.2.1.
Are you aware of any patch available for release 11.1.2.1?

Error when opening Data Form

Hi All,
Also I have tried by removing access for that user and opened the Dta Form but still it throwing me the same error:
You are trying to open the data form, but cannot because all of the required dimensions are not present. Possible causes may be that you do not have access to at least one member of a required dimension, or the member selection resulted in no members present. Contact your administrator

Get cell value in Planning Data form and using it in a business rule

Hi Everybody,
if i set the data type of an Account Member as text, is there a way to get the value inserted by the user in a dataform, turning it as dimensional member and using it in a business rule?
So, if the user insert the value "USA" in a cell, can i use any functions to tell essbase that "USA" is a dimensional member and then using it in a business rule, for example in a cross-dimension like Period1->FY12->USA?
I tried to use the function @Member and it doesn't work, but i'm wondering if there is a way that can let me get the value inserted and use it just like a dimensional member. What are the ways that can let user input value that can be used in a business rule? I think one is by using SmartList, is there any other ways? Maybe using variables?? As an alternative i tried to use Prompt Variable but there are too many members on which the rule must run.
Please help me, i wanna know if i can or not let the user input the member on which the rule must run...

YesI could use SmartList even if i think it's very tough to handle. My experience on using SmartList in caclc script is not so good. I try to enter in details of my requirement:
I have 500 account members.
For each one, I have to calculate the monthly budget by sharing the amount among the months. The user wants to calculate it on the basis of the actual flow(over the months) of an unspecified account of the prior year. The unspecified account must be inserted in a data form.
So, i could use a Smart List but it colud be of 500 elements and then i should make a rule with as many IF as how many are the accounts. Or im wrong? The only way to use smart list dynamically in a business rule is by referring its values in a IF condition. Or i'm wrong.
I tried to use execution variable ma it seems don't work. In this case the user must pay attention to write the account correctly, otherwise as you say the rule doesn't work.
The value in PD0A020 is "PD0A000" (that is a dimensional member). The value in PD0A000 is "hello". In PD0A040 the rule returns "PD0A000" and not "hello" as i would. The function @Member appears to be not able to catch the dimensional member by the value in PD0A000.

User access to "planning " data forms

iam newbie to planning
i have two different doubts in planning
i have created a application in eas called "blue " in eas console and loaded the data and retrieved in excel , iam able to see the data . mean while i have created planning application called "gt" and its created sucessfully, i can able to "gt" see in the eas console . i wanted to get the data from "blue" in eas into planning "gt" dataforms i created a user called "blue" in shared services console , i decided to give the privilege to "blue" in eas , i clicked on the default application to blue application but was nt there ,but it showing separtely , i clicked on that and assigned roles like "administrator" and cube creator and planner
my doubt is that
1: when i logon "gt " planning application and created dataform folder i want to access the essbase application "blue" data, but there is no user available in that dataform
iam confused whether i should give privileges to default application or "gt " i find both of them in shared services console
clearly my doubt how to link eas "blue" with planning "gt " and datas form blue should be retrived in gt dataform

Hi,
I am not totally sure what you are trying to achieve but if you create an essbase application in EAS it is a totally seperate entity from a planning application, so you can't just access it directly.
The are many options on what to do but it needs to be clearer why you have to access the data from a seperate database.
If there is a commonality in the dimensions then it would have been possible to create an extra plan type when you created the planning application, this creates an extra database as part of the planning application.
The other options are to use XREFs to access data from one to cube to another.
Another option would to use partitions.
You could extract the data from one cube using an export or DATAEXPORT command and then load it into your planning database or use ODI to extract from one database and load it into the other.

Data Forms takes a lot of time to open

Hi,
My Data Forms are having around 24 columns and some 150 rows, with multiple currencies. I have gone through the document 779502.1 for data form design considerations. But I cant split this form, have dense dimensions in rows and columns and rest in page and POV, not many dynamic members, have static dimensions in POV and hidden, no business rule running on save, and not much data in it as its still in development so not using suppress #missing. What are other ways to have data forms open faster? its not the IE , I tried opening with other browsers too. Please suggest

What are your hardware specs ?
Are you working from a remote environment ? If you are, activating HTTP compression will greatly reduce the time needed to open the forms.
